We discovered Bloom in Chester Springs while going out for our 21st anniversary, and wow—what an amazing find! It’s southern comfort food with a flair, and the decor strikes the perfect balance between homey and chic (and they have the nicest restaurant bathroom I’ve ever seen). Happy hour is definitely the way to go here—you can snag great deals on both food and drinks. Our waitress/bartender Emily was an absolute gem—super sweet, friendly, and attentive. She chatted with us throughout the evening and made a killer mojito. We started with the Nashville deviled eggs, which had a unique seasoning twist that really set them apart. I had the Florida Mango Salmon, quite possibly the best salmon I’ve ever eaten—I’m dying to know the seasoning they use! My husband got the Pimento Cheese Double Smashburger, and it was out of this world. For dessert, the strawberry shortcake bread pudding was very good, but the monkey bread was next-level amazing. Great atmosphere, fantastic service, and unforgettable food—we’ll definitely be back!

A Taste of the South in the Heart of PA If you're looking for authentic Southern comfort without leaving Pennsylvania, this is the place to go. I ordered the shrimp and cheesy grits, and they were absolutely divine-creamy, buttery, and packed with flavor in every bite. My date had the chicken and waffles and couldn't stop raving about the perfect crispy coating on the chicken paired with the fluffy, golden waffles. The atmosphere is just as memorable as the food. The decor feels like stepping into a warm Southern kitchen-homey, charming, and full of character. Add to that an impressive whiskey selection that any connoisseur would appreciate, and you've got the kind of spot you'll want to return to again and again. Highly recommend this gem for a cozy date night or a comforting meal with friends. Five stars all the way! ★★★★★

I hosted a baby shower here. It is such a beautiful restaurant that has a cute country rustic vibe. We rented the room upstairs, which fit 45 people seated. There are narrow stairs that go upstairs and there is no elevator, so I would not recommend if you have anyone in your party that requires handicap accessibility. The room was very cute and had its own bar, perfect to host a bridal or baby shower! The food menu has high end farm to table options that were delicious. We served the chicken and waffles, smash burgers, shrimp and grits and French toast. Everyone was served at the table. The food did come out in waves so some people did not receive their food until 15 minutes after others, which felt a bit clunky. Overall we had a good experience and would recommend to others to host their event!

My friend and I went this past Saturday and had such a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely amazing — true Southern comfort with all the flavors you’d hope for. We ordered the soup of the day, field green salad, braised short ribs, shrimp and grits, cajun fries, and fruit cobbler. The drinks were strong (as Southerners do love their alcohol!), so you definitely get your money’s worth. Even the mocktail was delicious, which was a nice surprise. The service was phenomenal — our waitress, Delaney, was the sweetest and made the whole experience even better. She had great recommendations! The restaurant itself is beautiful, with gorgeous décor and a warm, family-friendly atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Overall, everything from the food to the service to the ambiance was top-notch. Will be returning with my family!

Google
First time coming here great experience. Food and Drinks were phenomenal! Waitress Talea was so attentive and inviting, shared interesting information about the menu and restaurant in general. Will 100% come back! Pictured: Shrimp Po Boy, Brussel Sprouts, Hush Puppies, Deviled eggs and Fried Oysters.

This has been one of our best restaurant experiences. Our server Joe was very friendly he made our experience amazing! He gave us wonderful recommendations all of which we took, and the food was phenomenal! Every dish we had came out hot and fresh. Highly recommend will be back soon!

Google
The hush puppies were soooo delicious. Fried to perfection, not greasy at all, soft and flavorful on the inside. The fried chicken was also perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The jambalaya was also delightful. The seafood was tender and broth was spicy but not overpowering. The only thing I didnt enjoy was the cornbread and biscuits. The biscuits were a bit too dry and cornbread was falling apart and also had a weird seasoning in it that I did not enjoy. The only downside for the atmosphere of the restaurant was that every time someone entered the restaurant a gust of cold air would hit us. Wouldn’t have been an issue if we were seated in the interior of the restaurant but we were nearer the door. Overall it was a great date night restaurant.

