Great place to view Jackson Lake. Sit outside and have a drink. The food was decent, but there were not many choices.

Located within Jackson Lake Lodge, this bar has amazing views. We didn't order food. Our server was great!

Google
I was disappointed with my recent visit to Blue Heron. I ordered a bison burger to go, hoping to enjoy the lovely view outside. However, the staff, particularly a bald gentleman, did not allow me to eat outside. It was frustrating and put a damper on what could have been a pleasant experience. The restaurant has potential, but this policy needs re-evaluation to accommodate guests better.

Google
We came multiple nights in a row during our camping trip in august for some end of day drinks with a view! The view can not be beat! The drinks were good and we enjoyed the onion dip to snack on!

Google
Decent cocktails and sub-par food with incredibly slow service. We were waiting for our server to come back around to order our entrees when the staff began removing the menus from the tables because the dinner service had ended. I had to flag down a random server to make the order just in time, despite having been waiting for an hour already. Our server also never brought us water or utensils until after our entrees had arrived and we flagged him down again. Overall an unenjoyable experience. It's a shame because the view is spectacular.

Google
I see a lot of not so good reviews on here, but I have to say we had a very good experience. First off, we barely got ourselves seated and a wonderful server was already there with water and asked about our drink order. When we ordered our lunch it took a few extra minutes but we absolutely did not care whatsoever because of the incredible views! When our wonderful server came with entrees, she immediately said she would be right back with refills of our beverages. My wife had Burrata and tomatoes and I had the yard bird sandwich. Both were fantastic! The bill was slightly pricey but you're in Jackson, Grand Teton park. Furthermore, you get what you pay for and in my opinion, this was one of the greatest dining experiences we've ever had. It will be a very long time before we ever get back there, but it will NEVER be forgotten! Thank you Blue Heron for an amazing unforgettable experience!

We had drinks on the patio during our trip. Our server was so friendly and provided excellent service. The views of the Tetons are breathtaking. Highly recommended!!

You can not get a better place to dine and view the Grand Teton mountain range! The burgers and fries were great and we ate outside and enjoyed the view. The service was slow but I think they were short-handed the times we ate.

Yelp
Food & drink: My 4 star vs. 5 is based on my limited order I had a absolutely fantastic Gin drink called "The Vespar". Loved it! My hub was very happy with his Spicy Bloody Mary. The drinks were perfect. We had a delicious small plate of olives & mozzarella. The plates being delivered to others looked pretty huge & appealing. Ambiance: Well, what can I say...The outdoor patio had the most amazing views of the Tetons, and a breathtaking lake. For this you will pay a premium for cocktails & food, but it is so worth it. Service: The staff maintained a very friendly attitude as they repeatedly had to climb up & down stairs, along with dealing with a rapid, tourist packed table to table turnover. They were busy! Hard workers for sure. If I would ever visit the Grand Teton National Park, I would definitely return for this patio dining experience.

Michael B.

Yelp
I will add this spot to all future Grand Teton visits! The view is absurd. It's also a nice break from the sandwiches at the campgrounds. Really enjoyed the server. They were well (enough) staffed and calmly dealt with a tour bus that showed up as we arrived. We ran to beat them for a seat. Define eat outside. It is pricey but we just got an app. The nachos seemed pricey at $20 but they did fill us up. They had sweet peppers instead of the traditional jalapeños. That may please more people. They sauce was really good. I enjoyed my canned beer. And everyone enjoyed their drinks. The huckleberry Teton mule was epic.

Yelp
Blue Heron Lounge located inside the Jackson Lake Lodge. Building (inside) is beautiful. Decided to grab a burger on the patio of BHL. The view of the Grand Tetons was pretty amazing. We had front row seat to the views. Our server (KATIE) was great, even with dealing another customer who was just being a .... (fill in the blank). She handled this customer with a smile and grace. We were not impressed at all with the burgers and side salads. Burgers seemed like "high school cafeteria" level. "Side salads" were also meh, tiny and overdressed. The 3 stars are for the view and our server (Katie). Go for the view, pass on the food. Sorry No pics of the food, not worth it.

