We stayed here last week for our first trip to NYC. The hotel booking was made by my son so we didn’t really know anything about the hotel. The hotel itself as well as our room was very clean, the location was perfectly located to get to most places easily. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Room was cleaned everyday, shampoo & shower wash topped up daily and also the fridge has water, soft drinks & snacks added daily. I would not hesitate to recommend the blue hotel to anyone looking for a hotel in NYC 👌🏻

Excellent experience at this hotel. Staff extremely professional and accommodating. Went above and beyond without being asked, Marcos especially. Modern and very clean. Small lobby offering complimentary coffee & tea all day, small in-room fridge with complimentary drinks, although no coffee set up or microwave in the room. Our Junior Suite Rm 701 looked out onto the roof top patio garden. Could hardly have asked for more in relatively affordable, midtown east Manhattan accommodations.

The best experience. The customer service was top notch. The staff are so nice and helpful. The rooms are small but perfect. They are very clean and have complimentary drinks and snacks. The bathroom is stocked with shampoo, body wash, lotion and hand soap. It was a very luxurious experience. We didn’t get a chance to experience the roof top because we had a packed schedule but my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time. It’s perfectly located near some decent quick eateries, TS, and Central Park. We’ll definitely be back!

This was a great hotel! The most affordable we could find and it didn't lack in amenities. Super comfy bed, clean rooms, free drinks+snacks in the mini fridge, free coffee in the lobby and a cute rooftop terrace for lounging. The staff were extremely kind during check in and check out. We were able to stow our bags as we arrived quite early in the day. I highly recommend the Blue Angel!

Google
Nice boutique hotel at a reasonable price, especially for NYC. Nothing fancy but very clean and comfortable. Each staff member was professional, friendly, and well versed int he neighborhood. Loved the coffee/tea/cocoas offering in the lobby.||Bonus - 7th floor rooftop lounge - no bar service but you can bring your own.||The only improvement I would make is to have a little more lighting in the room and a bathroom fan. But that was minor. I would definitely stay again.

Google
Honestly very surprised by this place. Wanted a quick NYC getaway but away from the normal Times Square chaotic hotel section. This is a boutique hotel with about 35 or so rooms with 5 to 6 rooms per floor between 3rd and Lex and less than two blocks from 6, G, M Subway lines. Yes this is Manhattan but these rooms were bigger than the Hilton Garden Inn we stayed in Midtown. The room was clean, modern only concern was the queen beds felt more like full beds, but the biggest plus is the service. Hotel representative literally takes your bags out of your hand and walks them to your room, receive restocked comp beverages/snacks and housekeeping every day without asking. Additionally we noticed our sink faucet was a bit loose and just wanted to let them know we didn't break anything. Within 5 minutes the Hotel Maintenance Manager was in our room fixing the sink. Another plus is the 7th floor has a terrace overlooking Midtown East which was pretty cool. The parking garage next to the hotel is reasonably price ($35 per day through SpotHero app). Great experience.

My daughter and I spent 3 nights here. The room looked on to an office building, but it was comfortable and had a silent air conditioner. The front desk personnel were wonderfully courteous and generous, especially the gentleman who brought up our Uber food deliveries when we chexked in after 11 pm. Highly recommend.

Google
Positive: Very centrally located to what I needed to do. And lots of restaurants. Started to rain and was given an umbrella from the staff. So nice of them. Really enjoyed the drinks and snacks daily. Room was really clean Negative: only thing I can say is I expected a window but didn?t get a room with on so felt closed in and didn?t even stay the last night.

Yelp
I chose this hotel because I had to book a last minute spot in Manhattan and it was the cheapest. Everything about it was great and I would stay here again on purpose. The girl at the front desk, I should've got her name :(, was exceptionally sweet and helpful. Location was super central and even tho there weren't kettles in the room they had a hot drink bar in the lobby. Def recommend! They also provided free water and snacks in the room which was a nice touch.

