I came here on a Saturday night in late February with two others for dinner. The temperature outside was seasonal and dry. We made the reservation earlier in the week. The restaurant was lively but not full so it seems like the restaurant could have accommodated a walk-in reservation. Our server was lovely, patient, and knowledgeable of the menu. I hope the restaurant is taking great care of her because she is a great asset. The menu seems a bit overly eclectic. I chose the lobster bisque pasta which tasted like nothing. If I came back, I would not order a pasta and would probably choose something from the seafood or Tapas menu. I would go back to this restaurant is someone else I was dining with suggested it, but I wouldn’t seek it out or specifically recommend it.

I love this place! I come here every time I’m in New York! The food is always amazing and I have a favorite waiter here - Mihaela, who is always so kind and so funny and so nice! I highly recommend the sage ravioli and their goat cheese and crunchy almonds salad! 5 stars! ♥️ see you next year!

Google
Cute spot for happy hour! $2 oysters, Blue Point from Long Island, during the happy hour and great spot to chill after the show and end the night in the city :) super friendly server as well!

Google
Great seafood, the ceviche and the risotto are amazing. Small seating area and tables but you don't feel overcrowded. All the seafood we tried was very flavorful and good portion sizes, main dishes are easily shareable.

Google
We had such a spectacular dinner here! The food was delicious and the setting is beautiful. Would recommend the seafood salad and the risotto di mare - extremely fresh and flavorful dishes. We are definitely coming back for more!

Google
Came for the oyster happy hour and they were so tasty! We got the rib eye and the salmon and both were tasty. The potatoes were so sensational. Our waiter Armando was amazing!

Google
A beautiful small restaurant with European vibes. I stopped in for a quick bite, just ordering charcuterie with brie and foie gras pâté. The bread is really good on its own, but has too full of a flavor to go with the cheese and pâté, it really overpowered both.

Google
best happy hour in the city. 10pm to close every day - r u kidding me. catch me here every friday if i could. we got focaccia, olives and shrimp and a bottle of Prosecco. the focaccia was a standout in the spicy olive oil for sure. the bartender was so so friendly and hospitable (as well as the regulars). great local spot and if you’re not in the area i would go out of my way to come here. worth it every time for happy hour.

Yelp
I recently hit up Blue Seafood and Bar for brunch, and let me tell you, this spot is a breath of fresh air in NYC's brunch scene of "throw an egg on top of everything". The nautical-themed decor with its cool blue tones and marine art gives off a chill, elegant feel. The service was good: friendly, knowledgeable staff who are there when you need them but don't hover. It makes the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. They kick things off with this amazing caponata and crusty bread. It's a sweet, sour, and savory eggplant relish that had me hooked from the first bite. Such a great way to start the meal. I started with the Kumamoto oysters, and wow, they were fresh and briny with just the right touch of sweetness. The mignonette sauce added a nice zing, making them an absolute treat. The seafood salad came next, and it was a colorful, fresh mix of shrimp, scallops, and calamari in a light, citrusy dressing. Super refreshing and tasty--definitely not your average brunch salad. For the main event, I went with the classic 2 eggs, which came with a side of mixed greens and roasted potatoes. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the salad was crisp and lightly dressed, and the potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Simple, but done right. What I loved most about Blue Seafood and Bar is that they don't stick to the usual brunch clichés. Their menu has real variety and quality, which makes it stand out from the crowd. You can even order from their regular menu. So, if you're looking for a brunch spot that's a cut above the rest, with great food and a cool vibe, you've got to check out Blue Seafood and Bar. It's definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
This is clearly a post-work meetup place, and I think the happy hour menu is the draw. Otherwise, I think it's rather overpriced, considering the quantity and quality of the food. We ordered the small seafood tower, and everything (save the clams) was fine. But not quite enough for two people, frankly. So we got some cheese, which came with a couple of pieces of toast (not a particularly good "focaccia"). Husband ordered a dessert too -- a crème brûlée served in a coffee cup, really cutting down on the surface area for the brûlée sadly. (More of a mousse too.) All in all, everything tasted okay and service was prompt. But I'm not sure we'd come back for anything other than the cheap happy hour oysters.

