If your in a hurry or lazy to go to dufferin mall fine, if your on a budget like me as a student not working and using Too good to go for 14$ two boxes this is what I got moldy tomatoes, moldy avocado, moldy grapes, moldy apples, corn dried out, I had to throw half of it away so if you want better produce go to dufferin mall … Walmart has a better discount rack than their 7$ too good to go… from now on I’ll only be buying package things from this store… the girl that helped me the shorter one was very confused because I bought two too good to go … and this has happed three times now… and was just like whatever … not friendly at all… last photo is food I got from Walmart and no frills for 14$ double the food that will last me past just a couple days and into a month and a half

Went in because of prices the woman at the tll started yelling at me saying I was taking up her space. Just walked out! Lots of flies around fruit and produce, very difficult to understand or communicate. Very rude and unpleasant

Great produce — I’m a regular here and always impressed with the quality. I understand some of the comments others have shared, but if all those extra services were added, the cost of food would definitely go up. The staff work long, hard days and often have to manage long lines with very little help. Please cut them some slack — they’re doing their best, and it shows in the freshness and value of what they offer.

I visit my mom a couple of times a month, and she loves strawberries, so I often go to the fruit market. The cashier, Ann, always remembers me. I'm so impressed by her kindness and her smile, even when there's a long line. Ann is a wonderful person, and the store has great prices

The store offers a great selection of products at very affordable prices. However, the cashiers can be.… quite moody… to put it lightly. I have been shopping there for a couple of years and will continue to support them, BUT I understand some of the reviews about the service. Honestly, though, you're not really going there for five-star service ;)!

This place is nothing short of wonderful! A great selection at super affordable prices. Very nice people too. The only issue is that they don't take credit card, but it is clear that they need to make arrangements to keep their prices soooo low and the quality so high. I would have them more stars if I could!

I love this place they have extremely competitive prices & always have good deals on fruit! + They always have a really nice selection of flowers. It can get a little crowded in here but who cares, I saw a review that said something about the cashiers being mean… that Is not true! They are lovely.

Here we are in December and I am eating strawberries that taste like sun ripened August, for 2.99. Two packs of blueberries for 4 bucks. Arugula, green onions, kale, bananas, peppers, and some flowers. Total under $20. And the service is fast and so friendly. I think because so many people shop here, the produce turnover is high, and thus everything is fresh. I love this place.

The plus side.. Quality and better priced fruit than any grocery store in Toronto. Downside Terrible debit system, cords wrapped around the cramped cashier.. if u see that line with more than 5/6; leave.

The venerable BLOOR FRUIT MARKET at the corner of Bloor Street West and Manning is an oasis of fresh quality and inexpensive Western & Asian fruits and vegetables attended to by a small army of hard working folks replenishing the stocks and computer sharp checkout ladies knowing the last decimal of everything. It's a preferred go-to location with better quality items at lower prices than our behemoth grocery chains.

Gem for the neighbourhood! I hope everyone who lives in the area realizes how lucky are having alternatives to huge, chain grocery stores where all the produce is easily twice the price of this place. Is it cramped? Yes. Can the workers be friendlier? Yes. However, as-is, it's GREAT for the produce you need AND they also have cheap flowers!!! Have cash on you! P.S. I believe you can buy just 1 of the 2/1 deals, e.g. 2 double pints of blueberries for $2, you can buy just 1 at $1.

You can't go wrong here. Prices are extremely reasonable, and the selection is plentiful. Summer and fall months are particularly good because they promote and sell Ontario produce. If you are looking for particular vegetable(s) used in Korean food, you may want to go across the street to Pats. However, this fruit (and vegetable) market is really solid. Have been going there for years. Cold in the winter - seriously, you'll need your gloves inside. They save on the heating costs and in turn, you don't pay super-high prices for your produce!

