We came here on Monday for Dinner and returned on Wednesday for lunch. The food was great on both occasions but the service on Monday night with Sean was exceptional. I wish we had had him on Wednesday too. I hope you expand into Arizona. I’ll drive to eat here again but not to Colorado.

The seafood is amazing, I haven’t had oysters this fresh since leaving a coastline. The roasted octopus taco was outstanding as well as the Grilled Salmon Oscar. The dish I would not recommend to people that enjoy sushi is the Signature butter Crab roll; the only flavor comes from the butter and there is no definitive texture. Definitely a pass for the price.

I love the Cherry Creek location of Blue Island Oyster Bar but this location is terrible. I went during their "Happiest Hour" with a friend and we received pretty negligent service as well as a long hair on our sushi plate. The server acted like he'd rather be anywhere else than there and was quite inattentive for it being a pretty slow hour (3 PM on a Wednesday). I'll never return to this location. *Review edited to add a photo.

This place is a good place to go. I like that it's close to the Lone Tree Venue so I can hop in and grab a bit to eat before a show. This night however could have been an off night. It was extremely crowded and we were a little tight on time since we had a show go attend. The food was OK. I ordered the special on the Menu Soft Shell Crab and I just had it prepared battered and fried like Fish & Chip's however the batter was so salty I could hardly eat it. Pressed for time I didn't day anything. I think a light Tempura batter would have been better. We barely had enough time to eat and then had to rush our waiter with our check so our evening experience at the restaurant was just OK this time.

We made reservations for the summer oyster special once we found out about it. When we got there we got seated right away. It took a bit for our serve to come to the table and he seemed a bit confused if he was going to be serving us. We put our drink order in and we he can back we ordered an appetizer and the first batch of oyster. We get our oyster but no appetizer, we ask about it and he said he forgot to put it in and will get it right away. Once we get out appetizer we wait 30 to 40 min for our server to come back. We put in a new drink order and asked for more oyster. We get the oyster and it’s less than what we ordered. We wait other 30 min and nothing we had to flag another server to help us get a new order in. It’s getting close to closing and the place was not busy. When we get our tab it was almost 500 dollar we were getting charged full price for the oysters. When I asked about it the server said that deal was for only one type of oyster and was between the hours of 9-10 and he told us that when he came to our table. I told him he did not and on the sign outside the door doesn’t say anything about one oyster type it say premium oysters for 9 to close. Then he made an excuse that we gave or order to a different server, that when I told him he came by our table 4 times in 3 hours. He took the bill back and said he would talk to the manager, he came back with the correct bill. I hope we just had a bad server that night we enjoyed the food and drinks but the service was horrible.

Arriving a few minutes before our 5:15pm reservation, we were met in a brightly lit pretty full restaurant. A few others came in, and another couple was seated before us. There were two ladies at the check-in, the younger seemed happy (at least smiling) while the other seemed like she would rather be anywhere else. A few minutes after our reservation, we were taken to the corner with a very small table, passing a larger 2 top on the way. They brought us water which I gave my glass back because we would be hard pressed for real estate. I guess the saving grace was our server, Lee, and the special Valentine's Day dinner. We started with roasted oysters, Lobster Bisque (with Tarragon Crème Fraiche), Seared Scallop & Shrimp (with Whipped Potato, Caviar, Champagne Sauce), Lobster Risotto (with Fresh Shucked Lobster Meat, Crimini Mushroom, Butternut Squash, Citrus Beurre Blanc), Braised Short Rib with Lobster Mac & Cheese, Crème Brûlée as dessert with Clos Du Val. While we were leaving, we saw two different couples seated at a 4 top. I guess once you start noticing a few things, your perception changes about the restaurant. I like to play by the restaurant's rules - make reservations, etc but it seemed that that did not matter. While the service from Lee was stellar, the service at the beginning was lacking.

