while parking is challenging, i would recommend this place. i got a london fog and a raspberry mocha and both were very good. the pastries in the pastry case looked good. quiet, good for working and studying. kind service.

The guy at the counter today was so friendly and attentive to everyone. He even seemed to be working alone at one point while I was in the café. He was super kind and patient with everyone’s order. I’ll definitely be back for the great customer service and, of course, the amazing London fog teas.

Decided to drive up to Cleveland, Ohio & check out Little Italy. I was in the mood for a good cup Of coffee and found The Blue Sky Brew. Parking was a challenge, street parking only, not a lot of spots. I will say that this place is very popular, a slight wait in line before we were able to order. The staff was very friendly & pleasant, I always like that. I ordered my go to the expresso cappuccino & Big Chocolate Chip Cookie. I swear if the coffee shop you’re in doesn’t have the big chocolate chip cookie…. You messed up. I was lucky on this Sunday morning, I got the last table in the cafe. It’s definitely a cozy little Cafè, it has tables & a counter you can sit at. The Cafè is near the Case Western Reserve college campus, so lots of young students here on their laptops & reading books. It was a very relaxed atmosphere which made enjoying my coffee & cookie easy. I really enjoyed my experience here, I will definitely be returning for my coffee & cookies. I strongly recommend you stop here and give this place a try.

NOTE: I was here for morning coffee, this review does not apply to the beer side of the business! Haven't tried that yet Coffee was 5 stars, pastry more like 3 (a bit dry, but I will need to sample many more to be sure! 🙂). Service great, good attitude (none of the usual "I hate being a barista but I need the money" vibe). Very spacious inside so I didn't feel like a jerk taking up scarce table space. Very nice!

Google
The coffee here is excellent, and I highly recommend taking a look at the specials board. The baristas clearly have a creative touch, offering some intriguing menu items you won't find elsewhere.

My family and I just went to Blue Sky Brews for the first time today and it was great! Our coffee and pastry were delicious. The sights and sounds of students studying and friends conversing added to the ambience.

Google
The cutest coffee shop in Little Italy! Tried the Pistachio Matcha Latte & Toasted Marshmallow Chai with espresso. Both drinks were amazing! This coffee shop is huge and quiet enough to do some studying. They also have a bar which was cool!

Leon D.

Google
Cool coffee shop that also serves beer! This used to be a Rising Star coffee so it must of been convenient to switch ownership. The lattes were made very well and the vibe of this place is really cool. They play random funky music and is a great place to chill. There is also more seating in the back patio when the weather is nice. I can only imagine how packed this place gets during the weekends. They also serve pastries from Heartwood Coffee. This is a great option if you’re looking for quality coffee or brews!

Yelp
This was our second visit to Blue Sky Brews. We stopped in as we were walking around looking at gardens. It is a nice relaxing spot to enjoy a coffee. It was nice to see the pretty flower box out front. Blue sky has plenty of seating. Including some outside seating. The pastry case was filled and the coffee was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. As with most of Little Italy parking is on the street. Parking can be tricky during peak times.

Yelp
I learned about Blue Sky Brews from a barista. If a barista recommends a coffee shop, it's a must visit! I finally visited this morning. I was very pleased with my experience! Blue Sky Brews is a very interesting concept, one-of-a-kind in our city. They offer various brews - coffee and beer! I asked when the transition happens! You can drink either whenever, most customers start with the brews at 11 AM. Beer menu is pretty impressive including local favorites like Immigrant Son Brewery. This cafe is a juxtaposition of industrial brick and chic, airy cafe. There's quite a few tables and quiet atmosphere. There were many guests working from the cafe. The seating is available at tables or a bar. Open hours are very customer-friendly. They're open 'til 8 which is considerably better than other nearby cafes that close at about 3 PM. Parking in the area is always a challenge, but 15 minute parking right by the cafe was very convenient for a quick stop. Service is pretty great! I ordered coffee - drip coffee (very smooth!) and pour over (light roast, more bold and flavor forward). Coffee is from Heartwood Roasters which recently won awards from the Cleveland Magazine. Drip coffee took a few minutes to prepare but that's because coffee is art. Both coffees were pretty good. I also purchased Unger's raspberry roll. It tastes like a very fresh Russian tea cake. The filling is unreal, so flavorful, and tastes like fresh berries. Aside from my order, there were options to get other more elaborate coffee drinks, pastries, and a little cooler with goodies. I would have loved if breakfast sandwiches were on the menu. I was really craving something savory but nothing appealed to my savory palette. There are not breakfast sandwiches. The shop also sells local art, merch, and coffee. Next time I'll work from home from this cafe! And leaving the best for last, the cafe is dog-friendly! And has free dog treats! I met a very cute dog while waiting for coffee which absolutely made my day!

