We came here for Saturday brunch around 1. They were crowded and we had to wait a while to order and for the food to arrive. The Blue Dolphin used to be a dinner and still feels like one, but the menu is all Italian. The food was quite good and worth the wait.

It had been quite some time since I’d been here and the food was just as delicious as I remembered! Our group ordered Clams, Caesar salad with grilled chicken, Bow tie pasta with Pesto sauce, and an Arrabbiata pasta that was not on the menu. The pesto dish was practically licked clean . It was a large portion eaten by a tiny friend who seldom finishes her plate . The fact that she she managed to devour the entire plate speaks volumes as to the flavor.. I have to admit that I stole a piece of two because it looked so delicious .I ordered the Arrabiata, which was perfectly spiced. I think each and everyone of us enjoyed our food equally. The staff was perfect. They were very attentive, without being intrusive. I had to take a star away from the atmosphere simply because the overhead heaters in the patio area became too hot, and while they were incredibly accommodating in turning them off, it became too cold. Had they been adjustable heaters it would’ve been fine. Looking forward to coming back during the spring months and sampling more of the menu..

This has been and still is a fantastic meal. Martinis are served with the shaker - and there’s another 1/2 a glass in there. The fish is superb, the pastas a simple and consistent, the service with is with a smile. I always look forward to dinner at the blue dolphin.

Google
My first time at Blue Dolphin didn't disappoint. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. The cacciatore and grilled chicken and the pasta were all delicious. We are outdoors under the tent because it was too crowded and cramped indoors where space is very limited. I recommend that you go on a day when the weather is nice and you can eat outside. enjoy the delicious food! 😋

Google
Eating a meal at The Blue Dolphin is always an enjoyable experience. The seafood and pasta are so delicious. Their marinara, cacciatore and vodka sauces are to die for. Fresh seafood all the time, delicious specials daily, lovely wine and cocktails. The atmosphere whether dining inside or out is always fun. This restaurant is a must. Say hello to Alfredo, the owner. He makes everyone feel right at home. The staff is superb.

Google
Delicious, fresh Italian food. Fast and friendly service. Always a good time. It's a bit cramped inside, but always cozy. If the weather is nice, sit on the patio.

Google
The food was delicious with nice sized portions. The service was terrible. The server never came back to see if everything was ok after he served the food and my husband had to go looking for him to inquire about dessert. We wouldn’t go back because good service is important and there was none here.

Google
Excellent spinach manicotti!! The pasta had chew, the ricotta filling and tomato sauce were better than what I would use at home. My partner loved the asparagus in her Asparagus Pesto Farfalle (and the rest of it too). Service was great, a fun and delicious place to eat, if a little loud.

Yelp
Stopped by the Blue Dolphin with friends for a bite to eat after shopping in Katonah. This is a very eclectic Italian style diner with great atmosphere. The menu and food all excellent. Service very friendly and speedy and menu prices very reasonable.

Yelp
Burger and pea soup in Katonah. Decent food. Cute atmosphere. Service good. Thought we were going to a diner but it's restaurant.

Yelp
Excellent service, the menu has an impressive offering of dishes ranging from fish to pasta. Very laid back vibe. I had a chicken panini, very nice.

Yelp
If you want to get transported to Italy while in Westchester, Blue Dolphin is the place to go. The food is authentic & delicious, and their service is meticulous & super friendly. Space is limited inside but they have a big, covered outdoor extension as well.

Yelp
Truly the best Italian spot in the area! I've been coming to Blue Dolphin for the last 2 decades and it never disappoints. I love how they kept the original sign and decor from the diner, too! The pasta is all absolutely delicious. I've tried just about every one on the menu, but my usual favorites are the Penne al Salmone and the Farfalle Ricche. All of the ingredients are incredibly fresh, the pasta is made perfectly al dente, and the results are mouth watering. I make sure to stop by at least once (or twice) whenever I am in town! Service is quick, and everyone who works there is incredibly sweat and personable. I have gotten to know most of the staff well over the last 20 years and have really come to love the whole experience at Blue Dolphin! One tip is to order take-out on busy nights like weekends. Since the place itself is a little small, and because of how popular it is, the restaurant can fill up pretty quick. If you want to skip the line, just order take-out! The staff prepare it quickly. If you do want to dine-in, make sure to get there early or be prepared for a little wait. However, if you do end up waiting, the owner (Alfredo) often comes out and will bring you a glass of wine as you wait for your table! There is also plenty of free parking available around the restaurant. In conclusion, an absolute 10/10 and not one to be missed!

