Pretty standard mexican fare. I had chicken enchiladas topped with cheese sauce and salsa verde and I really enjoyed it. However, the bacon on my mom's baked potato was done to the point of being burnt. The sweet tea was good. I would go back.

Google
Probably one of the worst Mexican restaurants I’ve eaten at. Bland, bland food and salsa tastes like tomato sauce. Taco salad had absolutely no seasoning and had a chunk of the butt of a tomato on top. Fajitas had no seasoning either. How can this joint have 4.5 stars? Move on, terrible food But service was good…but place was empty too.

We were seated quickly and given our drinks. Only two other tables being waited by 2 waitresses. But after 25 minutes of waiting for our food order to be taken, we decided to leave. First time trying this place. Guess we’ll stick to Guadalajara.

Service was good. Food was excellent! We have already made several trips back. Most places can't get grilled chicken right. It's either too stringy, dry or a combination of both. This place gets it. Well seasoned food and yummy queso put a smile on my face.

Google
This is my go to restaurant in Hernando. Fast service, good food and priced right. Maybe not the best “Mexican” atmosphere, but worth the trip. Consistent Margaritas! Recommend.

Super friendly and attentive staff serve tasty and well-plated meals. All entrees we've tried are delicious. We especially love the fresh chunky guacamole appetizer! Great variety of beverages for all tastes. Highly recommend Blue Agave!!!

Google
Awesome food, service and staff! Give then a try! La Parrilla, Carnitas platter, with salsa verde, and Yolandas enchiladas. White Queso, fresh chips and salsa. Good covered patio. Nice and open interior. Cold draft beer, and good margaritas.

Yelp
The food here is always good. This burrito is full of rice, beans, potatoes, and steak. The servers are good and attentive. It was quiet in the restaurant with only a few other people, but it was quite late. Like other local Mexican restaurants, their prices have gone up a good bit these last few years.

Yelp
Food is always on point here! The cheese dip as well. The service and attitude is always amazing. The ambience and the atmosphere, are another thing about this place that i like!

Yelp
Another stop along my quest for finding the best breakfast burritos led me to Blue Agave as I was in town on some business. Many stand alone old pizza buildings have been reconfigured into new restaurants-I think BA appears to be an old Ken's or Mazzios building if I'm not mistaken. Upon arrival there were several regulars chopping up the days business and hashing out the what nots of politics. They appeared to know the lone server who was incredibly busy handling seating, order taking, serving, checking up on tables and doing payout. She did a good job for all that was tasked to her. I ordered a breakfast burrito, eggs, bacon and cheese plus beans. It came with hasbrows but I had to ask for salas-wich seemed odd seeing as it was a Mexican food establishment. Overall-it was okay. Good but not amazing. I have high standards when it come to breakfast burritos and I've lived in TX so I confess that I may definitely be a burrito snob. There were regular breakfast plates aplenty, my sense is that might be their go to for the early am meal and there was a steady stream of non-mexican food breakfast seeking folk walking in to dine.

Yelp
Overall, not great. We were quickly seated as there were many vacant tables. That was great. However, the tables had syrup on it and my son didn't notice until he placed his hand it. That cost them a star. The food was quickly served. The biscuit was excellent. The French toast and eggs were good. The chicken fried steak was Ok. The grits were bad. The hash browns were extremely gross. Stay away from the hash browns, which cost them a star. When the check arrived it was wrong. The staff fixed it but it took a little explaining when the mistake was obvious. There goes another star. The waitress was fairly pleasant and that's why two stars vs one. Maybe they were just having an off day but I won't be back to find out.

Yelp
A coworker lives in Hernando so we went here after a photoshoot by her house. The parking lot is a good size, unless its cinco de mayo you should be able to find a spot. We walked in around 130 and got a table right away. Chips and salsa came super quick and we order cheese for the table. The cheese was okay, a little runny, not super thick. Mild, not spicy. So I probably wouldn't order it again. The salsa was actually pretty good though. Like the cheese, mild, not spicy. But tasty! I ordered a combination plate. 1 enchilada, 1 taco, and 1 tostada. Our waitress never asked me if I wanted chicken or beef, which was a little sad. I guess if you don't choose one or get asked beef is their choice. The taco was good. Only lettuce, cheese, and beef. Not a ton of flavor but satisfying. The enchilada was probably the best of the 3, the sauce was tasty and topped with some cheese. This was my first tostada that I've ever had, and unfortuently I was disappointed. My coworker said it didn't look like a normal tostada. It was just a hard taco shell with beef and a little cheese on top. No real flavor. So I'll have to try a tostada at another place to compare.

Yelp
We really enjoyed the food. Our service was outstanding. Price was fine. We enjoyed it

Yelp
Coming from California we have been searching EVERYWHERE for a decent Mexican place. There was another review that said they were also from California and loved it. Not sure what part but no. One of the shrimp in my burrito was not deveined . My husbands tortilla was stale and the salsa had no flavor. The rice tasted like it was either a boil In a bag or some other premade thing. Crazy cactus in olive branch is where it's at.

Yelp
Not much ambiance, but the food was outstanding. Our waitress was great. I highly recommend this place if you want great Mexican cuisine.

Yelp
EXCELLENT! Food, service, staff! This location is owned and operated, by the same owners, as La Siesta. Were we have been loyal customers for years. They have a nice outdoor patio, that called to us tonight. We were not disappointed! Fresh chips and salsa. Salsa is on the mild side for me, so i ask for extra spicy sauce too. White queso is really good! Our go to meals, The La parrilla, is amazing! Think of mixed fajitas with shrimp, beef, chicken, and YES bacon!! ( this one is not on the menu, u have to asked) the one on the menu has added Ribs, and cost 2.00 more. This meal is more than enough for two adults. The next meal is the Carnitas. Huge chunks of juicy pork meat (fat including for awesome flavor), with grilled onions. Ask for a side of salsa verde. Also, my son loves the Yolandas enchiladas. Ask for a punch card. For every 6 meals, they give you 5.00 off. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Nice, clean little restaurant in Hernando... very friendly staff, great margaritas & great serving size. Fast service... I had molcajete; not as traditional as I'm used to but tasted great. Beans were a bit watery, as was the queso, but taste was great. Thank you!!