Yelp
Out of more or less affordable hotels in Manhattan, this is probably one of the best ones. I stayed at Moxy, Cambria, Hilton Garden Inn, and this was definitely better. Decent room size, quiet, clean, working elevator that you won't wait for 20 mins. The staff was also very nice. While it may not be the most up to date hotel, it's in great shape and provides awesome value for the money. Definitely coming back.

Yelp
I stayed for three nights in this hotel and had a decent time but rooms are dated and not that comfortable. As you can see in the pictures, the windows had bars in front of them, there was a big hole in the carpet as I entered the room, and the queen bed was super lumpy. The tiny lobby has complimentary coffee 24/7 but that's it, no other food other than some complimentary junk food and soda in your bar fridge. There is no gym and they only gave me one free day pass to a gym down the road, even though I was there over 3 nights. The front desk staff were friendly.

Yelp
We had a great stay at Blue Angel! I booked through Chase sapphire rewards and didn't really have any expectations, but we were pleasantly surprised. The entire hotel interior is very modern and chic. Check in was seamless and we were informed the drinks and snacks in the minibar were included. There is also a small terrace on the 7th floor which would be a great evening hang out spot. While the room was a little small, it was exactly what we needed for one night. They also gave us a sheet of nearby restaurants and cafes and there was a sheet of recommendations in the room. Overall a great stay and I'd come back again!

Yelp
During our one night stay, our room must have blown a fuse and so our telephone, television, nightstand lamp outlet and air/heat unit all stopped working simultaneously. Now this is January in NYC. The night clerk could not figure out how to reset the issue and said that she called Management who would send over someone in an hour. It was already 10:30 PM. No one ever showed up. The room was G3 and extremely drafty so it got pretty cold in the room. She offered us an electric heater, which I thought was very dangerous considering that we were in the basement and the hotel telephone did not work. The hotel was unable to move our room and unable to fix the problem. When I told the manager about this the next morning, she was very rude and said there is nothing she could do, nor was there any financial reduction in the room price that we paid. Had they even given us a discount on our stay, I wouldn't be so irate, but her demeanor and her lack of empathy was pitiful.

Yelp
If all you need is a comfy bed and a clean room this will fit your bill . I stayed on the third floor & the white noise (a pleasure) of the AC drowned out the street noise . Front desk was helpful, courteous & accommodating to get me ice and help with the room air conditioning Some hotels you pay for extra frills but not needed on this trip - I was happy with this one..trying to save some money did not mean I had to compromise on clean & comfy. TV was good, slept well, but I could hear people talking on the street from my room as daylight activities were in motion. Not a deal breaker . I love NYC , part of the experience. Not a bad area either I must say, 15-20 min walk from Grand central .

Yelp
Located in midtown next to the Lexington and 53rd Subway Station, The Carvi Hotel is a perfect hotel within reach of all of New York City's attractions. I stayed here for work and was pleased with check-in, efficiency and most importantly, the cleanliness of the hotel. The staff ensures rooms are top-notch when it comes to cleanliness.  The rooms are not huge, but it was super nice inside with marble bathrooms and free high-speed internet.  There is also premium tv inside the room on your downtime.  I think the staff makes this hotel exceptional.  They were all friendly and really valued your presence.

Yelp
For members of Choice Privileges, several of the options in Manhattan are also typically priced around 30k per night which shifts the math on value. While this property was still a solid option, for a reward stay (again, comparing this to properties whose cash rates could be higher by $50-100, or more, per night) it wouldn't be my first choice for future visits. Check-in was painless and the room itself tidy, if darker and dated. In-room bath amenities were limited to soap and shampoo, but the shower's pressure was just fine. The bathroom itself, like the bedroom, showed signs of use and wear, but both were clean. Excessive outside noise wasn't a problem, even with a street-facing room. Aside from the smooth check-in, the hotel's highlight is its 7th floor patio (open until 10p daily). Effectively lacking a lobby (there's an office, a front desk, a coffee table, a single bathroom and a couch, but not much space to gather and certainly none for working), it's nice that the hotel does offer some open space to relax outside of one's room. Notes: * Examples of the complimentary snacks in the fridge? Two La Croix sparkling waters, two bottles of spring water, a can of Canada Dry ginger ale, a bag of Doritos (Nacho Cheese), a bag of Cheetos and a pack of Golden Oreos. * I typically avoid properties that charge additional destination and service fees, but respected that the Blue Angel's front desk staff was completely above-board with what the charges would be. Both the baggage storage fee and destination fee can be included in your folio.

