Small local bakery with seating for 3 to 4 couples. Paid $9.42 for 3 little cupcakes (red velvet, tuxedo and strawberry). They have 2 types of frosting, either buttercream or regular sugar frosting. Make sure to ask which cupcake has which type of frosting if you like one particular frosting over another. Got here around 4:45 pm / 4:50 pm, close to their 5 pm closing time on Tuesday. They still had plenty of cupcakes and other items like cookies, whoopi pies, personal apple pies, etc. Cupcakes are a little on the pricey side at $3.14 per cupcake especially for the size. Price for 6 cupcakes remains at $18 per the cashier who happened to also be the baker / owner. The cupcakes themselves are soft and moist. I'm not a huge frosting fan as I always believe a lot of cupcake places overdo the frosting to the point where the frosting is almost the same size or sometimes bigger than the actual cake itself. With that said, I tasted and removed most of the frosting which was stiff and holds its shape, but good in flavor. I can see why this place gets a good rating for their cupcakes. Place looks small but clean. They have a small shared parking lot with the other store fronts in the complex area.

These cupcakes were so moist and delicious! The chocolate frosting is fudgey and rich. We will definitely be back!

My first visit there, I came with a friend. We each got 2 cupcakes each to try. For some reason, 1/2 of each order was dry and we got different cupcakes. I love red velvet and that by far was superb but my Sweet Cake was extremely dry. The balance and flavors of the cake and icing on the red velvet was spot on so I decided to go back again, in spite of the dry cupcake on my first trip! Next trip they had lemon which I am always searching for the perfect lemon cupcake. They seem to be a popular flavor and I got the last one. I also got strawberry. The lemon was a little on the sweet side for me but I could appreciate the lemon flavor throughout the cake along with the strawberry. The service is always friendly and helpful and I LOVE the atmosphere there. It's pumpkin season so I will be visiting soon to try some of their pumpkin flavored treats and whoopie pies! People also buy coffee there. Always a steady stream of customers and it's in one of my favorite areas of Orlando. Recommend you give them a try.

Blue Bird's is this wonderfully enchanting cupcake shop with cookies and brownies and delicious coffees too. Who knew they would could become a new coffee stop for me? Yum. They're also really rather reasonable too, which you don't often see with specialty shops. ...my highest compliment, though, goes to freshness and quality. I do bakeries often enough and my biggest complaint is freshness...awesome looking stale confections by a few days or so. Not here. Always fresh and that's exactly what you want. Thank you. Total five stars because there's also a friendly, happy vibe here too.

My girlfriend and I went by today and we loved the place. It had a nice retro classic feel to it and the cupcakes and service were great. I normally HATE sweets, but I have to say that I LOVED their cupcakes. We loved it so much that we are going to order their cupcakes for our 10 year anniversary party. Thank you Blue Bird Bake Shop for a great morning. Jax & Rachel

I paid in advance for 8 doz cupcakes; both last year (2014) for a wedding reception and this March (2015) for a birthday party. They were ready at the promises times and were amazing, moist and flavorful. I got mini cupcakes in vanilla/sweetcake, double chocolate, red velvet and strawberry. The staff even helped me decorate the tops with little rings for the birthday party. Additionally I've received full-sized cupcakes as a gift or treat and those have always been delicious as well. In short, everything I've eaten here has been yummy!

While the place was quaint and nice the cupcake I ordered was horrible. I ordered the Neapolitan cupcake. The cupcake was decorated nicely the taste was not. The frosting did not have any strawberry flavor at all, it was dry on the exterior and tasted processed, very greasy. The cupcake was vanilla and chocolate mix. The chocolate had a nice coffee after taste but overall the cake was dense. Needless to say the majority of the cupcake ended up in the garbage. I will give it one more try to see if it may have just been that particular flavor but sadly to say, there are better cupcakes at the local supermarket.

Cute place with nice touches (real plates, charmingly mismatched) but I guess I don't see what all the hype is about. The cupcake was dense and had a very dull flavor. The frosting was pretty deftly done, though. I can't say it is the best cupcake I've ever had, by far. I was surprised for this being voted #1 bakery in the "Best of Orlando" that their selection of items was incredibly limited. It says bakery, but all I saw were a few different flavors of cupcakes and some pretty standard Starbucks type items. I'll keep looking for a real bakery experience and live without a little of the hipster cuteness factor.