Yelp
Staff were great even when it was busy. The ambience and drinks were spot on. We will revisit as we walk around Little Italy.

Yelp
Great spot. Industrial vibes, but make it cozy. The staff was really friendly and seemed to know a lot of people who came in. Coffee was good and they offer a free refill when you stay in, which is always nice. There were some appealing pastries on display but we didn't go for it. They also serve beer, so it's a great Friday at 3pm WFH spot to transition into the weekend. Will go back for the vibes.

Yelp
Great coffee spot in Little Italy! We stopped in for some pre-dinner caffeine at around 5pm on Saturday and there were plenty of people inside studying/working/hanging out. The barista who took our orders was really friendly and kind. The vibe inside is chill and I think it would be a good spot to stay for a while and get some work done. I went for one of their spring specials - a rose cardamom latte - and it was excellent. Not too strong of a rose flavor and paired with the oat milk I opted for it was perfect. My husband ordered a lavender latte that he enjoyed as well. I would definitely come back! Thank you, Blue Sky Brews :)

Yelp
I can't totally knock Blue Sky because my disappointment lies solely with Heartwood's bad baked goods which are carried in multitudes by Blue Sky. I've tried everything Heartwood sells there except the really dry looking breads at this point, and every single product without exception is unbelievably chokingly dry. The breakfast cookie was inedible without a large gulp of water with each nibble and impossible to finish due to its dry almost scone like density. The cinnamon muffin had a great exterior with a bit of crunch and plenty of cinnamon-sugar, but the inside was dry as a bone! It was literally like trying to eat a cotton ball but really dense. No moisture almost at all. The chai molasses cookie had a central small core of moist normal cookie. 80% of the cookie- everything except the dead center- was dry and lacked flavor that would be carried well by some moisture at all. This cookie still took a sip of water in between every bite except for the core and I gave up due to the bland dryness that surrounded the middle. So disappointing. I decided to return to try these baked goods because it had been over a year since I learned my lesson last time. Nope, still bone dry and avoidable. I wish Blue Sky carried better baked goods alongside Edwin's food.

Yelp
This is a super small and cute coffee shop located at the edge of Little Italy. Because this is near my office, I often come for a walk and a coffee break. The inside has a lot of nice lighting and tables to sit and chat or get some work done (free wi-fi!). There are also a couple small tables outside if you prefer the fresh air. I'm a fan of their drinks, as I frequently order their iced lattes or iced americanos. I have ordered their scones a couple times, and while it satisfies my hunger, they do tend to be a bit hard and crumbly. Overall, the snacks are ok but the drinks and vibe are phenomenal and worth it.
google avatar

Safia S.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop. The matcha latte with cardamom was ok, not the best I've had. The spinach scone also left much to be desired. The highlight was a gluten free peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Came with my wife to have a cuppa and scone. Was inundated by one patron with two huge dogs who just let them roam the place annoying everyone and barking. The staff did nothing. Unbelievable.

Yelp
Dog friendly cafe serving coffee and pastries in the morning and beer in the evening. The space transitions well from day to night :) The staff is always really warm and friendly, but most importantly they serve the best cortados in Cleveland, according to my husband (who tries his favorite drink every place we go). Convenient to Little Italy for shopping and dinner, and also to campus for those who have business or studying to do at CWRU.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent dark roast, full flavor, not bitter, could be touch hotter from vacuum container. Big moist walnut banana bread. Great ace to work on laptop. Ample street parking on a Saturday morning.

