Quaint little coffee shop - with a small patio off the back. A nice selection of pastries, seasonal drinks and house specialties. Service was friendly but a little off on my visit - seemed like short or newer staff. Definitely will be back though - the maple turmeric latte and matcha croissant were great!

the BREAKFAST BURRITO wow what a winner!!! Jam packed with yummy ingredients and great fuel for the rest of the day. Wouldn’t recommend the butterfly pea tea latte that my friend got though - was a tad much on the milky side. Coffee was ok, had a Flat White with oat milk which was not bad. Decent place for a quick breakfast!

A must stop! A local spot filled with amazing options, friendly staff and timely service. The outside tables are a great location to enjoy the food and people watch or walk and shop. The matcha pistachio croissant is a balance of sweet & savory, the iced vanilla latte with almond milk was nutty and not too sweet, the California Hash toast is a MUST and the California breakfast sammie.

They matcha latte was unique and tasted good with cinnamon, however was rather sweet, would ask for less honey next time. Nice assortment of pastries. The almond croissant didn't have as strong an almond flavor as I like, but would try some of the other options again.

Cute little place in heart of downtown El Segundo (must spend more time in this quiet little town near LAX!). Popular, bit of a crowd. Was there at 8am but they had already run out of some baked items like ham/cheese croissant; what I substituted was just ok. Pleasant seating outside. Nice, and efficient staff.

Absolutely smashing menu, would love to try all of their breakfast options! The Espresso was amazing, light roast and very well brewed. Breakfast burritos were perfectly balanced in ingredients and taste.

The food was excellent, the coffee was great and the vibe was outstanding. Unfortunately, they did not have the tea they’re named after, the WiFi didn’t work (to which they responded “maybe too many people are using it… sorry”), and the service was very slow and unhelpful. If they could fix these small issues, it could drastically affect the experience customers have here.

I love this place, especially their brown sugar latte--it's a must-try! Parking can be a bit tricky since it's all street parking, but I usually find a spot in the mornings. Even if the line looks long, it moves quickly, and the drinks are always worth it--they never fail to impress me. There's plenty of seating inside, next door, and outside, so it's easy to find a spot to relax and enjoy. Highly recommend! + they have amazing food options and seasonal selections too

This space is very nice and cozy. It may be a little too cozy if you're looking for a space to spend some time studying or getting to know/catch up with someone. It's extremely popular and that means busy and loud. While, I understand why; the drinks and pastries are delicious and enjoyable, it is hard to focus here. The employees are the backbone of this space, they do a fantastic job moving people along, but I always look and search for coffee shops that are chill. That's a tall order these days.

This is the cutest little coffee shop I've seen in all of the South Bay. Has such a warm and inviting vibe, with a handful of tables inside, tables outside and a patio out back. They offer an array of coffee beverages, their signature blue latte and various pastries and hearty plates. Such a great place to have on the neighborhood. Service was friendly and kind. Stop in if you're around!!

This local spot is amazing--fantastic lattes and breakfast that are absolutely to die for! The staff are super friendly, the vibe is laid-back, and what really sets them apart is their kindness. They sell artwork where 100% of the proceeds go to Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Honestly, I'd go just for that incredible gesture, but even without it, I'd still support this absolute GEM because everything about this cafe is pure perfection!

A first visit and a complete miss. This spot came highly recommended, but sadly it missed the mark. Upon entering, I expected a great experience. The service was wonderful, displays inviting, menu with tons of variety. I guess I ordered wrong or something. My matcha latte was average, but much to bitter. The meal (I didn't take a picture) was so off. I thought I was ordering an egg dish, but it was light on the eggs and mostly potatoes. Topped with avocado should have been the icing on the cake, but unfortunately, not. The avocado was black, like old and disgusting, needed to be scrapped off and thrown away. I could not believe this was served to a customer. So why 3 stars??? Well, I ordered take out and didn't check before I left. So, my fault for not opening the box. Hoping this was a one off experience.

A cute little coffee shop in downtown el segundo. We came here on a Saturday late morning and the line was out of the door but they moved quickly. The line up of pastries when you walk in is abundant and they all look delicious. We got a coffee (nothing special) and the gundo scramble. The scramble was okay, but the English muffin that came with it was delicious. Overall, I think the pastries are best way to go here but a cute area to sit makes it a great spot.

