Came here for a light lunch and was pleasantly surprised! First off, the service was very friendly, and they brought the food over to the table promptly. The food portions were decent for the price, and you are definitely able to get full from just the combo. Highly recommend the fries - they were very fresh and crispy, light and golden done to perfection. Ordered both the East Coast Classic and the Barrington rolls, both included a good amount of lobster and the proportions of the other components (sauce, lettuce) was all well. Also ordered both shrimp mini rolls (crispy and classic) and these both offered a fair good amount of shrimp for being mini rolls - especially for the price of 3.99. The atmosphere was creative and fun, although some of the seating could be more comfortable. Overall, very impressed by the high quality seafood and service you get at this place. Will be back again.

No issue with the service and atmosphere, but the food :/ Was looking forward to trying their lobster roll for a while since I saw their store, and from looking at their online menu. Was terribly disappointed. I expected lump meat but was given a shredded mess of a seafood salad. Could barely taste any lobster. Overall just wet, sloppy, and tasteless. I attached photos of what I got, and also a picture of what it looked like on their website. See for yourself the difference. If I came again I would probably try their cheaper menu options, never again the lobster roll.

Blue Claw Lobster Shack – Review I spotted this place on social media when it first opened and made it a mission to check it out the next time I was in the area. It’s a cozy little dine-in spot that’s small and comfortable. I came for the lobster rolls and went with the Barrington Spicy Roll combo, based on the cashier’s recommendation. It’s a warm roll loaded with lobster, sriracha aioli, celery, herbs, lemon, and (usually) onion…I skipped the onion on mine. The roll was solid. The bread was soft, light, and buttery, and the lobster was flavorful. I’d give it an 8.7/10. My only wish? That the rolls were a bit bigger. The space is clean, including the washrooms, and the vibe made for a great first visit. Glad I finally checked it out. I’ll probably stop by again when I’m in the area

Ordered the east coast lobster roll. It didn't taste very good. Very bland and not what I'd expect from a joint that specializes in it. No seafood flavour was noticeable, felt almost like it wasn't lobster at all. Expensive for the portion too. Not recommended.

The food quality is outstanding. The portions are good. The service is friendly and helpful. We ordered the chowder with added lobster and fish and chips. I wouldn't add lobster on the chowder next time - it's not really worth it, and it doesn't add much. The fish and chips were excellent, and I would have ordered another plate if I wasn't trying to lose weight. The place is creatively decorated. Keep in mind that this fast food, so don't expect silverware and table side service - but honestly, who cares when the food is this good!

Google
The food was good, but the portions were smaller than expected for the price. It's definitely nice to try, especially if you're in the mood for a lobster roll, but I probably wouldn’t return unless I’m really craving one.

I came here a couple months back, I had the the Halifax burger with tar tar sauce. It was fresh. For me it was a 3.5 for my wife a 4.5. Came to $16.82 (15% tip included) You’ll probably love it if you’re into seafood. Staff not overly pleasant, but still polite. Came in 09/17/24 to try the Moncton burger with truffle fries and coke. Came to $20.72 (15% tip included) The staff reminded me of the walking dead. Zero personality, zero energy and I felt unwelcome, much like last time. Moncton burger was mostly bun, very little fish fillet. It was so strange I took a bite then my next bite was all bun. Incredibly cheap serving for the price. It tasted no better than a McDonalds fish fillet, except McDonald’s is half the price with twice the amount of fish, no exaggeration. Fries were fries. Nothing to write home about. Last time I’ll come here.

I tried the lobster tots and the East Coast classic lobster roll. I appreciated the generous amount of lobster in both dishes, but I felt the lobster could have used a bit more flavor to really shine. The service was quite slow, even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy. On the plus side, the ambiance was pretty decent, offering a comfortable setting for the meal. Overall, while the portions were satisfying, faster service and more flavorful lobster would enhance the experience. Still, it's a decent spot for lobster lovers.

