Blue Hotel Fagrilundur

We stayed at this hotel for three nights, and it was perfect. The self check-in was super easy and made everything very relaxed. The location was great, right by the main attractions of the Golden Circle. Everything was very clean and cozy, and we felt at home straight away. The hotel and restaurant looked beautiful, especially in the winter landscape—so romantic! The highlight for us was the whirlpools, which were amazing after a cold day outside. The hotel even provided bathrobes, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was fantastic, with so much attention to detail. We especially loved the coffee machine and the crispy bacon! We had an amazing time and would definitely recommend this place. Can’t wait to come back!

A wonderful experience. The hotel is clean, modern, pleasant, cozy, with comfortable beds and a large bathroom. We enjoyed both the hot tub and the breakfast in the cozy wooden cabin near the hotel. We accidentally made the reservation a day before our arrival, which we only realized once we got there, but the hotel staff quickly resolved the issue and rebooked the reservation for the correct day, which they didn’t have to do. I really appreciate this human approach and I highly recommend it to everyone.

This hotel is absolutely amazing! It's so modern and in a fantastic location, only a couple of years old. We had the most wonderful time there! We spent two great nights. The rooms are so lovely and clean, and they're actually quite spacious for hotels in Iceland! The hotel was also kind enough to provide us with bathrobes and slippers so we could enjoy them in their hot tubs! The bathroom was really lovely, with big, modern concrete walls and a big shower. The beds were so comfy for our backs! But honestly, we were just so tired after all our daily activities that we probably would've slept well anywhere. We loved the cosiness and luxury of this hotel. The breakfast was served in the small wooden cottage, just a few steps from the main building. The food was delicious, and there was a coffee machine making tasty hot drinks and hot chocolate. There was a large car park – no problem finding a spot even if you arrive at midnight! We'd love to stay with Blue Hotel Fagrilundur for longer next time we're in Iceland.

I recently stayed for two nights and found the check-in process to be exceptionally smooth. This is a lovely property in a perfect location, with clean and comfortable rooms that made my stay very enjoyable. The breakfast was delightful and served in a cozy setting. The staff were professional and kind, which added to the overall positive experience. I highly recommend staying here when visiting the Golden Circle!

We had an excellent stay here. Rooms are comfortable, breakfast is good, excellent restaurant (Mika) right across the street, good proximity to many of the "Golden Circle" sites. I think there would be good vantage points for Northern Lights on some of the nearby side roads, but it was foggy during our night there, so I don't know. Highly recommended.

Do not go to this place if you want to see the northern lights. The tomato field not far away during the night produces very strong light pollution. Breakfast is of low quality for the proposed cost. We asked the staff about the possibility of staying one night less due to a personal problem, and we were informed that we would get no refund (it was within their rights, but neither was the breakfast we would not consume??? A little humanity and less attachment to money would have been appreciated) The guy in the breakfast room was rude to us. The rooms are clean and modern. There are two artificial pools outside, I think that is the only thing that can raise the price so much for so little quality.

We booked a one-night stay directly at the Blue Hotel website and had an amazing experience with them. The rooms are very clean and spacious, they also had bath robes and slippers for their guests so we could use them in their hot tubs. The breakfast was tasty and the coffee machine made delicious coffee and hot chocolate. When we are back to Iceland next time we are going to stay more days with the Blue Hotel Fagrilundur

I’m not sure how this hotel is only 3 star on booking.com. It’s perfect. Self check in is good, breakfast in great, atmosphere is lovely, hottubs are good and the town is nice.