Yelp
I had a delivery order of oysters, fish & chips and panna cotta. I had never ordered nor expected a restaurant to deliver shucked raw oysters, but Blue Seafood Bar did and they were excellent! They were served on ice with cocktail sauce and lemons. They were juicy, fresh and delicious! The flounder was nicely cooked with some crispiness to the breading and a nicely cooked large single piece of fish inside. The fries were still crispy, too. I really enjoyed the panna cotta dessert...excellent! Also included were two small pieces of a strange looking though tasty purple colored sour dough bread! Delivery was fast, and the price was average for Manhattan. In all, I was very pleased with this meal! I hope to go to this restaurant in the future.

Yelp
Super charming local spot. Went for happy hour and wee not disappointed. Sat at the bar and had great, attentive service, with a very reasonable price point.

Yelp
The food itself was "mostly" good but pricey for what you get. The price of oysters were very high so it doesn't make sense to choose half a dozen so we opted to do a seafood tower because we wanted lobster as well. The tower we ordered came with 4 shrimp cocktail, 4 raw clams, 4 raw oysters, king crab, and half of a lobster. The shrimp were big and the best part, the clams were very bitter, the oysters were good but the Kumamoto were about half the size of what I usually see, The lobster was overcooked, and the king crab was maybe 3" of crab cut up. We also ordered the steak which was good - we ordered medium rare but it came out medium and still had a lot of gristle. We had the grilled mixed vegetables which were pretty oily - it came with eggplant, zucchini, and tomatoes. The mixed vegetables were mostly zucchini and again, the portion was small. We only saw half a tomato and 1 piece of eggplant in the entire order. We also ordered the broccoli rab which was good but we didn't like that they cut it up into very small pieces. The location itself is decent. It was weird that they asked if we had reservations considering how empty the restaurant was - there were a few people sitting at the bar and then MAYBE 5 or 6 tables being used which included ours. We also thought it was awkward to have so many tables but only 1 bathroom. The best part was our server. She was friendly, attentive, and not overbearing. I wish I could score everything separately, 2 stars seems too low and 3 stars seems too high Food 3 stars Price 2 stars Ambience 3 stars Staff 4 stars

Yelp
This place was excellent for Happy hour. Ordered 12 Long Island Oysters. They were absolutely delicious. Presentation was super cute also. The cocktail and vintages type sauces they give you to eat with are great. Bartender/waiter guy was so friendly and nice. Ordered the veggie goat cheese focaccia they give spicy oil sauce to eat with so good. For drink I ordered and expresso martini totally did the trick also helped keep me awake for the opera we went to after. Come check out this cute spot. Dim lit and very cute interior design.

Yelp
What a treat... Hopefully one of the best seafood restaurants I've had in New York City in a long time. Is it pricey, of course it is, but you're paying for great food and amazing service. My spouse and I came here for our anniversary and we're not disappointed. The restaurant was clean and fun; and I especially loved the very clean and chic bathroom. We able to make a reservation quick easily, and when we arrived, they were ready for us without weeding. Place was pretty packed, but I waitress was super attentive, and very informative. Everything was fresh and seasoned perfectly. We both enjoyed the grilled octopus, which was super tender and amazing. We also had the mixed seafood platter for two which was out of this world. I highly recommend you come and visit.

Yelp
This is a cozy little seafood place over on 9th avenue. I believe. The seafood is the star here. Oysters are great! The halibut was great. The service was on point. They had a nice selection of wines. It's not a very large spot so I can see how it would be hard to get a table but we were there all on the right night and it wasn't too crowded. Give them a try

Yelp
I just loved the ambiance and we came at happy hour . The bartender Moises is absolutely fabulous and helpus with the selection of both wine and food . I can't wait to come back again

Yelp
My very stop for food and enjoyment. Let me tell you I could've stayed here all night long. The food was amazing. I tried a dish for the first time called pattay (not sure if im spelling it correctly) I could eat that all day long. It was so good. The ambience was perfect fun casual, and super friendly. I loved our bartender/server. He was very catering to us taught me everything on the menu so I can make good choices and the wine was excellent. I would like to visit again as I want to try other things on the menu. So glad my friend took me here

Keith H.

Yelp
We went in for happy hour oysters and were not disappointed! The oysters were large, but not very flavorful (can't complain though- $1 oysters in midtown manhattan are a rare sight). Our server, Wendy, was kind and attentive; she recommended the highlight of the night: the coffee creme brulée- it was truly delicious. The vibe is nice- small, but classy seafood spot with a great bar. Only one bathroom, and the toilet was having issues when we were there. We'll definitely be returning!

