Im so glad places like this exist. A small business in an unorthodox setting/location that makes you not just fulfilled for getting high quality clothing but a sense of keeping a community alive. Great place to get handmade Japanese denim and very friendly staff. Buster helped me find my jeans and hemmed them for me. Located kinda in a narrow street with a couple parking spots out front. Check em out.

Google
Great selection of selvedge denim and tailoring was done spectacularly, however, I was disappointed with the in-store experience today with unhelpful staff. My bf and I asked if we could apply the 10% first time customer discount after our purchase, but the staff said we’d have to pay a 6% card processing fee to do so which I’ve never encountered at any other store and honestly felt misleading since returns here are often processed as store credit which would've been a solution. It would’ve been nice if they had tried to accomodate us since we had just spent $400.

Google
The biggest selection of both imported and made in USA selvedge denim- Railcar, Naked and Famous, and Hiroshi Kati to name a few. Went in with novice level knowledge, and they brought me up to speed and were super knowledgeable and I bought the pair they suggested, not the ones that I went in for. Hem on site, you read that right. Had a nice selection of boots, Birkenstocks, shirts and accessories. I’ll definitely be back. They accept cash for those that carry it. Really enjoyed this shop local place.

Google
A little tucked away, but a great shop. Awesome inventory and staff/service. Got my hem repaired here and turnaround time was really fast. They have a Union Special and offer chain stitching here.

I have only ordered online, but Blue Owl had the best customer service I have seen in a long time! Super helpful with my orders, returns, etc. One of my favorite places to shop now! Thanks David!

Google
I’ve been coming to Blue Owl Workshop for years, as their denim collection is top tier. They have a wide selection of high-quality Japanese denim that’s hard to find even in Japan with all the brands available under one roof. The staff is super knowledgeable and always helpful. They also offer free on-site hemming when you buy a pair of pants. Highly recommend checking them out!

Google
First order and I am impressed. The pants fit perfectly and the hemming service is very good. I look forward to visiting the store next time I am in Seattle this summer. I look forward to getting them broken in.

Google
I’m so glad I found this place. I found it through the Naked and Famous store locator and I’m so glad I went. I purchased 2 pair of naked and famous jeans. The staff was incredible. Super helpful and beyond knowledgeable on what they sell.

Yelp
What a great shop tucked away near the Fremont Cut! The selection is impressive and they constantly have new and interesting stock. You can find a lot of rare denim on the internet these days, but what sets Blue Owl apart is the customer service. They are willing to chat with you for as much or as little as you'd like and are a great source of both knowledge and informed opinions. They offer free hemming and it is fast. Blue Owl Workshop is undeniably expensive and you can get a pair of jeans for fifty bucks at any number of places. But if you want high quality denim from Japanese and American brands, Blue Owl offers a great selection of hard-to-find brands and a high level of customer service. Well worth a stop if you are in Seattle.

Yelp
This shop is AWESOME! My husband recently bought a pair of selvedge jeans from them and was able to get them hemmed in the store in under 30 minutes. They have so many denim options to choose from for men and the staff are highly knowledgeable. Highly worth checking them out if you're in the area.

Yelp
Coolest Jean store I've ever been in. I bought 2 pairs of naked and famous left hand twill jeans from this place. They have a huge selection from Oni to momotaro . The service is really really op notch- they will take as much time with you as you want. It's a little expensive but what hobby isn't? Japanese denim is definitely a hobby worth looking into. I think you can get a decent pair of jeans from this place from about 100-500 bucks.

Yelp
Great clothes. The guys running the place were super nice and helpful. I with there were more men's shops like this one in Seattle.

