"Bloom Room Botanical Gallery, Fraser Kingsway by SAD Mag. A fantastic new floral shop with a penchant for succulents. The owner, Sarah Spencer Tannahill, was the lead floral designer at Olla Flowers for the past 4 years and has some serious street cred. Beautiful terrariums and lovely casual arrangements with all the luscious must-haves (Peonies, Dahlias, Orchids). NO CARNATIONS."

Google
Well organized plant shopping experience. Lots of exotics and tropicals for the plant lover. Not pet friendly, so please leave your fur babies at home. Very friendly and approachable.

Lovely owners who really helped us with selecting beautiful indoor plants, potting them and tips on how to care for them. They even gave our two little ones a peacock feather each which was a kind gesture. The shop smells heavenly of roasted coffee, and to boot, three beautiful dogs (kept behind the gate). It was a lovely experience and we're delighted with our three plants which add a chic modern look to our home

Beautiful healthy plants and a nice selection of modern pots. They were also very friendly and helpful. I bought a really nice pot, which I could not find anywhere else.I highly recommend this lovely little shop. Here's the lovely pot I bought.

Plant nerds unite! ... this is YOUR store. Unmatched selection, design, and incredibly knowledgeable staff. I learn something new about plants every time I visit, and always leave with some kind of gorgeous indoor potting by Sarah, or a new plant for my collection. 💚

I have made some great purchases here from about 2 years, they have always been helpful with all my questions about keeping my plants alive. I have gotten some great information from them which has worked. Prices are a bit higher but you get great looking unique plants.

Google
Awesome plant shop! I guess you can consider me a person from a minority group. I was treated just fine. Staff are attentive and always ask me if I need help. They also go over plant care at the time of purchase. I've been in multiple times and think about going everyday but need to keep my plant collection under control. So far I've purchased 12 plants from them.

I've never written a bad review before, but my experience going in to buy some flowers for my girlfriend was unbelievable. The woman working didn't look up from her phone once and was incredibly rude in her replies to my questions. I've worked retail before, and managed to be at least civil. Some days are harder than others, I get it, but damn, she needs some customer service training stat. Won't be spending money there again.

Yelp
I am now finding out that the shrivelling plant I bought from this place were unrooted cuttings sold as a full-price plant. These cuttings are always falling out of the soil because they're not even planted properly. When you buy something labelled as a "plant" that means it supposed to have roots! Reputable plant sellers will properly tell you, and put a disclaimer if something is unrooted, not fully-rooted, or rooted, and then price accordingly. And yep, shady racist behaviour. Not to mention the holier than thou attitude when you walk in. Unless you're a cool hip local friend of theirs, prepare to be ignored or scoffed at! Do yourself a favour and visit Cream Mint Florist or Trendybucks on Main instead

Yelp
Whether you are an expert or a newbie with plants this is the place for you. A beautifully laid out, we'll stocked and lovingly cared for selecting of plants and hand made pots await you. Every plant looks healthy and happy, ready to take home with you. Such a wide selection to choose from. Potted plants, wall plants, air plants, dried flowers, fresh cut flowers and giant tropical leaves are among what you will find at bloomroom. Not only can you take home a new family member but the amazing owners will pot or repot any plant for you. I myself collect plants as I travel and don't have the space or products to properly repot them at home so I take them here. There are many beautiful pots to choose (some locally made) and they make sure my new friends are happy and healthy. One of my plants had mites and they treated it and showed me how to care for it to make sure they stayed healthy. Don't be afraid to ask them anything about plants and plant care, they know (seemingly) everything and have been very helpful in my plant lady journey! Give them a visit, even if it's just to look. It's basically an art gallary of plants. Oh and visit the gluten free epicurean next door because YUM!