Yelp
We used to love this restaurant. But this time, the shrimp was so overcooked that we couldn't cut it. And the pasta was drowned in sauce, though we specifically asked for light sauce. The pineapple juice we asked for was stale and the second pasta dish was drowned in oil and we'll undercooked even al dente. Sadly, we will not be coming back.

Giles M.

Yelp
The perfect iconic diner drop-in which mustn't be missed! Everything's delicious and the service is first rate!

Yelp
Cute, small, cozy space. Before I went, someone had said they didn't enjoy their scallop meal here (not sure of exact order). I ordered pasta and eggplant. Salad and bread was okay, nothing extraordinary. Service a little slow considering not all tables were occupied at the time. My meal was fine, eggplant cooked well, pasta al dente. Again, nothing extraordinary. My friend, however, was served the wrong dish. She had ordered lasagne and was told it would be a few more minutes to get the order replaced. Realistically, we should have expected it take longer and it did. Twenty minutes later we had to speak to the manager. To their credit, they did not charge us for her meal. There was a line out the door when we left. I was expecting a better meal based on reviews. I might be convinced to give it another try, but there are other local places I'd try first.

Yelp
A top notch neighborhood spot that we are so grateful for. Many wonderful fish and pasta dishes. Amazing chocolate almond cake with ice cream. Homemade limoncello. We go back again and again. The owner, Alfredo, is lovely. Friendly and professional staff and food is very consistant. There is also heated outdoor seating where you can bring your dog.

Yelp
Food is really good and I'm Italian. Pasta was aldente which is hard to find anywhere. Fish fresh rigatoni bullenoise was amazing. We went early so the service was good not busy yet as the restaurant is tiny. They do have a big outdoor area however it's 90 degrees with 95% humidity so other than 1 family no one will eat outside so on a night like tonight get there early

Rick V.

Yelp
Wow! what a nice surprise. The Blue Dolphin appears to be in what had been an old diner. Certainly doesn't look like an Italian restaurant or feel like one. The food and service however is a different ballgame all together. I had the Rigatoni Bolognese and it was perfect! Wife had the Trout, she loved it! As mentioned, the service was friendly and professional. Really nice experience! Hats off!!

Yelp
An institution, this charming spot has the best chicken france we (off the menu, photo below) and eggplant-mozzarella aum aum pasta. The tartufo dessert is also delicious! Get a seat outside and feel like you're in a little Italian village - Katonah is close enough! 5 stars!!!!

David W.

Yelp
It's excellent. Great red sauce place and a cozy diner atmosphere. Straightforward menu that seems more Italian than Italian-American. It's on a par with many of the places we find in Brooklyn. Call this city boy impressed.
google avatar

Douglas S.

Yelp
I went here for my brother's birthday. It's a very small place with big flavor. I had a special, the Veal Ossobuco, it might've been the best dish I have ever eaten. So much rich flavor in the sauce alongside some handmade Rigatoni. My family had the Farfalle Pesto dish and they loved it. For dessert the Chocolate Mousse cake is a must try! Get it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream too! Some of the best Italian you can find in a little place. Definitely worth the wait because there are no reservations.

Anthony T.

Yelp
Excellent food, great service. Place can get noisy and on weekends there are wait times

Yelp
All I can say is WOW WOW WOW!! I'm originally from Little Italy in Manhattan and I must say the food here at the Blue Dolphin is the Best! Truly authentic Italian cuisine!!! The service is spot on! The owner and staff are very welcoming. They do not take reservations and plan on waiting for a table... but so we'll worth the wait!

Peter M.

Yelp
Had lunch here the other day with my wife and her brother and sister-in-law and it was good. I had their burger which was cooked to perfection. My wife had a branzino sandwich which she said was good, but left the entire roll. In-laws both had a seafood pasta dish that they loved. Great to see this place thriving in one of Northern Westchester's nicest little towns. We will be back I'm sure
google avatar

Taxpayer T.

Yelp
I recommend the veal Ossobuco, but you have to call to find out what week it will be on their menu. Now, you have to try the shrimp salad, it is really good. The salmon salad is good too! For desert, you must try the chocolate mousse cake or the cheese cake. I also have to say that the service is really good, and the prices are within reason for Katonah.
google avatar

Patrish L.

Yelp
One of my favorite local restaurants! Large outdoor seating area with good overhead heating units for chilly spring and fall days. My favorite dish is the Farfalla Ricchi -- asparagus and zucchini pesto cream sauce! Service is very attentive and friendly.

Franklin V.

Yelp
Awesome food, ambience and service. Cocktail was excellent as well. Loved the chocolate cake and espresso coffee.
google avatar

Andrea R.