Yelp
When I started getting into Japanese salvage denim, this came up as a highly rated place in the US to buy Japanese denim without having to fly to Japan or pay for a middleman service. It was one of the places I wanted to visit during my brief trip to Seattle while seeing family. There is a little bit of parking along the bike path that is parallel to the waterfront. Depending on when you go, it could be easy or a struggle to find a spot. I went in the mid-late afternoon and we found a spot. The shop is primarily denim with some men's shirts and other accessories available. You'll find brands like Naked and Famous, Samurai, Blue Blue Japan, and others here, all in different sizes, washes, colors, and price points. The team there offered to help people with hemming jeans they planned to purchase and I believe they offer services on the premise to hemming and minor repairs. (I did hear a sewing machine on the second floor of the store when I was there.) If this is your first introduction to Japanese denim, be aware that they are going to have minimal stretch or elastic in the fiber content - these are primarily cotton and will give after multiple wears to conform to your body and how you wear them. The prices are not cheap here, but you're paying for quality denim made on old school looms and machines. Additionally, you might need to size up - this is pretty normal. I did try a couple of Blue Blue Japan and a Samurai pair on, but didn't buy anything that day. It was still a good experience since I wanted to see this place in person.

Leo W.

Yelp
First two orders were ok. Their products are legit. However, They downgraded my 3rd order to regular shipping without notifying the customer. They are about 50% more expensive than the Online retailers from Japan but I receives my orders from japan sooner than ordering from blue Owl. On top of that, their BOW point system is a little confusing. The site showed I had $60 of BOW point and I was told it was an error after I made my purchase based on the fact that I "thought" I had the points. Please think twice before making your first purchase.

Bo L.

Yelp
Excellent service. I got some jeans yesterday and Jetten (I hope I wrote the name correctly) went above and beyond. I would highly recommend this workshop for flannels, beanies and self edge jeans.

Yelp
Fabulous clothing store that is geared towards raw denim lovers. For those of you who don't know, there is an artisan community around denim and this is one of the most well known retailers that serves them. Staff was super nice with a lot of experience and knowledge. Stock was plentiful for the best raw denim brands and other clothing as well such as loop wheeled tshirts and belts. Worth a visit for sure. Should note the physical location is a bit off the main path as it is facing a pond and not on a big foot traffic retail street.

Aaron C.

Yelp
I'm gonna go with thumbs down for the internet side of this business. Clothing (especially the "raw" denim) that Blue Owl sells is very fit dependent. I purchased some raw stretch denim from Blue Owl and after receiving in the mail, quickly decided that they weren't for me (fit too large, material felt somehow thin and cheap; even though the jeans were quite expensive compared to denim you might find in the mall). So I go to return them and the policy is.... wait for it... you can only return for store credit! I'll return the jeans and buy something else; but the next time I'm looking for jeans I certainly won't buy from Blue Owl again. Again, this for the internet side of their business. I understand if you buy something in person, you've likely tried it on.. and the return policy should be different. But with internet clothing... ANY and I mean ANY luxury goods company not only allows returns on anything besides final sale.. they also include a free return shipping label. I definitely won't be a repeat customer.

Yelp
Really stylish and well-made clothing here. I recently purchased two belts and had to exchange them for a different size. Easy Peezy. I'm looking at other things on their website and there's so much to choose from. All fairly unique clothing that is higher quality than most of what you see in the major retailers. I find myself going back to their website every couple of days to browse. The website is very well done and easy to navigate.

Yelp
A wonderful place to find the city's best denim And some fantastic curated street wear. A perfect place to shop for the urban informed consumer looking for new threads.... or foot wear
google avatar

Alex W.

Yelp
Two of my N&F jeans had crotch blowouts. Blue Owl did a great job fixing them at a reasonable price. I'm very happy to have two pairs of jeans back in my rotation!

Bobby V.

Yelp
This place definitely deserves the 5-stars other reviewers are giving! The staff is knowledgable, friendly, and attentive. The staff was able to help narrow down a few pairs of jeans for me to pick some and was able to tell me how much I can expect the jeans to stretch and shrink so I can get that perfect fit. They give complimentary hemming if you buy the jeans there, else it is $25 (as of March 2017). They chain stitch the hem so your jeans will look like it originally did and will last longer when compared to getting it hemmed by a regular machine. Unfortunately the selection isn't as big as other retailers out there, but the brands they do carry are definitely top-notch stuff and is enough for most denim enthusiasts. And since it is local, and I get to try on the jeans before making a purchase, I will definitely go here first whenever I am feeling a new pair of jeans.

Stephen D.