Yelp
The best place to have a meal and admire the majestic Grand Teton mountain ranges. As we walk up to the second floor to the restaurent, the beautiful large windows displaying the magnificent view was breath-taking and unexpected. All these years of traveling around the world, this view at the Blue Heron bar is unforgettable. We were lucky enough to get a table right outside on a sunny day. It was warm and pleasant. The tomato soup, grill cheese, salads, the Bloody Mary and local cider drinks were delicious. The service was great! This is a place you must stop and see!

Clifford H.

Yelp
Good: hard lemonade, local ipa draft and service OK: marinated olives with mozzarella cheese Bad: price of drink (too expensive) Unbelievable: view of the TETON MOUNTAINS I would recommend this establishment just because of the views of the mountains. I will go back before I leave to try a meal

Dave H.

Yelp
The food is decent, the cocktails tasty, and the service friendly -- but, clearly, the selling point for the Blue Heron is its magnificent views of the Grand Teton range, and sell it they do (dearly). Would I go back again? For that view? Sure!

Maria M.

Yelp
Very nice relaxing place. Service was wonderful, Casey was attentive and friendly. Got some drinks, we were too late for food, but next time we are around, I shall try it. I've heard that the view to the mountains is phenomenal.

Jeremy S.

Yelp
Solid restaurant in Jackson Lake Lodge with views that can't be beat! We had a sandwich with chips and a salad and the food was good, although the portions are small for the price. Definitely recommend the Rueben and their chips on the side were amazing. Great place to grab a bite in Grand Teton Park.

Emma H.

Yelp
Stunning views - worth a stop-in for a drink before sunset. The tall windows had sunshades that blocked some of the view, but there were outdoor seating options. It's all self-seating (no reservations), and unfortunately on the night we were there, the kitchen grills were broken so there was only a very limited bar menu available. However, the burrata and hummus were delicious. We had an amazing server (didn't recall his name but he was originally from Croatia) who gave us a great experience.

Jessie D.

Yelp
Pretty decent appetizer of onion dip and chips (gf and vegetarian). Servers were hard to nail down but very nice. Cocktails were fun. I don't think we'd come back for the price of the food and drink though. The view of the mountain was nice.

Susan Fiolka ..

Yelp
Outstanding views and great menu for lunch/happy hour bites. We enjoyed cocktails and nachos while overlooking an exquisite view of the Tetons. The service was friendly and prices were reasonable for the setting. Highly recommend a stop at this gem.

Bill T.

Yelp
Views are amazing, service very attentive. Watching a bear off the balcony , drinking a beer while waiting for the food can't be beat. My Wife had the grilled cheese--ok but not stellar. My cuban was v good. We would come back for the whole experience.

Krysta M.

Yelp
Tonight I dined in with my fiancé to grab a drink and enjoy the beautiful Grand Teton views - it was a wonderful experience. Drinks, ambiance, and service were all great. Our server, Marko, provided exceptional service with genuine conversation and was very kind. I 10/10 recommend enjoying a night with great drinks and impeccable views here. If I wasn't leaving tomorrow, I would 100% have gone back for another night.

Peter B.

Yelp
This was a stop on our tour from Rapid City to Jackson. The setting is absolutely awe-inspiring. We had luncheon sandwiches, I the rib-eye & cheese, my wife had the hamburger. Both were very good, and the home-made potato chips were special. We also enjoyed two local beers. Highly recommended!

Leena S.

