Blue Hills Motel

The location is fabulous, easy walk to Salamanca markets, restaurants, cafe’s and the docks.|At first glance the place looks like a dodgy drug retreat. I was apprehensive to even go inside. |If you have a car, get in early as there are very limited car spots. Reception is only open 9-5, no staff after these times. |We were located on the second floor. Not suitable for anyone that has trouble with stairs as there is no lift. |Inside the room had been renovated and was pleasant enough. We needed to go to reception and ask for extra pillows as we only had one each and they were flat. No extra linen in the cupboard . |The bed was comfortable and sheets were clean. |The room has no smoke alarm which I think may be illegal. |In the cupboard there was coffee, tea ect.. The fridge had a tiny milk carton. |The window in our room faced directly into the next room and we could clearly see the couple in the next room. We had to close the blinds.|No fan, no air-con, no heating and no electric blankets. |The bathroom had been renovated however, the shower water goes all over the bathroom floor and could be a disaster if someone slips. |It’s not a bad place to stay if it’s just for one night.|If you need to stay for more than one night, spend a few extra dollars and go somewhere else.

This place is absolutely disgusting — it doesn’t even deserve zero stars. The property is broken, the rooms have no airflow at all, the smell is awful, the bathrooms are terrible, and the carpet is filthy. Do not trust the photos they have posted on booking platforms; they are completely misleading. I have already written to Booking.com to lodge a formal complaint. This place should not be operating as a business. Look at the real photos I have posted and compare them with the one they have on booking.com and other platforms. Scams.

Ok of you like Aldi you wont mind this...get yr own towels from a cupbaord.no room service / cleaning untill you depart. Under my bed was filthy..dusty..the skirting boards are dusty...the reception is not manned very much at all and yet when they are they appear to be to busy... the rooms are kitted out for a night or maybe two...nt more no microwave or kitchette area...there is a small very smsll bar fridge missing inside racks..their is no mirror in the unit apart from one in the bathroom...the shower has no curtain. Water everywhere...maybe it suits some people and i shop at aldi but sometimes i do like a bit of domething and expectations, to have a mirror in the room so i can get ready...a microwave ? Or maybe some racks in the fridge or just a bit clean...maybe im fussy...

Never received a response.

Blue Hills Motel is right in between Hobart and Sandy Bay. Minimalist hotel with nice little compact rooms and freshly renovated bathrooms. I was here in February so it was a warm evening. I had the windows open but the place is fairly quiet. Walking distance to Salamanca Market/ Battery Point and in the other direction is Sandy Bay with their take away eateries, restaurants and supermarkets.

Our room was horrible. Tiles in the bathroom were broken and shower barely worked. The place is in need of a desperate tidy up or rebuild. No service at all, no one behind the front desk for the entire time we were there. Young teenagers from another room causing trouble. Three police cars and an arrest at around 2am on a Wednesday night. Would not recommend to anyone, ever.

A very good experience. To be recommended as low cost sleeping opportunity, the room was up to date and well equipped. Staff very friendly. Be aware to book early and first send copy of ID Docu and phne nummber in separate mail to get code for keysafe

Great location. Shower didn't drain well. Roof was leaking during the rain, there was a patch on the roof but it was still leaking. Fairly run down.