Google
Last night was the 2nd time my boyfriend and I dined at Bloom and this experience was even better than the 1st! The dining room is so cozy and inviting, and the food is delicious. I don't think we caught the server's name, but we had him last time as well and both times he was friendly and informative. This is definitely our new go-to date night spot. 🤌🏻 highly recommend the cheese board!

Yelp
Very nice place. Amazing staff, amazing service. Loved the fried chicken and waffle. Got some good vegetarian options as well.

Yelp
What a lovely restaurant, and beautiful atmosphere. The service is very friendly and the food menu has a variety of choices. However, it's only one page and they do have specials for the day. The drink menu is available as well. The food is so delish, being a southerner, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was not disappointed. They put their own flare to the traditional southern cuisine and it was delish. I can't wait to go back and try the other dishes as well. Casual environment, however, you can celebrate any special event there.

Yelp
We spent about an hour and a half here with a normal wait when it wasn't too busy, though our table was a bit close to the door. The cheese board stood out as one of the top three I've ever had. From the homemade crackers to the candied nuts, every element tasted thoughtfully prepared and house-made. The couch-style seating made it feel less like dining out and more like a cozy family dinner at home. Edit (a few days later): 90% sure I got food poisoning from here. The food and experience was still nice but I think there was some cross contamination with the meat and seafood or more likely the oil could've been bad on the chicken and waffle.

Yelp
Very cozy, clean and rustic but modern atmosphere. The service was friendly. They take reservations and walk ins. The short rib was sooo yummy and I liked my Bloom cocktail too! Definitely enjoyed myself and would recommend!

Yelp
The service, atmosphere, seasonal menu and quality were all we could ask for after a morning on the lake at Marsh Creek. Our server was attentive and anticipatory which was so refreshing! The food was awesome, fresh quality ingredients and something for everyone on the menu. went for brunch and had beignets and deviled eggs to start, which I highly recommend. Had a peach & blackberry salad with chicken and also short rib hash - both super tasty! We're coming back for dinner for sure! Right off the turnpike on rt100, great location too

Yelp
Bloom is a quaint, cozy and inviting local southern kitchen that welcomes patrons with a warm smile and a comforting meal. Their wonderful seasonal cocktail menu has become the highlight of my dining experience here and they never disappoint. Service is attentive and servers are extremely charismatic. I've been to Bloom 5 times for both brunch + lunch and each time I find a new menu item to love. Come hungry and leave warm + fuzzy. Recommended Dishes - Sweet Potato + Tasso Ham Hush Puppies (Hot and Savory) - Baked Mac + Cheese (Creamy and Crunchy) - Biscuits and Andouille Sausage Gravy (Comforting) - Crab Cake Eggs Benedict (Loads of Crab) - Double Smash Burger (Awesome Burger that packs a punch of flavor)

Yelp
Excellent food and vibe. We ordered the jambalaya and the disassembled chicken pot pie. Both were very well seasoned comfort food. Now, the biscuits were out of this world - perfectly.

Yelp
Stopped here for a date night. Service was a bit slow, but the food made up for it. They were all very kind and loved conversation with us. They had an extensive alcohol menu and we loved their cocktails! Jolly good is what I would recommend. The rosemary made it. I missed attaching a photo, but the potato salad was amazing! We ordered a lot to have as leftovers for the next day, but it didn't make it through the night. Overall, we want to come back and try everything else! We loved it here and so glad we made the trip.

Yelp
Poor quality control, poor management, poorly stocked kitchen, some good flavors. Arrived at 5PM, group didn't all get their entrees till 7:45. I ordered the Peach and Blackberry salad with salmon added. It arrived with NO blackberries and about 1/32 of an under-ripe peach. The dressing was phenomenal and well matched to the arugula, ricotta and barely present peach. The salmon was terrific. Great cooking, poor delivery, poor management. Similar issues with orders around the table. I was comped a glass of wine. Not compensatory.

Yelp
As delectable as a Magnolia in May our taste palettes enjoyed low country meals that was a feast for the eyes and delicious. Unexpectedly took a chance with Bloom Southern kitchen and happy that we did. Service was friendly and inviting. Atmosphere was great. From the appetizers in the mid day menu delicious Collards full and flavorful. To the winter main dish entrees. Recommend Braised Short Ribs. Recommend Shrimp and Grits. Recommend cornbread with hot honey and in house butter. Stop in you'll be pleasantly satisfied.