Yelp
My stay at the CARVI Hotel NY was such a strange, yet not totally unpleasant, experience. Rooms: 3/5 - super clean, which is not always the case with other NY hotels. The rooms are standard NY size (very small). My room was on the second floor but there were no windows (?) which was perplexing to me and therefore the room was a bit claustrophobic. I also discovered my "queen" bed was two twins pushed together, and I woke up in a chasm between the mattresses. Service: 3/5. Again, perplexing. The guy who welcomed me (day shift) was fine, but very terse. He didn't really answer my questions about the bill and I heard him on the phone scolding a person for trying to cancel their room. The hotel also wouldn't let me in a second earlier than stated check in (2p) which led me to meander around midtown from 1-2 / was an inconvenience but I recognize early check in is a bonus. The night shift lady was super pleasant and helpful. Location: 5/5 My office is in midtown which was a short jaunt. Works great for business travelers with obligations in midtown or UES. TLDR: good option if you're here for work and don't have a high expense budget / if other hotels are expensive for your dates; just be ready for some idiosyncrasies.

Yelp
The front desk staff is amazing! Answering all our questions about our stay in NYC. Love the art deco theme in the lobby, coffee and cream 24/7. The garden level room was exceptionally special because of the serene space it offered including a fridge with complimentary snacks, I will always choose the Blue Angel Hotel!

Yelp
I stayed with my boyfriend here. The morning after we both developed bug bites all over our bodies. Today we called to ask for an investigation to be made of the room. The woman who answered my call was extremely rude and unprofessional. She was gaslighting us, insisting that because no other guests complained, the bug bites could not have been attributed to the hotel and that we must have gotten the bites somewhere else. She completely disregarded our concerns and I did not feel heard at all. I did not get her name but I was not happy with her customer service. All I wanted was an investigation to be opened so no other guests would have to experience what we did in the event that there is an infestation. We were both happy with our stay until we spoke to this woman.

