"Creative French & Polynesian Fare by the Sea Serving up creative French and Polynesian fare, as well as some wood oven pizza choices, Blue Banana is a trendy restaurant right on the lagoon in Punaauia. Portions are small but well presented and there is an impressive wine list, including French vintages, stored in the air-conditioned cellar. The ambiance is buzzy and it is best to arrive pre-sunset and ask for a table out on the pontoon to watch the sunset over Moorea in the background."

We 100% enjoyed our meal at Blue Banana last night. Make reservations. The starter salads are huge. Entree portion sizes are enormous. People dress in everything from pearls to shorts and flip flops. We loved everything about it. If we had more time, we’d make a repeat visit.

We had an amazing night dining at blue banana. The service was prompt, friendly, unpretentious. Great ambiance and reasonably priced. The kids said it was their favourite meal on the island. Most of all, food was delicious!

It was clear that we were lucky to get a table without a reservation. We arrived right after opening at 6:30pm. One thing to note is that although you MIGHT catch the end of the sunset, it gets dark pretty quickly after 6pm. It didn’t occur to me that the great over the water view would be a bit lacking after dark 😂. Service was friendly, we left full. As most restaurants on Tahiti, the prices were high. We paid 8500 CPF for two salads, a half bottle of wine (a delicious Bordeaux) and a side of fries (arrived cold). Next time, I’d definitely try the pizza which looked great.

The place is located on the water. Parking is limited but you can park on the side of the street. It has multiple atmospheres in the restaurant from the main sitting area inside to the bridge area that goes out to water to like a boat slip which is right on the water. The service is friendly and nice but disorganized. You will wait to place your order and get your order. BUT with that said that the food is Amazing !!!!!! The Thai salad melts in your mouth. The snails were buttery smooth. The sole fish and flambee 🔥 shrimp were delicious.

So happy we found this place. It was the best dinner we’ve ever had with the delicious food, wonderful friendly staff and gorgeous views. We will be back before we leave to go home. Make sure to make reservations for when they open so you can secure your parking spot and ask for the lagoon view. You won’t be disappointed

So, it's gonna be a no for me. Great place, on the beach, nice vibe, staff was ok. The food was just ok. My duck was very chewy and I couldn't eat it but the foie gras I supplemented with was really nice. The honey sauce for the duck was also good. The NZ beef filet was chewy too. The Beef with cognac sauce was the one dish that we finished. Ah, and the French fries. It was busy but the staff assisted us quickly. They never came back to check on us if we wanted more water or wine or to see how dinner was. No dessert was offered either. I'm not sure what the hype is about+ it's definitely not the food for us...

We came without reservations so we did not get a table by a fan or on the water but they did give us a table. They do have dishes of the day and most items are better than what’s on the menu. The service & food was top tier. It’s probably one of the most “upscale” places we ate at in Tahiti and we left satisfied but it was incredible HOT with zero air circulation where we sat. I’d highly recommend reservations as you would appreciate your dinner & the ambience by the water or next to a fan otherwise you’ll be wiping sweat off your face with a napkin 🤣

We had a lovely experience here! Although they were out of pizzas when we arrived and the vegetarian options are minimal, they offered me a delicious vegetarian salad. My husband enjoyed his first time trying snails! Good service and drinks! And an easy walk from the Te Moana resort.
