Relatively easy. Some incline. Even driving up and seeing the lake view is worth it. It was windy and chilly at first but as you walk (and if the sun is out) you warm up. I was fine in a long sleeve shirt and leggings. We also spotted a family of moose on our drive to the parking lot.

I would give the location/lake 5 stars but have to give it 4 because of the ride up. Some of the largest potholes I have seen in my entire life (5 feet wide and deep), risking extreme damage to your vehicle. You can only make it up with a large 4WD/AWD vehicle. It would be great if the potholes would be filled so that everyone can enjoy this beautiful place. We did not see any mountain goats which was disappointing but the views were incredible. The road to the upper lake was closed so if you wanted to go up there you would have to park at the lower and walk up.

Absolutely fantastic views and a great easy hike from the lower lake to the waterfall. But as of August 13, be careful because there is a section in the road that is not filled in and you cannot pass without something that’s lifted so there’s around a half mile , around 400 feet elevation hike up the road even to the lower lake..

Nice hike and beautiful scenery. It is only around 1 mile to the very top and the elevation isn't too bad. We visited on a weekday and it was not crowded at all.

Love this trail! My autumn foliage 🍂 bucket list ✔️
It’s so stunning and the hike all the way to the end was worth it. Seen 🫎 and 🦌 and many beautiful birds. So happy for the memories captured there 💗

Our favorite hike of our trip! We had kids ranging from 15-2 and they all loved it! They loved playing in the snow (still warm outside!) and climbing the rocks. I wanted to see a mountain goat and that is the first thing we saw when we parked!

Beautiful views. Great location to begin a hike. This Trailhead serves the West ridge route of Mt. Quandary. Beautiful spot for photos.

The road to the trailhead parking lot is a bit rough but nothing most cars can’t handle. The upper lake hike is up a wide service road with very little snow. Stunning views!! We saw marmots, chipmunks, and even mountain goats in the parking lot! Great walk for small kids.