Yelp
A little too high end for me, but love their stuff and glad Seattle has a world class source for great denim

Yelp
I had heard of Blue Owl from my friends at Freenote Cloth, Railcar, and Rogue Territory. Being from So Cal I am lucky to live in the area where many great denim and shirting makers call home and I am able to meet and get to know the people behind the brands. I sought out this shop as one of my must visits on my vacation after seeing some of the colabs done with some of the L.A. area denim makers and after being recommended to me by David from Freenote. This is a destination shop and not easy to find unless you know you are looking for it, not some place you just happen upon. Upstairs with only a small logo on the door next to an Italian place. You'll know you are in the right place when you open the door and get hit with that worn raw denim smell. The fade museum is epic. The sheer volume of raw denim on hand is second to none. I've only seen one other shop with this kind of stock, Self Edge in L.A.. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even had the cobalt weft PBJ's in stock, but alas not in my size. I ended up picking up one of the new Freenote Cloth shirts that were sold out EVERYWHERE but here. The staff let me take all the photos I wanted and even posed for a shot with me. If you are in the area and looking for raw denim do not miss this shop.

Yelp
For lack of better praise, Blue Owl is a raw denim mecca recognized as THE go-to shop for the best quality brands by denim fanatics in Seattle (if not the entire West Coast). That says a lot given that denim heads can be a pretentious lot (if you've gone to other denim shops you may have noticed), but at Blue Owl the customer service is second to none, and I like that they treat all customers with an equal amount of friendliness and respect, sharing some down-to-earth knowledge. The team working here really excels on all fronts: 1. Selection-- including the usual brands and hard to find editions, including JBJ, Momotaro, 3-Sixteen, Iron Heart, Naked or famous, etc etc etc. They also have their cross collaborations in stock. 2. Knowledge of fit and sizing (all pairs I have ever purchased here fit perfectly, post hem). 3. On the spot hemming that takes 8 minutes. HUGE deal given that most other boutiques have to send away for hemming. 4. Nice collection of fades hanging up around the shop to appreciate while shopping. Definitely a place to visit if you are into denim and in the Seattle area.

Yelp
(Visited July 2018) This is definitely a destination spot so I won't speak too much about the location. The shop itself is situated in a secluded area surrounded by small industrial businesses. Once you enter the shop, you'll be greeted by the friendly and very knowledgeable staff. Blue Owl carry a vast selection of men's clothing so you can spend hours here looking through and trying on the different selection.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVED this shop. I went in with some knowledge on denim, but now I know way more! I went in looking for a new pair of jeans and not really knowing what I was looking for, I did however have some brands in mind, but the guy that helped me (forgot your name sorry) was super knowledgeable and helped measure me and got a few brands he thought would fit me nicely and I actually got the pair of the Japan blue denim and they fit perfect. Also, another thing I didn't know was measure the length and cut the jeans right in the shop to how you want them. I'm from Los Angeles and I've yet to find a shop like this. Ended up walking out with a tanner goods belt as well, another well made accessory that compliments the jeans nicely. Well done with this shop.

Yelp
Blue Owl Workshop is a men's boutique fashion shop in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle. They are a little store tucked away on the second floor of unassuming building so it's a little hard to find if you've never been there. Upstairs once inside you'll notice it has kind of an vintage American feel to it with the older Singer (I think it is anyways) sewing machine upfront and rustic hardwood floors. You'll find clothing items such as every type of raw denim jean on the planet, flannel button ups, good year welted boots and various outerwear. Lots of designer or higher end brands like Wings + Horns, Gitman Vintage, Oakstreet Boot Makers and Canada Goose. I would say nothing here is cheap besides maybe some of the full grain leather belts. The staff is usually comprised of some fashion savy and helpful dudes that provide great customer service. They also have a rewards program you can take advantage of, but really the 10% or whatever you get back you could probably save upfront shopping online as cashola instead of credit. However I like to support retail storefronts for clothes since it's something you want to see in person and get advice on. Blue Owl Workshops is one of few stores in Seattle that cater to the more fashion/quality focused men's wear crowd.