Yelp
The food was not hot.. Jambalaya was missing scallops. The service was extremely slow... They delivered a grilled cheese that was completely burnt to a child

Yelp
Another great experience at Bloom!! I went for lunch here last week and had a great experience. The mimosas hit the spot as always! We tried the jalapeno corn hush puppies to start and they were awesome! I loved the chipotle mayo it came with. For my entree, I had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. This is SPICY! Way hotter than most "spicy" things in this area and I loved it. The chicken was super crispy and it is a very large portion. You can pick any side dish to go with it and the cajun fries were the perfect pair. I loved the dipping sauce they came with! I can't wait to continue to come back to this restaurant! Most restaurants around here don't do brunch during the week so this is a much needed addition to the neighborhood!
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
First time and we were seated in the bar area. The decor is very elegant and tasteful. We ordered the Nashville Deviled Eggs and they were good. We ordered the Ribeye and it was very thin so that was disappointing. We ordered the Salmon special dish and was okay, very nice presentation but nothing special. The drinks were very good, but very expensive. We would most likely come back sometime.

Yelp
Our first visit since this place was Eagle Tavern...yea, I know... First, let me say, what a great waitstaff. Our server Sara was exceptionally exceptional. She's been working here for a week and has absorbed the menu to an incredible degree, is gregarious and as pleasant as can be. And the other servers and front of house managers were all pleasant, helpful and never stopped finding something to do. Additionally, the place is in spectacular condition inside and out. Now, the food. My companion had the boudin balls appy, and the crabcakes. The boudin balls with the accompanying grits and pepper jelly were a wonderful bite. She enjoyed the crabcakes although from my perch they looked to be a bit more filler than crab. I had the arugula and beet salad, and the beef short ribs. The salad was fresh and with the sliced pear and blue cheese offered a verity of textures and sweet and bitter goodness; highly recommended. The short ribs, while tender, weren't well seasoned and came with large chunks of unrendered fat. All in all, thanks to Sara and her coworkers, a good first visit.

Yelp
Great food and bourbon! Bartender was attentive and set a happy mood. Located in a nice area! Enjoyed my visit.

Yelp
Very nice. Excellent. I'll certainly return. Cool vibe, easy parking. Stopped by randomly for lunch around 2:30. Haven't even been served my French toast yet and I'm already pleased. Keep up the good work Y'all!

Yelp
I can't give this place enough props. The ambiance, the food and the service were all deserving of five stars. The owner David was a pleasure to speak with. Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Yelp
The only reason I am giving Bloom Southern Kitchen two stars is because of the fresh fried oysters and cocktail. They were very good. I was excited to try this restaurant and liked the ambience. Unfortunately it fell flat. It started off with our main courses being brought out mid appetizer. The crab cakes did not have much crab and the horseradish over powered them. The half chicken was hot and well cooked but all the other food on the place was lukewarm. Despite not eating most of the food the waitress did not ask us how our dinner was and rushed us out. :( A restaurant at this caliber should do a much better job with basics, we were very disappointed.

Yelp
Awesome experience! Everything was so delicious and flavorful and unique without over-doing it. Great service and ambience!

Yelp
My husband and I stopped at Blooms for dinner, we enjoy sitting at the high tops in the bar area, which is very welcoming and relaxing. Immediately we are greeted by Garrett who was a very attentive server and an amazing mixologist! He has the personality you hope your server has. The manager, Sophia, checked on us and we can only describe her as a person with such positive energy and enthusiasm. She is all about her customers having a good experience. She is an incredible asset to Blooms. Now let's talk about our dinner. Presentation was on point! We love our food served hot, not warm and we were not disappointed. Delicious as usual! Our cocktails were so refreshing! So many to choose from. Delicious! I sure wish there were flights of their fancy cocktails just to try a variety. I totally recommend Blooms! Always a pleasure