Make sure you make reservations when you go. I love their cherry creek location and decided to head over to the lone tree location since it's closer. We went around 345 without reservations and was told they're booked till 830 and couldn't seat us when half the restaurant was empty. Was a little disappointed for my first experience. Make sure to make reservations. Updated review: I recently visited during their restaurant week for my birthday. It's a location I've been wanting to visit for some time since I've been to their Cherry Creek location. I love how modern the interior is. It's definitely bigger than it looks from the outside. Their seating ranges from the bar to high tops to regular seating. I would highly recommend making reservations. I remember walking in once for happy hour and wasn't able to get in since we didn't have one. We were seated within five minutes and the service was amazing. We loved the variety of choices to chose from. I'm a huge oyster lover and was impressed how they have their own oyster farm that they source from. They are fresh, delicious and left there wanting more. Everything we ordered from appetizer to desert was perfection. Even with a busy evening, we were able to leave there without waiting too long for our food. If you're a oyster lover like me, I highly recommend checking this place out.

Anniversary #49 at Blue Island. Everything was great and our server was wonderful. Fresh New York oysters, blood orange margaritas, excellent chowder and the best key lime pie in years. Will be going back...soon.

Yelp
This review is for Happy Hour only, Mon-Sat 2-6pm. $12 HH 1/2 Lb. Curry Steamed Mussels were the best value. $12 HH Smoked Trout Roe & Fresh Jalapeño Dip - portion was too small despite the pile of chips that were good. $10 HH Octopus Taco - the octopus was good, but the rest of the taco sucked. taco wrap was cold, potatoes were soggy, it wasn't a taco. $9 HH Deviled Eggs - 3 pcs, good but not worth $3 ea esp at HH pricing. Raw bar (shucker's choice oyster and little neck clam) NOT fresh, glad I only tried one of ea. Half of their HH cocktails are pre-batched and way too sweet. Not the place to visit for legit cocktails, Seasons 52 is better value and quality.

Yelp
Blue Island Oyster Bar in Cherry Creek has been our long "go-to" happy hour. Great apps, specialty cocktails, beer, wine and more. But, as you know, CC North is a pain in the $@%^& to park. So off to the burbs. We hit Blue Island at peak HH, but the hostess Sharon was nice enough to sqeeeeze us in and found a table. Well that was good and bad. Since they were so busy, the waitstaff was pretty thin. But once he got to us, he was super nice and helpful. Our biggest mistake was not going with our usuals... You seriously cannot go wrong with raw oysters and their amazing clam chowder! My all time favorite app is the smoked trout dip, love love love this. Thought we would branch out this time and tried the roasted oysters. Sorry, please do not put parm on oysters.... breadcrumbs yes, cheese no. Ordered the thai calamari which was fine and the Fishing with Dynamite Roll. I love sushi of any kinda, but this roll was not my thing. All in all Blue Island has a great happy hour, nice atmosphere and great service.... my advise, go simple..... it's called an oyster bar for a reason!

Yelp
I wish I would've gotten pictures! The location is beautiful and they have outdoor seating! The servers were attentive, polite and very helpful when we were asking about wine pairing. The hot food was hot, the cold was kept cold and it was all delicious. We had a dozen oysters, the crab/spinach dip, Spanish octopus and clam linguine. I will absolutely go back. It was also happy hour, so there was a bit of a discound!

Yelp
Food was really fresh and good. Oysters were fresh and the lobster roll was fantastic. Beautiful bar and helpful staff. I will be back when visiting Denver.