Yelp
I love working/studying in coffee shops, so I came to Blue Sky Brews one Saturday morning to get some work done and my coffee fix. I came in early, around 9-ish, and there were plenty of seats available. The layout is conducive for working/studying with both table and counter seating, outlets, and free Wi-Fi. There are also a few seats outside, which would be nice during the warm spring/summer days! I had an almond milk latte and sat at a table for a few hours. It started to get busy in the mid-morning, and it was a nice lively atmosphere. The staff are very cheery and personable, readily striking up conversations with customers. It was a very pleasant environment and I look forward to making more visits to Blue Sky Brews more regularly and supporting local business!

Yelp
First time here, though I think I've spent quite a bit of money for my daughter to spend some study time here. A mix of coffee house and brewery with a welcoming ambiance for this looking to hang or those looking to study. Service was friendly and helpful and the coffee is excellent, with a wide range of choices. The beer part of it is solid as well, with many options amongst bottles, cans and drafts.

Yelp
It's been a while since I was in Little Italy on Murray Hill. Met a friend here for coffee today and was super impressed. This used to be a Rising Star Coffee location. The decor is really nice with touches of modern, industrial, and lots of white to add some brightness! Exposed and painted brick throughout. Very bright and airy. The coffee, as expected, matches the mood. I had a latte and was very satisfied. Rich and creamy with attention to detail as the barista made a heart in the foam. Little touches like that go a long way. There are plenty of places to get a cup of Joe today. Please please PLEASE avoid Starbucks and spend your money in beautiful, locally owned businesses like this..especially during these trying times.

Yelp
Blue Sky Brews is so close to CWRU's campus that it is often frequented by university students. The coffee here is great and the staff is very friendly. The pastries here I think are a collab with another local bakery, and they never let me down. When they have scones, I always go for the scones. My only complaint about Blue Sky Brews is that the Wi-Fi is a hit or miss. I usually will come here prepared with work that does not require Wi-Fi. I love this coffeeshop, and if they had stronger wi-fi I would probably come here every day.
google avatar

Georgina W.

Yelp
This is the place to study and chill out. The drinks are pretty good and I recommend the matcha latte with some honey if you like a little sweetness that isn't overpowering. Unfortunately the food served during breakfast isn't my favorite and it's usually just a pastry so if you're looking for breakfast this isn't the spot. Wish they would expand their menu options
google avatar

Mike J.

Yelp
Great pour over, fair prices, great service. Very cool vibe for the shop and I love the variety of coffee or beer
google avatar

Laura F.

Yelp
What an upgrade from the previous business (phoenix coffee). The temp inside was warm and cozy. Staff very friendly. Good coffee. They have muffins and pastry but no other food. It gets pretty loud during the lunch hour but quickly quiets down around 1pm. One more reason to visit...U CAN BRING UR DOG INSIDE and stay to enjoy a cup of Joe w ur furry!
google avatar

Chandni L.

Yelp
I got an oatmilk latte with Mexican chile syrup in it. It tasted great, if not a little too spicy for a latte. I wasn't in the mood for a mocha, but I'm sure the syrup would have tasted great in it. It had a honey-chile taste, which I quite enjoyed. I do think that the price for the 12 oz cup was a bit steep, but I did enjoy it. Additionally, I wish there were more milk options other than either full fat milk for normal price and almond/oat milk for an extra dollar. However, I do appreciate that there were non dairy options, since I cannot usually stomach full fat milk. The inside was super cute, with multiple areas to sit and study or chat