Yelp
This is a long overdue update: I've been back a few times since, got some similar loose top block, high rise, tapered jeans from 3sixteen and Pure Blue Japan. I've also recommended the shop to people otherwise not in the denim cognoscenti. I'm always floored at the personalized, friendly, and non-condescending service at such a great store. Every interaction I've had at Blue Owl has been pleasant. Bringing my friend who doesn't know anything about jeans typifies the experience at Blue Owl: I had a friend who was interested in new jeans after I chewed his ear off about denim. He's quite athletic and really liked how some of my jeans looked so I suggested he go to Blue Owl. On a whim, I brought him here in the dead middle of summer and just let him loose. I didn't say anything and just let him browse but someone helped--I kind of did the "lay back and see what the associate says" thing. The two associates helped without pressuring and without upselling, they found out what he liked through trying on stuff and suggested alternative pairs for different properties. It was never rushed--and it was literally 90 degrees inside the store! He ended up getting Momotaro's by the way. Anyway, if I could give 10 stars I would. TL; DR: amazing selection, amazing service, truly a gem in the Emerald City.

Yelp
The Blue Owl is hands down the best raw denim megastore in the Northwest. Tuck away on the second floor of a strip plaza, it's truly is a hidden gem. Customer service is fabulous. Selections are huge (Momotaro, Japan Blue, Ironheart, Naked and Famous, etc). They are one of three stores in the world to carry Naked and Famous x Street Fighter 2 Collab (one in Seoul, another in LA). And boy I tell ya, those are straight up fire. Personally heard from them that more collab with SF2 are on the way. First time visit, I was extremely lucky to have gotten a Indigo Vegan N&F pair on sale for $55. They even do free hemming for every purchase dpair (Got mine perfect length for a double cuff). Definitely coming back for many, many more amazing denims.

Zachary W.

Yelp
I'm a big denim head and this is a must stop for those interested in stiff, slubby, indigo denim. They have a great curated collection of Naked & Famous, Oni, Tanuki Denim and more. Definitely ask for Jiten as he is knowledgeable and friendly.
google avatar

Alex V.

Yelp
Awesome shop with very knowledgeable staff. Best part is that they hem your pants for free when you buy a pair. If the length doesn't work out after a few weeks then you can bring them back and they'll hem them again. It's nice to have a raw denim specialty spot in Seattle.
google avatar

Yelp
I was surprised at the selection of both denim and fashion items at this store. A candy store for any denim or high fashion aficionado, Blue Owl is a Seattle mainstay and there cool group of guys running it have been supplying me with threads for years. Customer service is always great every time I go in and hemming is quick.
google avatar

Drew C.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to get jeans. Bar none. They are always helpful with choosing which pairs are closest to what I'm looking for, which ones will have the best fit, and then hemming them to the perfectly length with a chain stitch. And I'm not local so they do all this by email! If you want a great pair of jeans, Blue Owl Workshop won't disappoint.

Yelp
So my fiancé will be writing this review since he mentioned he wanted to stop by here during our trip to Seattle and Portland. Blue Owl Workshop is the one of the best raw denim stores in the country. They carry a huge amount of brands, including Momotaro, Iron Heart, Naked and Famous, Unbranded, RGT, Railcar, 3Sixteen, as well as Canadian Goose and Reigning Champ. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The manager Jay helped my fiancé pick out a pair of soon to be discontinued denim from Naked and Famous for her little brother, and even honored their planned discounted pricing that they were planning to not set in place until next week. Kevin helped me try on many pairs, explained the different materials and processes each one underwent, and made suggestions based on what I was interested in. When I was checking out, he asked me where I was originally from, and when I said I was NJ, he waived the sales tax for me since NJ does not have tax on clothes. Super cool of them to do that for me. Alex hemmed my jeans, which was extremely impressive to watch. They do the hemming in house while you wait and they will even suggest how much material to take off depending on what kind of look you want. They use a chain-stitch method that ensure the integrity of the selvedge. In my case, Alex suggested to take off 2.5 inches since I wanted a little bit of stacking without looking too messy. They also have a rewards program that will give you a $10 credit for every $100 you spend. When dealing with raw denim this adds up pretty quick. The shop is pretty non-descript and can be hard to find. The shop is only indicated by the Blue Owl on the glass door, which can be easily overlooked if you don't know what to look for. In all, great products, and great customer service by Jay and his team made for a 5 star experience!
google avatar

Erik E.