Yelp
This casual seafood rolls place is by the same people behind Lobster Burger Bar. They get 3.5 stars. Seaside sensation roll & ferry crunch roll were pretty decent, with rich bread & enough stuffing. I don't know if frying the lobster & shrimp in the latter merited charging $2 more though. Lobster tots had a lot of lobster for $8 & were decent, though I think the sriracha note didn't work.

Yelp
This review is for the location at 'The Well'. We got the East Coast Classic Lobster Roll-$16.95 - It comes chilled and even though at first it didn't seem like much lobster meat as it was placed in the middle of a slit bun, it turned out to be a good decent portion of meat. This was enjoyable. Halifax Burger- $12.95 - This was surprisingly good as its blended with lobster meat in a burger patty with your lettuce, tomato and mayo. There's quite a bit of other things we'd venture to try next time.

Yelp
My friend told me about this place and suggested that we go here for lunch. We came by on a Saturday morning close to noon. From the outside, it looked like a small place. However, once I stepped inside, it was quite spacious- the blue colour and the decor added a lovely touch to the overall East Coast vibe. We were warmly greeted by the staff working behind the counter. We looked at the menu and everything looked so delicious! A young friendly lady at the cashier gave us a moment, so that we could narrow down our choices. I ordered East Coast Classic Roll combo (the roll- chilled lobster with mayo, lemon and black pepper + fries and a drink). My friend chose Barrington Spicy Roll (warm lobster, sriracha aioli, onion, celery and lemon herb seasoning). Then when our meal was ready, another young friendly lady called our names. Both were friendly and welcoming, we were happy to have picked this place. My friend has been to another location and shared that the roll tasted much better than the sandwich that she had. She said that she enjoyed the light spicy kick to the lobster and the soft bread. I also enjoyed my roll- there were chunks of lobster meat and I enjoyed every bite! We shared the fries and the drink (I chose a lemonade)- the fries were crispy and fresh, and the drink was lightly sweet and refreshing. Like the other Yelpers mentioned in their reviews, the portion size was small. Therefore, if you have a large appetite, we would recommend that you upgrade a side (e.g. fries to poutine) or order an additional item. Overall, seafood is expensive in our province, so you will pay more for your meal in comparison to another fast food place. If you go with that in mind, you will enjoy your experience. Another item we noted was that all the cutlery items were recyclable. We liked that this place was implementing this! Note: - You can join Blue Claw's reward program to earn points for every order- when you place your order at the counter, a staff will ask you if you wish to join this program. - Sign up to receive exclusive offers on their website and follow their Instagram page to see contests and more! Welcoming staff, delicious food and relaxing vibe, you can't go wrong!

Yelp
Came here for a quick dinner before a movie. We grabbed an east coast lobster roll (which is their regular one) and a seafood chowder each. The lobster rolls were fresh and the buns were toasted nicely. I would say that the lobster needed seasoning because besides the mayo, it didn't really taste like anything. The seafood chowders were probably better than the lobster rolls from a flavour profile but I would say all in all, it wasn't a bad quick eats dinner. Would come back to try the lobster tater tots and maybe a spicy lobster roll?

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place, because I believe it's owned by the same owners as Lobster Burger Bar (my favourite restaurant for lobster in the city). But Blue Claw fell short of expectation. The East Cost Classic Roll is very tiny, and contains more mayo than the classic lobster roll at Lobster Burger Bar (LBB). It still has good chunks of lobster, but I wish they used less mayo in the mix. Taste was just so-and-so. The packaging also seemed a bit excessive... but at least they used recyclable paper.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place after looking for some new restos in the area. Dropped by on the weekend for lunch and the was a small line. Inside the restaurant was clean, but seating is rather limited. It is fast food style where you order at the entrance and call you up when the order is ready. Barrington Spicy Roll - It is a small roll but stuffed with lobster. Lots of mayo and other flavours hide the natural flavour of the lobster. Would recommend getting one that is less seasoned. Lobster was fresh, so there's that. Fish burger - Fried fish on a brioche bun. Not bad, but it felt abit too oily or heavy for me, especially with a super creamy tartar. Truffle fries - These were pretty good. Stick style fries drenched in truffle oil (not much truffle smell) but with lots of cheese. Some how alot of the cheese fell to the bottom of the container so I was left with alot of cheese and seasoning with no fries.

