What a little treasure spot to grab a bite to eat. We sat outside which allowed for a relaxed atmosphere. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. I had the French Toast, and it didn’t disappoint. However the star of the table I believe was my son’s Shrimp & Grits. I will say that I’m suuuper picky when it comes to this dish, so I was skeptical when he ordered it. However, it was phenomenal. Probably some of the best I have had. If you are on the fence about it, just order it.

Google
Great spot for a filling breakfast! We were very impressed with a place we had heard so much about still having such a local feel. I had the breakfast burrito and my husband got the smoked pastrami hash. Both had SO MUCH flavor and kept us full for hours. We will be back for more of those biscuits!

Google
A local vibe style restaurant with outdoor seating available. The service was friendly, and the food was quick to come out. The food itself was good; I had biscuit, gravy, bacon and eggs, all were good but nothing over-the-top special. Outdoor seating area was dog friendly! Price point was about $20 for one person. Overall 8/10 for quick and easy and good and dog friendly.

We came for breakfast and the food was phenomenal! I got a breakfast Sammie that was way larger than thought it would be and tasted great. My wife got the chorizo omelet and it was perfectly seasoned and balanced. The praline banana French toast was amazing. We will come back here! Service was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was very homey and comfortable

This was an awesome breakfast place. The staff was amazing and super friendly. The food was delicious and plentiful.

Google
Nice little diner. We all basically had breakfast for lunch except one BLET and it was all great. Busy but quick service. Coke fountain drinks. Limited parking. Easy walk from Main Street.

Google
Hands down the best restaurant I have been to in Highlands! First of all, the atmosphere is very nice and cozy. Second of all, the employee who took our order was friendly, informative & overall had such a positive vibe. And finally, the food... amazing! Fresh ingredients & delicious menu options. I absolutely love everything about this place! Also... bonus points for them having a thoughtful dog menu! We ordered Doggy Tenders for our pups & they were devoured in seconds!

Google
I have symptomatic celiac disease and this restaurant was a delicious and safe experience! They have a separate toaster for Gf bread and understand celiac disease and avoiding cross contact. I ordered the pastrami hash and it was easily modified by cooking the potatoes in a clean pan versus flash frying. the oat milk is not celiac safe bc not made w certified Gf oats/ doesn’t have the certified GF logo. My husband and grandpa are not celiac and didn’t leave any food on their plates- they ordered the commuter bike breakfast. Also, the jam is out of this world delightful. If you are celiac or have a gluten intolerance, can eat safely here and it’s def worth it! Taylor was an excellent server and so dang kind!

Yelp
Wonderful breakfast spot just down the street from Old Edwards Inn. The staff is warm, and makes you feel like family. The venue is quaint and comfortable with ample seating. Shrimp & Grits, Pancakes and Bonuts are all outstanding. Wish we were in town longer to try more of the menu! Must eat here!

Kathryn T.

Yelp
Can't recommend this place enough! I had the classic eggs, bacon, toast, with a side of grits, and it was perfect. The toast came with homemade jam, and the grits were the real deal. Our table also ordered an omelet, biscuits, and pancakes, and everyone left full and pleased. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a good home cooked breakfast in Highlands.

Tri T.

Yelp
Probably the only place open for breakfast and it's worth the shorter wait service is great and the food comes out fast. Nice balance of savory, healthy, and sweet options across the menu. Power bowl was fantastic. Ask for extra granola to get that texture.

Sean T.

Yelp
Exactly what I want on a vacation getaway weekend. Delicious, locally sourced, and hearty! Made from scratch makes the world of difference; topped with staff and management that care?! That's what this is all about. Warm and welcoming, if ever I find myself in Highlands overnight, Blue Bike it is!

Brian W.

Yelp
Amazing food! Had the Greek Omelette, and it was delicious! Tara was my server and she was very friendly & attentive! Thanks, I'll be back!

Ashley K.

Yelp
Our favorite brunch spot when we are in town. Good people, great ingredients and excellent food! My go-to is the Recumbent (pictured) and her's is the Chirizo and Eggs. Pet friendly too with a pet menu.

Donna C.

Yelp
Great stop to have lunch! Had the Philly cheesesteak and it was amazing. Sidewinder fries were crispy and delicious. Tea and coffee were outstanding!

Jack R.

Yelp
Awesome experience. Friendly staff, welcoming environment, and great food!! Highly recommend

Yelp
Been here three times over last two weeks and will come back. BUT they unbelievably SLOW. Slow to bus tables Slow to seat people Slow to bring food--REALLY SLOW. Like 30+ minutes slow. And to top it off--they show no remorse or apology whatsoever even though people ask them about the food.

