Stayed here for a week with my daughters. Owners kept in touch from point of booking, very friendly and helpful. The hotel was really nice, a good sized room with 3 single beds, air conditioning & fridge were life savers in the heat. Owners booked taxis for us to and from airport, sent messages with sightseeing suggestions. The location was prefect, near loads of nice restaurants and a 10/15 min walk to colosseum. Right near the termini so easy access to the metro. Would definitely recommend.

This hotel/hostel was underwhelming at best. The room was tiny ( no surprise for Rome) basic (furniture and bathroom) with a shower that leaked onto the floor no matter how tightly you tried to close it. The tv didn't have ANY English channels. They did provide coffee and a refrigerator. The rooms are on the 3rd or 4th floor (60 stairs)walk up. Cleaning staff arrived at 7:30-8 am for a noisy morning. In addition, because of a notice about a train strike( 10 days before my arrival), I tried to leave one day early to avoid the strike and was denied. I ended up getting a hotel nearby for half the price and lost out on one day of my next reservation in Puglia. I don't understand all the glowing reviews. I wouldn't recommend this place

Had a fantastic stay at The Bluehostel in Rome! The place was clean, cozy, and full of charm. The location is super convenient—close to Termini station and walking distance to many sights. The host was incredibly kind and helpful, giving great tips for exploring the city. Felt safe and at home throughout the stay. Would definitely come back and recommend to friends!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Blue Hostel! The location is perfect for exploring Rome, and walking distance from the main train station. Being right across from Santa Maria Maggiore is lovely - hearing the bells in the morning makes you really feel like you are in Italy! While the hostel is located in a historic building, the rooms have all modern amenities, such as good Wi-Fi and generous bathrooms. The hosts are super helpful, providing guests with a map of Rome pointing out all their favorite spots. Great for traveling alone or with friends - highly recommend!

Actually, I would give this more than five stars if I could. Alessandro and her Ercole, were stellar, their hospitality was top-notch from the time we arrived till the time we left. they are experts in their city and their suggestions shaped most of the events of our stay in Rome. Very responsive through text on WhatsApp and always helpful. The room was romantic, rustic, simple, and perfect. The room was stocked with excellent coffee and a fridge with water in it. Be aware of lots of stairs ! This was an authentic Rome experience!

We really LOVE the Blue Hostel. It's hidden away up a few flights of stairs. The room feels like a safe haven in busy Rome. It's tastefully decorated, comfortable, quiet and spacious. The beds are amazing. We slept like babies. Alessandro is an amazing host and has given us great tips for food and visits.

Located within a fairly basic Rome apartment block ( hence ‘hostel’ not ‘hotel’). Ignore that and discover a lovely room, stylishly decorated, quiet. And nice size. Couple that with extremely friendly owners, nice welcome and helpful when help needed, means this is a find. The area is not upmarket, but then the room is not €500. ! Only negative are the stairs if overloaded with too much luggage. Scowl from a permanent resident in one of the apartments turned to a smile when an offer of help carrying her bags up was made.

The Blue Hostel may have been the cleanest place I have ever stayed. The room had a lot of character and I felt very comfortable there. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was prime. I’ll stay there again and recommend to anyone who doesn’t mind taking stairs. The map they provided was extremely helpful in navigating the streets and planning our days.

Yelp
Up many flights of stairs is a hallway with some bedrooms. Not just any old bedrooms but a Clean, tidy, well cared for and very safe space. This is Blue Hostel. The gent in charge was very helpful and had great food suggestions. This is our second stay here and it is unchanged, clean and tidy. The decor is modern and attractive, the sheets were super awesome linen! So, like I am in trouble here as we now NEED $heet$ just like these....say a prayer for me! Bottom line: worth it as Roma is your living room.

