I recently visited the Blockbuster in Bend, OR, and it truly exceeded my expectations. It not only brought back fond childhood memories but also allowed me to get a Blockbuster card, reminiscent of the good old days. They offer DVDs for rent and even sell VHS tapes. The store is rich in history, and you could spend a significant amount of time browsing without catching all the historical treasures it holds. Overall, I would rate it a perfect 10/10 and will definitely return!

Google
It was so neat to walk into this store and feel like I was walking back into my childhood. I was flooded with so many memories of my local Blockbuster stores. If you go, buy merchandise, it is what is keeping this store going. It is almost like a museum, but one where you can still rent movies!

Google
They do exist!!!!!! Taken back to my childhood of fond memories with VHS videos and Packages of DVD’s unscathed and in perfect condition. THIS PLACE HAS IT ALL!!! All the movies in VHS! You can still smell the film!!! It was liberating to connect with such an iconic piece of the past. Just to see how far technology has come but you definitely can’t forget where we came from!!! But I still ran out fast just in case, I still had leftover fees from past rentals! But one more thing, don’t forget to BE KIND AND REWIND 😂😂

Google
This place is a nostalgia overload! Not only are there traditional DVDs/VHSs here, but there are even classic memorabilia on display. Everything from the classic smell and atmosphere to the "wow" factor of seeing stuff you remember as a kid. This isn't just a place you "Visit". This is a place you experience! Would recommend this place to anyone!

Google
Just incredible. All the other reviews speak for themselves. Staff was very helpful and got us a quick membership card so we could rent The Goonies while in town. Lots of memorabilia in store and plenty of souvenirs. Must visit if you’re in Bend!

bartellj

Google
The last Blockbuster on the planet! This was such a fun blast from the past! They really put a lot of effort into decorating the place. The staff was great and it was really fun to watch. All the really young kids go in asking all the questions about renting movies.

Jesse Bowlen

Google
So much 1990s nostalgia packed in one building. Its almost more of a museum than a functioning rental store but you can for sure rent dvds. The staff was awesome considering they have to deal with so many tourists and most not actually renting anything. Overall if you're feeling like living a classic Friday night stop by this place.

Google
It was like stepping into a time capsule. Never thought I’d be in a blockbuster again but am so glad we made the stop here in Bend. They’ve done a great job at capturing the vibe, it wasn’t just nostalgic — it was like they’d bottled the spirit of a whole era. It reminded me of a simpler time when movie night was an event, not just a scroll through a screen.

Yelp
A great trip back in time for people of a certain age. We were on vacation in Sunriver and this was the only stop we made in Bend. It's mostly a Blockbuster gift shop for tourists, but some lucky locals can still maintain memberships here. We couldn't leave without a bag of Blockbuster swag. If you are in Bend, it is a must visit. Just taking time to view the posters and display cases is worth the trip.

Yelp
Flashback to the past and my whole childhood. What an experience. I found this place randomly as we were turning down this road I looked over and screamed to my husband "OMG IS THAT A BLOCKBUSTER!?!?!?!?!?", he whipped that car around soooo fast!! We ran inside like if we were going to be teleported back to our childhood. We definitely were. What a beautiful nostalgic experience walking in here. The last blockbuster on Earth!! They sell a huge variety of souvenirs, VHS tapes, and more different cool memorabilia! You'll probably cry walking out of the store just saying

Yelp
As someone who grew up going to Blockbuster on a weekly basis, I was extremely excited to have the opportunity to visit what is officially "The Last Blockbuster on the Planet." Prior to pulling up in the Blockbuster parking lot, hubby and I were filled with nostalgia and after getting out of the car, we took a photo on front of the blockbuster logo outside of the building. Upon entering the store, hubby and I were warmly greeted by employees then enjoyed walking around the store and seeing various homages to the past including a living room set up from the 1980s, actor chairs, movie posters , VHS tapes for sale, horror movies, and highlighting 80s movies. The friendly attitudes of store employees was infectious and as we were shopping, we engaged in several conversations with other visitors to the store. The store is fascinating in that it is part thriving store where a person can still rent a movie on DVD for seven nights and part pop culture museum in the various movie displays. After walking around for about an hour, and looking at various videos and items for purchase, hubby and I left purchased two postcards, a lanyard, a fridge magnet, and a-shirt which were all reasonably priced. The shopping experience was relaxing, fun, and great blast from the past.

