The Blockhouse Kitchen, Constantia Uitsig From the moment we arrived at The Blockhouse Kitchen, we were impressed. Greeted by three friendly staff members at the entrance, we immediately felt welcomed. The service was outstanding from start to finish — truly 5-star! For lunch, I had the cheeseburger with chips, while my companion ordered the pasta. Both dishes were excellent. The burger was juicy and flavorful, with perfectly melted cheese and a fresh, soft bun. The chips tasted just like perfect roast potatoes — crispy outside and fluffy inside. The pasta was equally impressive, featuring tender pork in a rich tomato-based sauce, with the pasta itself cooked to absolute perfection. Overall, it was a fantastic experience — delicious food, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

Fantastic for an early dinner with the little one! Great value for money and super tasty dishes, especially the seared tuna and pork belly. The service was excellent. The buddha bowl was super fresh but could potentially need some more flavour to the dressing.

The food was good quality and well prepared, however the portions are small for the price. Service was good. Had the Pork Belly and Jack Black.

This is a place you could go every weekend and never get tired of. Family friendly, beautiful surrounds and great food with friendly, efficient service from a team who are on top of their game. Wine tasting is recommended too. Some of the nicest wines and a very knowledgeable server

We had an incredible experience at the Blockhouse Kitchen. Not only was the staff hospitable and kind, they were very accommodating with ensuring my grandmother’s needs were catered for. The restaurant also offers child friendly facilities. I ordered a dirty beef burger. The food was delicious and flavourful, and the portion size was well priced! I’d highly recommend this establishment to anyone who’s looking for a restaurant that could accommodate both needs for the elderly and for young families.

Had a table of 8 for Father’s Day and booked about a few days in advance for lunch. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Service is always good here and the food never disappoints. I would put the price range on the higher side however it’s clear in the quality of produce, what you’re paying for. The kitchen took exceptionally long on this particular day as the restaurant was very busy but we were genuinely apologised to and servers were attentive keeping Us up to date. The kids area is great and you may even see an occasional monkey or the grounds peacock. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming.

As a carer, I took my elderly client for lunch. I booked ahead and got a table next to the fireplace which was great. The staff are friendly and our waitress gave excellent service. The only thing I thought to mention that although the steps going down into the restaurant are lovely, it would help elderly people and anyone who is visually impaired if the edge of each step was marked with a strip of paint or colour as markers. That aside it was a lovely lunch and I highly recommend a visit.