Yelp
The views of the Grand Tetons from the Blue Heron Lounge are stellar. Absolutely magnificent! On that feature alone this place could easily get a 5-star rating. And, I highly recommend you make a stop here for amazing views. Alas, the food does not score as high as the mountain views. Our food was good and our service was just fine as well. We stopped in here for a little snack after a long hike. The Lounge offers a Soup, Salads and Small Plates menu. We ordered the Sweet Corn and Smoked Trout Chowder and the Mini Tostadas. The Chowder was so delicious. For the price, I just wish the bowl was larger.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Spectacular views and limited staff make this place a conundrum. We only had cocktails here by scanning a bar code. You had to get food outside by ordering online and bringing it back in. Obviously, this is temporary, but what a pain! I felt so bad for the single bartender trying to keep up with all the online orders while having customers at the bar stare at him with cold impatient faces. Eventually, someone did come to the rescue to make drinks but geez, what a nightmare with all the tourists everywhere. Our group was in no rush. We were just admiring the views but there was definitely confusion whether to seat ourselves or wait for help and then we saw the bar code on the table. You can go the bar code way or go directly to the bar to order. Drinks were decent, not the best, but enjoyable. They used huckleberry in some of the cocktail recipes which is a unique twist. The drinks were at Vegas prices so we were happy that some of them packed a little punch. Hopefully times get back to normal soon so they don't have to deal with both online and in person ordering while understaffed.

Paul L.

Yelp
Amazing views. Good service. Really wish the food was better. You really cannot beat the views. You are sitting with an unobstructed view of the Grand Teton mountains. Unfortunately, the food was not great. We had lunch and grabbed some hamburgers (I had the Hawaiian burger). It's hard to mess up a burger, but someone they succeeded. The burger itself was tasteless, and overly salty. A Hawaiian burger should have a good teriyaki sauce, but you can barely taste it. The beef was bland and a little stiff and overcooked. Even the potato chips were bland. We went here because the Mural room restaurant was full. Otherwise, this place is a pass.

Carol G.

Yelp
We were with a bus tour when we stopped at Jenny Lake. Before walking the discovery trail, we decided to stop for a quick bite to eat and enjoy the view of the Grand Teton mountains. We sat at a fire pit table on the lower deck and shared a salad which was ample for the two of us. Our server was a very delightful young lady working in the park system for the summer. Service was excellent and we even had cloth napkins with real silverware.

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Staff is friendly and the view is second to none. We tried this place twice during our stay. The tostadas are good, but very oily, nachos were similarly oily; made me feel a little sick afterwards. The chicken wrap is basic, but good. One star reduction due to the small menu.

Josh D.

Yelp
Great view, bad food. I had read the reviews but my dad wanted to visit this lodge so we had lunch to take in the amazing views. I ordered the grilled cheese, it was two slices of cheese that weren't melted on a small ciabatta roll. I ordered the Jackson Lemonade for a cocktail. It was bright pink and I'm pretty sure was Hi-C lemonade with no booze in it. Don't eat here.

Ramon V.

Yelp
Come here for drinks and the view not so much the food. Just wanted a quick bite before heading back to the park. We had some beers and shared a brawt since we weren't super hungry. Beer was good so was the service the brawt not so much. Bun was either old or way over toasted which made it rather hard. Combine that with way too much sauerkraut and you basically have to eat it with a fork and knife because it completely falls apart. Flavor was ok, the views however were great!

Scott G.

Yelp
This place has a killer view and the prices were reasonable BUT the food is mediocre and service lackluster as is often the case at National Park eateries. I had the bratwurst which was incinerated and a Bloody Mary which had a tablespoon of black pepper in it. Only the view saved it from a 2 star rating. It is dog friendly if you walk around the north side of the hotel. Listed in: The Great Southwest Adventure - 2019 https://www.yelp.com/collection/2t6-zVlNVIUt4pCdPPkrtA

Kirk H.

Yelp
The bartenders here were very welcoming and mixed up some great drinks--both specialty and rail. But the draw here is the chance to enjoy your libation with a full view of the Teton range--either outside on their patio or in the bar along the giant picture windows. Yes, you pay a bit for the view, but nowhere else has this view!

Kislev A.