Yelp
Well yes I am old enough that I had a blockbuster card when they were still just VHS....( so that would make me .....37ish...). Anyway this is the very last Blockbuster video in the free world (at this point the free may go away before the last blockbuster... Let's hope not). on a day trip this was one of our spots to stop at and it is straight Americana! You can still rent DVDs or buy all kinds of swag here. If you just happen to be in the area, it's worth a stop for sure just to transport you back to old times... Damn, I sound old....Good stuff
google avatar

Yelp
How can I not give the last Blockbuster on earth anything but five stars..... It's nostalgic and now a unique icon of an era that once thrived with video rentals. It's just fun to visit and walk around the store, though they still function as a traditional Blockbuster in case you want to rent a movie.

Yelp
I did the tourist thing and came in to look around and of cource, by a memorabilia TShirt. This retro store that actually still rents video is truly a trip down memory lane. Inside it it very much museum type item from Blockbuster of yesterday. The staff seemed very nice with a little undertone of, "Yes, all of this stuff was really "real" stuff from Blockbuster". I did notice a little sign that said pictures in the store are okay, pictures of the staff members needs permissions. I am glad I stopped in and if I could have found my original Blockbuster membership card, I would have included a picture of it, but since I threw it away a long time ago, I will have the memories of this place in my photo gallery.

Yelp
So many memories flooded back when I pulled up to Blockbuster. I spent a few minutes documenting pictures of the front signs and taking in the moment. When I walked in the doors, it looked the exact same since the last time I was in a Blockbuster, maybe 15 or so years prior. I walked throughout the store and enjoyed all the old movie posters, memorabilia and seeing a good ole VHS tape. There are a few clothing racks set up to market Blockbuster apparel and nic nacs. The two lady employees at the front did not have a great attitude and were not very welcoming. I wanted to leave with something other than a picture for a souvenir but the clothes and hats were more money than I wanted to spend. I found a replica Blockbuster member card for two dollars. I was happy with that!

Yelp
It was great to remember the old times when Blockbuster was the place to go on Friday nights. Very nice place. God selection.

Yelp
Since I still live a lot of my life in the 1990s, it makes me really happy to see that there's one still open!

Yelp
In my youth I never imagined a time where we would be streaming videos + music and downloading video games. For the younger generations that were not around for the Blockbuster & overall video store era, there was a time where you had to leave your home to rent a movie (either a VHS or DVD) or video game. Normally there was a five day rental period in which you would be fined if you kept the movie or video game past the allotted timeframe. Although this method of consuming media was sometimes inconvenient and overall antiquated, there was something magical about browsing the movie and video game sections and chatting with strangers about their opinions (what is now captured via a YouTube review). The release of the 2020 documentary, "The Last Blockbuster" brought to the surface a ton of nostalgic memories from my childhood. Even better, hence the title, it brought to light the fact that there is a remaining Blockbuster video store located in Bend, Oregon. Fast forward to 2023, I was preparing an itinerary for a family trip to Portland and thought it would be cool to stop in Bend on the drive back home. As planned, en route to Sacramento from Portland, we made a quick stop at The Last Blockbuster. As I excitedly pulled into the Blockbuster parking lot (my wife was tickled by the apparent giddy expression on my face), I took in the signature Blockbuster logo in the signature yellow and blue theme. As we entered the store, we were greeted by a friendly employee located behind the counter. As we browsed the store, we noticed that it closely resembled the exact layout as the Blockbusters that I frequented as a child. For nostalgic folks such as myself, there is an entire section with Blockbuster memorabilia. For my wife and I, this was a fun walk down memory lane; however, my 10 year old son could not fathom why anyone would leave the comfort of their home to rent a movie or video game. As keepsakes, we bought two beers emblazoned with the Blockbuster logo and two Blockbuster neoprene beer koozies. If you are interested in witnessing a part of history, I definitely recommend visiting the store while it is still open (I'm hoping that the locals can keep it in business).

