Out for a girls’ weekend, we had passed by this place earlier during the day and noticed it was packed. We all know that’s a good sign, right? So, we decided to stop in rather late that night for dinner and drinks. Luckily, the kitchen was still open! The bartender and our server (the sweetest girl ever visiting from Romania) were wonderful. The Blueberry mules were delicious! Our late night dinners consisted of some pretty amazing birria tacos and Colorado Nachos. We also couldn’t resist dessert to go and let me tell you…don’t pass up on that cheesecake flight!

Google
Would rate this place zero stars if I could. We had a semi-large party and they sat us at two separate tables. Our table's sushi was served to the other table and they expected us to get up everytime we wanted the sushi that WE ordered. The owner did not offer to fix it and bring our food to OUR table. He brought us a spatula from the kitchen to transport our food. All of the toppings were falling off and not good at all. Absolutely ridiculous. The owner does not care about the customers or the quality of his food.

Paul S.

Google
Took a quick drive to Ludington and had a great sushi dinner. Delicious sushi and Jesse M provided terrific service. Best restaurant in Ludington. The spicy seaweed salad is definitely spicy but really good.

Sofia L.

Google
Owner is very rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. Our party took up two tables and all of our sushi was served on one plate. Instead of taking the tray back and taking accountability, we were handed plates, spatulas, and tongs to plate our food ourselves from the other table. All of our food came out at different times leaving our party waiting for each other to finish eating. -100/10 recommend.

Google
The food and service here was very good, we both got the Sockeye Salmon Burger and it was GREAT. The atmosphere and music was very pleasing too!

Google
This restaurant is extremely weird. It really doesn't have an identity. The menu has five different styles of cuisine and then they have a full bar that takes up half of the restaurant. I mean, if you have a group of people who really want Mexican, sushi, pasta, barbecue and American food then this is the place. The wings were pretty good but the sauce wasn't house made, the grilled chicken wrap was mediocre but the ranch was bad. I also think the prices are just a bit steep. Which wouldn't be bad if the food was good but it's not. Then to top it all off, my wife's wrap came out of the kitchen about 20 minutes after everything else. They did apologize and gave us $1.80 (10%) off....

Google
Fantastic and fun! Great music, awesome inside, outside or deck seating. You’ve got great food and fantastic drinks, what else could you ask for? The super friendly and fast staff are what makes us come back every time!

Renee A.

Google
This was the worst food I have ever had. The salsa was literally tomato paste. The quesadilla was only a big pile of greasy burger with no cheese or veggies. I couldn’t eat any of it. Worst food and worst service. So disappointed.

Yelp
Outdoor rooftop seating. Prompt service with a smile. The Lobster Nachos are fabulous.

Yelp
Well ... our most recent trip was a real disappointment. The pierogi is off the menu, which is too bad because it was fabulous and not something you could get anywhere. Tonight we went with the burrata ravioli and homemade sausage, which was fine. The sausage was toasty. The sauce was nothing special and the whole thing was under seasoned. But the fish and chips was really bad. The breading on the fish is super heavy and came out very dark. It smelled strongly and the fish itself was barely cooked. The fries were super soggy. Our kind server did offer a bit of a discount on the fish which was appreciated. We were sat in the adjacent room, which is fine. But odd there is no music playing on that side. Used to be one of our favorite places to eat in Ludington but this was an unfortunate experience.

Ron R.

Yelp
Definitely not my favorite restaurant overall. While there are occasional days when the kitchen puts out good food, most of the time it's disappointing. The inconsistency really hurts the experience, and it seems like the chef needs to get a better handle on the kitchen staff maybe even consider a new chef or sous-chef. That said, there are some positives. When the food is good, it is genuinely good. And the tiki deck is hands down my favorite part of the place it just screams fun. The lighting is fantastic, and the service is pretty awesome. I just really wish the kitchen could match the vibe and energy of the rest of the restaurant

Yelp
We ordered sushi and while it tasted good, it wasnt rolled well at all. the roll practically fell apart and another person in my party got the same roll that looked completely different. the inconsistency was a problem. a few servers were wearing crop tops (literally looked like bras) and actual booty shorts. just looked very unprofessional. ive come here a lot but haven't in the past couple years and apparently in that time it's turned into hooters....