Yelp
HOT DAMN! Blue Island Oyster Bar has been on my radar since they opened in the burbs last year. To be honest, I've had a hard time finding someone to indulge with (as many of my friends and family aren't the biggest seafood lovers) - SO when a friend of mine came into town and insisted on trying a new spot with me, I knew just the place! SPACE: Located on a corner in the Lone Tree Town Center, the modern building is large in size, features one hell of a patio, bright modern coastal decor and an array of seating options. It definitely brings an upscale vibe yet is totally welcoming to all! SERVICE: I had made reservations online for happy hour (not totally necessary but I also went on a Tuesday) and the sweet hostess sat us at a cozy table on the opposite side of the bar - which was perfect for the two of us. She happily gave us menus before our server came to greet us, give us a rundown of the menu and proceeded to recommend various popular items. She was so friendly, checked back with us frequently, made sure we got in another cocktail on happy hour pricing and made us feel right at home. We stayed at the table for quite a while, without pressure to turn it over. The manager even came over to say hello, reshared the content I had posted on my Instagram story and invited us back again. A very nice gesture and 10/10! SIPS: With a variety of cocktails, beer, wine and champagne offered, I opted for a dirty martini while my friend chose to sip on fresh bubbly. Drinks were STRONG, delicious and garnished nicely - which made for the perfect toast. SUSTENANCE: This is where this spot truly shines. Everything, and I mean everything, on the happy hour menu and regular menu sounded divine. After what felt like an impossible decision, we opted to share a bunch of items on the happy hour menu - they are as follows: ++ Deviled Eggs w/ Smoked Trout Roe and Fresh Jalapeño ++ Crispy Trio w/Truffle Salmon, Tuna Tartare, Smoked Trout "Philly", Crispy Rice Blocks ++ Burger Slider w/ Bacon-Beef Blend, Onion Jam ++ Knuckle Sandwich aka Mini Lobster Roll Slider ++ 1 Dozen Oysters on the Half Shell Everything came out in record time, was gorgeous in presentation, and tasted deliciously fresh! A true taste of the coast - right in the heart of Lone Tree! The only thing that we didn't love were the deviled eggs - as they had an off taste we couldn't pin point but seemed to be in the mixture on top. Either way, I was blown away by everything and could have easily slurped down more oysters and just about anything on the menu! SPECIALS: The happiest of hours occur Monday-Saturday 2-6 PM and a Sunday Funday from Open-6 PM! What a deal! :) It's a blessing and a curse that this spot is so close to home, because now the obsession is real. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I have been eyeing this place for a while to take my boyfriend too since I'm not a fan of fish, and ended up going for a work event! My coworkers raved about the sushi they all got! Apparently they have great happy hour deals everyday, even on Saturday and Sunday! I tried the white cheddar burger (with no bun) since I am not one for fish, and I ate the whole thing. The meat eat cooked perfectly and was juicy, the fries were crispy, they had great flavor! I will be taking my boyfriend here for sure!

Yelp
Blue Island has become my family's go-to for so many occasions -- birthdays, date nights, holidays, celebratory lunches... You name it! What first drew me in were the oysters but I've come back time and time again for the general vibe that's distinct from other restaurants in the area. It's classy but not pretentious... I've brought by 2 toddlers here for meals without a problem. The patio is also a highlight on warm days! Everything I've tried is great! The oysters, of course, but also the lobster rolls, shrimp cocktail, fish tacos and more. My kids love the pasta and french fries. The often have specials on things like the oysters and lobster rolls depending on what day you come. The drink menu is also on point! Their Bloody Mary comes with an oyster (epic), and they have a wide variety of beer, wine and mocktails. Finally, I have no complaints about the service! I always leave wanting to come back again soon. We always make a reservation on OpenTable beforehand just to be safe. If you're a seafood lover, definitely don't miss Blue Island. I'm hoping this place sticks around forever and ever.

Yelp
Went for a second time and had a really disappointing experience. We got 18 oysters, which were not cleaned and had pieces of shell in them but overall good, but pricey. We didn't get our drinks until way after we finished the oysters and we ordered them at the same time. They kindly took our two non alcoholic drinks (one being a soda) off our bill but I'm not sure if they completely forgot them or what happened there. They did run out of the NA Beer but they didn't bring my one drink out. Next we got the movie night roll, which was good but definitely not something to rave about. I ordered the fish and chips, which had zero flavor. Absolutely none - I couldn't believe how bland and flavorless it was and would not recommend. My fiancé got the Connecticut lobster roll, which was ice cold. Overall I was really disappointed because the Denver location is one of our favorite spots. If we're going to be paying $200 for a meal, I would have hoped it would be a lot better than this was.

Yelp
Blue Island is probably one of my favorite restaurants in the Lone Tree/Parker area. I've come here quite a bit for their great happy hour and never been disappointed. This time around I got the usual Thai calamari and roasted oysters as well as some new things like the poke martini and curry mussels. Everything was delicious as expected. The calamari and roasted oysters were perfect as usual. The poke was great and fresh and the mussels were cooked perfectly and the broth was outstanding! My husband got a Connecticut lobster roll and clam chowder to go, also fantastic! If you are looking at a place to try, this is it!