Yelp
A trip to Seattle mandates a trip to the Blue Owl. The lone nondescript entrance betrays the warm, casual atmosphere of the inside of the shop. All the denim you could ask for complimented by perfect japanese/american-made outerwear, shirting and accessories that would fit into anyone's wardrobe. But what sells this place is the customer service. Jay and co. serve you like you've been invited into their home. They know their stuff top-to-bottom and are eminently friendly and helpful. They answer all questions so painlessly whether you're a denimhead or new to the game, and they always have great, honest suggestions. I've bought a pair of Momotaro's and most recently, a pair of sneakers from their store, and each time has just been an awesome experience which is an icing on the cake. To top it all off? Inhouse hemming that takes ~10-20 minutes! Wow! As someone who is 5'2", getting a dream pair of denim fitted perfectly out the door is all I could ask for. I hope you guys never close.

Yelp
It may be a little difficult to find, but this hidden gem is well worth the effort and trek for those from afar. I had the pleasure of buying my first pair of raw denim from the kind gentlemen of Blue Owl Workshop this evening. Not only was their staff very patient with the litany of questions I threw at them, but their answers clearly came from a position of experience and deep understanding of the product they carried. The store floor is relatively small, but on target for a boutique shop that specializes in a very narrow range of goods. Their selection, despite the small space, is vast. I've had problems finding pants that fit due to a relatively small waist and large thighs. After a few questions and a few trials, we had quickly narrowed in on a stellar pair of denim I was proud to carry home. In addition to the awesome selection and staff, the store goes out of their way to bring you back. Any pair of denim you buy from them can be hemmed for free using a traditional chain stitch machine. There is even a rewards program that can be used towards the purchase of future pairs. This place has it all. But for me as a first timer, what this experience boils down to is the customer service. For someone a little nervous at spending some serious cash on what is effectively a pair of pants, I want to know I am making the right choice and do so with confidence. The staff here excelled at making this possible. I am sure I will be back for another pair in the future.

Yelp
Just stopped in again - this place is almost too good at what they do. They're super nice, knowledgeable and they really care about high-quality clothing.
google avatar

Yelp
This is my husband and my 6th or 7th visit to Blue Owl Workshop, so I figured this would be a great time to finally leave them the Yelp review they deserve. The employees are extremely knowledgable, helpful and friendly. By the 3rd visit some of the employees remembered us and/or knew us by name. To me, that's impressive and says a lot about a business. During each visit, they act as something of a personal stylist, setting you up with your perfect fit and style. It is obvious that their goal is to make sure you are happy with your purchases. Their products are pricey, yes, but, you get what you pay for. Everything Blue Owl sells is extremely high in quality and is made to last a very long time. I cannot say enough good about this shop. As we move away from Seattle soon, Blue Owl is going to be a business that we will truly miss.

Yelp
I've been shopping (online only) from BOW for 4 years, and I'd give this place 6 stars if I could. * Phenomenal selection of exceptionally well-made clothing and accessories * World-class customer service and communication * Extremely competitive pricing Over the years Jay has taken the time to swap numerous emails with me about sizing for denim, and he's always been super customer-focused on purchases. I received the wrong size of jeans in the mail once, and he immediately sent me the right pair before I'd even have a chance to blink (the new pair arrived before I could even send the wrong pair back), and he gave me $30 in store credit to cover the shipping. Their BOW points program is also great! You get effectively 10% back on your purchases for every $100 you spend. I send everyone I know who's interested in well-made denim to BOW. Kudos to them for running an awesome business.

Hermeto P.

Yelp
Jay and Kevin provide some of the best customer service in Seattle, and will get you fitted PROPERLY into awesome jeans of super premium quality. They do hemming in house and immediately after purchase with a real cross stitch sewing machine meant for denim. If you want premium quality jeans this is the best place in the state. You'll have to go to Portland for any competition to Blue Owl. Fitment service here is on par with a custom tailor and far above service at Marios, Barneys, etc. (not that they carry nearly the quality nor selection of jeans that Blue Owl does).
google avatar

Tyler L.

