Blue Butterfly Restaurant & Cooking Class

I highly recommend this restaurant. The manager, Phong, has been very welcoming. We came twice, and everytime, Phong would talk to us about the Vietnamese culture and his feelings. The dishes are the finest we could find in Vietnam, and is hands down the best restaurant in Hanoï 😋🇻🇳 Thank you again and til next time Phong ! David & Mathilde

Absolutely fabulous restaurant. For us it was the best food we have had in Hanoi. The beef dish - amazing! and the innovative chicken was world class. Head chef Toi works with an efficient team and deliverers wonderful food. Our waiter, Leo was friendly and attentive. Without a doubt Recommended.

One of the best restaurants we have been to so far in Vietnam. Also our waiter Phong made a great job and was not afraid to have a nice chat with us.

Went here after reading about it in the lonely planet and not wanting to deal with sorting through all the fake 5 star rating at restaurants in Hanoi. If you don’t know, there is a lot of pressure from hotels, tours, and restaurants to leave 5 star ratings even if it doesn’t deserve that. The pressure is so great it becomes extremely uncomfortable and I didn’t want to deal with that on this night so I took advice from the lonely planet. Have to say I was disappointed, the service was nice per usual in this area but the food was lacking in flavor and bland. I wouldn’t go back. Had spring rooms, pho, and a watermelon drink which was nice.

We had the cooking class with Mr Pickle and it was as amazing as everyone says! Really recommend it, the food was amazing, the class was fun and the visit to the market was very informative. Also as a vegetarian he prepared some dishes to accommodate my diet! Probably one of the best experiences we had in Hanoi and Vietnam so far!

We had a lovely meal at Blue Butterfly. We ordered the Hanoi’s corner set menu which came with five courses including fresh spring rolls, lotus salad, pho, bun cha and a dessert. We loved this meal because of the variety, we were able to try different authentic Vietnamese foods and ingredients and everything was exceptional. Would highly recommend and will certainly come back if I visit Hanoi again!

I was recommended to try this restaurant by a local, and I must say, I was not disappointed! The food was absolutely delicious and lived up to the hype. The flavors were incredible, and you can tell that they use quality ingredients. The only downside was the waiting time for the food, which was a bit longer than I expected. However, the service was not bad at all, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. I also loved the old-world charm of the restaurant's setting. It adds a unique atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. Overall, it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for great food in a cozy ambiance!

We attended a cooking class here. Hung guided us through the local markets and explained all the different foods. We went back to the restaurant and cooked 5 delicious meals. It was the tastiest food we have had in Hanoi. I highly recommend this restaurant and the cooking class!!!!
