Blue Moon Retreat Center is beautiful! Accommodations are not similar if you are used to USA stays, although can be great if you are expecting rustic retreat style. Coming for a service trip with a large school group was okay, although perhaps depending on what you are looking for, this may not be the best place for a traditional American standard family vacation. Some looked at it as camping in a bungalow with cooked meals. The hosts, Aneta & family could not have been more kind or better hosts. Aneta and kids speak Spanish and English and will help you with any problem that comes up. Rue and kitchen staff also work around special diets!||The scene could not be more beautiful, meals are served at the top of a hill with a beautiful palm tree and mountain view that goes on forever! With the location being a mountain, large busses are not able to come up the windy road, which lead to large groups having to walk up and down the hill to get the their bus on the street (About 10 minuets without luggage). |The best part of this place is that the whole facility had certified clean drinking water in all of their taps- hard to find in the DR. Showers and faucets were all safe.| |Rooms are bungalow style ranging from amounts of cots in each one. Most bungalows had two bathrooms and showers if they had two "sides" or sets of doors. |If you are scared of bugs this is NOT the place for you. Look out for mosquitos, spiders, Geckoes, cockroaches and more. Thankfully all beds are provided with mosquito nets. Also, watch out for ants and be prepared by bringing a plastic bag or something else to wrap your suit case in, they are all over and bite so we're not at all easy to remove from luggage. |Overall a wonderful stay if it is what you were expecting, try not to go unprepared for it could be surprising at first. Overall a wonderful stay.