Raisa L.

Yelp
Place is so good that there was an hour wait to sit down. The waiter was excellent and it is a pleasure to see people with great personalities ( I didn't get his name). Food was quick to come out and delicious. Big portions. Would recommend if your around the area visiting

Rosemary N.

Yelp
I was really questioning whether this was as good as the ratings. It's a touristy place, so I expect a touristy breakfast. I was wrong. I sat solo at the bar by the front window. Such a great place to people-watch! I got to meet a local named Joe. Had a lovely time chatting with him. My breakfast did not disappoint! I had a chorizo grit bowl with cheesy grits, pico de gallo, fresh avocado, and queso fresco. It was DELICIOUS!! I could eat that every day. Ended my meal with a single buttermilk chocolate chip pancake. I was not disappointed in the least bit. Everything was excellent. They are dog-friendly and even have a small menu for your furry friend. Next door is a groomer, so you could schedule a grooming session, while you enjoy your breakfast then treat your dogo with something from Blue Bike Cafe. Parking is difficult, to say the least. They have a VERY SMALL parking lot. I parked a couple of blocks away and walked. Not a big deal since it is such a nice town to walk in! There was quite a line waiting to get in. If you are a solo dinner, just walk past all the people and sit at the bar/front window. You are good as gold!

Yelp
We loved breakfast at the Blue Bike Cafe this morning! "Bonuts" for the table are a MUST! Not too sweet with a delightful crispness. I had The Unicylce with a side of bacon featuring a fluffy biscuit and gravy, over easy eggs, and scrumptious rosemary potato fries. YUMMY!

Dixie B.

Yelp
We've been to the Blue Bike several times. It's on the outside of our Macon County restaurant rotation. We visit infrequently. This last time, TJ was our waiter. TJ has a great personality, was very helpful with my food sensitivities, and was attentive during our meal, even though it was obvious he had several tables. Hubby had the Korean BBQ Grits Bowl, but he never got the sauce on the side, and forgot to ask for it. He felt it needed the additional flavor. For me, since I couldn't have the sauce, I thought it was fine, but I also could have devoured that bowl with bacon, sausage, or no meat at all. I had the Pastrami Hash. The pastrami was in little sliced chunks, which I found unusual, but the flavor was delicious. The eggs were cooked well, with that runny yellow I crave. I probably would have liked the Pastrami Bowl better if the potatoes were cut smaller, and there were more veggies, like onions and some colorful bell peppers. Even without those improvements, it was good. They also serve breakfast all day, so that's a definite plus for you. Visit soon, and let me know what you think!

Yelp
Service was great! We had our service dog with us, and they were very accommodating (another place down the street was not at all accommodating). The food was delicious. I had the Buffalo chicken wrap with a side salad with ranch dressing. The ranch dressing was yummy. My sister got the commuter bike and had basted eggs with pimento cheese grits and sliced tomato with gluten free toast. My mom had the side salad with some sautéed spinach. All of us were very hungry when we got here, so no time to take pics! Great experience! We may even come back while we're in town! Also, they have a variety of jams and jellies inside, along with some maple syrup and hot chocolate.

Yelp
Ugh. Waited 57 minutes for salads and sandwiches. When they arrived mine was burned, fries were cold. Lots of others waiting, too. Tipped the waiter anyway. Won't fat shame someone for being mortally obese but I'd rather not see the gut because the XXXXL Tshirt is too small. Hopefully he'll use my 14% to hit K-Mart. No heads up or apology for delay. Lots of action in kitchen. Noticed one guy placing plastic cutting board on floor, there's initiative! Have an hour to wait for sub standard grub? Be my guest... Never again.

Shalimar A.

Yelp
The food was wonderful we had the steel oatmeal. It included a variety of fruit and nuts. To die for! The pancakes are as large as your plate! Amazingly! What really makes the restaurant are the people. They are engaging and attentive.

Andrea R.

Yelp
Worth the wait! Food was delicious! And the staff was so nice! Our server Elijah had great recommendations and he was extremely courteous. 10/10 recommend

Yelp
Had a lovely lunch today at Blue Bike Cafe. Just off Main Street in the Highlands this breakfast & lunch spot is a welcome slow down from the touristy spots. We enjoyed the Pimento Cheese Snack and the BELTA Sandwich with fries. Everything was fresh and delicious. The service was efficient and helpful. They serve breakfast all day and we will be back for sure. Also Dog Friendly! They even had a few items on their menu specifically for the doggies! Highly recommend this casual and delicious restaurant!