Yelp
Can the view get any better? The Blue Heron Lounge is one of several dining options available at the Jackson Lake Lodge located inside Grand Teton National Park. To get to this bar/lounge/restaurant, you'll have to get to the second level of Jackson Lake Lodge, go through the magnificent lobby with the incomparable view of the Grand Tetons behind the floor-to-ceiling glass windows and go to the right. Though it's named "lounge", we walked in with kids and they didn't even blink. We opted to sit at the outdoor patio so we could sit at the outward-facing bar so we could stare at the Grand Tetons while eating our large-portioned yummy lunches. ADULT GRILLED CHEESE - was a very good choice. PORTOBELLO MUSHROOM SANDWICH - was very filling PRETZEL BITES - the different sauces made it fun for the kids to eat. Free parking at the Lodge.

Tracie P.

Yelp
The Blue Heron Lounge is the bar at Jackson Lake Lodge in Grant Teton National Park. They offer local beer and specialty cocktails and have a large outdoor seating area with a prime view of the Grand Teton range. Such a perfect view of sunset over the mountains means you'll need to get here early if you want a table with a view! We enjoyed a beer from Snake River Brewing and a Huckleberry mojito cocktail on our evening visit. The cocktail was a unique blend of fruity flavors and even had huckleberries in it. This may just be the best bar in a national park -- make a stop if you're in the area!

Katie D.

Yelp
Great view, great food, great drinks, great service! This was the perfect spot during our day in the Tetons and we will definitely be back next time we visit!

Michael P.

Yelp
This is right on the back side of the lodge. The view is amazing. The food is mediocre. They take what you make at home and add a sauce. Being the largest lodge at the Tetons, I was expecting more out of it. The meal seems about $2-$3 too high for what you get. The service is great and the view is amazing. Worth stopping in for a drink but there are better places to eat here.

Mike E.

Yelp
Very disappointing for such a wonderful lodge and setting. Limited menu to say the least, no gluten free options. Chicken sandwiches were very dry from overcooking. Side salad came with no dressing and when requested received red onion vinaigrette the consistency of applesauce. Server seemed to lack empowerment. Conversely our 2 meals at Pioneer Grill were very good and service excellent.

Victoria W.

Yelp
My husband and I took a national park tour for our honeymoon. We came here for the view because it is one of the few restaurants (maybe only?) "on the lake." We were a little disappointed to find that it was only a lake view and not right on the lake. To our surprise, it was self seating and a nice casual restaurant. Once seated, we were immediately greeted by our server, who happened to also be from Austin, TX! We chatted it up, ordered our food, and he recommended some local brews. My husband ordered the beef n' cheddar and I got the portobello mushroom. I must say, I was disappointed by the portion size as the majority of my sandwich was bread and the portobello to bun ratio was the opposite of my liking. Also, for $13 and $11, the meal basically came with no sides. My husband got a handful of chips and I got a handful of greens. After our $50 meal, we were still hungry, so that was the downside. The upside: lovely view, casual atmosphere, good drinks, and excellent service!

Vijay S.

Yelp
Amazing view, good cocktails and Aok food. Would recommend getting the huckleberry margarita and the burger. Def stop by if you're visiting grand Teton atleast for the view. Prices are in the $$ range. I do not recommend the brussel sprouts appetizer as they were all raw and hardly few of them were roasted.

Debbie W.

Yelp
We are back for a second try. I like to give people a second chance but right now we have only gotten sub par service. Bartender yesterday was as cold as ice and rude beyond belief. Today isn't any better. If you don't like people get a job where you don't have to be nice to people! Today was even worse. Customer service is dead in the Blue Heron. Young manager needs to learn how to manage her people. You can't be the servers best buddy when you have a job to do.

Michael W.