I figured it was time for an update. I'm still a fan of this place for the following reasons: 1. Selection - a huge range of produce from all over the world - not to mention our often overlooked but much loved Ontario grown products. Currently have seasonal foods like persimmons, chestnuts, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries (okay, maybe not so seasonal). 2. Price - it's hard to beat any of their pricing - I can still find organic berries here (mid November) for the same price OR LESS (!) than in most grocery stores. You really do get your money's worth. Today I came home with some great organic sweet potatoes, asparagus, a bag of fancy mandarin oranges (with the leaves), a big bunch o'bananas, a bunch of tulips, green beans, a bag of avocados ($2.50 a bag - RUN!) and some cool looking (grey) mushrooms - it came to just over $20. I've gotten over my resentment of their hours as it's still a great place to shop. It's still cash only but they now have two cash registers, so lines move faster (I just go when there aren't any). Continuing to keep scurvy at bay... : 0 )

I LOVE this place! I try to buy all my fruit and veg here. I prefer it to all the ones in Kensington, it's cheaper. Great variety of fruit & veg plus cheap herbs (fresh for 99 cents) and some nice flower choices. Opens really early (8am?) and stays open until around 9pm.

The best fruit market I've been to out of 6 or 7 in the Kensington / Little Italy / Koreatown area in Summer 2009. PROS: - Good / very good prices on generally average to slightly above average produce. - Look in the pic for what I got for $10.39! - Example - Some types of berries for $2.00/pint... note - prices often quoted at for instance 2 for $4.00, but in my experience one is still only $2.00. - They will properly pack your berries CONS - Eh, I think I'm bringing home a few more fruit flies than I'd like. - On the first few visits the apples and pears haven't looked great - Its clean for its peer group, but its no Loblaws. This is the best I've found in the summer... will be interesting to see if prices are still relatively good in the fall.

Reasonably priced fruits and vegetables, even organic stuff too! I spent about $20 but definitely have enough food for a week. Cash only.

Amazing selection, even better prices. I get almost all my produce from this place. The owners are also very nice and friendly, and their produce is always good quality. Sometimes the more exotic produce they carry is a little random (they always have basic staple vegetables and fruits in stock) but you can get things like coconuts and golden kiwis for a really good price when they have them. The only thing you need to know is that this place is cash only, but there are ATMs nearby if you need them.

Easily the best combination of price, quality, service, and selection in the city. If it grows, buy it here. Seriously, whatever is in season they seem to always have the best version at the lowest price anywhere. Was able to follow the North American blueberry crop cycle this year starting with Florida (meh - but at least they were fresh) on to North Carolina (Organic! 2 pints for $3.00 !!!) then New Jersey (no really, they grow amazing stuff - the blues were superb!) then a jog out to California, back to Maine and then onto Ontario and BC. Even the local wild berries were only $2 a pint! Assuming that not everyone is as blueberry obsessed as I am: Salad greens - Amazing selection - boxed, bags, celloed - they've usually got spring mix, romaine, baby spinach, and arugula. A few weeks ago they were selling boxed organic spring mix for $1.50. Their $1.99 bag-0-greens at the front counter are always fresh and an insanely good value. Mangoes, Peppers, Fresh herbs, Melons - All fresh - All cheap Take a BIG recyclable bag and $10 and you will FILL IT with an incredible variety of the freshest, tastiest fruits and veg that you will NOT find at your unfriendly neighborhood stupormarket. Again, If it grows, buy it here.

Some veggies are quite expensive but they're all very fresh! Loved the fruits; bought so much when I first went because I simply couldn't resist!

Believe the hype: this is easily the best spot for fruits and veggies in Toronto. Almost comically cheap (i.e. bell peppers for 1.49/lb, 2 tubs of organic spinach for $3) and generally very high quality produce. Helpful, friendly staff. Cash only, but bring $20 and you'll be set for the week.

Bloor Fruit Market aka Manning Market is the best! Looking for fresh, cheap, local and/ or organic produce? This is your place. They literally have all the fresh fruit and veg a person could ask for at such reasonable prices. It's actually ridiculous how great the deals here are. Also, definitely get some fresh cut flowers here too. Such a nice take away after saving so much on your produce. Remember, cash only.