Yelp
Got to enjoy breakfast here this AM. When it comes to breakfast spots in Highlands, numerous options aren't high but this place is the crème de la crème of breakfast spots here. Their food is well portioned and the food selection/choices can fit any palate. I got the tandem bike which is a biscuit and gravy with sausage Pattie's and eggs. It was flavorful and filling. Their cheesy grits and their sausage links are full of flavor. The Korean BBQ grit bowl looks amazing. They have a small store where you can buy jams, honeys and jellies. The service was great and Kay was fun. The ambiance is a little country with a bike motif. They are a great option for the city and worthy trying when you visit. Definitely a go to location either for breakfast or lunch.

Yelp
Everything about this experience was stellar from start to finish... however, THE BEST part of this meal was not the enormous pancake my 6 year old devoured, or the fluffiest biscuit with homemade blueberry jam my 4 year old crushed, or the Pastrami Rueben that truly hit the spot.... The highlight of this experience was our server Juan. He called every one of us by name, made sure there was no detail missed, went well above and beyond and took a lovely photo of my family. Thank you Juan and the Blue Bike Cafe, you are an absolute gem!

Renee C.

Yelp
First stop along the way of this trip. A good one. Tried the Reuben sandwich. They smoke their pastrami at their other joint by a similar name. DELISH! Thick grilled grain bread smothered in butter. Lip smackin'

Jenny G.

Yelp
We stopped here for breakfast today on a short visit to Highlands. The service was exceptional and the food was excellent. The staff was super busy but capable of keeping up with a Saturday morning crowd. Bring an appetite because the dishes were plentiful. The place was quaint and was decorated nicely. I would definitely come back here again.

Lazaro L.

Yelp
Great food. Awesome vibe. Feels like having brunch with family. The plates are plenty full bring a hearty appetite the portions aren't small.

Preston M.

Yelp
We were seated right away, the service was really good. Food great, and nice quaint place. Out of 10 I would say an 8.5 out of 10 we really enjoyed it, and for warning the pancakes are huge!! We'll be back.

Yelp
What an awesome little country breakfast and lunch restaurant. Our group was getting ready for another fun day in Highlands NC. and decided to go back a second time to the Blue Bike Cafe, because the fist time was so amazing. A cutely decorated store front and simple interior, but what counts is their delicious hearty full flavored entrees. A couple of the highlights... Biscuits Sausage and Gravy. Big light and fluffy biscuits with a golden brown crust covered in their famous sausage gravy. For those hungry enough, throw on an egg and sausage patty. Build your own omelette. They have about everything you can think of to build your own. Add a side of fresh cut fruit and some crispy hash browns and your all set! And the winner is definitely Banana Bread & Pecan French Toast - Sliced, battered banana bread with sliced bananas, pecans, and praline sauce. This is what a little taste of heaven taste's like. Your mouth will be begging for bite after bite. Lol. All the servers are very country pleasant and so efficient. Always filling your coffee and water cups. Happy Hostess is the normal and the kitchen really knows how to turn out a hearty and well prepared meal. And yes, lots of Blue Bikes in the decor. Lol.

Debra S.

Yelp
This was our first time here. We were sat on the " boujee" side as the man said seating us haha. What a cute room! We were sat right away. We ordered the Ten speed which came with two very large pancakes and a side of strawberries. We also got the Commuter with bacon and grits. The bacon was thick cut and the grits were creamy.!

Niki H.

Yelp
Always amazing every time we have been! The food is amazing! The staff is friendly. It's a cute place to grab a bite to eat!

Sean B.

Yelp
I love coming here when I'm close to Highlands. The biscuits and grave are the best I have ever had. Pancakes are huge and super fluffy and perfect. Place is clean and the staff is very friendly.

T S.

Yelp
Fantastic!! From the initial greeting, and timely wait, to the awesome food, everything was just wonderful. Juan was courteous and so attentive. We had the shrimp and grits, berry power bowl, flat bread avocado toast and pastrami bowl and every single bite was delicious. I would definitely say we could eat breakfast here daily! It's a must visit and often!!

Ted W.

Yelp
Although more expensive than the average breakfast, the food here is pretty great. My wife enjoyed the banana bread French toast, with praline pecan One of our friends had the BLT with avocado, and it looked amazing. I had the biscuit, gravy, eggs and sausage, and it was quite amazing. Would definitely go back.

Jennifer P.

Yelp
We had biscuits and gravy, pancakes and breakfast sandwich. Everything was great. My favorite was the biscuits and gravy. Great service!

Ann D.

