J ust spent a half day at Blue Hole and honestly, it was super chill. The water’s insanely clear and cold—in a refreshing way—and those rope swings? So much fun. It’s got that classic Texas Hill Country vibe, with huge trees and that laid-back energy. Not too crowded either, which made it even better for just laying out or floating around. The hiking trails were peaceful and easy to follow. Perfect spot to unplug, cool off, and just enjoy some nature without feeling too remote. Definitely coming back.
The swimming area was really well maintained and the grassy lawn gave off major picnic-and-nap energy. It had a good mix of families, friend groups, and solo folks just doing their own thing. You do need a reservation to swim during the season, but it’s 100% worth it. The walk from parking to the water is short and scenic. Everything just felt really easy and peaceful. If you’re looking for a low-key nature day with some Texas charm, this is the move.