Yelp
So nostalgic and lots of selection including new releases, games and snacks. The only one left in the world.
google avatar

Yelp
Let's do our part in keeping this shop open indefinitely! Can't imagine this place turning a profit on video rental so go buy something, T shirt, souvenir, candy, something. Didn't call ahead or talked to anyone working in the store so can't comment on their attitude. I took pictures inside and out, went in, looked around, bought 2 T shirts and left, all without conversing with anyone, customers or employees. I think that what we should all do; support them without getting too loud or excited. Living in San Diego, no idea if I'll ever be in Bend again but will for sure visit again and buy something if opportunities exit in the future.

Yelp
A stop at the last blockbuster in the world was a condition my nephew set to go with us to Bend. So we made a quick stop here. Since we're from Eugene we obviously weren't about to rent a video (though we don't have VHS and maybe not DVD, so it wouldn't have worked anyway). They have a lot of souvenirs to commemorate your visits to the Last Blockbuster, like sweats, playing cards, t-shirts, and so on. There's some movie-related memorabilia to keep with the theme. I suspect there are people here who are renting videos, but seems like their main business nowadays is in people remembering their childhoods wandering through the aisles to rent the newest release. It's amazing to consider that's exactly what my sister, friends, and I would do, and now we have movies and television that are delivered right to our TV. Little me would have been astounded if she could have seen the future!

Yelp
You gotta go to the last Blockbuster in the world when you go to Bend! We went in January of this year and the lot was covered in packed snow. The workers were all college-aged kids who were more interested in their phones than us, but to be fair they're probably used to people just visiting for the nostalgia and pictures. We got a couple of souvenirs that were reasonably priced and enjoyed looking around at the movies they had available for rent. We were just in town for the weekend so we didn't rent anything, but it's just so nice that this place is still standing after all these years.
google avatar

Nick G.

Yelp
This place was absolutely everything you could possibly dream of! We traveled all the way from Southern California! The staff were super friendly and the store history memorabilia was so cool to see! This store is literally like a time capsule and I would highly recommend if you're visiting to check this place out! It's definitely a great memory to see the last Blockbuster! If you're a local please support this business and keep it surviving!! We can't let this place close down!! It's so awesome! There is a ton of merchandise you can buy at decent prices!
google avatar

Sara B.

Yelp
Awesome. If you grew up with Blockbusters, you need to go here. They have time capsule displays set up all over. Tons of merch to buy. It brings you back to those Friday night. The buttered popcorn candle smells delicious.

Yelp
What year is it?! While I was in Bend for decidedly other reasons, visiting "The Last Blockbuster" was high on the list for must-visits and it's worth coming! I highly recommend watching the documentary about the store to get the whole picture about the family and community in which it sits; but if you just want a blast from the past, you must come in. Blockbuster is in a more commercial area of Bend, not a far drive from downtown. It's in a little strip mall and boasts the original signs in the parking lots. The staff here are super welcoming, well aware that many people are coming for the novelty. The first thing I noticed was the smell, it's exactly like those Friday night memories growing up and looking for that favorite or new movie. To the right of the counter they have a 90s throwback room display. The store also has a bunch of real movie memorabilia plus all kinds of collectibles from the heyday of Blockbuster's popularity. Of course for those not renting, they have tons of used movies for sale. They also have souvenirs for sale including pens, shirts, magnets, postcards - and the coolest thing, a collaboration beer with 10Barrel nearby. Just to support, we bought a bunch of stuff; I wish we could still browse tangible media in person like this to choose movies. This is a must-visit spot in Bend!

Yelp
I felt so much joy walking through these doors! We were in town visiting, so we had no plans to get a movie, but I was absolutely going to get some memorabilia and movie snacks! We, of course, had to take a pic with the sign out front, iconic. We went in on a Saturday night around 5pmish, and it wasn't too busy. There was a festival going on in Bend that day, which may have been part of it not being busy. This place is filled with classic setups, movie memorabilia, and blasts from the past! We wandered around the entire place with smiles on our faces just enjoying the feeling. We ended up at the section where you can buy movies that were previously rented out, and I ended up walking away with a dvd for $6! The middle of the store is the merch, and we ended up leaving with a blockbuster shirt, postcard, 2 membership cards, and a silicone shot glass. Everything was priced super reasonably, I think the shirt was the most expensive at $20. If you have the chance, check this place out and buy some merchandise so this place can stay open!!

