Blue Buddha is a fine option if you're really craving Japanese, but isn't exactly where you'd go for classic nigiri/rolls and quality fresh seafood. Especially on the Specialty Rolls, they tend to just pile on a ton of ingredients (mostly fried, mostly cheese). A lot of it tastes good, but you can't really appreciate the raw fish (though given the landlocked situation of Page it probably isn't amazing raw fish).
THE WAIT: None for dinner on Black Friday for 4, around 5 or 6pm. They were somewhat busy.
THE COST: $110.07 before tips for a filling dinner for four.
FLAVORED HOT SAKE
* Purple Haze (raspberry liquor, hot sake $4) - 2.5 stars
Flavor was very artificial. This was nothing special.
ENTREES
* Holy Scallops ($25.50) - 3.5 stars
Pretty good, and a very filling cheesy way to serve scallops. The sauce had great flavor, but the veggies were bland. Quite overpriced though.
* Miso soup (comes with entrees) - 3 stars
This was fine.
PHAT BOWLS
* Chicken, Thai peanut sauce, half rice/half noodles ($10.50) - 3 stars
Chicken was a bit dry, and veggies were very bland. I appreciated that my server let me get half rice and half noodles when I couldn't make up my mind. This ended up being not quite enough veggies/meat to go with the carbs, and I asked for extra sauce (which our server happily brought over).
SPECIALS
* Chicken Ramen ($12) - 3.5 stars
A solid choice if you're feeling ramen. They use the same chicken meat as the phat bowls, a little dry.
REGGAE ROLLS
* Shrimp Tempura Roll ($5) - 3 stars
This was fine. I wished for a little more crunch on the tempura.
SPECIALTY ROLLS
* Volcano Roll ($13.50) - 3.5 stars
Very impressive, & filling. This ends up being sushi with a ton of stuff on it - you can't really discern a lot of individual flavors, but I still kept helping myself to more!
* Arizona Roll ($5) - 3 stars
Fine, nothing too special, this maybe was a bit much w/ sweet chili sauce.
* Weekend at Burnie's ($12.50) - 3 stars
Tempura was a bit soft, and the ingredients had too much going on to really notice the tuna.
