This is a good local bakery on Burgess Street in the Bicheno town centre. They have indoor and outdoor seating and are open from 6am to 3pm daily. We popped in during a recent stay in Bicheno and were served up a good spinach sausage roll and Tassie scallop pie. Coffees served were much better than your run of the mill bakery coffees as well. Prices good, service friendly, would gladly return to Blue Edge Bakery.

Yummy breakfast, good coffee and price is fair. The bacon roll and banana bread was superb. One can sit in or alfresco

This bakery was so good we had to go back the next day! The curried scallop pie was delicious. My family enjoyed the sausage rolls which were generous in size with a flaky pastry and super tasty flavour. They had to go back to have another as they were so tasty. We also tried some of the cakes and slices which were excellent. The coffee was strong and smooth. This is one of the best bakeries we’ve tried on our Tassie travels. Don’t miss out on this one if you are in the area.

Dining Experience @ Blue Edge Bakery. . We stopped by Blue Edge Bakery on our road trip, to stock up on some of their wide range of pastries and confectioneries. . We loved the Meat Pie Scallop Mornay (AUD $10.50), quite different from the usual curried rendition around these parts. This features tender juicy morsels of deshelled scallops, diced potatoes, white onions, and carrots, in a creamy mornay cheese gravy. Served within a crumbly pie pastry crust that is nicely butter glazed, has a sweet savoury milky cheesy salty flavour. . The Fairy Biscuit (AUD $2.40) was a fun and playful morsel. Layered with raspberry jam, this has a firm crunch to texture, with bright biscuity candied earthy floral sweet flavour. . We enjoyed their rendition of the Sausage Roll (AUD $4.50). The exterior puff pastry was crisp flaky with buttery sweet savoury flavour, while the interior filling of minced beef and carrots was tender with meaty vegetal salty sweet savoury flavour. Dressed with tomato ketchup for added vegetal sour sweet flavour. Liked it enough that we ordered another one!

Clearly don’t want business! I understand closing at 3pm. Well sign posted etc but to request a simple toasted sandwich at 2.30 and be told, sorry, kitchen closed is pretty poor. If it was a request at 2.50 then I can understand. Staff packing everything up around us. If you want to close at 2.30 then state that!

A busy and popular bakery that is open really early. The selection is huge and the prices are really affordable. Had my first Tasmanian mornay scallop pie and can say it was tasty- there’s also a curry version. Nothing beats an original meat pie but wouldn’t mind trying all the other available flavours too. We managed to get the first hot crossed buns they have done this year and they were good! Coffee was on point and the staff are so friendly. No wonder both locals and tourists flock here.

Delicious pies and coffees. Steak, Cheese, and Bacon pie was highly recommended by a friend and didn’t disappoint. Also open from 6am so nice to get something after an early morning walk to watch the sunrise

Was glad that it opens early for breakfast... The BLT was good. Coffee was ok but wasn't robust enough for me. Chicken Panini was salty and the chicken tasted overnight. Saw quite a few customers order their award winning pies. Will be back to try their pies next time.

Yelp
This is just a review of their Bakery made pies - AMAZING!!!! I had the Veggie Pie and Hubby had the Chicken Curry. Both were excellent. If you are passing through Bicheno, this is a must-stop! They have a very nice clean bathroom for customers too, and the service was friendly!

Yelp
While waiting for the bus, we had some time to kill so we walked around the area and checked out a few of the bakeries/food spots in town. - Spinach feta potato ($3.90 AUD) - this was okay but pretty unmemorable. Small little cafe where you can grab a few pastries, pies and coffee to go.

Yelp
Great people and great food! We only stayed in Bicheno a short time but ate at Blue Edge each day. Their pies (and really, all the food we ate there) truly are delicious and the staff is so sweet and friendly. They open plenty early so they are the perfect place to fuel up for your big day of adventures on the beautiful east coast of Tasmania. If you're a local, have a steak and mushroom pie for us...we can't get anything like that here in the states!

Yelp
I went here to pick up a quick breakfast as we were starting our road trip early that morning. was hoping to get some scallop pie, but they didn't have any that day. Settled for a chicken and camembert pie ($5ish) which was OK in taste, and medium sized. Also picked up a plain croissant ($3ish), which was fresh and nice, but also nothing special. Good spot though to pick up some pastries or breads while passing through Bicheno!

Yelp
Amazing bakery with good coffee. We loaded up on breakfast and lunch foods as we cycled through Bicheno. Definitely worth a visit. Its the best bakery I've visited in Tasmania.