Brooke B.

Yelp
I went to this place last night, and wow, what a disappointment. We waited like an hour just to get our appetizers. An hour! And it wasn't even busy. The waiter kept saying the kitchen was backed up, but I saw like three people in there just standing around. They were very understaffed. Our waitress seemed like she was super high! The sushi did not look like it was expected it took about 45 minutes to get our food. Fish and chips were good. We paid with cash and our waitress kept bringing food out to other tables without giving us our cash. Don't come here. i expected way better.
google avatar

Amie W.

Yelp
Good. They have a wide variety of food. A couple of the kids ordered sushi and they enjoyed. The potstickers are good, but the sauce they were served on was plain soy sauce, so it was quite salty. The cheddar tots were good - had a kick. The bang bang shrimp was really good. Our server, Hannah, was great!
google avatar

Yelp
I have used yelp for years and a restaurant has never warranted a review until now. The local rock shop recommended this place to us. To start, we ordered "alcoholic" drinks that had less alcohol than bread. After ordering, we had enough time to play a full game of catan (45 minutes) before receiving our food. The burgers were a sad display of cooking and the fish and chips were mediocre. The reason I am writing my first review is because the chicken served still had a pulse. It was just as dissatisfied that it almost walked out the restaurant. We notified the waitress of the raw chicken and requested to remove it from the bill. The waitress apologized but obviously it's not her fault. After that, we did not receive any condolences from the manager or anyone else. I will note that Philadelphia roll was good though.
google avatar

Lindsey K.

Yelp
Full disclosure we did not get food. We were seated for 10 minutes and no one came to our table so we left. They did look very short staffed but we didn't feel like waiting any longer because it appeared everyone else seated had been waiting a while also. The table next to us did get their food, but not a sauce they ordered. The menu also looked a little on the pricy side. They offered rooftop seating but it was enclosed and didn't feel rooftop.
google avatar

Dave C.

Yelp
We were in the main floor bistro, not the rooftop. Lots of choices. Food is good, well above-average. Full bar. Service was great for us; we did go early (5:00 PM). They have daily specials; I had the sushi; my wife got the ribs. They have vegetarian options. Eclectic stuff like a "Pierogi Bowl". Half-dozen dessert choices.

Lily H.

Yelp
True authentic food! I have never seen a menu with such a wide variety of food to offer. They offer traditional American food, Mexican food, seafood, sushi, etc. Everything we ordered was great! 4/5 because the drinks took about 20 minutes to come out, 5/6 of them were canned beers. Besides that, the food was fantastic! Kudos to the Chef/owner!
google avatar

Greg W.

Yelp
Listen to the other reviews. If you want some good vibes on a rooftop patio with good drinks, then this is a cool place. This place has so absolutely bad food. The only saving grace was the tortilla chips which were warm. Garden nachos just had a bunch of canned corn, beans (not refried like menu said), jarred salsa, a package of sour cream, and shredded lettuce. Luna wrap had to have had the same "steak" that they use on tacos and nachos. It had a cumin taco seasoning taste but then they added lettuce and horseradish and somehow it's different. All for $20. Lastly, they charge a 3.50% admin fee. For what? We don't know. But it was on the receipt. Come for the booze, skip the food.

Joseph T.

Yelp
Wait time is absolutely atrocious took 50 mins to get drinks (restaurant wasn't even close to packed let alone half full). Our appetizer took around 30 mins to get to us and they shorted us one of our wontons. On the bright side the wontons were amazing!!! Food followed about 10 mins later. I got the burger and fries were pretty good lukewarm at best and I ordered bacon and never got it. My sister got the $20 ravioli and got 5 pieces. Just a heads up, they do not ask how you want it done and the burger was $25 and I've had much better $15 that they ask you how you want it cooked. Not a great experience in the least.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Went to the rooftop, not at all what was expected. The service was good but the food was gross. We ordered birria tacos, the perch, and chicken tenders. The ranch was also gross.
google avatar

Yelp
AMAZING!!! Kind workers, beautiful lighting and rooftop view. Drinks and food were all super good!