Yelp
Absolutely the best denim store I've been to. Great selection, superb service -- was in and out with a new pair, including alterations, in a half hour. So glad to know this place is here -- and has been for 8 years!!?? Who knew. If you're looking for a place that knows how to fit a body type into a great pair of denim -- this is your spot.
google avatar

Eric O.

Yelp
Great experience at BOW -- I'm basically clueless when it comes to Japanese denim, the dyes, etc. Worry not. Alex has your back. Plan to spend about 30 mins trying on different brands and learning about the nuances of fabric, fit and care. You really won't find better quality, more options to choose from nor a more knowledgeable and authentic staff. They expertly do the hems right there on site (for free) while you wait.
google avatar

Dan W.

Yelp
I have not been to the shops physical location, but have made several online orders over the last year. They have been incredibly helpful in suggesting sizes, popular products, and exchanges when necessary. Their turnaround time is always insanely fast, and responses to my questions are quick. They have the good prices and free/fast shipping of major retailers, with the friendliness and flexibility you can only hope to find in unique retail stores. I know if I ever make it out to the area, I will absolutely be planning to spend a lot of time at their retail store.
google avatar

Wes C.

Yelp
Full Disclosure: I have only ordered from this store online. THE. CUSTOMER. SERVICE. HERE. IS. UNREAL. I'm literally almost speechless. Many high end denim shops seem to purvey a sense of snobbery towards customers. I like selvage denim and because I live in an area where there are no denim shops I buy online. I like to email stores and ask questions about specific pairs of jeans. I like to get measurements of stock. Many shops take a few days to respond - if they respond at all. These guys must work 24 hours a day because Kevin or Jay ALWAYS get back to me the same day. I'm a bit of a demanding customer. I'll ask them to send me exact measurements of 8 or 9 pairs of jeans they have in stock, and boom it's done. I ordered my first pair of high end selvedge denim from them and then decided I was unhappy them after I had removed the tags and worn them. Although I knew the return policy, I wrote them and explained my situation After a few emails discussing size they had shipped me a new pair of jeans (for free) on good faith! After this I am a customer for life. These guys are the best! They also have a great selection and their prices are usually better than the NYC based stores! If you haven't bought high end denim and are looking to buy a pair I really urge you to email them first and ask questions. These guys are super responsive and will do whatever it takes to help you find jeans that fit you right.

Matt L.

Yelp
This is a great hidden gem in Fremont. They have an overwhelming number of jeans there, plus some great looking clothes to go with them. The guy who helped me was knowledgeable and patient. He did a great job of sizing up my needs both literally and figuratively. I bought two pair and they are perfect. Love that they hem them on as you wait. If you're in the market for new jeans, give it a try. Highly recommend it.
google avatar

Jeffrey T.

Yelp
Amazing selection. Walked in and everyone there was more than happy to help. Very knowledgeable obviously and they don't pressure you at all to buy anything or push things that are a higher price. I found the exact pair of denim I was looking for. Will definitely come back.
google avatar

Abbie K.

Yelp
Refreshing to buy clothes made by craftspeople - not machines or slaves. The quality of the pants here are far superior than what you will find in a department store. They are designed to last years and years, not just for a single season. And perhaps the best part is you walk out with jeans that fit. There are so many cuts and fabrics that you will probably find a pair that fits your body almost like they were custom tailored for you. These pants look better than any ive owned because they fit right, and are made of top quality materials. So glad I found this place.