Yelp
I'll be honest: One of the reasons I wanted to go to Bend was to visit Blockbuster. I pulled in to the parking lot and had flashbacks of visiting Blockbuster with my dad and brother as a youngster, walking around the aisles, looking for movies, finally finding one we all agreed on, only to have it be already rented! Unfortunately, we were just in the area for a night and did not have access to a VHS or DVD player so we just browsed... and were amazed at all of the old relics of the past. It was honestly like we stepped back in time, super cool. I loved the corner of the store that looked like our living room from years prior. While I didn't rent any movies, the selection looked good, and I did end up getting a couple of postcards and stickers and really considered getting a Blockbuster card but I am pretty sure I still have one from a decade (or more) ago. Renting movies, obviously there's great value in that. The service was adequate, no complaints. Even the computers looked like they did in the 80s and 90s - blue screens, old keyboards, old font - I loved it! I hope to make it a Blockbuster night in the future. If you're in Bend or even Oregon, visiting Blockbuster is a must... It'll take you way back.
google avatar

Kal C.

Yelp
Blast from the past. I think the most surprising thing about my visit was that: 1) they still use the same grimy old keyboards/computers Circa 1990-something. 2) they sell products with CBD now. Holy bajeez. They have a section with film memorabilia that's pretty cool. I was still just as confused about where to exit as I was in 2000. Worth a stop!
google avatar

Cynthia Erika S.

Yelp
I'd have to say it was pretty surreal visiting the last Blockbuster in the world. I was visiting from out of town with a girlfriend of mine, and we knew we had to stop by here. It was like stepping back into the 90s. What I liked most about it was that it was very much a functioning and active Blockbuster rental store, but it also integrated merchandise, keepsakes, a locked up time capsule towards the back of the store, and a roped off 90's "living room", that makes you feel right at home. I would be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of the residents of Bend for having this gem in their little town.
google avatar

Veronica N.

Yelp
Loved the experience, would go back again. So, nostalgic for the different generations. My family loved seeing the decorations and the merch. The vibe of the whole store brings you back to the blockbuster you used to go to with your family to pick out a movie to watch. Plus the merch was drippy too.
google avatar

Yelp
What's up: Like many others, I grew up with my local Blockbuster and was sad when it went away. After watching the recent Netflix documentary about the Last Blockbuster, my friends and I had to make a stop in Bend to check it out. Parking: There is a small lot up front for parking that is shared with other businesses nearby. When we arrived, there were a few open spots, so it's a pretty busy location. Environment: Masks are required to enter. Walking in, it feels like you've gone back in time with all the DVDs and VHS tapes on the tracks. It had the classic colors of Blockbuster as well as the cool memorabilia from Russell Crowe. It's also cool seeing all the notes that fans from all over sent in to shore their live and support. There's also Last Blockbuster gear that can be purchased such as t-shirts, hats, and bottles. You can even get a membership card for $2. Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. This was a very nostalgic stop on our trip. It's also awesome to see this lonesome little store still operating. I hope it sticks around for years to come because it really does represent a different era when people walked the rows to find something to watch instead of just clicking away. It's totally a time capsule of films and movies from a different time. Best of luck to this store and their Blockbuster family!
google avatar

Don K.

Yelp
When in Bend you gotta stop here and pay homage, right? For folks of a certain age, who hasn't been part of Blockbuster? The staff were very chill and probably quite used to dorks like me just gawking. The Russell Crowe memorabilia section was pretty cool to see. I was thinking that they had the jock strap from Cinderella Man that John Oliver procured, but it wasn't part of the display on this day. Just for pure nostalgia sake, this visit was so satisfying. They continue to stock recently released feature films and TV series; the new Doctor Who with Jodie Whittaker anyone? Take a few minutes when in the area and transport yourself back about 20+ years.
google avatar

Olive R.

