I’ve come across Blue Bottle Coffee in other countries before, but it suddenly popped up here in Singapore—right inside the Lumine section on the first floor of Raffles City Shopping Mall at City Hall.
Naturally, I had to stop by.
The menu is quite minimal. I visited early on a weekend morning, and thankfully it wasn’t too crowded—just a few customers inside, and I didn’t have to wait long to place my order. They asked for my name at the counter, as usual.
Perhaps because the store had just opened, everything felt a bit unpolished. Staff seemed inexperienced and unsure of their roles. One staff member interrupted another mid-order to ask a question, which didn’t exactly give off a professional vibe.
I ordered a hot café latte to go, but after quite a wait, I was handed an iced latte instead—without a lid. Since I was short on time, I didn’t bother requesting a replacement and just took it as-is, adding the lid myself. At that point, I was already a little disappointed.
That said, the coffee itself was really good—aromatic, flavorful, and smooth with no overpowering milkiness. You can’t choose the cup size, and the price? A steep $8.50!
I’m hopeful that once the staff get more comfortable and confident in their roles, this spot will feel more refined. For now, it’s a promising start—just with some growing pains.