Yelp
Let me start with the worst thing about trying to get a cup of coffee here ... the parking. UGH. We almost didn't get a chance to try Blue Sky because we almost gave up on finding a spot, after looping and looping and looping and looping. Parking is on-street only, most spots are marked "Permit Only", and this is a crowded area near the university and Little Italy. So be prepared to circle a long time, potentially walk a great distance, or not find a spot at all. :-( But luckily FINALLY the parking gods obliged! We were coming from the Cleveland Art Museum, looking to kill some time before the Cavs game at a cute Cleveland coffee shop. And Blue Sky Brews does live up to that expectation. It was a cold Cleveland night, but it was warm and cozy inside. There are about a half-dozen tables in the front of the shop, with bar seating all around the coffee bar too. It has a hip, bright, and comfortable vibe. And it was great that they were open until 8pm on a Saturday, as many coffee shops close early these days. I ordered a pour-over, and asked the barista to give me the most blonde-like blend they had. He was very knowledgeable about all of the options. My husband had a Red Eye, our vegan daughter had a Matcha Latte with oat milk and lavender (both oat milk and almond milk are available). And the kind baristas also prepared an off-menu hot chocolate for our tween son. All of our drinks were hot and delightful. We also each ordered a sweet from their bakery case. It is a small case on the counter, not a lot of options. But they did carry a tray's worth of vegan sweets, which was great for our vegan teen. We had a brownie, a pastry heart, an apricot danish, and a vegan chocolate cookie. All YUM. After we survived our parking woes and found a spot, Blue Sky Brews ended up being a nice place to warm up and pass some time for our fam'. Prices were reasonable for their barista-crafted beverages, definitely worth a try if you can get a spot. Fare thee well, fellow parking warriors, fare thee well! :-D

Yelp
Blue Sky is a cute, hip little coffee shop with a great vibe and a simple menu. The seating is so cute and the baristas are so friendly. I got an iced coffee and it was great and reasonably priced. I wanted so badly for this to be my new study spot because I love studying in coffee shops, but unfortunately the WiFi is really spotty at Blue Sky and although I was "connected" to it, it did not actually work the whole time I was there so I ended up hotspotting myself. All in all, not a reliable place to study, but a cute place to visit nonetheless.
google avatar

Hallie M.

Yelp
Great coffee shop near Little Italy, UH, and Case. I had an iced latte, which was very good and enjoyed it at one of their tables outside. Will be back when in the area!
google avatar

Yelp
Good coffee shop: -One cup size for all drinks -Interesting latte flavors like Mexican Chile (great) -No dark roast drip option (medium was good though) -Nice staff

Yelp
Blue Sky Brews is THE spot. Conveniently located at CWRU and Little Italy, yet it's never been unbearably busy. I love their Chai Latte. Hot or iced, it does not miss. Their lattes are also great. Plus, they serve them in the cutest mugs and cups for dine-in. Their vibes are immaculate. So many great study/work spots: tables for 4, tables for 2, of a very spacious bar area around the barista area that is great for individuals. The bar area had outlets all around, which is super convenient. Most tables are also located near an outlet. It's a fairly quiet environment usually. The baristas usually make conversation and there's usually a loud table, but nothing that has been too distracting. Unfortunately there's not any good parking spots, just 2 or 3 right in front of the shop, all other street parking is residential only (although does anyone REALLY check?) Their hours are super convenient. Open most days until 8 pm. Sundays until 6 pm. Although once I did stop by and they were closed because of a busted water pipe haha - it happens to the best of us.

Yelp
I am a huge fan of this coffee shop near Little Italy in the east side of Cleveland! I think it might just be my new favorite spot. Their drinks are fantastic and super high quality. I thoroughly enjoyed studying here. The environment provides for a super productive space but also a space to hangout with friends. Also, the staff are very friendly and work quickly to get drinks out right away. I would highly recommend this place!! It's all street parking but I just parked by the main drag of Little Italy and walked since it was such a nice day. I will definitely be coming back!

simran s.

Yelp
Everything was wonderful and the staff was nice. Really recommend this business. :) Great coffee and hot chocolate

Yelp
This place has a super cool vibe. It was very spacious, had a little outside area, and had artwork everywhere. I got a vanilla latte and it was very good. They use Heartwood coffee. They do not have caramel flavor. The BIGGEST turn off, though, was how rude and unhelpful the worker was. I was trying to be friendly with her and she had such a scowl and then punched my order in wrong because she didn't actually take time to listen. She was just trying to get met to pay and get me out of her hair as fast as she could. I'm not sure why because there was no one else in line. She will be the reason I never make the trip back here, unfortunately.

