Blood Compact Shrine

A statue or monument dedicated to the Blood Compact between the Spaniards and the natives. This is usually the last stop for tour packages. They have plenty of Souvenir stores you can buy stuff. They also have statues and information about famous Visayan people of history.

Lovely setting, but the secondary displays, statues are run down and falling apart. I hope it isn't vandalism because it shows a lot of history.

The Blood Compact Shrine in Tagbilaran is a small but meaningful historical site. It marks the first peace treaty between the Spaniards and Filipinos in 1565. The bronze statue is well-made and overlooks a nice sea view. It’s a quick stop that you can include in your tour if you have extra time. There’s no entrance fee, but there’s not much historical signage and not much else to see. It would also be great if local officials could improve the road leading to the monument.

An interesting landmark to see on a sunny day. The garden area was nice to visit. Some of the statues near the entrance had information but were in disrepair, sadly. We spent about 15 minutes here.

A very historic place. The place and the locals are very friendly. If you plan to buy a lot of souveniers, the shops nearby are what I highly recommend due to their very affordable prices compared to the others in other tourist spots.

The Sandugo is a very meaningful in bohol I think that is what make bohol a very open and friendly city or town. The blood compact Shrine honors the friendship , unity and diplomacy between the spaniards and Boholano. The roads are not yet developed so be careful especially motorcycle.

The sculpture was transferred to a new location near the coast, few meters from the original site. The new location is much spacious with potential to accommodate more historical structures. There is now dedicated parking area, however the road created to access the site is yet to be paved. There are few shops offering quick bites, souvenirs and photography. There are lots to improve, but overall the experience is great.

It's a nice place to take in history or if you just wanna have a relaxing day at the park. I wish there were more stalls to get food though. There was one food truck when we went, but it was closed-not sure if it's permanently closed or not though. It might be cause it was already late in the afternoon when we went and it wasn't open.

THE BIG: Tourist attraction monument made to honor the first treaty between the Philippines and Spain. Also on the site is a big "I heart Tagbilaran" sign. THE BLACK AND WHITE: Apparently the site where the monument was built is where the Spanish and Filipino leaders performed a blood compact to seal their friendship. A blood compact is where each party would cut their hands and pour blood into a cup filled with wine and drink the mixture. The monument is crowded and usually part of a Bohol tour. You can spend a max of 15 mins there and head on your way. Otherwise nothing too fancy to look at. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Free monument that is part of a tour guide. Tons of people around so you'll be queueing for a photo but it is a significant historic place.