Yelp
BUYER BEWARE: BAIT & SWITCH. We booked a Garden Room (Queen Bed w/ Private Outdoor Patio), the only reason we booked a room here were for the reason they had a private patio and instead were given Two Full Beds w/ no garden/outdoor patio. "But this is an upgrade" the concierge insists. Who wants Two Full Beds and views of a wall? Nobody, that's who. But that's what we were given for something we didn't pay for I'm having a medical procedure done at the hospital nearby so for a Mother's Day weekend, The Husband booked us a 3 day/2 night stay so I wouldn't have to travel far afterwards. We specifically booked the outdoor patio space because we have a young toddler and that was just a fantastic way to give her some outdoor time while we were able to enjoy a few drinks ourselves, something that has been rare for us parentals (if you're a parent, you can totally relate!) We had been looking forward to the garden and even invited some friends over to join us since it turned out to be a lovely afternoon. But that was ruined at check-in We had a total of 8pc of luggage-- bear with me here cause this part is essential-- 3 duffel bags, 1 backpack, small cooler for our daughter who has allergies and dietary needs so we pack all her food, 1 paper bag of her snacks and 1 paper bag of paper towels & clorox wipes cause y'know In the Times of Corona & a trashbag containing our pillows) I mention this because we dropped all these bags off prior to our check-in and The Husband was planning to move them ourselves, which is what we usually do at all our hotel stays. However, when we checked in a few hours later, we were told that "Because we had a small child and these bags" it was "closer for them to move the bags to the other room" (room is behind the concierge desk) as opposed to "basement where the Garden is" and "figured we would want the larger room upgrade". "We are overbooked for the Garden Room. Usually no one wants them because it's in the basement, it's cold there..." Yea, no sir. Was that the reason we were given this room? Because you didn't feel like carrying our bags down to the basement (now it's called basement as opposed to ground floor) especially when we never asked you to? Did you move these bags into the room so once they were in there, we'd be less insistent on changing it? Nope. Or did you move us into these rooms because then you could offer the Garden Room for a higher price, thus ensuring you filled your hotel capacity? Hmmm But most of all, why are you making these assumptions and decisions for us? The Husband who is usually very laid back was irate. I was livid. My toddler was gassy and besides herself So our friends arrive and the concierge mentions there is a rooftop on the 7th floor where we can enjoy our drinks as if this would placate us from visions of enjoying a beautiful mimosa brunch in our private patio the next morning. Fine, the damage had been done but let's enjoy the afternoon and make the most of it. Concierge said "Will you be staying up there long? I can offer you some cashews?" And in the words of my friend Dan, "We don't want no f'n cashews" but I'll take a discount or some complimentary drinks for the trouble. He muttered something about having to speak with a manager and left They offered to move us into the Garden Room with a patio later the next day but it'll be raining the entire time so our beautiful day wasted today and nothing to be enjoyed tomorrow. We leave for my medical procedure pretty early the following day so we're just really bummed about the entire situation. Not only that, the 3 of us crammed into a Full Bed has made sleep completely horrible thus I'm awake at 6:30a writing this review. The Husband has been awake for some time since his feet dangled off the bed the entire night. At least our toddler is sound asleep but that's not saying much since she crashes pretty much anywhere-- stroller, car, restaurants, sofas etc I leave this 1-star review (which is something I rarely do and am pretty intentional about what I write) because I know the impact it can have. However, I just don't want someone else to experience what we did and at least be fully aware of what can potentially happen However, I am not completely one-sided about the experience so I will also include some positives about the hotel: -Great location, right next door to my fave Kung Fu Little Steamed Buns. Give them a try (Pork XLB soup dumplings & Shanghai Buns are superb) In fact, this was one of the main reasons we decided to stay here -Nice clean rooftop space -Quiet -Very clean -Staff is courteous -They have cashews

Yelp
This could be the worst hotel I've stayed at in NYC. A room with no windows? Tv doesn't work in the am two mornings in a row? No place to congregate with other guests to eat or have coffee. Bottom of the barrel.

Yelp
Hotel is in a good location in midtown. The downside of the hotel rooms are small and shower is tiny. Staff was friendly.

Yelp
We had a fantastic experience at the Carvi Hotel. From the time we walked in, until we checked out, the entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location was wonderful, close to many things to do such as MoMA, Central Park, Bryant Park, Time Square and Rockefeller Center. Many great coffee shops and places to get food literally steps away. They offer complimentary coffee, and tea at the reception area which is great after a long day of walking around in the blustery NY wind. We opted for an inside room, which means that it had no windows. Loved this for me, because I prefer total darkness while I sleep, so it was heavenly to be able to sleep in past 6 every morning while there. They hold your bags for you if you arrive early and also if you have a later flight day of check out. Would highly recommend and would stay here again on future trips.

Yelp
We had a great stay here last week. We booked with our choice points and that was easy and straight forward. The room was clean, the location was incredible and the staff was nice. We loved the outdoor space on the 7th floor and the coffee in the lobby. They held our bags when we arrived early so we could head out into the city and they kept our bags after check out so we could go to the met cloisters. We will stay here again.