Yelp
A friend suggested we meet for happy hour because I had never had oysters before. I didn't get more photos because we were chatting but we had several oysters that tasted fresh and quite delicious. Also had the crispy trio, the peel and eat shrimp (which had lots of old bay) and the deviled eggs. All the appetizers/small bites were very seasoned and well put together. Will definitely be back for more oysters.

Yelp
We were lucky enough to get a reservation during their2nd anniversary special. Our waitress, Hannah, was super. She provided excellent service and offered timely suggestions when we were ordering. She also very clearly explained how they worked the specials. We started with an order of the hot crab dip. Quite yummy. For mains, 2 of us ordered the scallops and they were outstanding. 4 large scallops served over butternut squash risotto. The lobster roll (can be served either style) reportedly was very good. My husband was a little disappointed in his fish and chips because they didn't really season the fish before breading it. Personally I thought the fish was good but it didn't compare to my scallops. The chips were delicious though. The side order of roasted beets was quite large. They do offer a couple of kid meals too. Sliders were served with fries and a cute bowl of fruit. The house salad was a blend of lettuce and cabbage so I was disappointed bc I don't eat cabbage. We decided to go ahead and order dessert too: blood orange olive oil cake, key lime pie and butterscotch toffee pudding thing that was the bomb! The restaurant is rather loud so not a good place for those sensitive to that if you are wanting to dine a peak dinner hour.

Yelp
Nice place, very charming inside. Our server was super friendly and attentive. They have a great oyster selection, super fresh and delicious. Wasn't much impressed with drinks. Elderflower basil cocktail which is one of their most popular drinks was too sweet and just too straightforward for my taste. My husband got Blue Island Bloody which looked really cool, but lacked tomato flavor and was too spicy. I really enjoyed their Old fashioned though, next time that's the only drink I'm getting. Signature Butter 'Crab' Roll was ok, but I was expecting a real crab meat for the price, not the imitation. I wish they would have made them smaller, but with a real crab. Mussels were good, I loved curry sauce. Olive oil cake with berries sounded interesting but ended up nothing to be too excited about. I'll definitely be back for oysters, Old fashioned and nice atmosphere!!

Anne H.

Yelp
Oysters were good. Ordered halibut blackened but was just grilled. Halibut definitely not worth the price, dry and very underwhelming. Ordered a glass of wine but never received. Would never go again. I had one drink my partner had two we had some oysters. halibut and lobster roll. Bill was $200. Colossal waste of money!

Macy R.

Yelp
Great service by Maddie! She was very knowledgeable and was able to help us decide what to order. So sweet and will be coming back and requesting her as our server!

Yelp
The ambience here is actually very nice. I would not recommend because the food is bland and flavorless and overpriced. I would rather go to water Grill, or even a chain seafood place like Pappadeaux's.
google avatar

Joyce E.

Yelp
We've been a few times and the food is usually very good. I'm not an oyster or caviar person but if you are, this is your place. They have a great wine selection, any fish we ordered has been well-prepared and the apps and varying happy hour choices are delicious and fun to try. There are some seasonal variations which is great also. Service is really good.

Yelp
Great oyster's well run restaurant enjoyed the clam chowder and the main course will definitely be back

Yelp
I know it's funny to go to a seafood restaurant and order ribs, but that's what I did. They were fantastic. The shoestring fries that came with them were good, and the Brussels sprouts that I ordered separately were fabulous. The atmosphere is nice, and the service was great. Highly recommend!

Man, oh man, where do i start! It is yummy, my hubby, and I finally came here to try the Sunday Funday Happy Hour from 11 to 6 pm....it was delicious . Coming back real soon.