I stumbled upon this cute little cafe with my husband during an early morning airport run, and we decided to give it a try. They offer a variety of coffees, teas, smoothies, pastries, and other food items, so there was plenty to choose from. We tried the pistachio-dipped croissant, "Peppa Pig" avocado toast, and a fruit smoothie. The food was just okay--nothing too special. I think the croissant could have used a filling of some sort to give it that extra something; otherwise, it felt a bit plain. The smoothie, however, was the star of the show. At 7am, it was exactly what I needed and really hit the spot! The cafe itself has some indoor seating, but it's more of a grab-and-go spot, which worked perfectly for us. Parking was limited, so keep that in mind. Overall, if I'm in the area again, I'd definitely come back for another smoothie, but the food items left me wanting a little more.

We visited a local coffee shop, and despite the line being out the door, we decided to wait - and we're so glad we did! The line moved quickly, and the coffee was absolutely delicious. There's such a variety of options to choose from in one place. I tried the Spanish latte, while my husband had the brown sugar latte. His was a bit too sweet for my taste, but he loved it. The service was fantastic, even though the place was bustling the entire time. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available. There was a small festival going on that day, which made parking a bit tricky, but overall, we really enjoyed our

TLDR: thinking about trying the Iced Vanilla Latte? Would try something else next time. I had heard such positive things about this coffee shop and was so excited to try it. The croissants inside looked incredible (would get the chocolate one next time, hehe) but I resisted temptation and ordered the Iced Vanilla Latte with oat milk. I'm not sure what made this coffee taste a little strange, but it wasn't my favorite. It was for a good price, and the staff inside were very friendly, but I would try something else next time. There's seating inside and next door, so would maybe bring some work to do next time!

Cool little coffee shop in downtown El Segundo. It was pretty packed when I went, but the service was friendly and quick. I got an iced latte with oat milk - nothing special aka not bad but not delicious either. I got a gluten free pumpkin bread. The texture is pretty good considering it's gluten free but there's not much flavor. Something that I really didn't appreciate was that the screen that shows your total before adding tip is NOT accurate. It's the subtotal - so I ended up getting taxed on my tip. That's pretty sneaky! Street parking is pretty easy since there's free 2 hour parking along the whole street. The ambiance is cool but a bit hectic. Lots of people having coffee and working so it seems like a good place to study or get work done.

Best cafe spot near LAX. Known for their amazing croissant section and blue butterfly lattes, this is definitely a hidden gem. The El Segundo is a cute spot to walk around and filled with many locals. Locals a great place to study with tons of indoor outside as well as a lot of outlets. We go the Butterfly tea latte, which is a really gentle flavor and really satisfying. It has a very floral flavor with the butterfly and rose syrup which compliments the tea really nicely. It's not too sweet, which makes it a perfect drink to get in the mornings. The Expresso dul'sal is a phenomenal drink. I totally understand why it's one of their top best sellers. The black lava salt is super strong and amplifies the coffee flavor so well. In addition, the coffee is super smooth and light and is probably one of the better coffees I have had ever. The service here is amazing and I really appreciate workers who are knowledgeable and have an easy-going vibe. We had a great experience here. Based on the cashier's recommendation, we ended up getting the banana bread, which is honestly one of the best banana bread I've ever gotten at a cafe spot. It tastes homemade and you can tell that it was baked fresh. We also got the cheddar onion bagel, which was phenomenal. There are pieces of onion in it and it tastes amazing! If you love onion and cheese, this is the best bagel to get here. We will definitely be back anytime we are up in LA to try their extensive menu including the croissants (they have a pistachio matcha!) Not sure how parking is later in the day but they only have street parking so keep that in mind.

The friendly staff was welcoming to this cozy space filled with lots of baked goods and offering classic breakfasts. The nitro coffee uses beans that are fruity and sour and I enjoyed mine with a splash of milk to soften the flavor. The ingredients in the breakfast burrito and chicken pesto sandwich were fresh and traditional.