Yelp
A major blast from the past!!! Such a cool experience and totally worth the drive (3 hours from Portland!!) the staff were super sweet. The DVD they have here come from new releases (The Whale) to the old school. I believe it's $3.99 to rent and you need to have your ID to sign up, but to be in this environment again is really nostalgic. I bought some shirts, a magnet and this SUPER intense popcorn smelling candle that will probably annoy my boyfriend. Such an amazing place!!!
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
Visiting the Blockbuster in Bend was like entering a time capsule as I shared the same nostalgic sentiments like in the documentary called The Last Blockbuster. I browsed through collection of DVDs, and I reminisced of the days when they were VHS boxes. It had quite a collection of movies that don't show up on streaming services based of the algorithm of my preferences. There were also movies I haven't seen in years or haven't even heard of. During my visit, there was a combination of locals renting movies and out of towner like me snapping photos. The staff seemed busy sorting the returns. There was also merchandise to buy, and I got a shirt as a souvenir. This is a cool stop for any movie lover.

Yelp
The last Blockbuster in the world! And let's keep it that way, as this precious gem should never bid adieu. Yes, we have all seen the documentary on Netflix (how ironic) about Blockbuster's bust and much of it featured this beloved Bend location, as the very last one. It's even better in person. On our first day in Bend, we HAD to make it to Blockbuster. And it feels very much like nostalgia when you walk inside, with blue and yellow all over the place. And you can easily tell the locals from the tourists because the locals are actually renting a movie. Staff probably is over this tourist trap, which is why it is not permitted to take a picture with or of the staff. I get it. So we minded our business and walked around the place and got some goods. They have a lot of Blockbuster merchandise to purchase since ya know, it's the last and only store. They also had a display area of items from movie sets that have been donated from directors and actors. I left with a fanny pack and tee-shirt; I know you're jealous. There is a tender place in my heart for Blockbuster. And if you feel the same way, you will love this Blockbuster that easily takes you back to simpler times and that college boyfriend that you shoulda broken up with from the start. If you're visiting Bend, Oregon, Blockbuster is a must.
google avatar

Summer O.

Yelp
If you're already in Bend, then it's a must do. Take the 5-15 minutes to take your pictures outside AND inside the last Blockbuster in the universe. We went to gawk but left with a bumper sticker and a VHS tape. They were out of shirts at the time and at $20-40 a pop, I know how they stay afloat. That said, I would've bought a $40 hoodie if they were in stock!!! And I applaud them - whatever it takes!!! I highly recommend watching "The Last Blockbuster" before going. The inside is a flashback and is also a museum of sorts. So make sure you go inside, not just take pictures outside. Be kind, please rewind!

Yelp
What year is it again? I feel like I've been transported back to a Friday night in 1999 and I'm here to pick up some VHS tapes and a pack of Butterfinger BB's. I honestly thought all Blockbusters have already closed down but when I mentioned a trip to Oregon, one of student's mentioned that there was a Blockbuster there so naturally, I had to make a stop and get all the photos for my teens. This Blockbuster is like a Prius hybrid. It remains a fully functional Blockbuster but is also part museum/souvenir store. This Blockbuster still has DVD's and video games for rent and I saw local Bend residents checking out and returning films. There are also a lot of tourists who make a detour here for a nostalgic walk down the aisles of Blockbuster, to take photos or buy Blockbuster branded swag like sweaters and water bottles. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend a stop at this little time capsule in Bend.
google avatar

Nina M.

Yelp
A MUST place to stop by if you grew up in the 90s. As we were driving up I was already starting to feel the feels of memory lane. You walk in and its all there like it never left! They have a number of videos' to rent and buy. They have a section to purchase merchandise and I think I blacked out because I left with - sunglasses, cups, postcards, magnets, and shirts BUT they have many more items to pick from!
google avatar

Kayla S.

Yelp
My mom was a worker for this place but in Norman, Oklahoma! But she quit when I was born, so yeah.
google avatar

Eric H.

Yelp
It's 2022 and you have the opportunity to go to a Blockbuster - what are you waiting for? Even though I'm definitely the right demographic for feeling a certain kind of way about Blockbuster, I really didn't think visiting this store would do anything for me. I was wrong. Immediately greeted by the classic Blockbuster font and the nostalgic signage I was sold. I couldn't help but smile. I don't know if this place is going to be able to continue on forever, but I really hope it does. Definitely worth the stop if you're near Bend and want a trip down memory lane. And always remember: BE KIND. PLEASE REWIND.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed the "Millennial Modern Marvel" (coined that myself). Nice service and decent selection. Cool merch selection. Can't complain. I miss Blockbusters
google avatar

Nyla K.