Yelp
We came to blue island for their Monday $1 oysters, which you cannot find a better deal on in the denver metro area. They have their own oyster farm partners so you'll see their oyster names often, they switch out the Monday oysters regularly so it gives you an option to try. We've tried this location a few times on Mondays and I can say that the shucking of oysters here isn't always on. I've often got shell in the oyster or had to make sure I fully shucked myself to properly eat the oyster. Again for $1, it's a great deal but just know it's not the best shucking experience. This time we tried additional items on the menu to see what other flavors they had because we found the oyster for this Monday didn't have a lot of flavor. We ordered the manilla clams pasta and the grilled Spanish octopus. My partner found that the pasta was very tasty and the sauce had a lot of flavor brought out from the clams. The downside was that there were many clams that didn't open. Regarding the octopus I found that it was cooked well and appropriately tender. I thought there was a bit too much chorizo on the octopus itself (which doesn't need a competing flavor or it gets overpowered) but having the chorizo on the potatoes really brought them out nicely. Im sure we will be back again for $1 oysters but it won't be an immediate return for us. Service was attentive and we love the decor of the location, one downside on a really cold night are the windows, they do leech cold in to the restaurant (though I know they are a great asset in the summer to open up for fresh air).

Yelp
I have hesitated to write a review for this place because I am selfish. I don't want to share this goodness. But....when they knock it out of the park every visit I have had, which is a little too often, I have to gush about them. Service is impeccable. Attentive, friendly and usually some of the best people in the hospitality arena got recruited here. Never too packed but always full of good energy and happy faces, I love coming here just for the vibe. Plenty of parking at the Commons and there's a large patio area when it is warmer but note, this is not a dog friendly patio. Happy hour is always fun but also love the intimate setting for dinner. Can't come and not have their local oysters. We tend to order at least two dozen to devour consisting of the Blue Island No9, Blue Pearls, Blackberry and Kusshi oysters. We also get the roasted oysters and deviled eggs for my nonadventurous friends. I was really impressed with the grilled octopus with the chorizo and mashed potatos. Wow, that was the best unexpected surprise! The brussel sprouts are really good as are the lobster rolls, knuckle sandwich and fish tacos. The chilean sea bass was yummy but felt the noodles added too much saltiness to the dish. So far, my favorite is the key lime pie because it definitely transports me beach side. Hands down, the best vodka martini here and I am also a fan of the Sancerre wine. This review is based on a true story, I order this much and often. Life is too short to not eat everything I want. So should you!
google avatar

Magda C.

Yelp
It took a long time to get the food, this place is very busy. I enjoyed the octopus appetizer with potatoes, it was cooked well. From the entre we chose 'everything tuna' cooked rare. Quite good.

Yelp
Best sea food in Lone Tree. Fresh fresh fresh. Great Atmosphere. If you are looking for good sea food restaurant and bar this place is it!

Yelp
This is a busy place and now we know why. First, service was a little slow but it was Friday night and the place was jumping with happy people. Our server, did an excellent job of staying on top of our orders, timing them appropriately so the starter, 2nd course and main did not arrive at the same time. A lost art at many restaurants but Diego is the man. I usually don't talk this much about servers but I recommend Diego as highly as the food. The food was great. Blue Island has a great selection of oysters. We tried the Naked Cowboy and Backberry oysters. Fresh and succulent. Best oysters that we have had in a long time. We chased them with the clam chowder, tasty, just the right thickness, excellent. For the entree we had the salmon Oscar and fish and chips. Again, both were excellent. The salmon was topped with a crab cake and bernaise. The fish and chips were excellent, breaded with cracker crumbs. Fish and chips are often average or not so good. These were excellent with larger portions than I expected or needed. If you like a quiet meal, oyster bars are usually not for you. A good oyster bar is like a train station that you don't want to leave and can't wait to get back to. That is the Blue Island ambiance. We loved it.

Yelp
This place is one of our favorites. The cocktails are all very good and the service is always amazing. We usually build our own seafood tower with a bunch of different types of seafood and it's delicious! Great place for a date night! The only downside is you definitely require a reservation during busy times and that it is fairly pricey.

Yelp
Cannot miss the special $0.99 raw oysters on Monday. They were fresh, juicy and delicious indeed. The price was certainly a big plus.

Yelp
I came here tonight for some dinner with my sister. We were seated quickly for a sunday night dinner and on father's day. We opted to sit outside because the weather was nice and the ambience wasn't too bad, although the view could've been better. My sister really liked the oysters and I thought everything was pretty good. Do I think it was worth the price? No. The thing I liked most was probably the salad that came with the taco platter. Our service was very nice though with an attentive server.