We were in Los Angeles for the day on a layover so we decided to hang out in the El Segundo area. We arrived very early in the morning and were in need of coffee so Blue Butterfly was our first stop. It was a rainy day and this place was packed, like line out the door packed. We ordered an Americano and a drip coffee and hoped to find a place to sit. We were able to get a table after waiting a few minutes. The coffee was delicious and the staff were polite and friendly as they served guest after guest non stop for the entire hour that we were there. The food looked delicious but we'll have to try it next time. My only con would be that they don't use mugs for dine in only paper cups; I prefer my coffee in a mug.

Smashing chicken and artichoke pesto sandie! We come in weekly and stay for the many delicious coffee offerings. Service is on point with cheerful and helpful staff offering great recommendations with a smile. It's true what they say here... a yawn is a silent scream for coffee! Brava Blue Butterflies!

I was staying at an AirBnB for a few days in El Segundo and came across this coffee shop on Main St. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and a bagel sandwich that was a BLT on an everything bagel (you get to choose what kind of bagel you want). My coffee was nice and strong and the energy from the caffeine easily lasted me all day. I liked that there wasn't too much ice. The sandwich was good. Not something I'd necessarily order again but if I'm ever in El Segundo again, I'd be down to try something else. Service was quick and my coffee and food came out quickly. It's a cute shop that has seating and looks like a good spot to either study or spend a few hours working. There was also plenty of street parking for a morning weekday.

Delicious and cute breakfast sandwiches, and very tasty latte's. Really nice atmosphere, friendly servers, and plenty of seating inside and out. Even when it was very busy, it wasn't chaotic. Excited to go back!

Came here on a Sunday morning after brunch and was pleasantly surprised by the brick walls and fast internet. The baristas were super patient, friendly and helpful. The best drinker got was the lavender matcha, it was perfection... not soapy and overly sweet but just soo yummy (Starbucks quite literally could never ). We also got the matcha tea latte which was just solid but nothing to write home about. Our least favorite drink was the blue butterfly tea latte which was a big let down- definitely skip out.

Blue Butterfly has super good food and drinks, but I warn on average it is an extremely slow process. May take 20-45min to get food or drink. Unfortunately this has been my experience the last 5-6 visits, and with limited space it becomes congested and takes away from what would otherwise be an awesome experience.

I got a hot americano with half & half, then added my own honey on the side. It was my first time getting a breakfast burrito and it was surprisingly good! I'd recommend. I didn't get any pastries, but they look really tasty. It was very busy, line was out the door, but I got my drink fast, and my food within about 15 min.

Ample street parking (2 hrs) and great vanilla latte. Has indoor seating and a cute back patio. Brought the bunny and so many people commented about the bunny. Definitely a great spot to get coffee and I'll be back if I'm in this area. Also found a nice spot to spot planes on imperial ave really close by.

Ordered online ahead of time and drinks were not even started when I got there (well after the pick up time). They did not have ingredients for the drinks I ordered so had to substitute. Guy knows I'm waiting there for the drinks but he just leaves them on the counter without saying anything when they're ready. Bizarre. Coffee does not taste great either. Many better options in town.

In downtown El Segundo there are many places to grab a coffee! This little coffee shop has been a staple on Main Street! Right in the heart of downtown across from the library and near the fire station. The locals know this is the place to go. When you visit this place you find all ages of people hanging out: some socializing, while others working! The menu offers quite a number drinks! Like most coffee shops you can find coffee, tea and alternative drinks on the menu. They even have signature drinks! I got a Spanish coffee that was very well balanced and temperate was spot on! As for seating: the coffee shop is not large. There is some seating inside. Very limited and a bit tight. Additional seating can be found outside on the sidewalk. As for parking, usually there is plenty of parking on the streets. Just watch the signs as most parking is just two hours. If you are looking for a coffee or tea, I recommend this place!

Blue Butterfly is a fun coffee house on Main Street in El Segundo. This coffee house offers all of the typical items you would expect: the various types of coffee drinks, teas, and a few other drinks for those who don't want to grab their caffeine fix. They also have nice selection of bakery items. Plus, they do some small meals like salads, sandwiches, and omelettes. In terms of overall layout, they have numerous tables inside. As well as a number of tables outside in front. As can be expected, this place can become fairly crowded. So, you may want to keep that in mind as sometimes all the tables are taken. But, most of the time you should be able to find a place to sit. Butterfly offers Wi-Fi connectivity. From this, you'll see a lot of people sitting back for the long-haul getting their Internet whatever accomplished. Overall, if you wanna grab a latte to go or sit back for a moment and enjoy the atmosphere of old El Segundo, this may be the place for you.