Yelp
Takes me back to Friday nights in the 90s and my dad taking us to pick out a movie. I never knew there was a movie about this place! Bring cash if you want to buy any of the souvenirs. There's a cool museum wall in the back that is pretty cool. I was surprised to see someone drop off some movies and go inside and pick out more. I hope there is ongoing support for this place!
google avatar

Dupree J.

Yelp
Oh sweet nostalgia. First off i cant believe i made the pilgrimage here, and i cant believe this is the last blockbuster. Takes me back. Definitely a must for anyone who loves movies and grew up making it a blockbuster night back in the 90s and 2000s. Dont forget be kind rewind.

Yelp
Walking through the doors of Blockbuster in Bend, OR is like entering a time machine with a one-way ticket to 1999. In fact, the nostalgia kicks in as soon as you see that distinctive sign lighting up the night sky. This last remaining Blockbuster location is a gem, and I hope they remain open for many years to come. It's hard to imagine DVD rentals make up a large percentage of the store's annual revenue, but bravo to the folks who forego streaming content in favor of something tangible. It's the Blockbuster memorabilia that really stands out here. I was so enthusiastic to finally make a pilgrimage here from Portland, I dusted off my credit card and purchased a trunk full of souvenirs. The store offers high quality branded merchandise that make excellent gifts. My Blockbuster hoodie is well made and always garners smiles and high-5's when I wear it in public. You can also find stickers, beer, bottle openers and all sorts of fun trinkets. Visit this video store/museum/time capsule today.
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
I may be one of the only few people giving Blockbuster 3 stars, but to be honest, it's just a Blockbuster. It's a cool store, but it's mainly running off of nostalgia, which is why it's getting so many high ratings. Also, the last Blockbuster in my hometown closed only 10 years ago, so it doesn't seem that far off from me. Regardless, it's a nice shop that allows people to rent/buy movies, although I can just go to the library and borrow movies for free now. The merchandise is also quite expensive and overpriced ($60 for a hoodie and $26 for a hat). Sorry, but it just was not a wow factor for me. However, I was impressed that they were right next door to Papa Murphy's Pizza. Just like good ol' times.
google avatar

Caitlin P.

Yelp
If you know what Blockbuster is and you are in Bend, it's worth it for the nostalgic feel even if you aren't looking to rent. Fully operating, this bustling Blockbuster displays signed memorabilia alongside, stocked endless shelves. Excitingly, this store has gained popularity after the Netflix documentary highlighted their success. This shop has persevered as its brothers and sisters have all closed as the world shifts digital. Branded swag, popcorn buckets, candy, and of course movies and all available for purchase/rent. Keep this treasure alive and continue to show support.
google avatar

Joan L.

Yelp
Ok this is a blast from the past. We wandered around and soaked in the nostalgia. They even have a little display of typical 90's living room - complete with Crystal Pepsi. The people in there were very nice and we grabbed a t-shirt for the kid back home who was dog sitting.
google avatar

Patrick Y.

Yelp
Bottom line: a definite "blast from the past!" Visited this place for all nostalgic reasons instead of being an actual patron. Entering through these doors felt like going through a time portal back 15 years. It's what I remember it being: walking through rows of videos/DVDs followed by struggling with indecision of what to watch; horror, Rom-Com, action, new release... should I get some of that video store popcorn even though I have some at home... how about some candy? All of these memories surged back and the store layout is exactly how you would remember it. As reported, it is the last Blockbuster on the planet and you should visit this place if you're in town. If for anything, for nostalgic sake.

Anthony A.

Yelp
Dropped in here during my Batchelor party! Wow, what a throw back to the 90's and early 2000's. Had a good time browsing around and found the perfect item to buy to set the mood during the Honeymoon! Thank you Blockbuster!
google avatar

Glen N.

Yelp
"Be kind, rewind" - Maya Angelou I didn't drive 529 miles just to go to Blockbuster, but it was the final stop of a road trip that included roadside attractions such as Rainbow Truck Village, Japanese Balloon Bomb Memorial, and Screaming Tub Mannequin (I'm not kidding). Unless you are a local, this place only serves as a living flashback and photo op, though there is merchandise, an exhibit of media attending to the novelty of being the last Blockbuster, the site of the Captain Planet flashback scene, and some Russell Crowe memorabilia (actor's chair from Cinderella Man, a handkerchief full of angry spittle following arguments with a director, etc).