Yelp
Jay, Kevin, and the rest of the Blue Owl crew are all fantastic. To date, I have bought a number of things from them. This was the place where my journey into raw denim and all things quality menswear related began. Jay has hemmed two pairs of Momotaros, one pair of 3Sixteen, and four pairs of Iron Heart jeans for me. Every single one came out with an impeccable hem mirroring the original. Their "2nd-generation" (modified) Union Special is a beast, and very cool mechanically. I have had three negative experiences getting my jeans hemmed elsewhere (including some of the most prominent denim/menswear retailors in the US). The first time something unfortunate happened to a pair of jeans, Jay offered his hemming service free of charge--not even shipping. Let's review what happened again: Jay offered his hemming service to repair SOMEONE ELSE'S ERROR. For free. And paid for the return shipping. If you haven't inferred it already, I was quite... flabbergasted. Blue Owl's customer service knows no bounds and you will not be disappointed. If you're in the area, I implore you to stop by. Just two caveats (as for exceptions to these caveats, I'm unable to offer any further information). 1. The showroom, as far as I know, is still by appointment only. So be sure to call ahead--making an appointment is easy! 2. They have an exchange only policy. While I understand some people dislike exchange-only, this is a VERY common policy amongst high-end, small boutique shops such as Blue Owl. However, I think it's still good common knowledge to have when shopping here. I have not had any issues with regards to this policy as I precisely only buy things I am 99.99% certain about. Lastly, some hints: Their modal/ribbed shirts are the best undergarments/casual shirts you're going to find on this half of the world for $25 dollars (or was it $20? $18? I don't remember off the top of my head). They don't have them on their webstore, so if you get a chance to stop by, be sure to snag a few of these.

Yelp
Wow. Ever find out about a place from a friend that was kinda beyond a 'hidden gem'...more like the retail equivalent of a speakeasy? Now you have. The selection of raw denim jeans alone is phenomenal, add to it the other high quality clothing including a few pairs of sweet shoes/boots, natural leather belts and stylin' hats, the fact they hem your jeans on site free of charge and you've got the perfect men's jean buying experience, right? BUT WAIT FOR IT.... The service? It's like we are famous and just didn't know it. That's the only way I can explain the high quality, low pressure, information-rich help we received from the owner and an amazingly helpful employee. So yeah, this is the place to get those jeans you've been wanting, you know you're probably secretly famous too? Yeah, you're so gonna see what I mean and thank me.

Yelp
This. Place. Is. Magic! If you're a man in the market for amazing raw denim, this is the place to go in Seattle. There is practically nothing for women here. However, it's a very cool shop regardless. If you're into fashion and high quality denim in general, this is a great place to visit. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and passionate. The store itself is a bit hidden, which adds to the exclusive feel of the products and shop. The shop is located within the 707 building. Walk up the stairs to the second floor. The main part of the shop is in the very back room. There's a small room in between the front and back that has a cool, rare chain-stitch machine. This is the hemming area! They can do it in-house! BF and I were lucky enough to get a mini workshop of how the machine works. It was beautiful! Blue Owl carries so many great brands and products. I think it's well worth the trip to Fremont! It was fun just to touch everything - each pair has a special wash, weight, pattern, color...Careful of indigo hands! Hehe :P I saw a plethora of things other than denim too - small leathers goods like belts, Tanner wallets, nice shirts, keychains, a couple of artisan-looking duffel bags, etc. There is a lot of Naked and Famous raw denim here - including a very cool pair that Blue Owl, Naked and Famous, and the Okayama mill all collaborated on. Here's a link: http://www.blueowl.us/product/naked-and-famous-slim-guy-16oz-okayama-spirit-unsanforized-selvedge-denim/ Isn't it neat? Mmm...It's so weighty~ Super well made as usual! The staff here is awesome. Unfortunately I don't remember both names. I remember Jay. There was also another guy that helped us. He was fantastic. BF says he was very patient and helpful. Got him new sizes, offered helpful insight...made him feel like the most important customer! I have a feeling BF will be back here whenever he's in the mood for some quality indigo! :P Excellent shop.

Yelp
If you are looking for raw demin, Jay is the man to see. Absolutely amazing customer service! Jay went above and beyond to help me get what i needed. I placed an online order and the jeans were a bit large. He sent me a size down on good faith and told me to send back the pair the didn't fit. My body didn't fit either pair, Jay took them back without hesitation. Throughout the entire time he was extremely communicative and did everything he could to get the right pair of jeans. Jay knows his denim. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to give Blue Owl Workshop a ring. It doesn't hurt that Blue Owl's prices are better than many of their competitors!