Yelp
My mom and I stopped here for lunch today before we left to drive back downstate after the 4th. To say it was a disappointment is an understatement. We went to the rooftop to eat, and were told it would be about a 15 minute wait, which was tolerable. We were seated around 1:30 pm, about 15 min later. Our waitress came to our table, took our drink order, came back with our drinks, took our food order, and we never saw her again. Fast forward about 25-30 min later, we had to ask another waitress for a refill on our drinks. Another 20-25 min go by, and no one has acknowledged us, not even the other waitresses. It felt like we were invisible, even though we were sitting in the middle of the room. We asked another waitress when our food would be out, and she said she would check. After that, another couple who sat down after us got their food and my mom and I decided to get up and leave since we had waited nearly an HOUR to get our food. While walking out, we told our waitress that we had been waiting for almost an hour, and she said that my ham sandwich was ready, however the kitchen was "backed up". I'm not sure how that was true since everyone else has their food. Our waitress said she would bring my sandwich out in a minute, however my mom's nachos still weren't done. We waited about 5 more minutes before my mom went up and grabbed my plate that was still sitting on the shelf untouched. She came back to the table, and I noticed that I had potato chips, when I had ordered coleslaw. This wasn't a big deal to me, but since my mom was already heated, she went back to the food shelf and yelled into the kitchen for coleslaw. After that, my mom finally got her nachos and our food was honestly mediocre. We had to yet again ask for the bill, and ask for it to be taken back. While we were leaving (2 hours later), I heard someone say loudly, "Poor girl, you can see how busy she is" (talking about our young, clearly new, waitress). The staff are lucky my mom didn't hear, or else things would have been much worse. They had about 5 waitresses working the rooftop, and our waitress had our table and maybe one or two others. I understand if you're a new worker, I've been there too, but the least you can do is check up on your customers. Especially the other waitresses. I'm sorry this review is long, thank you if you've read this far. This is the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant and I will never be coming back, even to the restaurant below.

Yelp
Sat on the upstairs patio with the breeze blowing and the sun shining! Good food and friendly service plus cocktails to go! Spent the day in Ludington and stopped for a snack . It was fun sitting upstairs and outside. Good was average price and good, my drink was $9 so not bad I guess. Check it out next time your in the area.

Ian V.

Yelp
The downfall of Blu Moon must be studied. What was once one of the premiere dining establishments in Ludington has fallen to a shell of its former self, and management does not seem to care. Wait staff is ALWAYS loud, obnoxious, and seems to not even know what is on their own menu. Drinks for groups of 5+ seemingly get brought out one by one, instead of on a tray, which leads to insanely long wait times. At 5:00 on a Saturday the kitchen was already out of Ribeye and Wings, and our wait staff let us know the usual supplier for wings has not even been in the restaurant for 2 days. Our waitress gave us the wrong information on these missing food items 2 times, saying the food was not available, available, and not available again. Unbelievable. The menu is also a shell of it's former self, with a lot of the best items taken off over the past 2 years. This is clearly a management problem and it's sad to see. Staff needs to be properly trained. I am hoping this review gets to the right people and serves as a wake up call to save what used to be one of the best restaurants in Ludington.

Yelp
The atmosphere here is eclectic moody. A mixture of old and unique. The lights are dim, but not too dark. I ordered 12 Wings ($15), 6 General Tso and 6 Bistro Bbq. The wings were very well cooked and had lots of meat on them. The General Tso is tangy and really tasty. For me the Bistro Bbq needs to be better. The bbq sauce wasn't bad, I just didn't like it. I definitely preferred the General sauce. For the main meal I ordered the Pot Roast ($15). This one is complicated. The meat of it was very tender and full of taste. The gravy in my opinion was yucky. It detracted from the meal. I scrapped off the gravy and just ate the meat. The Mashed potatoes and the corn  were both very good. The garlic bread was skippable! The service was excellent. Overall a 4 star review. Would I return? Yes, but I would skip bistro bbq and not get the pot roast again.
google avatar

Tyler R.