Yelp
I stayed here for 4 nights a few weeks ago. Any hotel that's under $250-300 per night is a good deal for midtown east. It's a very safe neighborhood. Here's some highlights : - clean & modern - friendly concierge - convenient location in midtown Manhattan. Subways are one block away. - in room safe & mini fridge ( free use) - soft fluffy towels - white marble bathroom with great water pressure in the shower Although the rooms are small (think European sized), the space is designed wisely with maximum storage. There is luggage storage underneath the bed. Drawers are deep enough to store clothing & closet has additional shelving above & below the hanging area. I booked my hotel through hotels.com but they sometimes run specials listed on their website. Call to confirm availability.

Yelp
If you ever go to New York City (and you should), I would highly recommend seeking out this perfect, little hotel and planting some roots there for the length of your vacation. I was so lucky to randomly come across Carvi while trying to find a decently priced hotel in a good area of NYC that wasn't infested with bugs or looked like it was a prison cell. This hotel is perfectly located in midtown. It's a short walk from Central Park and right down the street from a 15 minute (tops) subway ride to wherever else you want to go in Manhattan. It's literally the perfect location. My boyfriend and I were even able to walk to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and plenty of other tourist spots from our hotel. Not only is the location ideal, but the quality of the hotel is unbeatable for the price. The pictures that Carvi put up on their website is exactly what you get. While it may be a small hotel room for some cities, the size of our room was a perfect New York sized hotel, and it was just enough space for two. Did I mention the outside terrace with flowers surrounding benches where you can relax and drink your favorite beverage? Last but not least, the employees of the Carvi hotel were always friendly and available around the clock. It was truly a welcoming spot, and we enjoyed relaxing here after our long days of exploring. I would love to stay here again!

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE, They have a very bad cancellation policy compared to other hotels( Dont work with you at all..corrupt) , rude front desk, and very small and loud rooms.
google avatar

Jame H.

Yelp
Loud noise every 30 minutes, the front desk claims it's the AC but no AC exhausts like that. We stayed at the first floor, literally 10 feet from the lobby, so much noise and chatter, no view, it's like we were put into the basement. To sum it up, it was dusty , loud, annoying, dry and uncomfortable.

Yelp
Everything about my experience with this hotel screamed SCAM. Here's what happened: I booked my room through Priceline. I paid extra for an upgraded Garden Room, with a little outside terrace off the room. I called to confirm the chosen room and confirmed that it was a quiet choice. When I arrived at the hotel, not only were there no Garden Rooms available, I was given a street-facing room and slapped with an undisclosed $21 daily fee that was not listed anywhere on the website. When I told the man at the front desk that this wasn't what I had booked, he started giving me mega attitude! He stated that the reservation was "non-refundable" and claimed my reservation just said "Queen Room" and that he could only offer the room he assigned me. I stepped aside and called Priceline. The woman I spoke with was lovely. While on with her he suddenly had a non-street facing room "appear" and offered me that. Still not the Garden Room I paid for. The woman from Priceline put me on hold and called the front desk and personally confirmed they did not have the room I reserved. He argued with her, as well, once again stating that the room is non-refundable and explaining that he offered me a cheaper room. Priceline confirmed with him that he does not have the room I paid for. He confirmed and hung up with her, again stating that it's non-refundable. I was on hold for a while longer with Priceline while she worked to fix the situation. Someone else called the front desk while I remained on hold and asked if I was there still, I could hear them clearly say my name, I was three feet away.  While on hold he offered to wave the $21 activity fee. I declined his offer and explained that I would like to remain on hold with Priceline. When the woman got back on the phone with me from Priceline she apologized and I was given the choice to stay in the cheaper room or cancel the reservation for a full refund. As soon as she offered me a refund the man at the front desk "magically" was able to find a Garden Room in his computer. The room that I had booked and paid for. I took the refund. As I gathered my things to leave, he practically begged me to stay and at least look at the room. Everything about the situation screamed SCAM. I felt extremely uncomfortable. Every fiber of my being screamed, "get out of this hotel". Do yourself a favor, book elsewhere, the low price isn't worth the added stress.