Yelp
I will never shop there again!!!! Yesterday I went to purchase a bouquet for a friends dinner party and like all the other times I brought my dog along as he was previously allowed inside the store. Once I arrived they had a new sign up saying "no dogs" so I tied him up outside on a busy kingsway! The young guy inside was organizing plants at the window and I kindly asked him if it would be ok to keep a little eye out for my pup since he was standing there anyway. His response " I can't be expected to watch people's dogs all day" To be honest I should have walked out then and there but since I needed some flowers I chose to ignore it. Heading up to the counter the girl working there asked what I needed and I said a bouquet would be great. She seemed put off by my response and said that bouquets started at $30. I asked her to help me make one and the vibe I got was that it bothered her to have to help me. She made a bouquet that had a small posy of roses and then filled it to the brim with foliage. If you removed the greenery it was appalling how little I got for my money. I won't be returning to this store, previous bouquets were lovely but what I received yesterday was appalling and the attitude that came with it was unnecessary. It's a store where you are intending to sell to the public, being kind and friendly would go a long way. Not worth it at all.

Yelp
A wide variety of succulents and air plants, some in intriguing and artful planters and some quite nude, ready to go home with you. But in the centre of the store, behold most gorgeous blooms. Many are locally sourced, roses, and twig things and wondrous green stuff that will make a lovely bouquet. This is an artisan atelier. For about $25 you will get a few stunning blooms to put into a modern vase you have at home. For about $75, you will have fullness with eye-popping blooms. Sorry that I did not take notes on the names of the blooms, but there were local roses, protea, some monkey foot, and other wondrous stuff. Just west of FauxBeau. Lots of street parking. Nice addition to the Dickens neighbourhood.

Yelp
Dogs, plants & flowers. This is definitely my kind of shop. They carry a wide variety of botanical plants and a beautiful assortment of pots. Today I bought a plant and I will be back for flowers. Not your ordinary flower shop.

Yelp
I've been gazing through the window after hours for ages & was finally able to go in on a Sunday afternoon. This store has the most wonderful collection of plants, conversation piece, vintage, planters, unique air plants and cut flowers. Not only is the owner fantastically knowledgeable, but she also has two handsome & well behaved adopted shop dogs If you're a plant junkie like me, this store will be your heaven! It took some major self control to only walk out with two plants.

Yelp
My girlfriend's parents wanted to buy flowers for a new business welcome and we came in and did some arranging, negotiating and purchasing. Firstly I love the smell of flowers when walking in, it made me feel like summer, especially since these days the weather has been making me feel otherwise both emotionally and physically. I appreciate their unique arrangements. They also will do custom arrangements. Great customer service and super knowledgeable.

Yelp
Ridiculous NO DOG/PET POLICY @ BLOOM! I have been a patron of the store in the past but was told to leave today due to their "No Pet Policy". I should emphasize that I came in CARRYING my 6lb senior Chihuahua because it was so hot outside that I felt it was unsafe to leave him in the car. After about 30 seconds in the store, I was approached by the owner & asked to leave. When I said that no city bylaw or heath regulation prohibited dogs in Flower Shops, I was told it was their "Personal Policy" to prohibit pets. I really don't understand why the shop presents itself as being dog friendly on social media. I wish I had not wasted my time & energy in driving here. Flowers are nice but I will not return due to their "prickly attitude". Pet lovers: BOYCOT BLOOM!

Yelp
This is the spot to get more than just flowers for your bouquet. Interesting, funky arrangements with selections you're unlikely to find anywhere else in the city. They also have an eye for vintage finds-turned-planters... Can't recommend this place enough: show someone you love the love and buy them something nice.

Yelp
Beautiful little flower shop in the hipster corner of Kingsway and Fraser. The shop is decorated tastefully and has a beautiful selection of small items to add around the house. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Great spot. Great service and a good first experience. Although they did not have what I wanted the lady working said she was bringing more plants in next week and to check back. I will for sure be back for the great service and advice.

Yelp
Super cute space, was looking to buy 25 succulents. I drove all the way there in the pouring rain and was basically laughed out of there when asked if I could get a volume discount. $6 a succulent is more expensive than other places in the city. With those prices they should at least offer nicer customer service.

Julia L.

Yelp
Didn't even know about this place until I was looking for some new plants. Owner was the only one there and never said a word to us. Lovely, but the prices are OUTRAGEOUS (the pretentious name should warn you). South Granville prices at Kingsway and Fraser? Good luck with that. Go to Southlands Nursery. Amazingly beautiful, great selection and great prices. I got a fig tree there for $10. This place won't last.