Yelp
Great shopping place. Isn't just a denim store as many people might think, they also carry tons of great casual menswear stuff and accessories (Sweaters, tees, jackets, sneakers, boots, leather goods & accessories etc). Store was definitely hard to find; I walked around the block and eventually found a door with the Blue Owl logo on it. The store is actually on the second floor, and the showroom was impressively decorated and visually appealing to look at. Tons of great household brands like wings + horns, Reigning Champ, Naked & Famous, 3sixteen, and also some rarer Japanese finds from Pure Blue Japan, Shoes Like Pottery, FACTOCUM etc). Everything seems to be made in First World countries, hence the steeper price of the goods they sell. For a high-end and upscale store, man is the customer service great as mentioned by everyone else here. I didn't feel a pretentious vibe to the store, nor was I followed around. I didn't feel pressured to make a purchase. Two people helped me out and answered my questions (I think Jay and Alex are their names from looking at their Instagram page). I ended up buying a new leather wallet from Tanner Goods. Unfortunately I already have enough jeans in my rotation, but when I need a new pair this will definitely be the place I'll hit up.

Yelp
Everything they sell here is really high quality and the staff is knowledgable. If you are expat from a bigger city you will feel right at home here. They stock a lot of items from Japan, and restock the most popular items regularly. In general, prices range from $80 - $500 per item. Good place to stock up on basics that will get a lot of use: wallets, belts, jackets, jeans, boots.

Yelp
Holy denim! Unreal selection of denim and the staff will help you pick out the perfect pair and chain stitch the hems while you wait! Also great selection of shirts, jackets, and leather goods.

Yelp
I've been an online shopper of Blue Owl Workshop for a couple of years, as their denim selection is deep, high quality and unique, and the service is the best I've experienced for any online store, let alone a boutique with only one location. They will custom chain stitch hem and ship out your order faster than anyone out there. If I lived in Seattle I'd be in trouble, but being able to shop so easily online is a good compromise.

Yelp
Worth a trip to Seattle. Alright, maybe there are a lot of reasons to love Seattle, but this New Yorker was bowled over by how great Blue Owl is. Vibe is welcoming and the staff possesses an ocean of patience as they helped to find the perfect brand, weight, color and fit for endless options of the best denims I've ever seen. And after picking out a couple pairs of jeans, I poked around the shirts and t's for 15 minutes while the tailor hemmed the pants for me. By the time I checked out, I had pretty much revamped my casual wardrobe. Terrific selection that's hip without trying too hard and varied enough to find age-appropriate current clothes whether you are 25 or 55. For a slim guy who goes to the gym a lot, I have trouble finding clothes that aren't too baggy or boring. At Blue Owl I pretty much wanted to buy everything they had.

Yelp
I was really excited after reading reviews and decided to come here for my next pair of denims. They have an interesting collection but were out of stock for my size (34-36 waist) for anything I liked. I was offered limited help probably because there were other two customers. The store was dimly lit and hence i could even tell the difference between a deep indigo vs black. A lit of stuff i found not much value for money. I bought a shirt but really wanted to buy a denim which i could have with more help from the staff.

Yelp
I've been shopping at Blue Owl Workshop for 4-5 years now. Every time I go I'm reminded just how lucky we are to have this shop in Seattle. Everything about it is great. Their customer service is as good as it gets. If fact I'm not sure I've been to a business with better customer service. Especially a retail shop. One of the things I really like about it is I get to work with the same guy every time I go in and he always makes time for me even tho working the floor isn't his job anymore. It's above and beyond if you ask me. It really shows that Jay must take care of his people and provides a cool place to work, cause they stick around for the long haul. Over the years he's gotten to know me and my style, which is a bit different than a lot of denim heads out there. He's able to help me find stuff that's my style and never pressures me to buying anything or pushes me to try stuff that isn't for me. It's always so chill. The brands they carry are the best of the best. Stuff that for the most part you can only find online. I love that I can go somewhere and feel the denim and try it on. I tend to go in for a new pair of Tanuki's and end up leaving with something extra. I always find something I just gotta have. So if you are reading this, do yourself a favor and stop in. Their new store front is great and the the guys there are awesome. I'm sure you will end up being a loyal customer like I am. Thanks to Jay, Logan and the rest of the team at Blue Owl Workshop!! I'll see you guys again soon.