Yelp
Whoa, I did not expect such a good restaurant to exist in Chester Springs! I came across this place on the whim on Google and decided to come here with my old friend. We both order fried oysters and enjoyed it throughly. It was crispy with a tinge of bitterness from the seared lemon. We shared a plate of Maryland crab cakes because I saw a fellow diner enjoying it and looks absolutely divine. It tasted divine as well! It was hearty with mash, greens, and leeks, and the crab cakes were tastefully crafted. The Cajun spiced fries were uneventful as they were cut too thin and solely tasted crispy from the fryer. We both drank tea from a healthy selection and enjoyed the lighthearted ambiance. I was surprised by the amount of diners here on a Monday evening, but this is a testament to Bloom's popularity. Service was very courteous and pleasant; I appreciate that she accommodated us--like being wishy-washy on ordering dishes and taking our good ole time enjoying the food. All of the staff members were kind as they helped us take photos, engaged in pleasant convos, and were easygoing for our requests. I can see myself coming back, and I would recommend this restaurant to others!

Yelp
We are regulars at Bloom & have always had a wonderful experience with excellent food and service, but sadly we chose to celebrate New Year's Eve with an early dinner at Bloom and could not have had a worse experience. Our reservations which we made several weeks prior for 5 adults was at 7:45pm. We were seated in the bar in a corner table with a bench on one side instead of chairs. Every aspect of service was subpar. It took about 15 minutes for the waitress to take our drink orders and another 15 minutes to get our drinks. The appetizers didn't come out for another 45 minutes so now we're there for over an hour. Those of us sitting on the bench side of the table started to have an aching back. The owner did recognize the poor service at this point and "comped" our bread basket. We thought maybe things would improve at this point but sadly nothing changed. When our food came out nearly an hour later the food was also very underwhelming. As an example, the rice in the jambalaya was crunchy and undercooked. In total our dinner took over 2 hours. We walked in a 7:45pm and left right around 10pm and got very underwhelming food. I hope that this is just an isolated event and that Bloom gets their act together because like I said in the beginning we frequent this place a lot, but will not continue if we have another experience like last night!

Yelp
Outstanding location for legit southern cuisine! The only thing missing on the menu is a real chicken fried steak! Have been multiple times, and the service is always on point! The bourbon list is extensive and the cocktail list is equally compelling. Great bar atmosphere, and the dining room is perfect. Tables are separated enough to allow for conversation. Great place!!!
google avatar

Alice P.

Yelp
Well... they had all the makings for a delicious meal but the seasoning left much to be desired. Nothing was very flavorful.

Danielle B.

Yelp
We took my mother-in-law out for her birthday to Bloom, having never been there ourselves, but my husband heard it had great reviews. We had an absolutely wonderful experience!! From the near perfect dishes (we highly recommend the shrimp and grits with Brussels, their chicken and waffles, and cajun fries- YUM!), to the friendly and hospitable staff, to the beautiful atmosphere of the wood ceiling and bright, yet soothing, decor. It's an experience we won't forget and left us wanting more. We will be back the first chance we get!
google avatar

Jeff K.

Yelp
Enjoyed this restaurant for a second time. Farm to table scratch kitchen is my jam. Perfect for date night or the whole family. Pork chop was on point but I'd skip the crab cakes as they have too much breading for a restaurant of this caliber. Place is a touch noisy but not crazy. Parking is convenient and the building is charming. Will go back when in the area!
google avatar

Bunny H.

Yelp
The food is great here. We had the pan seared mahi mahi, shrimp and grits, cornbread, and fried green tomatoes. Everything was excellent. It also has a really cute and cozy, relaxing farmhouse vibe. It got a little noisy at the end just from some larger tables around us but we were there on a busy night. They have a great variety of cocktails, wine, and bourbon/whiskey, and they also have several mocktails available if you ask.

Yelp
*Indoor Dining Review* We came here for brunch and was not disappointed, this specific location used to be another restaurant. After we heard about the new restaurant, we decided to give it a try. Everything's very well organized, clean and the food is farm to table fresh. Restaurant: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 4.5/5 Parking: Free parking lot ~Restaurant~ The restaurant itself looks very modern, and there's art works everywhere, it makes the restaurant look very warm and welcoming. All the tables and chairs are spotless. This restaurant also has a nice bar area, as well as private room for big groups. ~Service~ Our waiter/bartender was very attentive and friendly, thoroughly explained the menu and was able to make great suggestions. ~Food~ Food is very fresh (As they said Farm to table and sourced locally) and very delicious. What we ordered: -(Their version of) Cream Chip Beef - It is very good. Only complain I have is the biscuit, it is a little too dense. If it was light and fluffy biscuit, it would compliment the dish a lot more. -Fried Catfish - Fresh fish, very nicely fried. The grit and the garnish have great flavor. -Fried pickle green tomato - Very yummy -Gumbo - Just the right portion size for a starter, very delicious. Overall all a great restaurant, service and food. It is definitely one of our favorite restaurants to go for brunch.