Yelp
This place really reminds me of the Maritimes. Cute blue wood paneling with homey arches. Incredible service as well. The waiter was super knowledgeable about all their dishes and gave us great suggestions! All the food here is great! My favourite is the Cape John Crab Roll! So fresh and bright tasting with a spritz of lemon. The lobster tots were fantastic too! I love tots. Their truffle fries are also very truffle-y and crispy! They also have gelato! Not the best for a cold day but so good! I'd definitely come back!

Yelp
I was a bit shocked to see the average rating so low for this place! I was so excited to try it after hearing about their opening! Obviously after coming from Boston it only made sense to continue eating more lobster! I came on a Saturday afternoon. To my surprise, it wasn't that busy. However, I found it a little odd that of the 4 people crowded at the 2 cashier counters, only one of them was working and it took a while for them to get to me (there was only one group before). We got the following to try: - East Coast classic roll: A classic lobster roll that is cold with mayo on a brioche bun. We got the combo with regular fries and a diet coke. Fries were super fresh and crunchy, not soggy at all (I wish I added truffle to mine - will do that next time). Unfortunately the lobster roll was not as flavourful as I would have liked and I wish there was more in the bun. The lettuce could also be ditched for more lobster. 8/10 - Fish and chips: This was absolutely delicious. I think this was the best fish and chips I've had in the GTA that doesn't use a simple basa fillet. It was juicy, but also extremely crispy and the batter didn't fall apart when you bite into it. The fries were also amazing, as I already mentioned. Tartar sauce was very strong with dill and pickle - love it! Even though it's not a lobster item, I honestly think this is one of the stars on the menu. 10/10 - Seafood chowder (with lobster meat): Very flavourful, I really liked it. Reminded me of an amazing clam chowder that I had back in Boston. While the flavours were there, aside from the lobster meat addition I didn't really find any other seafood in there. The portion could have been larger too. 8/10 All in all, very solid! I am very excited for their new location to open too! Toronto doesn't have many lobster roll specialty shops so this is a great addition to the food scene!

Yelp
My friend noticed the lineup for this place and it had recently opened so usually good is good especially since they want to keep business going. We both had the lobster roll. I thought the bun could have been softer. So 1 star down. The filling is decent is 14.95 for just eh lobster and the photo is the filling. You have to stuff it into the bun cause there is only lettuce. So the photo looks like it's crammed with lobster but it's what you see on top there. The seafood chowder has some seafood on top. But I didn't find a single bit more after that. It was $5 so I suppose it wasn't expensive but my chowder was all potatoes. 2 star cause it was tasty but I would not get it again unless I put my own seafood in it. My friend also had the fries. It was those coated fries to make them more crispy. I'm ok with them. I would of preferred fresh cut fries so 1 star for the fries It was crazy busy but let's see in 3-6 months if the quality for the lobster is the same.

Yelp
This is a perfect example of a place that has a good TikTok strategy but totally Drops the ball on the actual product. Look at the great photos they use for their menu/marketing and what you get. Service was fine. The tables were not cleaned, and it was freezing inside there. Would not recommend spending your hard earned money on this place until they do right by their menu.

Yelp
Very small serving of lobster in the roll. My wife commented that if you put two lemon of the slices end to end that would be the amount of lobster in the roll for $18 . This our second time and our last.

Irene B.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the staff are friendly. We really enjoy the blue crab and lobster rolls. Small place with limited seating.

Mariflor A.

Yelp
Food was good. Very Tasty. But the portion that you get is small. The price is too expensive I think. Service was alright. The place and ambiance is ok. Nothing really wow about it.

Yelp
grand opening this week so 20% off. It's okay - lobster was decent, bun kinda took away a bit from the overall flavour. portion size isn't that big so the photos are a little misleading. i think i just don't like lobster or the concept of a roll that much ?

Talia F.

Yelp
It was good but portions Not good. Small :( uhhm the place was poppin when they were free. But now they're not. Not worth, but cool to check out once.
