This is a place for the young who stay up late and chat with strangers in broken Spanish and English. It is a place where you can get your shuttle to the Amazon jungle. If you are single, you may find a travel companion.
This is a place for the young who are easy going, and for the frugal older travellers like me and my partner, who rather spend our money on good restaurants rather than fancy accommodations.
It can get loud. Smokers congregate in the open patio. Some of the folks may look rough, but just say hola or Buenos Dias and you will find they are warm and friendly.
They provide free luggage storage, and they offer a breakfast and laundry service for additional charges. There are also lots of cheap places where you can eat, mini-markets, and laundry facilities. It is well situated and is on a major express bus line.
They provide a kitchen with a mishmash of cooking utensils and spices so you can save money by self-catering. They also provide unlimited filtered water 💦
We had a room with a private bath, balcony, queen size bed along with two bunks with privacy curtains. It would be great for a family with kids, but we used the bunk to lay out our many clothes (You need clothes for every season in Ecuador!)
I liked this place. It was chill and well run although by looking at it, you may wonder what holds the place together. The answer is the hardworking and always helpful staff.