Yelp
Looks beautiful, but it's never open. Supposedly open on Tuesday, went there today to find a closed sign. Again.

Yelp
Not only does this place have an amazing selection, the owner and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I know nothing about plants or flowers, and they've been amazingly patient with me, helping me to select the right plants for my place, and even going above and beyond helping me to diagnose and revive a plant I purchased somewhere else. So friendly and kind, every time I go in to this shop. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Yelp
I'm giving 1 star just because of the unique selection of plants and because you can't give a zero. Other than that, what a miserable experience. I was on a mission to buy some air plants for a project. Their online selection looked pretty good with many different types and sizes. So I made the trek from downtown. As soon as I walked into the store I was met with a seriously negative vibe. No greeting. No nothing. Which honestly I could care less about. It was the fact that the store didn't close for nearly an hour and my questions were met with impatience and a rude demeanour. I decided against buying the larger and more expensive plants which I needed and nearly actually walked out with nothing. I picked out 3 plants and had them on the counter. I walked around to look at some other items and she audibly asked my husband "is she done yet" in an incredibly angry tone. I was inches from letting her have it and explaining that even if you're PMSing or you're having a shitty day, treating customers like they are a nuisance is not a great way to run a business. Like wow. Be somewhat grateful and gracious. Or even helpful. I'm spending my hard earned money to keep you in business. Needless to say I won't be back. I'll tell my friends not to shop there and I hope people who read this will stay away. This kind of behaviour is extremely off putting and unacceptable in any kind of retail environment. I've worked in retail many times over the years and your customers are your life line. I've gone to work mad, sad, depressed, been treated like crap by customers, and NEVER treated a customer with the disdain and hostility that we were met with. I literally felt like I was the biggest inconvenience that had happened to her all day. Ugh. Too darn bad.

Yelp
A beautiful shop with a great selection of unique plants. Sarah was very friendly and helpful in helping me pick out some hanging terrariums for my business. As well, I grabbed some amazing looking jade plants that are planted into a ball of soil that is wrapped in twine and hangs upside down. It was the final touch my store needed. I will definitely return when the time comes. Thank you!

Yelp
This little shop is great! They are very helpful to someone who doesn't have a particularly green thumb when it comes to indoor plants. I just called and talked with Sarah, and she said I could take photos of my problem plants and email them to her. How cool is that?! It's a beautiful shop and they have lots of very unusual and interesting plants. If I lived in a house with more sunlight, I'd be spending more money there. Hopefully someday...

Yelp
received a valentines day bouquet and was very disappointed in the state of flowers when they arrived on my doorstep. one broken off and two roses already with dried outer petals. By the next day all the gerberas had wilted!!! Overall the combination of flowers was a hodgepodge of colour and styles...non of which went together and once I removed the fillers, I was able to make two completely different bouquets which didn't last beyond a few days. No packet of floral food included. Overall a very disappointing bouquet which I think cost about $75.00 a complete waste of money. What is more disappointing is that I received no reply to my concerns when writing to their website. :-(

Yelp
I visited this place as soon it opened. The staff were so lovely and helped me find plants that would thrive in my dark dungeonous basement suite. Now my house feels more like a home!

Yelp
I used this florist when ordering a bouquet remotely (that is, from the UK!). The owner was very helpful and positive in a first phone call, and then took great care to get the order right via an email and a further phone call. She even offered to take a photo of the final product, and when the two photos came to us we could see why the recipient had been so thrilled. All this was very much appreciated. We had chosen this business largely on the basis of reviews, and are so glad we did so. Totally recommended by happy first-time customers.

Yelp
Gorgeous store. I've been searching for a place with a great selection of hanging plants/planters & cool pots, and this shop was perfect!

Yelp
Such a beautiful shop that just opened! I wish I had a home where I could ask this owner to create installations for me. She has a very artistic eye--fresh clean, luscious, cutting edge--the prices are reasonable and it's a very inviting atmosphere there. it's a Vancouver gem for sure! Definitely worth a visit!