Yelp
Wonderful food and service here. The menu has plenty of options for lunch or breakfast. We opted for breakfast and the banana pecan French toast was amazing. The high curly fries were so hot and delicious with the egg and avocado sandwich. Our waitress was very accommodating and quick.

Sydney O.

Yelp
Food amazing! Service friendly! Beautiful setting! We will Definitely will return soon!

Aaron H.

Yelp
First off, they are dog friendly and that is fantastic for us when we travel as we take them everywhere and it is hard to find places that accommodate them. They even have a doggie menu and bring out dog bowls. My wife got a burger and customized it with pimento, my daughter got the cinnamon roll pancakes, and I got the tenders and french toast. My wife really liked her burger as did my daughter with her pancake. I was not sure on order the tenders and toast since it was a play on chicken and waffles and I am a snob when it comes to that as I cannot stand when it comes with tenders instead of actual fried chicken. But their tenders are absolutely fantastic. The french toast unfortunately was not for me. It wasn't terrible but the taste just wasn't my preference as the whipped honey and butter had an odd almost bourbon like taste. I am sure a lot of people would like that, but no me (so not going to knock them on that). Bonus points for the Atlanta United flag behind the counter.

Maria W.

Yelp
We had an amazing breakfast experience here. Fast and friendly service, cute atmosphere, absolutely delicious food. We feel well fueled for a day of hiking.

Jeb H.

Yelp
Holy Hannah! Y'all should eat here every morning for breakfast when your in Highlands! Best restaurant and server staff ever! Food is never sub par. No need to look elsewhere. Juan, is an excellent connoisseur of customer service. An incredibly personable and professional gentleman that takes pride in his craft.

Foodie F.

Yelp
Such a great breakfast place. We're locals half the year and highly recommend Blue Bike. Add to your experience by asking for Juan as your server, he's the best!

Josh D.

Yelp
We love small locally owned restaurants like the Blue Bike Cafe. The bike paraphernalia, art and historic imagery were interesting to look at and also educational. The restaurant was busy but everyone was very attentive and apologetic for the wait as well as items they ran out of. The food came exactly as ordered and everyone enjoyed their meal. We will definitely be back if we're close by again.

Melissa B.

Yelp
Enjoyed our breakfast at Blue Bicycle Cafe! Very large portions so dont over order. Loved that we got a pot of coffee for the table. Overall wonderful breakfast spot in Highlands!

Adam C.

Yelp
Great breakfast/lunch spot. Pays to be there before 9A as this spot can get crowded on weekends and busy seasons. Many homemade jams and spreads. Biscuits are a must. The menu is extensive and offers something for all. Portion size and just right. We will definitely be back next trip up. Coffee is fresh and plentiful. Enjoy!

Keith B.

Yelp
We visited a few days in Highlands this week and seriously enjoyed breakfast at the Blue Bike Cafe every morning. Service was great, atmosphere/ambiance was charming, and the food was incredibly wonderful. They know how to scramble eggs, perfectly moist and steaming when served. Their bacon is top-quality, and the wheat toast was flavorful. After enjoying a few different signature items the first two days, I chose cheese grits for a side today. Let me say, their chef knows how to prepare grits PERFECTLY. Plus, they use heavy cream in them. Definitely five stars, and THANK YOU to the staff, everyone we met was great.

Katherine D.

Yelp
What a beautiful morning on the patio at the Blue Bike Cafe. Town of Highlands locals are lucky to have this gem.

Michael L.

Yelp
Best oatmeal I ever had. Everything was good but trust me.... Get the oatmeal. Nice people, good service, good food. Not cheap but reasonable for Highlands

Eliza S.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast and service. Cute local place. Anna bread French toast was husbands favorite ever!

Don L.

Yelp
My first time here, I had the French dip with the house fries, delicious!!! My friend had the Reuben which he says was tasty but the bread was a bit over done. Nice service from Kathy

Mia G.

Yelp
Their pancakes are delicious! Huge tasty portions for a great price. All the staff are kind, service was good, and the cafe is just so cute and such a good place to eat and have a nice time!

Steve W.

Yelp
Great casual down home breakfast and lunch restaurant. We liked it so much. We went two days in a row. Service was very good and friendly and the food was very solid and a good value for the dollar. Highlands is kind of a pricey town, and I felt like the portions, as well as the quality of the food were excellent for the price. They also have a nice little retail section where you can purchase, local and artisan products like jams, jellies, pickles, etc.

Julia G.

Yelp
Great food and wonderful server They also honor military and first responders Best coffee in town I plan to go back there next time I'm in Highlands.

Devin S.

Yelp
It took an hour for them to realize they lost our ticket and our food wasn't even made yet.
