Yelp
I stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel for a business week, and ate at the Blue Matisse pretty much every night. The Nau Lounge is the bar that connects to this restaurant, and they share a menu.
I'm pretty impressed with the food selection that they have, considering that this is a hotel restaurant. I think everyone has the impression that hotel restaurants are just bland or overpriced, or both. I ate dinner here for four nights, and I tried four different dishes, all really good.
I tried the fish tacos, the grouper entree, oxtails on tray, and the entree. Yes, all are pretty heavy on the sauces and the flavor, but the ingredients are fresh and you can tell that they are all carefully picked to complement flavors on the dish. The oxtails were falling off the bone and braised to perfection.
I also had the executive buffet lunch here on Friday, and for $22, I think it's worth it. They have fresh seafood, salad, hot food, and dessert that can satisfy those who are looking for a nicer place to have a business lunch without having to settle for average food.
Almost every evening, they have some sort of happy hour or drink/food specials that even locals should should take advantage of.
The staff is great, not overbearing and can recommend dishes that suit your mood/craving.
15% service charge is included in your bill, which I find to be common in Miami.