Yelp
Blue Hostel leaves you feeling anything but blue. In fact, it doesn't even feel like a hostel either. Instead you'll find a beautiful room with plenty of space. It actually felt more like a great hotel room rather than a hostel. The rustic building gives it the traditional Roma feel but the interior is very modern. Everything from the all white spotless bathroom with the modern shower and sink/mirror will make you very comfortable. I also enjoyed the tall ceilings which are the original ceilings that are many hundreds of years old. Very cool. You'll even have your own window overlooking the courtyard and that is always nice to have the sun shine into your room. All of this is away from the hustle and bustle of the city so you'll have a quaint and peaceful room to yourself. The room itself was very clean and also had a stylish feel to it that made it very accommodating and comfortable to stay in. The bed is very comfortable and there is even a cabinet to store your luggage and clothes. I would say the room is spacious enough to fit a couple comfortably but I could see a small family staying in the room as well. Plus there is free wi-fi which is perfect for planning out your day. As far as service goes, Alex and Ercole are also extremely helpful and great guides to the city as well as to your room and to Blue Hostel. They truly do everything they can to make you feel like you are a native and that you are right at home. Alex provided us with large maps of the city and then took the time to point out restaurants, sights, etc. He even catered it to us by pointing out the areas that natives go to and also pointing out less touristy spots. If you have any issues, there is a phone provided in the hallway that you can call hotel management and they will be very quick to respond. Probably the best part of Blue Hostel is the location. It is walking distance from mostly everything including the major tourist sites like the Colosseum. It is also incredibly close to the Termini station which means taking the train to another city or to the airport is a breeze. Overall, I really enjoyed Blue Hostel. Alex and Ercole really try to make you feel at home and do so without making the cost exorbitant. That is truly unheard of when you compare to other hotels in Roma. I also appreciated the location and the safety you feel. That is because you'll have a set of keys that lock various doors before you get to your own room. I would recommend Blue Hostel to all travelers and they really helped to make our trip to Roma a fantastic one!

Yelp
I was so excited to stay at Blue Hostel as a guest for my Travel and Food blog, www.camchowda.com Blue Hostel is truly a gem in the heart of Rome and it won't break your bank either! The Blue Hostel Roma is a clean, charming boutique hotel that gives hostel travelers a "four star experience." Despite its name, the Blue Hostel truly did not feel anything close to a "hostel." It was more like a quiet oasis away with a homey B&B ambience with a personal touch. Room: The room was very charming with the right amount of space for a couple. There was a little fridge, TV, air conditioning, dresser with a key lock, free WIFI, and a very modern shower. It has great lighting from the huge window facing the internal court. The decor was simple and clean with a hint of red and there were even a few reading books available. One interesting fact is that the original timber ceilings are from 1750s, giving it a historic taste. Please note the rooms are a few flight of stairs up, nothing too grueling I promise. There isn't a 24/7 service but they do have a phone in the corridor where you can call anytime you need something. Service: Ercole and Alex were so welcoming and made you feel like home! We were greeted by Alex who gave us a brief tour and thoroughly explained the personalized map with a lot of personal recommendations for restaurants and attractions to check out. It was very helpful with a few tips and recommendations for non-touristy places. Ercole was so kind enough to write me a letter welcoming me since he was unable to check us in. Location: Very central location to everything! It is a close 5-8 minute walk from the station Rome Termini. There are cute little restaurants nearby that are convenient. Everything is truly walking distance, it will take about 15-20 minutes to the Colosseum and the other main attractions. If you want need to take the metro, it is within walking distance as well. We always felt very safe even walking back at night, you get through two doors with locks before getting to your own room for extra security. What's so great about Blue Hostel's mission is that they want to provide a nice accommodation at reasonable rates in Rome. It truly felt like we were living like the locals with our own little apartment room in the heart of the city. Tip: There is a very small sign on the door that says "Blue Hostel," be sure to look for the number 13 instead. For a in-depth review, check out my post here: http://camchowda.com/bluehostel/

Yelp
Taxi transfer available from Fiumicino Airport - bit pricey but worth it, 50€. We were greeted by Ercole on our arrival, who kindly showed us where landmarks, restaurants and other handy places were. Very comfortable stay - rooms are small but provide all you need. Very clean, cute rooms. Only downfall was that there is no breakfast option. Price very reasonable. Close to termini train station, many good restaurants, and all landmarks.