Yelp
So cool I just stepped back into the 1980s. I love the old vcr boxes, snacks & memorabilia. Amazed how busy it is, we're not the only ones here. They have blockbuster backpacks, T-shirts, even Blockbuster masks.... There's a large children center, new & retro films.

Yelp
So we watched the Netflix Documentary and two weeks later we drove a total of 2000 miles round trip! Not bad for a weekend trip and got to pick up some swag while there. I wish they had shirts but we will order those online. The Blockbuster brought back some great childhood memories. I hope this place stays open long as it can.

Yelp
I hope this place stays open forever! While traveling through Bend I insisted that we stop at the last Blockbuster on earth! We made it there 15 minutes before close, and I tried to soak it all up. Stepping inside was like being transported back to the early 00s when I'd find movies to rent with my mom. It even smelled like a Blockbuster. We ended up not renting anything because our hotel wasn't equipped with a DVD player, but it's clear there were plenty of regulars who did. I was expecting it to be all nostalgic tourists like me, but it seemed to mostly be locals renting movies on a weekend. I really enjoyed seeing all the movie props and costumes and pieces of nostalgia on display, including the infamous items from Russell Crowe that were purchased by John Oliver. There is of course also the merch. I stocked up, and now get to proudly wear some Be Kind, Rewind items around. I was a little disappointed to not get to meet the manager highlighted in the documentary about her store, but the young guy at the register was very friendly and asked questions about me. Made me so wish I were local so I could patronize the store frequently.

Yelp
I want to give it 3.5 stars but Yelp! Doesn't have that option yet. And this time I chose to give it only 3 instead of 4... let me explain why.... This was kind of an impromptu last minute decision to end our road trip since we were already heading back home to The Bay Area and we were making a food stop to bring home donuts from Portland to the friends and family. Plus the BF really wanted to go to the Nike factory. This decision was at 3:30 PM so we would get to Bend,Oregon at 7ish. Google hours are sooooo unreliable and Yelp got the hours right! We also called to make sure that both locations would be open after a 3.5 hour detour. And we were off! Upon arrival, it was so nostalgic and it was also Saturday night so kinda of a cute early 00s date night. Like before Netflix and chill ever was a thing. There were actually locals that there to pick up a video and was so gracious to help/ are pictures of us! The locals were so nice and friendly. And of course we also recently watched the Netflix documentary on "The Last Blockbuster". We filmed the whole walking in experience and reminiscing and it was kinda a dud. Not because it didn't give all the feels of going to a blockbuster and getting to pick out that one video to rent to watch cause I really wanted to. Sadly it was the employees for me. Like I get it that you guys are probably pretty tired of out of towers coming in to visit the store... but its also giving you guys a job and it supports your town... so it's kinda of left a bad experience. I meant yes we probably won't come back anytime soon for Blockbuster but we supported the store. The least they can do it just be a little bit more cheerful like how they were in the documentary. But like I said the overall nostalgia of it gets 5 stars and the employees there a 3 star.

Yelp
It was a walk down memory lane for us. I hope this place stays open by selling souvenirs. The t-shirt material was so rough that I couldn't fork over $30 for a t-shirt. More people would buy it if it was softer!

Yelp
I was on a road trip to Spokane yesterday and had to stop in Bend for some gas. When I pulled into the gas station, I was so surprised to see that there was a Blockbuster directly next to me! I thought they closed all of them, so I looked it up and turns out this is the last one. So obviously I had to go inside of it. Waves of nostalgia came flooding back to me as I walked around the building. There was still candy by the checkout lane, tons of different movies to rent, but then they also had clothes. Some of them were actually really cool and I would have bought one, but sadly the store was doing cash only transactions. I took a look through the display case which also has a bunch of memorabilia in it. It's like a place frozen in time and I loved every moment there. The staff is friendly, they have a good amount of parking, and It's just a really cool place overall. I'll have to make sure to bring some extra cash on my next road trip so I can actually buy some stuff.