Yelp
Ribs were the consistency of leather said they are smoked but had absolutely no Smokey flavor and had no bark. Walleye wasn't even deboned it had all of the y bones, pin bones, and rib cage. We did get some wings that were pretty good and drinks were good as well. The service was slow, forgot our drinks after multiple reminders when told about the food he asked if we wanted a dessert... we asked for the manager and she was very helpful she refunded our walleye and ribs. Wings are the only reason this is two stars.
google avatar

Brendan K.

Yelp
My wife and I came here for dinner with high hopes but unfortunately left disappointed. We ordered the duck wings, a walleye burger, a goat cheese appetizer, a side salad and a smoked old fashioned. We had to send the cocktail back as it had a lot of tonic water in it which was new to me. We did enjoy the goat cheese app tho! The cheese was great and the presentation was lovely. Entrees were okay. Not a lot of flavor with the walleye burger but the sauce with duck wings carried it; a plum sauce with a lot of ginger. Service did the best they could. Seemed like just the manager and the bartender were they only servers so I don't blame them for food being a little slow. Setting was great though!
google avatar

Rhonda L.

Yelp
Went with a group and this was a good place for us. Large diverse menu. Most of us got the pot roast which was quite good. Also heard rave reviews on the forest soup.
google avatar

Jenn G.

Yelp
What I appreciate most: They we're open past 8p on a Monday! Unlike most other restaurants in Ludington. What they might need to do to improve: perhaps focus the menu a bit. It's all over the place, so we weren't sure which items to trust would be done well. When we asked our server (who was quite pleasant despite being slammed), the pot roast & mac n cheese were suggested. So that's what we went with. And... they weren't great.

Liz E.

Yelp
Awesome sushi rolls accompanied by flavorful edame side and hot horseradish based wasabi. Beautiful presentation! A must visit for sushi in Ludington-priced to please!
google avatar

Adam S.

Yelp
The roof top is OPEN and the lobster nachos are the best! Great meeting place for family and friends
google avatar

Nate M.

Yelp
Not the best. I ordered the rueben sandwich. Was mostly sauerkraut. Meh. Replaced the chips with asiago fries for $3. Not only was the fry portion quite sad, but it was over-fried and devoid of any asiago. The drink menu has no prices. When I inquired, I found out that the most appealing (a Buffalo Trace Old Fashioned) is $16. Yikes. My wife ordered a salmon salad. She liked the salmon. The rest wasn't the best as it was overly-seasoned with onion straws.
google avatar

Doug J.

Yelp
Have you ever reheated food? How about nachos? They were good. lobster or nachos? How about both? Fish taco was good. The guy who puts terrible yelp reviews on yelp, gives his food five stars! Go on over to the restaurant. Go ahead upstairs to the rooftop. The menu is different. The sushi chef was not in. Let's get it up a star! Tag me what you think. (staff are you buy a food truck?)

Valerie B.

Yelp
After at least a year off, we dined inside with friends last week and were all pleased with our meals! Excellent service; we will put Blue Moon back in our restaurant rotation.
google avatar

Christopher R.

Yelp
Had been hiking and had challenges extremities, so came in when they were just opening for Irish coffee. Bartender said he hadn't made one in awhile but served two of the best either of us had had in ages. We were the only ones here (Sunday in winter). Gracious service, clean, retro rock music not too loud. Recommend!

Brad R.

Yelp
The good, our waitress was fantastic, the roof seating is really cool, has a nice laid back feel. The bad, the food was slow, about 35 minutes. We got two orders of chicken and it was raw, not slightly under cooked, RAW. It was so bad the waitress grabbed a piece off the plate and walked it right into the kitchen to show them.
google avatar

Rosalinda S.

Yelp
I am surprised by the 3 star ratings. My boyfriend and I have eaten here on several occasions and always enjoyed our meals and drinks. We love the atmosphere and always get delicious meals at a reasonable price. Our service has always been good too.
google avatar

Kaila K.