This neighborhood has no shortage of fresh, local and organic produce. Prices are great, there's high turnover of the produce here. The prices at this fruit stand are much better than Loblaws or Fiesta farms but I like to diversify as I find certain things are superfresh and crisp at those two grocery stores since they keep all produce refrigerated every step of the way. The lady that most frequently works at the counter is a huge Fruit Nazi, she wants you to have your cash ready and she tends to bag your produce instantly if you don't tell her not to when you have your own bags/cart and she tends to ring up the next person while you bag your produce and count your money to keep the line going..she's quick but it comes off as rude, and by rude I mean Nazi. All in all you save money by shopping here, and they have a few organic items here and there which you also save on.

PROS: This is where to get some of the greatest prices on fresh produce in downtown Toronto. I'm talking two pints of blueberries for $1 and six limes for another $1. What is great is that the prices are phenomenal AND the produce is FRESH! So many people go through the place that the produce is constantly being re-stocked. Pretty great selection of fruit, including some of the nicest mandarin oranges this last winter. Opens late! 8/9pm-ish. For salad/greens lovers: they sell both salad in plastic boxes and bags. The bags of salad that they put together that you can find at the front counter are really decently sized and around $2. CONS: The space is pretty small. It can get cramped in there. You might find yourself saying "excuse me" a lot, especially if you're like me and often have to go back through the place a few times because you forgot to pick up garlic or lemons.

My favourite fruit stand in toronto. I buy a lot of veggies and the price/quality/range here is the best. Plus the staff is really friendly. Just make sure be quick at the counter if the line is long ;)

One of the best fruit/veg grocers along Bloor between Bathurst and Christie, for sure. They have a great range of fresh produce - especially what's in season - and you can often get great deals on pints of berries, cartons of peaches, prepackaged fruit/veg, etc. Prices are really reasonable in general, though! They have an excellent range of greens, herbs, and asian veg, too. Nom! On the whole, quality is up there, although occasionally you might have to sift through to find flawless stuff. It's never been too bad, though. I can usually pick up everything I need here, be it fruit, vegetables or herbs, and not have to go searching elsewhere for stuff.

4.5 stars. Lovely prices for organic produce. Had only $20 cash on me (cash only?), and was able to pick up 2 x .5 pints of org. blueberries (for a paltry $2 each); 2 pints of org. raspberries (2 for $7); 1 salad ($3.5); 1 org. kale ($1.99), and one mango for $1.5 Total was $16.49. Guaranteed to cost more elsewhere. Produce was generally fresh. Brands were known (Cal-Organics; Foxy;...). There was a long line-up, but it didn't take too long to get through - 5 min. or so. Cash only, I think. You can always check if they take debit, if needed, before you head over, or do any shopping.

A great thing about living in the Christie Pits area is the Bloor Fruit Market. Like many sprinkled around the streets of Toronto, this little store is jam packed of fruits and veggies that are fresh, Ontario grown and well priced! If you don't live directly in China Town you may not have access to the hordes of vendors that line the streets there. Instead, it's great that you can walk just a few minutes down the street from the Christie subway station and have a smaller version of this. Find Bloor Fruit Market open all year long at the corner of Bloor and Manning.

Great prices, close to the subway. They don't have everything and its tiny but definitely it beats no frills prices.

Best green grocery in Toronto, no question. Love the people who work there almost as much as the selection and quality of produce (not to mention the price)

I live between here and Metro and I definitely prefer to get my fruits and veggies from here! Not only do they have really good deals on seasonal vegetables but they also have some that aren't carried at regular grocery stores like jackfruit.

Only a great deal if you're charged the sticker price. If you aren't looking when they ring you up, you're not getting it. Pay attention, there are no itemized receipts here for a reason.

