Such a beautiful place with lots of history!

This place was developed with love. You can enter the "Hostel" building for free (day hours) where you can look at the exhibition with items from the former prison (it's on the left side, ground floor). Hard work was done to create this interesting place, so I highly recommend to visit it at least once!

Great location. You can tour an old prison. Now it hosts the public library and some design studios.

This is a former prison with a rich history. A very inspiring place, it's cool to breathe new life into an old building, turning an old prison into a hostel where you can spend the night, read, take a walk, eat, drink and learn about the history of this interesting building. Small entrepreneurs shops art projects library tattoo studio massage studio hairdresser restaurants and museum. There are also guided tours of the old building where you can learn a lot about history. In general, anyone who will be in Leeuwarden is required to visit.

Nice old prison with a library, a restaurant, and local craftsmen. I have been there for the Christmas market too. Overall, a must-see of Leeuwarden