Lisa B.

Yelp
Took my BFF to Sunday brunch and highly recommend the fried green tomatoes (perfectly coated with a delicious remoulade) and hush puppies to start with a pitcher of mimosas. Then we split the most amazing biscuits and sausage gravy and the avacado toast with deviled eggs - the flavors married perfectly with a light lemony salad on the side. And if you have room, the apple crisp warm with vanilla ice cream is a perfect way to end a wonderful dining experience.

Lee S.

Yelp
Our large group had a reservation for over 3 weeks. Loved the private room upstairs. However, the wait time was totally unacceptable. We waited over 2 hours for the few appetizers that were ordered and most entrees were delivered after 2 1/2 hours with the remaining entrees coming 15 minutes later when everyone else had finished. Chicken and waffles and the fried oysters were excellent. The shrimp and grits were not comparable to the photo posted on sight (very skimpy dish) and the shrimp were described as tough. The peach and blackberry salad did not contain any blackberries in 2 of the 3 salads served. Restaurant was unprepared service wise as well as having enough food. Very disappointed based on the reviews as the high rating caused us to select the restaurant as our group dines out monthly. The response from the restaurant after our concerns were expressed was nothing short of insulting.

Yelp
I am so glad I visited here. The place is fantastic. Elegant southern ambiance and flawless friendly service and staff. They have 3 menus, lunch, late afternoon light menu that starts 3pm and dinner menu that starts 5pm. One of the best whiskey and bourbon lists I've ever seen. Worthy of a Louisville or a Vegas place. That just there is worth the visit. I had the double burger and maybe in the best patties I've ever had. Juicy, fresh and natural taste. Also the bread was so soft but the top was crunchy. Just excellent. Plenty of parking. I'll be here many times.

Yelp
I've driven by numerous times when passing through the area and today I was finally able to stop in. It's a really cute and comfortable place with a very nice menu. Started with their house cocktail Bloom... very nice, fresh, and Springy! And to snack on I went with their Okra & Green Onion Hush Puppies with a fried caper remoulade... also very nice! And Garrett behind the bar provided great service and helped to describe cocktail options that suited my preferences. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Lunch at Bloom Southern Kitchen was a first experience for me this past Labor Day. The restaurant is located in the vintage Old Eagle Tavern. Renovations include beautiful appointments, including light fixtures that are a designer's dream. The place is meticulously clean and includes old cast iron radiators that are very, very old. Consider the fact that the Tavern was established in 1702. Is it possible that those vintage units still provide heat in winter? Waitstaff and hostess were exceptionally welcoming and efficient. The menu offers a nifty assortment of preparations that are quite different from elsewhere. The focus, of course, is on Southern renditions. One of my table of 4 thought the prices were high. Me? Worth every penny! My fried oyster appetizer with a side of collard greens were delicious with a ratio of about 50% breading-to-oyster which is better than most. My sister raved about her shrimp and grits, her friend ordered an awesome-looking omelet, and my brother-in-law wolfed down fried chicken and waffles. I enjoyed my own meal but couldn't help salivating over the other meals at the table and being served to others. Desserts looked awesome and received good reviews by those who could accommodate that final touch to the meal. The female rest room at Bloom is nice and features two stalls, a trough-like water basin and nice fixtures with insufficient lighting to touch-up one's makeup. The space was tidy and clean. Parking is plentiful and across the road lies Captn Chucky's, the pricey takeout seafood shop. Unfortunately, the seafood store was closed on Labor Day but based on past experience, it's a worthwhile stop. I'm hoping to revisit the whole shebang.

Jonathan R.

Yelp
It's got the best ambiance, great food and selection, wonderful cocktails and superb friendly service. What's not to like????