Caution over your total! I shop here 1 - 3 times a week and find it convenient and the turn over is fast so the fruits, vegetables and flowers are fresh. But, they ring you up so fast you don't know the breakdown, so keep a running total in your head so the check out you already know what the total should be. The last two visits I observed a "slight of hand" tactic where the guy in front of me got charged over $40.00 for purchases that were obviously less then $20.00 in value. He was holding a $20.00 and was stunned, yet he dug out another $20.00 but looked bewildered. A few days later the same thing happened to me, I got run up for $42.00 for a purchase that was about $18.00. I keep a running total in my head and insisted they re do the calculation and sure enough the purchase was under $20.00..... be forewarned!

Best fruit in the city, hands down. Awesome fresh and cheap. You go to the regular markets and you're a fool. No better place. Just show up and fight amongst the wise ol' ladies for the choicest picks.

The best spot for well priced, fresh produce on Bloor. They carry both organic and regular at competitive prices. Always a great selection and a one stop shop for fruit and veggies. They get busy on the weekends and the 3 "aisles" can be a tight squeeze. The ladies running the cash register are fast, efficient and always friendly.

This is a terrific little fruit and veggie store. I feel like I shouldn't write this review so I could keep this to myself. No, you should find this too! Very good price and quality balance. The space is limited but they have a great selection. The problem is how to carry all the goodies home... ;)

This place is so cheap, burglars should break in and leave them money. No nonsense fruit and veg, that doesn't cost a kings ransom. Cash only! Just watch your ass because the aisles are tighter than a nun's chuff.

I've never been to or given a fruit store one star, but I'm in a big foodie so I spend a good amount of time shopping for the right produce when I'm there- I went to the cash and after totaling everything they go "cash only, go to bank," and say they'll wait 5 minutes and keep my order as they were just about to close. I ran to the bank a half block away and back in 2 minutes, came back and the lights were off & doors were locked. I found to be so disrespectful and selfish to do, especially when you'd think they'd want to keep customers? They kept jamming into me while I was shopping too, 30 min before closing with their carts to put produce away. Then a lady came and moved me with her arm, not aggressively, but you just don't touch someone to move when you can ask verbally. And she spoke perfect English. They do have good produce, and slightly lower prices than the other couple fruit stores around but I'd rather support a business that shows respect, or is at least neutral.

I've been buying all my produce here since I moved into the area about a year ago. I'm consistently impressed by the selection and prices. Made countless stir-fries and soups. Sure, it can get cramped and it's cash only, but those are minor issues. They even have cartons of extra large eggs for 2.69 which just saves time having it close by. Berries for all!

This place is so great I won't take a point off for not accepting debit or credit. It's quick and efficient but still always friendly, carries everything in season, sells organic stuff at great prices. Haven't gone anywhere for produce since I discovered it and will probably come long after I move out of this neighbourhood.

I have enjoyed shopping at the Bloor fruit market both because of good selection good prices and good organic prices. My issue however is that for those who would like to observe at the cash what they are purchasing it's next to impossible. The cashiers are so fast which in and of itself is a good thing however my beef is with the accuracy. Most times there's a lineup and it's almost embarrassing to ask them a question so I and I assume most people don't. A while ago I looked at my receipt when I left the store and realized there was an error on my bill and so went back and the woman apologized. Tonight I came home and looked at my receipt (which they don't always give you) and noticed I was charged for nine items I counted and double counted when I in fact only bought eight items. I believe I was also over charged for at least one item. Are they just too fast and make mistakes or are they gouging a little here a l there. I think the answer is either I stop shopping here or ask them to slow down as they are ringing things in . I'd be interested to know if anyone else has noticed the same sort of thing .

This is the cheapest and best place to buy produce in the neighbourhood. It's always busy for a good reason. They have a big organic section if that's your thing, but otherwise they have a good selection of most produce to fill up on. Not everything is always ripe, but for the convenience and the price this place cannot be beat.

Love it - so cheap. A rotating selection of fruits and veggies. I've also had good luck with the plants and flowers.
