We had a wonderful two night stay at the Blue Heron Inn. Our suite was very spacious and comfortable, with quiet central AC, ample clothing storage in multiple oversized bureaus, a ceiling fan, fridge with freezer, and a huge bathroom with steam shower. The room also had a nice (shared) porch balcony overlooking the harbor and a small sitting/dressing room. You can’t beat the location, which is right in the middle of Solomons and close walking distance to everything. The Inn itself is set back from the main street, so it’s quiet and feels secluded in the typically busy little tourist town. There are several dining tables set up along the first floor porch , making for an extremely pleasant and semi-private outdoor setting for breakfast (or take out meals later in the day or eve) . Breakfast by Regan was fantastic; rolled cheese omelets, spinach, apricot cheese puff pastry, and fresh melon on our first morning, and breakfast sliders (thoughtfully prepared the eve before) for us to bring on our early morning fishing trip on the second AM. There is a seafood food truck “ Steamers” available all day in the parking lot of the culinary school/catering company “NoThyme to Cook” next door, which also offers excellent cocktails and wines on their comfortable porch and outdoor seating on a small beach. You can also purchase a bottle here to bring to your room. The Lotus Kitchen, known for its pies, is right in front of the inn, Lighthouse restaurant is two doors down. The Tiki Bar is a three minute walk away, as is the Pier restaurant, Charles Street Brasserie, and Island Hideaway.