Yelp
Was it super awesome? no. Was it a disappointment? no Was the food blah? no. Our waiter was attentive, happy hour menu and drinks were awesome. The lobster special was meh. This place was packed with people ready to burn the dough. Lots of energy and good vibes throughout the restaurant. Pricing wise, it is way up there so lot of people are taking advantage of the HH and dinking early. I will be back to try something else off the HH menu and enjoy the nice patio!

Yelp
Food was awesome great seafood in particular the oysters and ability to customize! The crab roll is off the charts! Only complaint of anything wa service was a bit slow but when we went it was super busy. All said I would highly recommend! Just be prepared for it to be really busy. Forgot cocktails were awesome and very unique!

Yelp
I'd admit that I am a calorie counter. If I know I am going to have a big dinner, I would skip lunch. And in today's case, that's what I did. I arrived at Blue Island Oyster hungry and ready to eat. It was restaurant week and it's our first time there. The place was already pretty packed at 4pm! Happy hours are in full swing. They have great HH menu! We ordered 10 raw oysters, clam chowder, brussel sprouts, devil's eggs. Followed by fish and chips and surf and turf which was on the restaurant week menu. I usually like oysters but at this place, I LOVE oysters. This place makes you understand why people love oysters. They were fresh, juicy and they were all different! I didn't think I would be able to taste the differences, but I can sure pick a favorite! I seriously could have eaten double the oysters all by myself. They gave you sauce but try it without, seriously. Excellent Excellent quality. The clam chowder was top notch. I didn't care for the hush puppy that they put on top but the kid liked it. So I gave it to her to devour. Brussel sprouts had this umami flavor and not bland or over cooked. Our steaks were tender and cooked to perfection. The potatoes that came with the steak were crispy, yet soft on the inside. Not dry at all. Fish and chips was OK, not worth the $27, but it was high quality. Desserts were key lime pie and orange olive oil cake? Pie was good but I usually like a little more tart and key lime flavor. Olive oil cake was interesting but I wouldn't order it again. The drinks were great. I had blood orange margarita. I am a bit of a light weight and usually my limit IS one drink anywhere. This one drink had a good punch to it and I was relaxed and tipsy with just one. All and all, you know you had a great meal when you don't even care how many calories you had just consumed. Some things are just worth getting fat for. And this meal was it. Great experience, great vibe, excellent food and services. It wasn't cheap, nope, $210 for 4 people. But hey, make it a special occasion. In our case, we celebrated surviving the week (we came on a Friday) Since it wasn't completely flawless, I would give it a 4.5 star but seeing that rating is currently 3.9???? Seriously??? I gave it a 5 star to help bring it up to where I hope it should be. We'll be back for their happy hours for sure. Might be my new favorite seafood place, other than sushi. It was a Restaurant Week success story!!!

Yelp
Vibes/Ambiance: 10/10 Main courses: 7/10 (Fish n chips, 1/2 peel and eat shrimp) Raw Oysters: 10/10 Drinks: 9/10 Service: 10/10 Located in a shopping center near other restaurants and shops parking is ample. Food was okay, fish tasted super fresh and fries were the strong kind. I found the peel n eat shrimp too over seasoned/ salted hard to enjoy with the accompaniments (horseradish mustard and cocktail sauce). The oysters however were amazing! Super fresh and they had a great selection. May return for the happy hour but will definitely be back for some oysters! Oh and drinks were tasty!

Yelp
If you're looking for a taste of the seaside in Douglas County, look no further than Blue Island Oyster Bar and Seafood. This place has it all! The happy hour specials are fantastic - I especially recommend the oysters and lobster roll. You won't find a better deal on fresh, delicious seafood anywhere else. But it's not just the food that makes Blue Island stand out. The outdoor patio is a great place to enjoy a drink and soak up the sun while taking in the beautiful views. And speaking of drinks, the bartenders here know how to mix a mean cocktail! If you're looking for a family-friendly option, the clam chowder is a must-try. It's been a family favorite for years and it never disappoints. One thing to note: reservations are definitely recommended. This place gets busy, especially on weekends, so it's best to plan ahead. But trust me, it's worth it. Blue Island Oyster Bar and Seafood is a gem in Parker and I can't recommend it enough.

