Yelp
Service: 4.5 Stars!
The service here is fantastic, without a doubt. They could probably use one or two more waiters during their busy time, but even when crowded, the waits been visits weren't that long.
Food: 2-3 stars. Some of the food is very good. Some of it is not. The beef and cheddar sandwich was great, with a nice touch of horseradish. The chicken sandwich had a nice spicy kick to it, but both mine, and my Father-in-Law's chicken was somewhat dry. The burger looked good, a traditional burger. The home made chips (bbq flavored) were good. (Great when dipped in the cheese sauce from the beef and cheddar). The boar shank was good, but the rice we had with it was hard and crunchy (Very undercooked). The Waiter quickly replaced it. (Again the service is fantastic). The greens on the side (an option instead of chips) have a nice light dressing with them.
Drinks: Very good! 4-4.5 stars. A decent selection of beer (I guess? I don't drink beer). My wife, Mother-in-Law and I tried a series of their huckleberry drinks. The margarita and mojito were very good. The huckleberry vodka lemonade was..fine. The huckleberry whiskey drink was decent. Nice flavors. (I still prefer my whiskey with a big ice cube, and nothing else I guess). All the drinks were well made. Our first visit, they had more muddled huckleberries than the second. (day one had 4.5 stars for drinks, day two had 4 stars).
The place was clean, with a VERY nice outdoor view of the valley, where one can view elk and moose, and beavers and birds.
Prices are a little high, but it's in a touristy hotel lodge, so that's to be expected (Huckleberry drinks are 12-15 dollars each, meals are 12-15 for sandwich types, and 20-26 for entrees).
I'd go back for the views, the service, and specific items from their menu. Without the views and the service, I'd not come here again.