Yelp
The room was exactly what we needed, a clean place to stay near our destination. The room was small, but we were only there to sleep so it was fine. It was cute, clean, and comfortable. The free Wi-Fi was a perk, some recent hotels gave not had it. We walked to and from Central Park, Time Square, and Broadway. Very easy walk and short enough that we were pleased. Parking next door was a huge relief ($39.50 for 24 hours), just get a voucher from check-in . I'd stay here again. We paid $277, which was higher than I wanted, but one of the cheapest we found in a good location. We booked on hotels.com, check in was very quick, approximately 2-3 minutes.

Yelp
We found ourselves in NYC unexpectedly and were thrilled to find the Carvi! The host assisted us with parking and recommended a place down the street for my husband to get a bottle of wine to enjoy on the rooftop ! The room was clean and great location.

Barbara R R.

Yelp
We just stayed there for the last two nights. Yes, it's small but it had everything we needed. The room was clean, very clean. Two double beds....small place to hang your clothes, refrigerator with goodies, clean bathroom, modern shower. Loved the staff...Marcos in the evening could be nicer. Didn't get the woman's name during the day but she was in charge (wore glasses) at the desk and was so sweet. Location was good for us...walking distance to places to eat. They don't have a restaurant in this hotel..as I said, it's very small. They have a terrace - outdoors- on the 7th floor.
google avatar

Rayne N.

Yelp
It's a hotel. That's about it. I'd give it a 3 because it's exactly average for a NYC hotel, but I have to agree with the post of another yelped on here that the staff is unhelpful. we tried to check in a little early, at 2pm and were told rooms wouldn't be available until 3. I said, "isn't that the normal check in time?" She said, "yes." I said, "so none of your rooms are available now but they'll all be available in an hour?" She said, "yeah." That makes sense.

Yelp
WARNING: YOUR ROOM MAY HAVE NO WINDOWS. I booked a room through Hotwire and was expecting it to be quite small--it's NYC, after all! But I got to my room to find that not only was it just about the size of a walk-in closet, it had no windows. I don't even think of myself as being claustrophobic and I started to feel like I was going to have a panic attack when the door closed (not to mention that I couldn't find the light switch and it was pitch black). Apparently their "Standard" Queen has no windows. I don't even see how this is legal given that the building was built in the 80s and I think should have windows to be considered a bedroom by NYC law. I was told I would have to pay to upgrade to a room with windows. I ultimately did so (after calling Hotwire and telling them I thought they should pay for any difference in cost, or move me to another hotel--they refused), and it wasn't that much more, but I was pretty upset. Once I switched, the room was comfortable. The bathroom was really nice, and the shower had great water pressure. Linens were fine; the towels were soft. If I had initially been given this room, I probably would give the hotel 4 stars out of five, but I just can't shake my initial impression!
google avatar

Greg D.

Yelp
Clean enough rooms and about the size you'd expect. However, the staff was really unhelpful, enough where I'm going to leave a rare 1 star. Got hit with an extra bill I wasn't expecting when I checked in. I asked what it was for since my room was prepaid. The guy went instantly snide and told me "hotel rates CHANGE sir". Me: Uh, what? Finally I figure out it's because my trip had been rescheduled due to Hurricane Sandy. It should have been really easy for him to explain that it was due to the reschedule, but for some reason he opted to repeat the same phrase over and over again until I put things together myself. At the end, I was happy to pay the difference once I figured out what it was for, but the guy should have left his attitude at home.

Yelp
I traveled here from Minnesota for 3 nights and I loved my experience here! The staff was so nice and very hospitable. The beds were very comfortable and there was on demand tv! Not that I was in the room much since I wanted to see more of Manhattan but it was most definitely an amazing experience! The rooftop was smaller than it looks in photos but I liked the intimacy. No smoking building which was great, although I am a smoker I don't like the room/hotel smelling like it! Room service comes from across the street at Midtown Restaurant which has amazing food. Thank you Carvi hotel I will be coming back for my next trip!

