Blue Magpie Lodge, Kudawa, Weddagala

Simply great, rooms were very comfortable with great bathrooms and beds. The employees were ready for our every need and were very nice. The location is prefect with an easy accessible river to cool off and amazing possibilities for hikes. Would recommend everyone on vacation in Sri Lanka!

Isolated location in beautiful surrounds. Such a shame…. Rooms were Dirty, smelly, cock roaches, black moukd, extremely poor internet, didn’t feel safe. Average meals which we didn’t eat. Beer was cold would be our only positive! Do not recommend at all!!

The food served was excellent - hit all the right notes of traditional Sri Lankan cuisine. Equipped with hot water and air conditioning, rooms are comfortable and provide a restful experience. Proximity to the Kudawa entrance to the Sinharaja Forest Reserve makes it possible to even walk to the entrance dispensing with the need to look for transport

Very kind and helpfull staff. Tastefull dinner made to our preference (no spicy 😀). Had a free upgrade of our room. Great views and a nice patio to sit outside. Stayed for 2 nights. Very close to Sinharaja.

This lodge is located in the heart of the rain forest and ideal for a birding trip. Our guide had known the people here and in the area for many years but the other guests were treated with the same care that we were. The view from our balcony into the forest canopy gave us some amazing views.|Walking along the road yielded views of birds that were unrivaled.|Our stay here was also a welcome disconnect from US news and social media. The internet connection was iffy at best.|The food was delicious and served with care.

I wholeheartedly give Blue Magpie Lodge a five-star review due to its exceptional service and hospitality. During my recent stay, I encountered a wonderful experience perfectly suited for nature lovers. The lodge is nestled amid lush greenery and offers breathtaking views of the Sinharaja Forest. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring my stay was both comfortable and memorable. Upon check-in, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Piyal, the manager, who greeted us with a warm smile. The very next day was my wife's birthday, and I humbly requested Mr. Piyal to help surprise her with a birthday cake. He went above and beyond, sending an employee to the nearest city to retrieve a beautiful cake. We celebrated my wife’s birthday in style, creating cherished memories. We spent three nights at the lodge and felt like family throughout our stay. This experience is unforgettable, and I can’t wait to return!

This Hotel is a disappointment, total disappointment, if you are a tour agent please don't keep this even as an option. Their rates are total unfair, and you don't have the right to ask why is that. There is a Reservation Lady Called Niluka, She s the real Headache here , who even don't know how to deal with agents nor their clients, Such an inflexible women with dumb attitude or ego whatever it is. 0% customer service. She's bad for the business. somehow I wish this will be our last with you.