Yelp
I found this place on Yelp, and I'm super happy I did! I loved the sushi, and whitefish dip, my server was outstanding and we were pleased that the seating accommodated a large family! I have to say, the upstairs deck bathroom is too close to the dumpster and had a horrendous smell, unbearable. The only other complaint is that the top deck and bottom inside menu is separate and that was not mentioned or made clear to us. We still really enjoyed ourselves overall!
google avatar

Deb M.

Yelp
In town to do some hiking. It is slim pickings for restaurants that are open on a Sunday. Luckily we found The Blu Moon Bistro. They have an extensive menu, including sushi, Laotian noodle bowl and risotto. We started with the bang, bang shrimp. It was slightly different in that they elongated the shrimp. Very tasty nonetheless. We both ordered house salads and the vegetable risotto and added steak. The salads were cold and generous. My husband tried the poblano dressing, he enjoyed it. The risotto was plentiful , hot and tasty. To finish the meal, Bread pudding. I always try it if it is on the dessert menu. It was delicious. We sat in the bar area and the bartender was our server. Overall not sure of the less than favorable reviews. This is in a tourist town and that season is done. So perhaps it is people from other areas expecting a more upscale place during the peak tourist season. Check them out.
google avatar

Randy C.

Yelp
Ambiance was exceptional, and the bar kitschy...but the food was pedestrian, the Laotian noodle bowl was overly salty and the "fried" perch lacked any crunchiness associated with fried fish...the volcano roll was ho-hum and my lavender lemonade lacked the lavender I expected to tease the palate. I definitely wouldn't bury this place, as we picked items that may not have been in our best interest...will definitely try again when I come back to this amazing hidden gem of a town! By the way, the server was super sweet and was the main reason they got the 3 stars...thanks for the effort, I'll be back...promise!
google avatar

Rick R.

Yelp
Well let's start with they screwed up the reservation. Wife's birthday, reservation made 6 months in advance and then the manager tries to BS his way out of it. The food, well served at all different times was average. They told me they changed chefs. Mistake. Food was a bit tasteless to say the least. Don't think I try again sorry. Maybe chef number three?
google avatar

Terry G.

Yelp
If I could leave a review with no stars I would! Service sucks and employees are rude! Didnt even order food due the rudeness of the employees! They will not stay in business! If you want to pay for a glass for a drink this is place
google avatar

Nade A.

Yelp
Good: the sushi (although very minimal vegetarian options), the sesame balls, our server Jason. Bad: cleanliness (I.e. bathroom smelled of strong urine and the floors are filthy, etc...), lighting, drinks, food quality, flavor, vegetarian variety on menu. The customers were not at all Covid-compliment. *also, not kidding, a live Dave Matthews recording played the ENTIRE time we were there
google avatar

Jess V.

Yelp
Came here for Valentine's Day dinner. Made a reservation for an igloo a week before. Upon arrival, they tell us that they lost our reservation... and that there was no reservation under our name. Luckily they could seat us inside right away. We sit down, waitress takes our drink order, drinks were quick and yummy. She comes back to take our order, they are out of the fried fromage. So we ordered the wantons instead but she brought us the bacon cheddar tort kegs. We told her about it and she brought us the right ones. She takes our entree order, leaves, comes back and tells us they are out of the TV Dinner entree. Service was slow. They claimed they were backed up due to takeout orders. Entrees were good. We both ended up with the yankee post roast. Was hot, and really good. Ended with the chocolate bomb cake. Pretty good. Disappointed with the amount of "no's" and how many things were lost in translation, but in the end, we walked away fat and content.

Nabal M.

Yelp
i have never sent food back or complained or even wrote a review i ordered jezebel chicken it was about 4 strips about 8 hours old like shoe leather and a childs nacho it was like a child made it horrible and 30.00 most people can not shell out huge money for food like that cold i actually threw it away the dregs of what was left - never again and everytime i think about it its a sad memory
google avatar

Frank R.