Good ambience, cozy, and perfect place for hangout and to enjoy good pastries. They also have other food options but we didn't try those this time. We went to meet a friend without any expectations, but it made me want to go back again. I ordered lavender matcha tea with plant milk which was really good. I asked for half sugar, but it was still too sweet for my taste. However the drink was definitely good. My husband tried the coffee which was good as well. Matcha pistachio crossiant looked unique. It was so delicious and different. Their quiche was very light. It didn't feel as heavy as regular quiches. They have nice indoor settings and outdoor seating. Staffs were nice and welcoming. Overall it's a good place.

In a town with many coffee and pastry options, this is the standout. It's local staple, and there's a reason why! It's coming to a coffee shop like this that makes it feel like a small community. The intimate space is decorated with an eclectic mix of work from local artisans. The seating is comfortable and flexible to multiple group sizes. There is a comfortable patio in front and in the back garden area. There is a limited parking lot behind the building, but street parking usually available. Drinks: all the beverages here are excellent, but for me, the standout is the coffee. Roasted locally at Smoky Hollow roasters, they usually have a variety of light, medium, and dark roasts. And unlike the chain stores, they are happy to customize things in anyway you like, and offer a very wide selection of options. I also am a big iced tea drinker, and I never disappointed here. Food: unlike many coffee shops, which just have a few stale, pastries out front. This place is a diners heaven! The pastries are so fresh and sell out every day. My personal favorite is the jalapeño cheese bagel. It's probably the best I've ever had! I don't care for the mini quiche, because I find it to have two thick crust, but the filling is delicious. I also enjoy the breakfast burrito, and avocado toast. They take a moment longer since they're coming from the kitchen, but it's well worth it. Service: this is one of the reasons to come here! Friendly, local people who are consistently there instead of a revolving door of untrained workers. They do an amazing job, and you can tell how they hold their product to a high standard. Restroom: it might be a strange thing to call out, but the restroom here is even great. It's a single unisex room, but it is always spotlessly, clean and well stocked. I have to admit, I've already come here for a drink just because I needed to stop.

The staff were so friendly and considerate. They helped me and my friends pick out some food and drinks since we were a bit indecisive and even let me change the breading option for a sandwich with no extra charge or fees. I was honestly surprised that the food and drinks actually tasted really good. This is such a nice local coffee shop that I'll definitely be visiting again it was clean and had a very relaxing vibe.

Whoa... ESPRESSO DUL' SAL hit the spot! First time visiting this place after coming from the airport. The flavor of this drink that comes with a touch of salt is better than I imagined. Would definitely come back for this drink alone!

Ah I'm sorry, but this iced matcha latte was just not it. It was so grainy as you can see, but it is what it is. I do need to add that the WiFi was unfortunately not working for the entire time I was there, about 4-5 hours. The staff was so kind though when I asked about it that they did say that they had heard from other people that lately their WiFi had indeed been spotty. Maybe I'll come back to try some of their food items.

Blue Butterfly Coffee in El Segundo is a solid spot. The breakfast burrito was yummy, but the classic bowl stole the show for me--especially paired with their delicious salsa. The coffee is pretty good too. Decent customer service, free street parking, and while seating is limited, they have umbrellas out front for shade. Nice!

Cute local café with a some very loyal patrons from the neighborhood. I know this because we came here just before it opened since we had an early day having dropped off a friend at the airport and there were a group of older folks waiting for the door to open. They were clearly regulars and all knew each other. The coffee was very good and the pastry case looked great!

I visited Blue Butterfly because I saw pictures of their donuts on Yelp. When I got there, I learned that they hadn't sold donuts in six years lol! I got a banana coffee cake which was moist and not too sweet, and an iced matcha latte. It's a nice place to people watch thanks to the outdoor seating, and their drinks and pastries are good.