Otis B.

Yelp
Excellent service and I loved the mint tea medley. I also enjoyed the coffee crumb cake.
google avatar

Ian A.

Yelp
I was here once before but was in such a hurry I didn't have a chance to truly enjoy the atmosphere and craft of this wonderful spot. I came in last week to really take it all in, and I was not disappointed. The prices of this place are some of he best in Cleveland, especially in this area of Cleveland. I love to brew my own espresso, but I can never seem to get it right. I asked the barista how they make cortados, and he let me watch him make it and explained it to me. It was such an incredibly strong drink that I absolutely loved, and I cannot wait to come again to get my favorite drink. Absolutely worth the trip.
google avatar

Jasmine C.

Yelp
reasonably priced cafe. very cute decor, clean, good decor with lots of natural lighting and outlets. Great for spending a few productive hours. staff is also super friendly and helpful one complaint is the coffee. Not bad but not my cup of tea (or coffee here i guess :))
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent coffee shop. This was my first visit to Blue Sky Brews and I knew nothing about it before visiting. Blue Sky Brews was serving coffee from Heartwood Coffee Roasters at the time of my visit. I ordered my go to drinks: cortado and pour over. My visit happened during the pandemic so it made sense that they were not serving pour over coffee and I had to order a drip brew. I was totally shocked by how good the drip brew tasted! I've been to Heartwood many times and have bought several bags of coffee from them. This coffee was the best tasting brew of Heartwood Coffee I've ever had. I think they made it taste better than Heartwood! Ironic, huh? The cortado was excellent as well. I love the cortado because I get the silky smooth milk flavor equally mixed and never overshadowing the flavor of the espresso. They work well together in the cortado. And the espresso shined in my cortado. This doesn't surprise me seeing they have a sweet Slayer espresso machine and the drip coffee was amazing, but even if you have the best equipment doesn't mean what comes out will be as amazing. You also have to have skilled baristas. It seems like they have some excellent baristas on staff. The staff were very friendly and outgoing and pleasant to talk to. The inside. The tables and chairs were comfortable. I noticed many folks lingering or working on their computer. The music was sort of loud. I wish I could have witness the staff cleaning the tables and chairs after each use due to the current pandemic. Their was a sign on the door telling guests that masks are required for entrance due to state regulations. Tables were 6 feet apart. Staff wore masks. The menu is a traditional Thirdwave Coffee shop menu with the usual small menu selection. So don't expect exotic or sugary coffee drinks. If you're in Little Italy and need
google avatar

Sameed M.

Yelp
Found this coffee shop in little Italy on my way to work. Oh my the smell of espresso just was rejuvenating. Great barista, excellent burr grinders great shot of espresso. Latte tastes very good (they forgot my vanilla flavour) but that's ok Would return for some great espresso and cafe environment
google avatar

Blanche K.

Yelp
enjoyed studying here! chairs are comfy, outlets abundant around the bar seating, extension cords available by the larger tables, and WiFi! add a nice cup of caffeine in tea or espresso form and u have everything u need for a great study sesh! the place was well heated on a 20 degree day, but still dress warm! drinks ~4-5$, flavored syrups +1$! (Lavender, Mexican Chile to name some special ones that caught my eye!)
google avatar

Andrew M.

Yelp
Blue sky brews is a wonderful coffee shop at Rising Stars old location in little Italy. The workers are always friendly, and really know their coffee. Along with this, the roaster they partnered with (Heartwood Roasters our of Chagrin Falls) provide something excellent coffee beans. It's a great atmosphere to sit with some friends over coffee, or to sit down and study at. In the future, at least from what I understood, the place will double as a bar, although that won't be for a little while (I think September/October). Either way, go in for some great coffee and friendly service!
google avatar

Clare D.

