"A highlight of the London restaurant scene for more than 30 years, the River Cafe is as iconic as it is delicious, and all the more remarkable when you consider it was intended as the employee canteen of an architect’s office headquarters. Run by Ruth Rogers, wife to that architect, Richard Rogers, who opened it with chef Rose Grey, it’s also a sublime riverside dining spot, perfect for an al fresco lunch. The Italian food is simple—think whole Dover Soleroastedin the restaurant’s wood stove and richdesserts such as their chocolate Nemesis cake—and by no means cheap. But rest assured, especially given the number of chefs that have trained in the River Cafe’s kitchens, from Jamie Oliver to April Bloomfield (of New York’s The SpottedPig), this is quality cooking."

Lovely little café. I popped in for a quick bite and it was perfectly fine for what I needed. I enjoyed a nice cup of hot tea on a rainy day, and the staff were genuinely lovely. Just a note that the toilet is downstairs and accessed via a steep, narrow staircase.

An American's favourite London cafe. Have been coming here for 4 years; it's my first stop every time I'm in the city. Egg royal, bagel w/ smoked salmon and cappuccino is my order. Very kind staff, fast service & cozy atmosphere. 10/10 recommend.

Amazing little cozy neighbourhood cafe, very reasonable prices, we ordered full English breakfast and a panini, coffee and teas, all very tasty. Highly recommended

Lovely place to eat a full breakfast, have good coffee and great service! If you don't like something, like tomatoes, you get something else. We went two mornings. A great start to a busy day 👍

Brilliant cafe and super quick service. We were greeted with a warm friendly welcome as soon as we arrived. We ordered a full English breakfast and it arrived at our table in less than 10 minutes. The cafe is small so I imagine it can get busy quickly. This is a traditional cafe where you get great service and freshly prepared food.

Perfect blend of a greasy spoon and a modern cafe - cheap - old school English breakfast - proper coffee machine - attentive Evolved London!

Wonderful English breakfast at reasonable price! The only problem was that on the menu it was written coffee was included in the breakfast price, but they made us pay separately for it. I give 4/5 to the location rather than 5/5 just because they kept the door open and it was a little bit too cold for me (march in London is not so hot to keep a door open, but it’s just a personal opinion!) Apart from this, everything was fine and I strongly recommend it!