First time trying a lavender matcha latte, and I'm in love! The flavor combination is lovely. The lavender sweetens the earthy matcha in a very pleasant way. There is outdoor and indoor seating. I recommend the back patio for a quiet work-remote spot. There is great WiFi, and the staff is very friendly.

Says serving food, but they did not serve food they had pastries. Service was OK. Took a little long to get my coffee that was because they were trying to figure out how to turn on the toaster oven to toast. The bagel which took like 20 minutes. the ambience was nice. My coffee wasn't the greatest. I would rather go to Starbucks and that's bad.

came to this location after going to their smaller location that's about ten minutes away. i had already tried their lavender matcha and absolutely loved it! this time i ordered their butterfly pea latte with oat milk and their french toast with fruit. this location has a bunch of street parking. there's seats inside and a few outside. inside it's very quiet, there's no music, just the baristas talking and people doing work on their computer. i luckily found a seat inside. there's tons of pastries to choose from and a menu offering breakfast and lunch options. the cashier was sweet and my drink came out super quick. the french toast was delicious! very warm and the fruit was fresh. their lavender matcha is still my favorite drink from here but hopefully i come back to try more!

Bad service. Waited 45 minutes. Lot's of miscommunications. Didn't have ingredients for the drink I ordered online. Omelette was watery and the avocado lox toast had wet pickles thrown on it. Coffee is good but won't be back.

I love this local spot! This is our local coffee shop. Drinks and pasties are yummy. Hidden seating in the back patio. Also super Dog friendly! They can sit inside or out. They always give our doggo a pup cup on the house!

I stumbled upon this place as I was in El Segundo. The place has ample seating -- both inside and outside. I saw many people doing work on their computers and enjoying their time. I also like how they are open pretty late compared to other coffee shops. I got a latte with vanilla foam and it was really good -- you can choose which flavor foam you would like on your drink which is a really cool way to customize your drink. I was not able to try the sandwiches here but I did try a cinnamon coffee cake which honestly wasn't the best and pretty dry. I do want to come back and try their other pastries. Overall the drink was pretty good and I was able to sit back and don some work here.

We tried the iced Brown Sugar Latte with lavender syrup added and the iced Matcha Latte... Both drinks were delicious and staff was very knowledgeable and nice!! Will definitely be back to try other drinks!

I full heartedly love this place :-) I live in the Bay Area, & am not in SoCal often, but when I am I try to make it a point to stop here. I've tried this place three times now & haven't met a drink or food item I didn't like!!!

The cafe is crowded meaning its expected to be good. One of their famous drink is blue butterfly latte, it tastes so weird and smell weird. Inside is very cold, I was working and shaking. Not my kind of place or drink

My $7 drink was just full of ice. Terrible practice for such an expensive drink. Staff also not well trained and not familiar with what their baked goods were and forgot to give it to me after heating it (I had to go ask for it).

There is a fantastic bread called "monkey bread" that emanates a special honey that it is to die for, add a cup of your favorite coffee for a delicious combination. Service and ambience are also excellent, give these hard workers a raise please, they are not only helpful but they also have ethics and integrity, thank you guys!

Blue butterfly coffee co is a nice cafe to get some work done in El Segundo. The blue butterfly is endangered to endemic to parts of Southern California sand dunes. I loved that this cafe's name and signature drink highlight this special butterfly. They have ample space and reliable wifi which made it an enjoyable cafe to get some work done. Drink: Of course I had to order the signature blue tea. I love the color and it taste a bit like fruity pebble cereal milk. The server upgraded my size to a large with the check in offer. I would definitely re order this drink. Overall, this is a great cafe to get some work done. The blue butterfly theme is very LA and this would make a great spot to bring visitors.

This place was adorable! Super affordable for LA coffee/food, and they have a really good range of smoothies, coffees/flavors, as well as an extensive menu of food! I had the breakfast burrito and it was delicious, well priced, and packed with great ingredients. I also got a medium iced honey lavender latte that I thought was delightful. The only thing to consider is that the actual building is relatively small and I was there it was pretty busy so the line did take a while (but they do a good job of offering plenty of seating). Once I ordered my drink and food came out very fast so no complaints there! Definitely would recommend stopping here for breakfast and a coffee...10/10!