Yelp
Stopped in here for lunch one afternoon and found it not very busy. We were seated quickly and had our choice of tables. We started with the pumpkin soup which was creamy and delicious and topped with a swirl of sweetness flavored with rosemary and spice. My dining partner enjoyed one of the specials-the shrimp po' boy while I had the chicken and waffles. The po' boy came with choice of fries (they picked the Cajun ones which had a spicy afterburn. The chicken and waffles was superb served with a sweet potato waffle that was soaked with maple syrup and topped with a small ball of flavored butter. The chicken was crispy, caramel colored breast that was bones save for the attached wing bone plus a complete fried wing. Collard greens with ham were served on the side. Service was just ok.

Yelp
My husband and I went to Bloom's for brunch after church 1/14/24. The Ambiance, service and food never disappoints. Our server was Sophia, incredibly upbeat and on point with her cocktails. She made sure we were well taken care of. Wally, he always stops by and makes us feel like family. Everyone works together so well. The food was amazing as usual. Their brunch specials OMG... I had Cherry Vanilla French toast with sliced almonds and Maple Bacon, and a side of their breakfast potatoes. It was Delicious My husband is a meat and egg person, his meal was just as delicious. It is always a treat going to Blooms Southern Kitchen. Kudos to the staff. Thank you for making our first meal of that day so special.

Yelp
Visited with my wife and a friend and we all ordered the Fried Chicken & Waffles with a side of Braised Collards, everything was fantastic. Mixed drinks were all great, and we love the space, service was also great and we will definitely be back.

Yelp
Always delish! Great cocktails too! We love going there for happy hour with friends or for date night.

Yelp
The ambience was so nice. Had the shrimp and grits. The Grits were delicious and the shrimp tasted fresh. Wasn't crazy about the sauce for the shrimp, tasted like pasta sauce. The other dish was the fried chicken. The biscuit it was on was very dry. The fries were not crispy but soft. Chicken was pretty tasty. Our waitress was very sweet. But I did not like the fact that when we asked for still and sparkling that would have cost us $16. I think overall I wasn't that impressed but it wasn't bad per se.

Jake C.

Yelp
The signature dish Southern Fried Chicken is dry and tasteless. Have tried it 3 times. All 3 are the same. The menu never changes. There are so many other dining options. Avoid this one.
google avatar

Nicci G.

Yelp
Beautiful place! Food was delicious. The only thing is was the gumbo tastes more like a chili but it was still delicious! Service was great from start to finish! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Veronica N.

Yelp
This was one of the most amazing dinners I've had. My husband and I were just visiting the area and wanted to try something new. We shared a salad and cornbread to start, short ribs and fried chicken and waffles for dinner. Wow. My husband had the hot fuzz drink, he loved it. We enjoyed the experience and the service was wonderful. Hope to be back again!!

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Cute, clean decor. Very friendly staff. Food was fantastic! Will definitely be back

Yelp
Really cool modern farmhouse interior and style. The service is consistently extremely attentive, friendly and professional. I've had a number of dishes, but personally love the chicken and waffles and fried green tomatoes!

Joanne B.

Yelp
Went in for dinner & left shortly after we sat down. Could barely hear the waitress & had to yell when talking with my companion. Was sooo loud in the restaurant. They need to work on the acoustics. I expect that kind of a noise at a concert but not a restaurant.

Yelp
This place did not disappoint . Great service and decor. Food was amazing. We had Chicken and Waffles and the BLT sandwich. Both were really good. Looking to come back soon
google avatar

Philip J.

Yelp
The food was excellent and savory. I'm definitely coming back the next time I'm in town.

Karla P.

Yelp
We have eaten here and ordered take out on numerous occasions. The restaurant is very bright and cheerful and the food doesn't disappoint. We often order the chicken and rosemary waffles. It is a generous portion and we are always amazed at how crispy the chicken remains even when getting it to go!! On our most recent visit, the general manager came out to greet us and introduce himself. He, along with his staff, were courteous and appreciative of our business which was an added bonus.

Andrea W.

Yelp
The fried oyster appetizer is all crust with tiny chewy oysters. You are charged for refills on sodas. They try to trick you into getting a bottle of water with an expensive charge. This place is not like it use to be during the week. Awful and expensive. We will not be back!
