I've been eager to go to this vegetarian / vegan cafe for a while but have always missed its opening times. Unfortunately we were really disappointed. I'm not sure if we had come at the wrong time of day but the 'soup of the day' (carrot and coriander) wasn't great with the dominant flavour being coriander, it also arrived tepid in temperature so I had to send it back as did the lady sat next to us. My wife ordered the Mexican rice bowl but unfortunately they had ran out of veg so it was mainly a bowl of rice, black beans and some salsa. Considering the veg was missing there was no sign of increasing the other componants of the meal and I don't think a discount was applied for the lack of food (I forgot to ask or check this). The decor is lacking in imagination and very much needs a cash injection. All that said, the staff were very lovely and apologetic. We were hoping to be regular supporters of an independent business but I wouldn't return unless there was a revamp.

Staff were friendly but not welcoming. The food was ok but simple and lukewarm which is to be expected as they simply microwave it right in front of you, so at least they are honest about it. A good choice of food at a good price. Well located right next to the cathedral with plenty of seating. Overall its O.K, there are better places for vegans/vegetarians in Sheffield.

It's nice finding a little place where you can order anything off the menu and not need to worry about whether it's veggie/vegan or not. I was delighted I could have dairy free whip and vegan marshmallows on my iced latte. For a few drinks, 2 mains and a side, it came to way more than we anticipated. That's okay, but add everything up as you go! My Mr loved his Hommity Pie, it was nostalgic for him. I loved the broccoli and tahini salad, and the brown rice tasted awesome (I just wish it didn't have cranberries in it). The sweet fries and dip was stunning. The atmosphere was open and bright but a little overwhelming for me. The room kind of feels like an old, small, school hall - it was echoey, and for someone with sound sensitivity I could hear every word, chew, knife clattering so, if you're Autistic with sound sensitivity, please bring earphones and earplugs. I always enjoy scanning the vast array of posters advertising all manner of artistic ventures. I'm hoping I'll find a friend through one of them! Haha.

A small cafe suiting in a corner of the street next to the cathedral. One might hardly notice it although it’s right in front of you. It’s calm from the outside with a corner door but buzzing once you step in. Could be because I visited on a weekend. - Great vegetarian options (major reason I fell in love with) - great portion size for the price - Reasonably priced - it has a good display of posters and information on local activities and events by the local community of people like guitar classes, yoga or meditation, art classes and stuff.

Prior to a classical concert at the Cathedral my friend and I chose this quirky looking cafe due to its proximity and the food looked tempting. It is a vegetarian /gf cafe and we are neither ! The food had been precooked and was left warming on a hot plate - think of mass cooked school dinners. Most of the dishes were half to a quarter full and two dishes were completely empty. The staff were efficient but not welcoming . No smiles or acknowledgement just taking orders . We both opted for a Cauliflower and rice dish with salad at £7.70 each. My friends food was served first and her dish was piled high. I asked for a smaller serving of the main course and salad. The request was ignored and I felt a little over faced. The cauliflower rice dish lacked flavour and cauliflower: it also had a hard set crunchy top- I think it had been ‘stood’ for too long but I didn’t feel as I had a choice as the other two remaining dishes I didn’t like the look of. I could only find two minute cauliflower florettes. There was a choice of four salads : Green/red cabbage/beetroot and couscous. I thought the salads were delicious, but my friend thought the couscous had a funny taste . I ate the salad but left the cauliflower dish. My friend was hungry and despite not liking the flavour or finding any cauliflower in her portion ate the lot. We both enjoyed a Sauvignon Blanc each - which complimented the salad. Total bill £23.40

This place is fully vegetarian, very reasonably priced, with some good options for vegans too. The chocolate cake tasted amazing, highly recommended! We had a great experience, 4 stars only because the place could be elevated with some cozier seating, professionally printed/designed menus, or by having a rotating selection of cakes.

I loved this place! Fantastic tasting food with vegetarian and vegan options, great location as it was near my hotel and also some local attractions. Prices were reasonable and staff were friendly. Enjoyed having dinner very much here and will definitely go again if I am in the area.