Yelp
I ended up in a huge room by NYC standards on the top floor. Lucky me. Great room -- ask for 701 if you're booking at the hotel. Although, be warned, it's got a huge window right out to the terrace they have. If you're there on a weekend with some loud guests, you're going to hear it like you were sitting there with them. Great location, no room service, staff was friendly and very helpful. I'd go back if I needed to be in Midtown east again.

Yelp
I stayed here last year for gov ball after moving hotels (horrible hotel I was at before) and everything about this place was excellent for the price! I chose one of the cheapest rooms and didn't mind having no windows bc I wasn't here to stay in the hotel all day. I like it because they keep it cool/kinda chilly and have THE SOFTEST linens I've ever experienced at a hotel. It's close to times square and basically in the middle of all the surrounding vegan restaurants! Marble bathrooms and a mini fridge. I'll be here again in three weeks for gov ball 2018 and I'm so excited because I know this is the place to stay :-)

Yelp
Like many other reviewers, I had a bad experience with this hotel. I booked a room at this hotel in November of 2020 for a stay in August of 2021. I never received any other email reminding me of my upcoming stay, as is standard practice, until 3:21AM two days before the stay. Having forgotten about the reservation, I went to cancel and was not able to. When I called the hotel, I was told I was outside the reservation window of 72 hours. I find it deceptive that I only received a reminder about the stay AFTER the cancellation window had ended. Additionally, the person I spoke to over the phone was extremely rude and when I sent an email to the hotel asking for the GM's email address, I never received a response back. Clearly the hotel must not be doing well to have to squeeze customers and engaged in such deceptive practices. If staying in NYC, I would look elsewhere and avoid being taken advantage of.

Yelp
My sister and I booked a room for New Years Eve and this hotel was perfect for that. The room was small (but fine for one night) and clean, and the people at the front desk were friendly. Convenient location too. Would recommend and would stay here again.

Yelp
Perfect. I stayed over on a Saturday night on the 5th floor in a room on the street side. It was very quiet. I never saw or heard another guest nor did I hear any traffic (which is limited in this street compared to hotels on busier streets like near time square). It's located near the 53rd/Lexington subway stop I believe ... I walked every where so I only slightly noted the subway. It was a good price of about $300 for a queen size bed. Only 1 staff members stays at the reception desk and I saw 3 throughout my stay. They are friendly enough but don't expect a big warm welcome like you do at bigger hotels. The room appeared very clean and no signs of bed bugs. The room is tiny even for a NYC hotel but I didn't find it cramped and quickly got used to it (shared with my husband). We were hardly in it, checked in to drop off bags then left until bedtime and left when we woke. There is no restaurant in the hotel (room service comes from a little dinner type place across the street called midtown restaurant - I didn't try it). I like that there is no restaurant in the hotel so that you can walk around and discover new places. Nearby is Hillstone restaurant which has great food, atmosphere and is upscale. They have live jazz some nights. Also, tried the nearby Pigs N' Whistle pub which was fun for drinks and apps and their dj played fun pop hits songs at night. Their nachos are the best. Pazzo Notte was wonderful for Sunday breakfast. . You'll enjoy your stay whether you're here as a tourist or for business.

Yelp
The parents just stayed here when they came to visit me here in NYC. The rooms were clean, average size for NYC, bathrooms were updated and the beds were comfortable. There are a few cons, the elevator is slow/you have to wait, which is odd because it is such a small place with only a few rooms on each floor. Also a motorcycle, is parked out front all day, it somewhat blocks the door, we asked who's it was, the owners....ok....also the signage is very small, I kept walking past it.... Overall clean, not amazing, but bad, decent place for the price.