Yelp
Best pasta I've ever had! The restaurant feels so homey and comfortable, and everyone who works there is extremely nice. Every time I'm in town, I make sure to stop by!
google avatar

Yelp
People say they love this restaurant in the below reviews we weren't that impressed. We had the Linguine Pescatore, the calamari was very chewy and didn't taste good. I originally ordered the insalata Mediterranean salad but the waiter said there wasn't any avocado so I switched to the insalata mandorle with shrimp. For the price the shrimp should have been bigger and more ingredients then spinach, cheese and almonds. The waiter looked so annoyed to be there and even tho he was wearing a mask you can see the annoyance in his eyes. We'll stick to the Whitlock down the road.
google avatar

Julia T.

Yelp
Amazing Italian- best in the Westchester area. Super cute vibe and lovely service. Perfect for a dinner date! Warms you right up on a cold evening.

Monty D.

Yelp
Ambiance, great food, great service and very clean. Reasonably priced. Always a good time!

Yelp
Generous portions, very courteous and considerate service from manager Alberto. Pasta is homemade, sauces are not too salty or oily and the wines are not that expensive including rare varieties such as Sicilian Cannonau that featured in National Geographic Blue Zone studies. It was a pleasure being in a restaurant where you could hold a conversation with your dining companion as everybody was very educated. At one point, three dogs came in to accompany the families and even the canines were elegant, reserved and quiet. Lovely gastronomic and social experience.

Patricia D.

Yelp
One of my families' favorite restaurants for many years. Food always delicious - fish - lemon branzino and trout - excellent pasta dishes - including salmon and penne vodka and veal and pork choices wonderful too. Excellent martinis and options for wine. Service exceptional - a shout out to Tito and Rafael. You are welcome like family. If you are looking for a consistently exceptional Italian meal, this is the place for you.

Jeff M.

Yelp
One of our go to places. Always good and great service. No reservations so give extra time if you go at prime time

Robert K.

Yelp
The food, pasta was horrible. I had the orecchiette with garilc, shrimp and olive oil. No flavor whatsoever. I doused it with mounds of salt and still no flavor. It tasted like it was made for a three year old.

Steven D.

Yelp
Have not been there since before Covid and we stopped by the other night as we remembered it as very good. Well times have changed! You can just tell when they come out with stale bread, chips that this is not looking good. Unfortunately we were right as the tasteless soup made me wish for Campbells and brown ice lettuce salad were so poor in quality. The entrees were a disaster as burnt veal and flavorless sauce were the standard. Yes it was crowded but so is Peppino's which is awful. Maybe I am jaded working in NYC but the Italian(?) more like Spanish food in the area is down pitiful. No dessert for us.

Yelp
AMAZING!! Out door seating, delivery, and masks required. And the food is PERFECT. Insanely fast service, and on point Italian cuisine. I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT 100000/10!!!!!!!!! cleaning regularly, and such sweet employees. enjoy!

Cole A.

Yelp
Been coming here for years but have never given a review. This place is the best Italian food spot in town. It has a small diner like ambiance and the food is fantastic. The calamari is always so fresh and cooked perfectly. This place has been around forever and I go every chance I get!
google avatar

Rizwan A.

Yelp
Excellent & friendly service, delicious food and well trained staff regarding COVID-19 social distancing guidelines! Highly recommend the salads and the homemade cheesecake was so light, fluffy and delicious! Would definitely come back again!
google avatar

Bunny D.

Yelp
Love their pasta! Simple but great food, friendly service, great cozy atmosphere, and clean bathrooms! I can tell that they really care. Even finishing touch of a shot of limoncello is sweet! This restaurant is my favorite place to stop in for dinner on my way home from Westchester airport.

John D.

Yelp
Good solid reliable food. Attentive service. Small intimate atmosphere. Great local place to stop in.

Chris W.

Yelp
Great food. Great vibe. Homemade pasta. Staff is awesome. Welcome to go off the menu if you don't see what you like on the menu. No reservations but well worth the wait. Easy parking.
google avatar

Bob T.

Yelp
A Katonah staple! Great burgers believe it or not...veal ravioli, veal capresse or veal anything. Can't go wrong with the pea soup either...pasta is always great!!
google avatar

Kait M.

Yelp
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They took proper COVID-19 precautions by wearing masks and had hand sanitizer available at the entrance/exit. Instead of hard copy menus, they ask customers to scan a QR code so that they can read the menu right off their phones. You can choose whether you want to dine in or eat outside in their outdoor seating area. They provided fast service and the food was delicious!
google avatar

Paula V.