Yelp
Honestly this is my favorite Mexican place because it's never that busy and you can get in and out easily! Service is great and the people there are so so nice! The Food is the best in town

Yelp
Amazing food, authentic, great drinks, great salsa, service was amazing definitely best Mexican restaurant in town

Yelp
Hernando has so many Mexican restaurants but Blue Agave is my favorite. The food has always been fresh and the service is top notch. Same management as La Siesta but usually less busy and much brighter inside. A few tips-- ask for cilantro and onions in your salsa unless you like the plain kind. Ask to fresh jalapeño added to any dish for a kick. Favorite dish is the Parilla Agave, Yolandas, and Special Lunch #13.

Shana R.

Yelp
My favorite Mexican restaurant in Hernando. Their drinks are good and the food is always served hot and delicious.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped at the Blue Agave for dinner Having given up on Taco Felix. This is a wonderful really Mexican restaurant coming from California we have had the best and this was just like it. Margarita was great, chips and salsa was yummy and spicy not catsup. I ordered carne Asada and had lots of nicely spiced steak and all the fixin's hubs got a fajita With all kinds of meat bacon and shrimp enough for two easily. It was wonderful we ate it the next day also. The waiter was funny and fun and very attentive. Restaurant is clean and lots of places to sit big tables little tables and booths and outside seating. We will be returning soon.

Yelp
Super family-owned feel. I love that. They found out we had just moved from out of town and were so kind and welcoming. It was like meeting your neighbor. The margaritas, flavored frozen and lime one the rocks, were super good. I really enjoyed the fajitas as well. The wait staff was very accommodating and got our order- with all our little specifications- exactly right and brought extra plates without our having to ask. I only note that because for some reason, most places don't even when you order fajitas.

Yelp
Impressed by the nice ambiance and cleanliness Monday evening. We were pleases with the cilantro salsa versus the regular salsa. Very flavorful. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with grilled chicken and ranchero sauce. Properly done anf the chicken was tender. I probably would have liked white cheese sauce on top more. Others had the chicken flautas. Crispy and chicken was properly cooked again. Our server was Jordan and was friendly and helpful. I think this is the best Mexican restaurant we have visited in Hernando!

Sneeks S.

Yelp
Awesome restaurant and awesome food, at an amazing price. Everyone there was asking for to-go boxes they give you so much!! I ended up staying until closing due to the weather and waiting for a ride and they made me feel like family. Would love to come again.

Yelp
Not good. Not bad. Was ok I guess. Pretty bad atmosphere inside. Small cramped booths. Service was fine. Wouldn't come back on purpose but wouldn't throw a fit if everyone else wanted to go. I'd really say 2.5 stars or so. T

Yelp
This is by far my familys favorite mexican restaurant. There food is always amazing as well as there service the most recent thing I ordered was the nacho fajitas to go. Our car had died in our driveway and we couldn't get there to pick it up. One of there extremely kind employees offered to drive it to our home, there employee went above and beyond and saved our night. AMAZING FOOD AND AMAZING SERVICE!!

Campbell M.

Yelp
Saw the yelp reviews online and gave it a try . Upon entering it seemed very clean however there was little to no decor i didnt feel the true mexican experience. The waitress was very nice and quick . Not many people in here though , was bland and had to ask twice for cheese dip . Felt rush to get out of there .

Yelp
Went for breakfast on Sunday mornings. Great food and prices except I did ask for crispy well done bacon and dark toast multiple visits, I've yet to see that happen. I'm not sure they understand well done. Waitresses are very attentive and friendly except for one, Rose. She'll bring you coffee but forgets to bring you a spoon every time. Yes it's trivial but she'll also bring you grits and again, no spoon. I think she's rationing the spoons. I think I'll go next door if it happens again. They have spoons and get the order right.

Yelp
By far the best fajitas I've ever had! The service is always great and everyone is so accommodating! Love this place!

Yelp
Went for breakfast on sat morning since taco felix was packed...bad choice. It took half an hour to get the breakfast special... A plate NOT full of PLAIN scrambled eggs, bacon, small cup of grits and 1 biscuit with some good ol sysco gravy! You can do much better for less at waffle house, or anywhere for that matter. Yes the restaurant was busy but so are most other Mexican joints that get food out in 10 to 15 minutes.

Yelp
The Blue Agave hasn't been opened long. The restaurant was very clean and staff was friendly. They have large area to accommodate large parties as well as a large covered patio. The food was average and prices were standard for a Mexican restaurant.

Yelp
My new favorite Mexican place. You have to try the Cielo Mar y Tierra and ask for the salsa with cilantro both are fabulous. Always had nice service and the place is very clean and pretty.

Yelp
It was a disappointment. Have read other's reviews and was expecting better than average. Have tried most if not all the Mexican in and around Hernando. The Blue Agave is my least favorite. It is clean and furnishing are current. Service was good. The food however was not seasoned, period. It reminded me of when I would go to the senior buffet with my parents, unseasoned food so as not to offend the elderly diets. I had the shrimp fajitas while the shrimp were fresh they were tasteless.

Michelle Ajax H.

Yelp
Friendly staff and amazing food! The shrimp and steak fajitas were great and my chimichanga was the best I've had. I liked the atmosphere! Enjoyable experience!