Yelp
Fresh seafood! We are so much....scallop carpaccio, seafood tower, fresh lobster(chilled), shrimp cocktail, crab claws, dozen blue point and a dozen Komoto oysters and tuna tartare! Atmosphere a classy bar. Owner and staff are all 100% We will return.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly. Kumamoto oysters was awesome. Ordered the seafood platter for 2 but it definitely could feed more.

Yelp
Best kept secret in NY. Gabriela and Matt make you feel like you have been coming for years - even if it is the first time you went. Amazing food - amazing atmosphere - amazing amazing amazing!

Yelp
Food, service and Ambience are all wonderful. I gave been here a few times and the staff ia always pleasant and helpful. Menu has a nice variety

Yelp
We had a big party and this was one of the few places that would take us late at night. Regardless, we were pleasantly surprised. The service was great and super friendly. Prices were a bit high for what you get. - Oysters (4.5/5): tasted super fresh, had great flavors overall - Lobster roll (3.5/5): this was good but nothing special. It tasted a bit too creamy and just like something was missing. The bread was like a sweet roll that reminded me of a Hawaiian roll, which paired well. Just a bit small of a portion

Yelp
Great seafood restaurant in the heart of Hell's Kitchen. Tasty cocktails and fresh seafood. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Came here for an appetizer and bottle of wine with my friend. No reservation needed on a Friday night which was nice. Restaurant has a very authentic feel, service was good, and food was relatively high-quality. Would recommend!

Yelp
In short, this is a cute place for date night / catching up with a friend, but expect your dinner to go for at least two hours due to the slow times between each dish being delivered to the table! There is both indoor and outdoor seating available -- if you choose to sit indoors, they will take your temperature and contact information. The tables are spaced apart with plexiglass in between, so I felt safe dining indoors! We ordered the Grilled Spanish Octopus to start, and wanted to share the Garganelli Duck Ragu and Seafood Pizza. The table for two was very small, so they were only able to deliver one dish at a time. The service was great -- Gabriela was our server and very friendly, and there were others who would clear our plates between each dish and refill our waters and offer pepper/parmesan. I loved the octopus and the garganelli, but the pizza was not great. It's a good amount of seafood, but it really weighs down the thin crust and makes the crust soggy. I would thus recommend the other dishes but not the pizza. It took a looooong time between each dish, so our meal was about two hours from ordering to paying the check. Again, heads up that if you are looking for a quick dinner, this may not be the best option for you!

Alex T.

Yelp
Amazing service and a cozy, quaint environment. Great food and a unique space. Will be a new regular spot!

Yelp
Just arrived in NY city and was looking for a place with a good NY vibe. Stumbled upon the friendly Blue Seafood Bar - an upscale neighborhood joint with the friendly bartender Moises! The bar serves a nice selection of wines (I recommend the Rioja), liquors and small plate tapas food! Moises suggested the fried seafood bowl appetizer with our wine which we enjoyed! Very lightly battered and healthy! The fried zucchini was really delicious! (Along with shrimp, calamari, scallops, etc). We sat at the bar and had some great banter with locals. They gave us some great tips on where to visit in NY! (Thank you Loren!) Just a few blocks away from the more touristy areas but so much more interesting and down to earth! Would definitely return and the full menu! Give this a try! You will enjoy it!

Yelp
We have been here many times for brunch. Last night we went for dinner and loved it. Always great service and nice ambience. we loved the fresh oysters and the salmon tartare. Also we tried a few things from the Spanish tapas menu. And then we shared the pizza topped with yummy seafood. Delicious.

Grecia M.

Yelp
Reliable neighborhood spot! I went for happy hour oysters ($2 ea) and they were delicious! Also, shared a margarita pizza to end the evening.
google avatar

Valentina M.

Yelp
We went on a Monday which was quite, but the weekends are busy and noisy. You can go wrong with anything on the menu. This is a place to eat for the picky eaters and adventurous eaters. They have pasta, pizza and exotic seafood dishes. The cocktails are amazing too. Love it here!

Tawana S.

Yelp
This evening my husband and I went for dinner . Words can't express how great the ambiance , food and drinks were. We had amazing service from Moisa ! We found out about this restaurant through social media and the reviews were true ! We will be back !!!

Elyse E.

Yelp
Amazing as always!! Exceptional food, service, and atmosphere! Without a doubt make it to Blue on your trip!

Yelp
Great service and varied menu. Seafood, pizza, good brunch options, with "bottomless" (90 minute max) for about $44. Drinks are avg $12 and entrees are about $18 to $25+ We sat at the bar and provided our vax cards. Happy to help. I did Bacon and waffles and that was very fresh and ample bacon. Wife did the quice of the day which comes with a nice little side salad and was much larger than she thought. That made it home for leftovers. They were a little short staffed today which caused some small logistic delays, but their positive attitude made up for that. Very nice option if you're in the Hell's kitchen area.