Yelp
I actually really do like this diner, the food is good (I usually get the veal sandwich) we occasionally order take out for lunch for a group of 4+ sometimes and we all really like the food. Problem is ordering the food over the phone sometimes is a problem as were rushed and service via phone order isn't always the kindest so that was a con. Besides that, food is great and it's always busy here so that's another positive thing. It is fairly pricey for a "diner" but I wouldn't really say this is your typical diner - check menu out before coming here but also give it a try as the food is really good.
google avatar

Jonathan K.

Yelp
Great food! Wonderful service. I would recommend to anyone who asks for an Italian restaurant with a true Italian flair.
google avatar

Dave S.

Yelp
Best raviolis in town! Also, the best zuppa inglese in town. I'll actually down down and say they have the best of each that I have ever had. I am a picky eater when it comes to Italian and they have authentic food. The staff has been the same for twenty years and you will feel at home with an extended family. The cappuccino is top notch too. Would recommend anything off the menu. The pasta is all homemade and can be purchased around the corner at their pasta shop. Turnover is quick so if you want to stop in for lunch during a workday you will get in and out.

Donna D.

Yelp
This is the best that you will ever get outside of Italy. So, take a drive to Katonah and indulge. You will be extremely happy. While in Katonah, walk around the corner and visit the Pasta Place. The bread is unbelievable, the freshly made pasta is to die for and the take out food is cartwheels. I'm a chef. 40 years. My favorite thing is going to The Blue Dolphin on my night off.
google avatar

Paula O.

Yelp
Yes, cute. Except for the best burrata and tomato salad that I ever had, food was usually ok. When did the diner turn into restorante? I always had a feeling that people were there hoping that movie stars from the neighboring town would make one of their rumored appearances.
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
Blue Dolphin never disappoints. The food is fresh and they always have great specials. The Wednesday pasta night special is a nice deal, especially since their dessert is so good. Some favorites are linguine vongole, mussels fra diavolo, and any other pasta with shellfish. The house made dressing is addicting. Their tiramisu and carrot cake are out of this world!

Diana A.

Yelp
Nice diner in the heart of Katonah! A good variety of food is offered. Good atmosphere as well.
google avatar

Andre S.

Yelp
Who is eating here and enjoying it?! Who?! We were eagerly planning on picking up takeout from Peppino's, but learned that they suffered a frozen pipe situation and were closed. With limited options, we went into Blue Dolphin and ordered food to go. Upon arrival home we were simply AGOG at what rested in our bag. A "special" named "Grilled Vegetables" comprised of under- boiled carrots, slices of raw tomato and a steamed pearl onion . The Chef apparently has never heard of vegetables that actually are fit for grilling: zucchini, eggplant, peppers or squash. Perhaps the odd selection of veg he offered could be tasty grilled, but because the ones in this special dish never saw a flame-I'm afraid this notion will remain mysterious. Our "chicken scarpariello" was a sad disaster of revolting ingredients that any person with a single tastebud would barf up upon first nibble. Never ever again.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch with my wife while shopping in the area. We wanted something fun but simple on this hot summer day, and we got exactly what we were looking for here. The Blue Dolphin is located smack in the center of town, and while it is "diner-ish" the food is high quality and they provided great service with a smile. The cuisine is definitely Italian, and at dinner, the traditional hot and cold antipasti head the list, followed by Pasta, and the Secondi Piatti. Seated at a comfortable window seat, we were served some warm fresh bread and water. Most of the customers appear local, as everyone seems to know the hostess. I had the Mediterranean salad with grilled shrimp and the house Italian dressing. The shrimp were medium sized, plentiful (more than six) and cooked perfectly. The greens were fresh and crispy and the dressing was home-made - this dish hit the spot. My wife had the Insalata Riviera - sliced turkey and grilled Portobello mushroom on bed of lettuce which disappeared in no time. Wednesday night is PASTA NIGHT, with a special menu.

Yelp
Best restaurant in Katonah. Nicest staff and authentic, delicious Italian food made from scratch. The wait is well worth it. I could eat there every single day and never get tired of their fare. The staff is friendly; where they even recognize your voice when you call in for take out. A treasure. After writing this I think I will go there for lunch.

Michael K.

Yelp
We were traveling and got a rec from a friend. Went on a Friday night. They don't take reservations but the wait was not bad. Friendly host, super nice waiter, a little tight but excellent food. Homemade pastas, lots of fish. Nice portions. The thing about this place is that it is a real local hangout that happens to be in an old diner. Host knew almost everyone and made us feel like we were not strangers. Our travels take us up and down 684 so we look forward to returning