Yelp
Service: 4.5 Stars! The service here is fantastic, without a doubt. They could probably use one or two more waiters during their busy time, but even when crowded, the waits been visits weren't that long. Food: 2-3 stars. Some of the food is very good. Some of it is not. The beef and cheddar sandwich was great, with a nice touch of horseradish. The chicken sandwich had a nice spicy kick to it, but both mine, and my Father-in-Law's chicken was somewhat dry. The burger looked good, a traditional burger. The home made chips (bbq flavored) were good. (Great when dipped in the cheese sauce from the beef and cheddar). The boar shank was good, but the rice we had with it was hard and crunchy (Very undercooked). The Waiter quickly replaced it. (Again the service is fantastic). The greens on the side (an option instead of chips) have a nice light dressing with them. Drinks: Very good! 4-4.5 stars. A decent selection of beer (I guess? I don't drink beer). My wife, Mother-in-Law and I tried a series of their huckleberry drinks. The margarita and mojito were very good. The huckleberry vodka lemonade was..fine. The huckleberry whiskey drink was decent. Nice flavors. (I still prefer my whiskey with a big ice cube, and nothing else I guess). All the drinks were well made. Our first visit, they had more muddled huckleberries than the second. (day one had 4.5 stars for drinks, day two had 4 stars). The place was clean, with a VERY nice outdoor view of the valley, where one can view elk and moose, and beavers and birds. Prices are a little high, but it's in a touristy hotel lodge, so that's to be expected (Huckleberry drinks are 12-15 dollars each, meals are 12-15 for sandwich types, and 20-26 for entrees). I'd go back for the views, the service, and specific items from their menu. Without the views and the service, I'd not come here again.

Bill G.

Yelp
Firstly, Blue Heron is located inside the Jackson Lake Lodge, which is off Jackson Lake Rd (not Jenny Lake Rd). The best thing about the Blue Heron lounge is the awesome views of Jackson Lake and the Grand Teton mountain range behind it. Seriously, it's breathtaking. The staff there are very nice and the bar serves beer, wine, and liquor. I had some decent glasses of red on a couple nights (and they fill the glass up, don't worry) and a few scotches on other nights. It's a nice lounge/bar to hang out in, but the best part is outside, within view of the mountains. If there's one thing I wish I could have done, it is to sample more of their food menu. They offer some small/tapas plates and I ordered the Charcuterie & Cheese plate, which is "Elk, wild boar, and buffalo salumis with assorted cheese, grain mustard". It's about $8.95 but it's very good (I Iike the wild boar salami the best). The Blue Heron sliders are also tasty. Nothing beats good bar food, beer (try the Old Faithful Ale from the Grand Teton brewing company), and a mountain view. (keep watching the marsh in front of the mountains and you'll probably spot some elk running around). By the way, wi-fi may be spotty (even inside the lodge viewing room, where it works best, it's still spotty) but Verizon 3g works.

Rick C.

Yelp
Fantastic view of the Tetons are enjoyed with ~30 foot floor-to-ceiling windows. This lounge is located upstairs and off-to-the side of Jackson Lake Lodge Lobby. Unbelievable scenery of the Grand Tetons are enjoyed throughout the restaurant and outdoor patio dining area. An attractive wraparound bar features floor-to-ceiling windows. We enjoyed tasty small plates consisting of charcuterie and salads which were locally sourced. The weather was perfect enabling outdoor grill activity. The barbecue entrees looked delicious!

Terry D.

Yelp
I feel horrible for writing this review because we love the lodge as a whole! We ate at Blue Heron a couple of times last year and really liked it. This year, the service is slow and the rice I received with my jerk chicken was so hard and crunchy, I thought they served Grape Nuts with the chicken. You know something is wrong when the BBQ at the pool now looks more appealing than one of the restaurants at the lodge. This kind of sucks because we are here all week and have no desire to go back to Blue Heron. That's minus one restaurant to choose from.

Mason P.

Yelp
Amazing food. Unique menu selections, but I haven't had anything I didn't enjoy! At times, there's a wait but it's a little expected so just anticipate the wait or plan according but it's worth the wait!