Yelp
Good food and service. Had the mushroom ravioli - it was really good. Others had the salmon and enjoyed it. Good desserts and a good selection of wine.

Yelp
I went to Blue Seafood Bar (9th Ave Blue) at 856 9th Avenue, Manhattan, for the first time tonight. I was happily surprised by their mixed drinks and a few appetizers we had ordered. The Salmon Cerviche was heavenly. Server Moiza was friendly and expeditious. He took pride in serving his tables in a commendable fashion. We conversed with a lovely couple and petted their cute dog Michu. Lots of positive energy on display. The evening all around was a success and I intend to come back much more often.
google avatar

Aelita P.

Yelp
The food here was GREAT: the oysters, seafood risotto, clam linguini, chocolate lava cake--all excellent! The only bad thing was that service was incredibly slow and at times nowhere to be found (not the fault of the servers, it just seems like they might have been understaffed.) I don't remember exactly how long it took, but it was ages even to get oysters. Also it seems like they do complimentary bread but, despite the long wait, we were never offered any (I didn't even realize they gave bread until, at the end of our meal, the table next to us asked about bread, and then I noticed another table with the same bread basket. It wasn't on the menu so definitely not something people were ordering and paying for.) then it was another very very long wait for our entrees. I'm giving this place four stars because, wait aside, the food really is fantastic. I'll definitely be back (I'll just arrive slightly less hungry and ask for bread!)
google avatar

Terita M.

Yelp
What a lovely experience. The food was incredible and the service was top notch. Everyone who raved about how great Gabriella is was correct. I had the squid ink risotto and coffee crème brûlée. All excellent.

Yelp
Came here after the Broadway show. We had a great seafood dinner. Seafood tower and seafood patter, omg, all I can say that we were stuffed. The waitress was nice and fast, no wait time since we came late but still you should make your reservation, I can see this place is very popular during the day. There is also a great bar area.
google avatar

Esther A.

Yelp
I had finished an audition at the Broadway comedy club and wanted some seafood and champagne. Gabriella was our server and she made our experience complete. We had 2 of each of the oysters the special of the lobster roll and shared the mix seafood all great choices then ended with a Nutella mousse and espresso martini. Can't wait to return absolutely a great choice to celebrate
google avatar

Yvonne M.

Yelp
Amazing service, the friendliest staff ever, I felt so warm and welcomed! Came here to celebrate an early Mother's Day brunch, all the food that came out was delicious! My favorite was the fish & chips and lobster Benedict highly recommended, can't wait to come back again!
google avatar

Chad S.

Yelp
We had an amazing experience here both in terms of service and food. The west coast oysters we had; which have become much more elusive to find in the covid era, we fantastic. This will definitely rank as a new go-to seafood spot for us and is worth the ride from wherever you live.
google avatar

Vicky R.

Yelp
I came here for happy hour on a weekday. Their deals are pretty solid, which included $1 oysters, and $4 sparkling wine with a dozen oysters. We opted to share a bruschetta trio which was delicious. They definitely did not skimp on the toppings. Highly recommend getting the trio to share! The oysters were also pretty good. My biggest gripe is how long it took for them to come out. We ordered them when we sat down and didn't get them until we were almost ready to leave. They even came after the bruschetta, which we had ordered around 30 minutes after we arrived. Not sure if it was just an off day or if they always take this long but be prepared to wait just in case!

Carol C.

Yelp
Hit the spot pre-theater with a mixed age group. Great service, tasty oysters. Ambiance was vibrant without being too noisy.
google avatar

Fred Q.

Yelp
Great food, nice presentation and traditional seafood flavors done well. Super packed for dinner service on weekends.

Yelp
Blue Seafood bar in NYC is the best, stopped there for happy hour and $1 oysters - does it get any better than this? Try it. Staff was friendly, patrons where nice. Added to our very pleasant NYC visit.
google avatar

Minna C.

Yelp
Perfect place for boozy brunch in the city! They have a bottomless brunch option with a wide selection of food for those that are interested, but also regular brunch for those who aren't interested in drinking.y friends and I opted for regular brunch and got the steak and eggs, frittata, and pancetta eggs Benedict. Food came out in a timely manner and had decent portion sizes. Service was amazing! Can't wait to come back for happy hour and dinner!