The food was really beautiful and the staff are really friendly. We had four dishes: sweet potato fries, hummus and pita bread, aubergine with tomato sauce, and falafel and salad. All dishes were fantastic. I normally don’t give reviews but had to with this place. Vegan/veggie friendly.

Yelp
Now that the Olive Garden Café is no more, the Blue Moon Café remains the only other all-vegetarian choice in Sheffield city centre I know of. But that's not a bad thing because they offer excellent food, very generous portions, and delightful desserts. The only drawback with this lovely place is that it doesn't offer enough seating to accommodate all the people who want to eat there during lunch hours. You might want to check out their website (http://bluemooncafe.thebigmenu.co.uk/ ) for more information and opening times, but I'd rather you go and try them for real, they're an institution and offer an exquisite experience to your palate.

Yelp
Nice vegan cafe in Sheffield - they have free wireless and lots of appealing options for food and drink. The main meals are around £6.50 I think which isn't bad given they come with rice and salad. It's not fancy but it is hearty and healthy and a great place for lunch.

Yelp
Delicious vegetarian food. Really friendly staff and good atmosphere. Food is a little over priced but all Veggie or Vegan with organic bread etc so you can't really complain. The local groups and business ads at the back are also worth checking out. Highly recommend for a nice relaxing lunch.

Yelp
Fabulous freshly made vegetarian and vegan food in the centre of Sheffield. Its in the old ELR building next to the Cathedral, just off Church Street. The food here is fantastic, theres always a good selection of freshly made salads to go with your main meal. The cakes are just too die for and you get very generous portions, all very reasonably priced. They also serve a small selection of organic wine and beer if you fancy a tipple with your meal. It can get quite busy at time so you may need to wait a short while for a table.

Yelp
Right in the city centre (just to the left of Sheffield Cathedral), this is a cafe that my friend Harry recommended for lunch. Being a self-confessed meat lover, I don't usually go for vegetarian restaurants, but after visiting this place I will definitely be considering them as an option. We tried the Hommony pie with maccaroni - which was superb - and I had a very tasty slice of lemon cake for desert. Overall, this is an aesthetically pleasing place, friendly staff, and with four internationally-timed clocks of Meadowhall, Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley, they have a sense of humour too. Keep it up guys, this is a place I would always recommend: I imagine it gets crowded during University term-time though!

Yelp
Spent the whole weekend looking for this place and when i found it there were a dissapointing 2 vegan options on the menu, which cost about £7.50 each - I also got a cuppa so £9.80 / so in total. The food wasnt the best and whilst eating i saw a mouse run across the room and into the floor boards - I presume their beer is brewed in the cellar so i wouldn't be buying a pint from here if i was you

Yelp
Very nice...my food (vegetarian) was really good - I had the cauliflower and cheese but vegans didn't have all that many options. Still, you can't beat the price for the huge amount of food you get. Some staff are a little surly but all in all, I would certainly go back.

Yelp
They do rather good coffee and a variety of vegetarian and vegan food. I had some vegan banana cake, it was pretty good.

Yelp
Its really nice to have a great vegetarian cafe within easy reach of the city centre. Blue Moon cafe is just that. The menu is not very varied but the food is well cooked and tastes extremely fresh. The cafe is quite small and so can be quite crowded but is well worth a visit.

Yelp
When I worked in Sheffield city centre I discovered this cafe as somewhere to go and get a quick nutritious lunch. There is a choice of a few hot vegetarian dishes (lasagna, moussaka etc...) and other meals such as burritos and quesadillas. You order at the till and take your food to your table yourself. They have a nice selection of soft drinks and alcohol and they make delicious cakes. The management work there and the staff they employ are very pleasant. I initially went here as a single diner, which I found a comfortable experience. In the summer I sometimes ordered the food to takeaway. When I am with friends I often suggest we go here and they are always delighted with the food.

Yelp
Always do a good selectoin of food and some fine cake.