Carl C.

Yelp
First off, the Jackson Lake Lodge is legit. Super huge general lounge w some of the best views of the Tetons, youll know what I mean the instant you enter. Inside of this beautiful lodge is The Blue Heron Lounge, which seems to be the bar thats most "poppin'" when it comes to the 'bar scene' at grand teton national park. The huckleberry lemonade cocktail had some good taste, and everything our group ordered hit the spot! The combo of amazing views, good fare, and well mixed drinks proved to be a good time for everyone involved

Brad W.

Yelp
We ordered lunch immediately after sitting down and after 50 minutes we still didn't have our food. We had to walk out to get back onto our Insight tour coach. Several others on our coach also had to walk out without food. This is an unacceptable level of service for a facility that caters tours. The tour director and coach captain did a great job but they can't control the kitchen.

Deborah N.

Yelp
Well, there's the view. And then there's the view. Did I mention the view? Spectacular view of the mountains, plus good food and beer. I had the portobello sandwich and Howling Wolf Hefeweizen. Perfect afternoon.

Bob F.

Yelp
My wife and kids tried the Blue Heron lounge after a long day in Grand Teton National Park. Kids can't eat in the bar area, which was fine because we sat outside and enjoyed the view of Mt. Moran and the rest of the Teton range. As soon as we sat down, a waitress brought us water and took our drink order. The beer selection was great and the wine selection wasn't bad either. I recommend the Pako's IPA on draft. We split a trout salad which was fantastic and had veggie burgers which were quite good. Although it was nothing fancy, the food was flavorful and was perfect fare after a long day of sightseeing. The staff was great even though they were busy and were great with our kids.

J B.

Yelp
Can't beat the view; good service. Salads had a touch too much dressing - hubby and I both enjoyed the adult grilled cheese sandwich. They let us split their small plates - no problem. Huckleberry cocktails are sweet if you like that. I squeezed the lime hard into my mule which saved it.

SR S.

Yelp
Look, they could serve saltwater and they'd get five stars because of the incredible view. But their cocktails are good! Had the huckleberry margarita. I was skeptical but it worked. My wife had the huckleberry mojito, which the very much enjoyed. Service was good too. I will say the it's pricey. But the views are priceless and easily worth the extra couple of bucks they charge per drink.

Alyssa N.

Yelp
The huckleberry margarita is awesome! Sitting outside with that view and a drink in hand is sublime.

Vikas M.

Yelp
Great views of the grand Teton mountains. Food was decent and service was quick and attentive. Could have more options for vegetarians.

Sean L.

Yelp
Loved this lounge. Drinks were fresh and well made. Food was absolutely fantastic. We had the Brussels and cheese, the house salad, the burger and the ribs. The ribs were the highlight but all was very delicious and hot when served. The waitstaff were well above par, friendly and attentive. I would greatly encourage sitting outside to enjoy the views. Will most definitely be returning on our next trip.

Thérèse HC W.

Yelp
Love the environment, the service, the food. Great place to have lunch with a great view of all those mountains. The food was good too, especially their chowder and watermelon salad. So happy we found this place when we were there.

Ben H.

Yelp
Far above average pub grub, great beer list & a view That Can't Be Beat. Staff are always a little overworked, but their service is professional & courteous.

Claudine V.

Yelp
Food was ok. Nachos has chez wiz. Disappointing. The beer brat was smaller than the bun. The corn chowder was more like potatoe chowder. Two stars for food. One star for location and view.

Kelly M.

Yelp
Huckleberry mojito is delicious without being too sweet. Bottles of wine start at $26 which is very reasonable considering the incredible Teton view you enjoy with your drinks! Food is decent considering it is prepared at a small catering station in the bar area. Edamame was served cold but was well seasoned. Nachos were average bar nachos. Service is polite but a bit rough around the edges. Seating available inside or outside. Come in the evening to hear the pianist in the hotel lobby or watch the sunset from the porch.