Yelp
It was amazing! Food presentation was beautiful! Service was on point. We sat at the bar and we got there at 8:30. We didn't realize they closed at 9. We never felt rushed or feeling the bartenders were annoyed we got there late. I've been in the industry for 30 years and understand how it is when people come in late. We will be regulars. Thank you! Merry Christmas

Yelp
As a Texas transplant I was THRILLED to have an oyster bar nearby. Little did I know, these aren't gulf oysters requiring crackers and Tabasco. These oysters are straight magic. Offering a variety that are flown in and shucked in house, you will have TASTING NOTES. We have become oyster people. (Specifically PEI oyster people) the staff is knowledgeable, the oyster menu is printed daily with seasonal offerings, the wine list is well cultivated and varied (without being exhaustive) great happy hour deals as well as fun promos with caviar and bubbles on Wednesdays. The ricotta gnocchi is to die for and the perfect size to share when you need some carbs to go with your oodles of oysters. Sushi dishes are tasty (but not for the die hard sushi fan, fresh but not what you're likely after) the tacos are epic (but the ahi combo was odd, dynamite shrimp was the tits!) the clam chowder will warm your bones on a December Colorado afternoon, we have tried ALMOST everything on the menu, each offering is unique and well executed even if they weren't all my jam. Manila clam pasta is another favorite, as well as the tropical poke martini... UGH. Just go already. Let the server tell you what's good and enjoy. It's pricey but you absolutely get what you pay for, we find ourselves there at least twice a month and aren't exactly rolling in cash, it's worth the hard ship we bring all of our friends here when they visit, any they are always blown away, we love it. Fav oysters: Pink moon Glacier bay Raspberry point **** my FAV Apps: Ricotta gnocchi Tropical poke martini The Caesar salad is Mains: Manila clam pasta (available dinner only) Blackened scallops (can be touch and go, scallops are temperamental, but when it's right ITS RIGHT) Clam chowder, you can get this to go and I often do when we have snow coming. I recommend a reservation after 5:30 on weekdays and after 4 on weekends, this place is POPPIN. Don't forget to sign up for the rewards program, points add up quick and you'll get coupons periodically and on your birthday

Yelp
I want this to be a 5-star review. I really do. We love Blue Island in Denver, so we are still excited for this location to be open in the burbs. It's big inside, awesome ambiance, huge outdoor patio, and the food is what you'd expect from Blue Island (oysters are delish!). That being said, our server was pretty much non-existent when we went. We did get our food, and someone else refilled our water one time when it was obvious that we were on our own after the food arrived. It was up there with some of the biggest disappearing acts we've ever had in restaurant history, but the restaurant itself is still an awesome addition to the burbs. We'll be here often, and one person doesn't make a restaurant a bad place to be.

Yelp
I ate at the blue oyster bar, and the outside eating area was lovely, on April 14, 2024, and I had Ryan M as a server. I ordered the signature lobster roll for $36.50, because he told me it was lobster. I took some of it home, because I got full and I had also ordered the clam chowder bowl. When I had the leftovers the next day, I realize that the pieces I was eating was not lobster but crab I will not eat at this restaurant again, when you substitute crab for lobster you are not an upright business.

Yelp
Great selection of oysters and I love the ambiance of the place! The decor is very fun and inviting! Their happy hour for oysters is so worth it! It's impressive getting oysters in Colorado and I'm lucky enough to have found a great place for them! The service is killer too!

Yelp
We went for restaurants week little did we know they were not apart of it even though their other location is. The pasta I had was too salty, the cod my husband had was not salty enough. We also I had clam chowder, omg I think is the best I ever had ! The raw oyster was extremely fresh! The drinks are were yummy and unique. And the brownie for my dessert was amazing! Service was not made either! I will come back maybe for one of their week day specials!

Yelp
The most delicious dining experience I have had in a very long time! We forgot pictures but recommend going during their happy hour and tasting lots of items. Brussel sprouts- crispy and flavorful, Thai calamari was perfectly breaded in a delicious sauce with mild heat, salmon mango roll was fresh and so flavorful, mussels soaked in an amazing curry, and the best meal ever was the scallops on risotto. This restaurant is amazing!!