Yelp
We ate up top on the outdoor deck, awesome venue. The lobster nacho was delicious!! The mgr Meli came over and insisted we try their in-house smoked wings. She was so kind as to give us 5 wings to try. They were incredibly yummy!!!! Best in town for sure!! Love this bistro, very friendly, great food & drinks. Will definitely go back!!

G G.

Yelp
The main restaurant was closed as they had a special event! It was cold and raining outside, we were Tod it was covered and heated and we were hungry so we went ahead! We should have gone elsewhere! It was freezing and the food wasn't that great and we only had a sandwich, which was very overpriced. Also beware they charge a percentage for using a credit.
google avatar

Shayne R.

Yelp
Shocked by the 3 star rating. We eat here every time we're in town and we've never had anything but great food and good service. The ambiance is upscale dive bar, eclectic decor.

Yelp
Blu Moon has been an established restaurant for YEARS and has always been good. This is so disappointing! Today's visit was horrendous. Our waitress treated us so poorly, she was also noted to so the same to other tables. I saw her mumbling to herself as she walked away from tables when upset or annoyed. We were treated as if we were an inconvenience. I understand Covid has complicated the service industry, so I have been known to tip a little extra but definitely not for this trip. My noodles were good but the fish my husband ordered had to be returned... it bordered on a health risk as it seemed rotted and had an odor. When asked to send back, our waitress could care less and would only accept that it was "too fishy" for him. I hope our day trip doesn't end in food poisoning!

Brooklyn P.

Yelp
Fantastic food, fantastic drinks, lovely staff, with roof top seating, highly recommend!! My boyfriend and I went to this place two days in a row, a Thursday at 2:30pm and a Friday at 1pm. Each day we had immediate service, sat immediately, received drinks within 5-10 minutes after ordering and food within 15 minutes after ordering. We each ordered the same drink each day, I had a rum runner ($11) and my boyfriend had a beach mule ($9) and they are consistently delicious and strong -first place I've tried that does not dilute their liquor, 1 drink felt like 2 or 3 drinks worth of alcohol. We each ordered an appetizer of nachos and the servings are so huge that one could've fed us both, we literally had half of each boxed up to take home. I highly recommend the steak fajita nachos, seriously so delicious. I'll be coming back to this place because of the high quality food, drinks and staff. Ignore negative reviews if you're going anywhere between 1pm and 4 pm because you WILL NOT be disappointed. I can't attest to the service later in the day. -coming from two mid 20 year olds.

Yelp
In town for a few weeks working and decided to give the BMB a try. I am from California and immediately appreciated the creative variety on the menu. I started with a flight of Japanese salad and decided on the Fish & Chips as my entree. Because it was a "School Night" for me I decided to behave and have iced tea. Chad our server was on it ! My salads accompanied by ginger & wassabe were awesome. My Fish & Chips were hot and tasty. The homemade slaw was also very good. The chips however were luke warm and medium well done. Next visit I will mention the Chips thang' to Chad The meal was definitely 4.75 out of 5 stars ! Thanks Y'All

Casey S.

Yelp
The pulled pork had cartilage in it! The food took 45 minutes to get. My french fries were soggy. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Even the table next to me was complaining that they couldn't eat their nachos because they were so hard!

Laurie F.

Yelp
Stopped in here for a 40th wedding anniversary dinner on a Friday night, no wait. Excellent service!! Loved the walleye & Asiago cheese fries! Also had wontons (homemade in-house) and bread pudding for dessert. Everything was exceptional! Great dinner to help us celebrate!

Yelp
I live in Virginia and my son was getting married in Ludington. Planning a rehearsal dinner can be stressful but planning one from out of town can be a gamble when it comes to choosing a restaurant. WoW!! My gamble paid off. They reserved a room for my 43 guest, set up tables to my diagram and the owner, Jordan was very helpful every time I called her. She even sliced the groom cake for us! The service was amazing and the folks are still talking about the food!!!! ( tots are to die for) Thank you to everyone at the Blu Moon. I'm a happy Momma

Mucki S.

Yelp
Food was terrible. We waited forever for takeout and then I found cardboard in my food.

Yelp
Horrible service! Never came to our table. Staff standing behind bar talking, eating and drinking.