Yelp
Look, if you love seafood and you love a great bar with great atmosphere, then this is a must. Enough said. Definite visit over and over.

Yelp
Tonight was our fourth time coming here, and tonight will be our last tine. I don't know if it was the manager or the owner who was at the door, but really he should be kept away from where the adults are. So we make our reservation on the early side, 5:00, and are excited to be getting a night out this week, as we've both been putting in long hours with the nonprofit. We are long over due for. date night. One of the reasons I chose Blue was the happy hour oysters. But, we were really there for a romantic date night. Now the place is almost entirely empty. And it's doubtful that I'm the next 45 minutes they're going to be full. So we asked to sit at a table, like big kids do. I explained its date night, but I'd really like to get the oysters, but that we are here for a full meal. He tells us that it doesn't matter what else we are ordering, we would have to have our romantic date night sitting at their teeny tiny bar, staring at booze even though we don't drink. The other option was to sit at the bar hightop, which we did, and they are the most uncomfortable chairs I've ever sat in. Who can enjoy a meal that way, or date night. More importantly, who wants to pay hundreds of dollars for dinner forced to sit in uncomfortable chairs at a bar at a completely and utterly empty restaurant. FYI, I asked one of the guys working if they are usually busy st this tone, and he said no. But the rude, dismissive treatment is inexcusable. On our way to Crave Fishbar where they know how to treat customers, and serve oysters at the big kids tables.

Yelp
Blue is one of the nicer dining options in the area. I came in for a pre-theater nosh on a Friday evening and at 6pm it wasn't busy, but an hour later it was starting to fill up. The food is pretty pricey for what you get but we still enjoyed it. My fiance and I shared the meat and cheese platter and the grilled octopus tapas plate, as well as some wine. The octopus was good, the meat and cheese was a bit of a rip off for what you get. The service was excellent and the ambiance is also very nice. If this were anywhere else in Manhattan I'd give it 3 stars, but in this awkward Hell's Kitchen area with limited options, Blue stands out.

Alfonso S.

Yelp
Amazing quality sea food loved every bite and wine. Gabriella was amazing thank you for the service I had a great experience. Highly recommend

Yelp
Lovely little bar and restaurant in Hell's Kitchen. Beautiful decorations and great place to come wind down after work. This is one of the go to spots for my co workers and I to have a drink or two after work. The service is friendly and atmosphere is nice and classy without being too stuffy. The bar the front is very cute and good for a quick drink or catch up with friends, while the dining area is good for a small intimate lunch or dinner. Most of the time my coworkers and I sit at the bar ordering a few glasses of wine and maybe one or two dishes. On our last special occasion where some one was leaving permanently ( sniff sniff so sad) we had dinner here. We had around 6 people and we all ordered their course meal. I believe there was 2 options where it was a 3 or 4 course meal. We all chose the smaller course that included appetizer , entree, and dessert. All the items were yummy and we had a great time. I wasnt able to take much pictures due to lighting and the nature of the event, but it is definitely a cute place to have dinner. It is on the pricier side but won't destroy your wallet either ;)

Yelp
I loved the oysters that I received! They all tasted amazing. I sampled one of each. All very fresh and tasty. Would have given 5 stars had six oysters not cost me $22. I can't say the six were worth it. Will be trying another dish here another time since the food was good. Just would have liked a little more "bang for my buck." Filet mignon isn't priced bad; that'll be my next order. Order came quickly too! Happy about that. UPDATE : ordered the "filet mignon." Very disappointing!! Not worth $18!! Had okay flavor, but small amount for the price. And they loaded order with bread slices to make up for it I guess.

Mike K.

Yelp
This place is AWESOME. Great vibe. Great bartender (Matt), and the food is delicious. Definitely coming back!
google avatar

Becky V.

Yelp
Nice ambiance and great appetizers. For appetizers, I had the oysters, tuna tartare and tricolore salad. My entrée was over cooked on the ends and too pink on the inside. I requested medium well. I had the angus beef strip loin steak. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. I'll revisit this restaurant and try another dish.

Mandy G.

Yelp
We came in for a Saturday night. The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. The food was fresh and delicious. The seafood tower was fun and so fresh! Would definitely recommend this spot!

Matt T.

Yelp
We ate here the day before Christmas. Food was great. But beware the happy hour menu is apparently for those seated at the bar only. We got special dispensation to get happy hour pricing at a table. But we thoroughly enjoyed our pasta and seafood!
