Blue Lug Hatagaya

Second time visiting the Blue Lug store, but this time I went to their first shop which is located in Hatagaya. This shop has everything just like the one in Yoyogi. From a variety of different frames to the smallest parts of the bike, they have it. The staff in this store are super kind and they will accommodate to your needs. They even let me order a part that wasn’t stock in this store, but they have it in their other locations. I love how the people who works here will interact with you and have conversations about bicycles. They even let us hangout for a bit while waiting for my order. Thank you very much Hatagaya team for the hospitality and taking your time to have a conversation with us. We really do appreciate it!! More power to the Blue Lug shop.

My SON deluxe had a broken plug. As SON uses a non-standard plug size it was hard to find a shop to get it repaired. Blue Lug did it in a day at excellent quality and reasonable cost. Staff was well above what you find at other, „normal“ bicycle shops. Would recommend Blue Lug to any touring cyclist.

Needed a small part in a particular size and colour from Velo Orange. The two UK stores were out of the size and colour I needed but Blue Lug had them. Pricing was seemingly a direct USD dollar conversion, which brought the price down on the part compared to the UK mark up, and although shipping was $19, the shipping from the UK stores isn't exactly cheap either (but excellent stores nonetheless), so overall it didn't cost me much more. My order arrived in three working days, and included some awesome stickers :) Will definitely look to these guys when ordering online now.

Awesome bike shop that probably has anything and everything that you need. If youre worried about the language barrier, dont be. Ask for a gentleman named Hiro, he can help you out.

I visit bike shops all over the world. Blue Lug is my favorite. It’s not the place to go for a discount, generic bike or tailored to MAMLs on carbon bikes, and they don’t sell e-bikes, but if you want a complete bike, parts or service for a nice commuter and/or touring bike, this is the place. All the staff I’ve interacted with at their three locations in Tokyo have been very nice & helpful. They all seem to just love bikes & cycling culture. They’ve done great servicing work when I needed it - all on bikes I bought elsewhere because I’m too tall to fit well on the most mass production bikes (whereas some shops shy away from building or servicing bikes they didn’t sell).

This is not your average bike shop, this is where you go when you want a trick city bike! I heard about Bluelug from a friend, so when I was in Japan I dropped by the shop to check it out. The amount of gear they had out was impressive and it was amazing that you could pick up each item and inspect it. Everywhere else, it would just be locked behind glass. The staff is really nice and live the culture. Outside you will find their bikes all lined up and inside you'll find their builds for sale. These are not cheap bikes or for the person who just wants a new bike, we're talking thousands of USD for a custom built street Fixie that stands out. If you already have your bike, then this place will likely have the parts you want to change it up. They are also the soul importer of some unique brands from the US. Bluelug is definitely a long trip to the other side of Tokyo for most people, but its worth a trip if you are Jitensha otaku.