Yelp
Great location, restaurant is very comfortable. Not an Oyster fan, but there are a few other items that might peak your interest. Most importantly $$$$

Yelp
I really like Blue Oyster as the food is so fresh and the staff are always ever so welcoming and pleasant. However I always ask for my crab cakes to be crispy and they never are cooked long enough. Plus we went in here for dinner and all the people we knew from before that worked there are gone which means the staff aren't taken care of properly. It's too bad because I really got to know the hostesses. I do like how it's never really crowded in the restaurant so you get to kinda sit where you like. The servers that we've had were all very friendly it's just too bad that they all left.

Yelp
We recently gave this restaurant a try. The dishes were very fresh, portion size was TINY on the Ahi Tuna "Everything Spice" Crusted Entree for $33. 4 small pieces of Tuna and a side mixed greens salad for $33?? The No 1 Seared Ahi Tuna Mango Salad was a much better serving size for $25. We asked our female server about the menu, her response was I can't help much as I don't eat seafood??? The serving staff seemed wildly over worked (not enough people) but were all pleasant.

Yelp
First of all, the food is really pretty good. However like a lot of places, I think the restaurant is having issues finding good staff. We went on a weekend for lunch. It was after the typical lunch rush time - and while there were people there, it wasn't packed. We ordered our drinks. Then a few minutes later we ordered our food. We had an assortment of soup, salad, tacos, sandwiches, etc. Typically, food delivery would be something like this: drinks, followed by soup and salad, followed by everything else. Nope - not here. First thing we got after waters were glasses for the drinks we ordered. Then, a bit later - all of our food came. All at once. And then, our drinks to go in the glasses that were delivered some time earlier. I don't think any was delivered by our server, other than the drinks that came after everything else. Just a weird cadence of serving. Then our server seemed to vanish. We wanted to order another drink and finally got the chance to do so. And got the check. At the end of it all, we waited for someone to pick up the check. And waited. And waited. Eventually my husband grabbed the check and took it to the hostess station hoping someone could ring us up. Hostess didn't know what to do, so she gave the card & check to a server who walked around with it for a bit - he was still serving tables, and then he brought it back to the hostess. Mind you we've been waiting to pay for probably 15+ minutes or so. Eventually someone else - I believe a manger - stepped in, tracked down our server - and we were able to pay and leave. Note: ours was not the only table that was experiencing issues. I observed another table had asked for a to go container. 5 or so minutes later someone else came out with a container but the lid didn't fit. So they waited another 5+ minutes for someone else to bring a lid that fit. And then they too waited for their credit card to be charged. We will go back - the food was good. But it seems the restaurant staff may need some training. And it's entirely possible they were having an 'off' day.

Yelp
I'm not sure how we have lived here so long and just tried this place. Food was great! We had clam chowder, calamari, oysters, beats, fish and chips, fried clams, and scallop pasta. All delicious. Drinks were excellent as well. Great atmosphere but a little loud if your seeking quiet this might not be the choice. Service was excellent. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
A couple months ago, we got a $20 off coupon in the mail and last week finally had a chance to use it for my husband's birthday dinner. Our server was very friendly and made sure that we got ALL the information about the menu and oyster choices. We ordered a selection of oysters as a starter and enjoyed them very much. My husband ordered the clam strips, I had the crispy fish sandwich, and we split the truffle gnocchi. The gnocchi was outstanding, and I will definitely be back just for this dish. The atmosphere is bright and open. I like restaurants with open view kitchens. Next time I will ask for a seat outside as the only things that I would have changed about our visit was that it was louder inside than I prefer, the wooden bench seating was not comfortable for me, and our table backed right up to the server station where the servers had to talk loud over the rest of the inside noise.

Yelp
Great drinks, great service and awesome views!!! The Jesse 's girl is my fave drink. Vodka martini with a sprig of mint, not too tart or too sweet the perfect blend of tang. Also for appetizers you have got to try the potato dumpling with cheese it's called ricotta gnocchi it is super tasty, crispy and creamy AF. The place is small but quaint. Their outside patio is quite large and breezy so it is t too hot. This place is definitely a must try!