Yelp
Decent enough. Great location. Friendly staff. The rooms are small but I hear that's true all over Manhattan. Omar's next door has great good. Lips, a drag queen review, a block away was very entertaining. I hope to stay there next time I return.

Yelp
Booked a room last minute and also on the wrong date. I was worried because I didn't wanna be overcharged since one day was more than the other. I spoke to Lucy at the front desk and she was amazing. She assured me that I would not be double charged and even gave me the cheaper rate. Not only that she even called me after to let me know everything was taken care of. Thank you Lucy! Will definitely be back

Yelp
Being stuck in the city due to a snow storm is never easy. Greg and the entire staff was so gracious to the leadership team of a local business that reached out at the last minute for SIX rooms! He made it possible for us to open our business the next day on time and was understand with getting the payment authorized the next business day! Unbelievable service. Beautifully designed modern rooms, marble baths, and a bed like a cloud! They.are our choice in the future! !!!

Yelp
Two blocks from the subway station right in mid-town but very quiet in the rooms. Fluffy towels, good shower. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice firm bed. We had wine on the rooftop terrace (they provided glasses and ice bucket.) The wine shop is less than a block away. What more could you want? We stayed four days in a "junior suite" which had two queen beds. Not a huge room but plenty for two friends traveling together.

Yelp
Excellent stay at the Carvi. Great location, comfortable and clean. Loved the Terrace off the 7th floor. Great Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood for lunch @ King Fu.

Yelp
Eh! Thought it was great until I realized I forgot about NYC's 14.75% hotel tax. No fun. Service was great here, the terrace was fun and chic, the rooms were okay.

Yelp
Just spent one night. Booked one week notice and got last room, hence first floor with alley view. That said, clean and quiet. Second stay over two years and will be back shortly. Regular POD guest and this is way more private and cleaner.

Yelp
Great location, friendly staff, and clean room. I have stayed here on three occasions and I couldn't be more pleased. The room is clean and spacious. I really appreciate that they hold your bags for free if you arrive early. Some places charged. The location is superb, in the hub of great restaurants and midtown.

Yelp
Nice clean hotel conveniently located in Midtown East. The staff was very friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out. Our 5-night stay was very pleasant and comfortable. Yes, the rooms are typical size by NYC standards, but no complaints. We especially enjoyed the 7th floor terrace. It was a nice touch and an enjoyable & relaxing location for evening hors d'oeuvres, drinks & friends.

Yelp
Stayed here a couple of times for fun, once when the water was off, and put out of town friends up a few times. The rooms are always clean and large. I put a lot of stock in bathroom cleanliness, And the Carvi lived up to my standards. It goes a bit beyond utilitarian, as the staff is quite helpful. Definitely neighborhood ambiance.

Yelp
I would not recommended Carvi Hotel to anyone looking to visit NYC. Although, the location is in a decent area and in walking distance to locations such as Central Park or Times Square. The rooms and hallways are very small, making it difficult to maneuver large luggages. There is only one elevator in the entire hotel, so you can imagine how many individuals are waiting in the lobby to enter once the elevator is full. Not only is this hotel not as nice as hotels nearby, the hotel staff is very rude and unprofessional. Especially Faviana and Greg. During my stay, my family member was talking to the manager about their poor experience, and the manager (Greg) only defended his staff and blatantly said that they should have known the hotel policy and procedures regarding check- in, etc. During my stay, the only employee that treated us and others with respect was a man named Marcus. Overall, I do not intend on staying here in the future because it is the perfect depiction of "you get what you pay for".

Yelp
Great boutique hotel in Midtown East, NYC. Staff were professional and very courteous. Room was comfortable and clean. Particularly enjoyed the outdoor lounge area (and the weather cooperated). As a boutique hotel, they are light on expensive amenities, so it's a cost-effective choice compared to other area hotels. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Clean, cozy, conveniently located hotel in midtown. Room was small but fine for 2 people who spent most of the time exploring the city. Quiet - could not hear noise from other rooms or street.