Yelp
Since writing my previous review I have returned to Blue Sky Brews a few times and the music and vibe was a lot more chill than it had been the first time I went. Definitely was way more studying-friendly! This cafe can get pretty full on the weekends with students studying, but it contributes to a really vibrant, college-town kind of environment. I could sit in this cafe for hours, reading the paper, studying, or chatting! They serve vegan pastries made by another local business and offer awesome flavored syrups (the lavender syrup is amazing) that they precisely measure out to ensure consistency in flavor each time. The baristas are extremely kind and provide amazing service. This place passes the vibe check for sure.
google avatar

Asheritah C.

Yelp
The vibe is hip and the coffee delicious. I ordered a cappuccino with a shot of vanilla syrup, and I was surprised by the notes of caramel and allspice. Will definitely be back again!
google avatar

ABhorses B.

Yelp
Nice cafe to do work in. Coffee and tea selection were great - I had a Lavender Iced Tea and it was quite good. Not somewhere to get lunch - the only food options were pastries. However, would be a great place to do work from.
google avatar

KayLyn G.

Yelp
Loved the atmosphere at this place. I got the iced mocha and it was very chocolate-forward. I loved the atmosphere and would've loved to stay longer but the WiFi was out. I will definitely be back to try something different next time.
google avatar

Emily J.

Yelp
I'm SO glad I stopped in. Parking was a nightmare but hey, it's little Italy. What do you expect? There was one barista on the floor, and he did an amazing job of politely taking our order, then very quickly getting our drinks without sacrificing quality. The latte was delicious- the texture was so buttery and creamy, and the overall vibe of this place is so nice. There's indoor and outdoor seating currently, but I for sure recommend enjoying your drinks outside if you can. It adds to the fantasy of enjoying a coffee on a cute trattoria in Italy. Keep it up guys :)

Yelp
What a great shop and a great cup of coffee. I live just up the hill from Little Italy so I decided I would try this new(ish) local coffee place this morning, and it did not disappoint. The vibe of the cafe was great, and it looked like a great place to study (evidence: I saw another med student sitting in the corner and watching lecture as I got my coffee). They have really cool artwork all throughout the space and the music created a serene ambiance. The owner/barista was super nice and we chatted a bit about their offerings and how they've been during the pandemic. They have really limited hours right now, but they just hired another barista, so their hours should get back to normal soon. The coffee itself was also great - they can make any of their drinks iced, which is great for the summer, and you can add a variety of flavors to any drink, such as vanilla, lavender, cardamom, etc. A vanilla latte (16oz) only set me back $4.5, which was nice compared to other local coffee shops I know that charge more. Next time I'll try the "golden latte," which is a decaf option to a latte which has a variety of spices. Overall, I was very impressed and am excited that I live so close to such a great local establishment!
google avatar

Katie F.

Yelp
Stopped into blue sky brews as another stop on my Hartzler coffee tour. A very third-wave vibe -- a small menu, brewing heartwood roasters in some pour overs, with their syrups coming from a small-batch source. I had a Mexican chili mocha. While I wish I would have tried a traditional mocha, to be frank, the Mexican chili added a unique touch. There were a good amount of people working (while masked) in the patron areas/tables/bar. It's definitely a place I would come to do some work in the future. I would guarantee another visit when I'm in the neighborhood!

Yelp
The staff is so friendly at Blue Sky Blues and the work environment is immaculate. The drinks are amazing, too! Their iced matcha and iced chai lattes are my favorite. The cold brew is definitely more on the bitter side. They have the best blueberry scones in town, too!!

Shelly A.

Yelp
Nice place to come during studying! The staff is kind but not very attentive. You must go to the counter and order. If you are at the bar they will not service you. If you run out of the drink you must flag someone down to get another one. Even if it is clear that you have been done drinking and need a refill. The snacks are very delicious! The coffee and tea is amazing! Parking is terrible so you may need to walk a bit. Over all good. Also the wifi is very shotty. Sometimes work but usually web pages say error

Ema A.

Yelp
i'm currently visiting cleveland for the first time and when i'm traveling i love to try local coffee shops. blue sky brews is the best around, i've come back 3 times this week and tried something different each time. the baristas are super cool, the espresso drinks are unbeatable, and the environment is such a vibe. can't recommend this place enough.

Jose C.

Yelp
The service is excellent and an absolutely wonderful local vibe. Desfruta with family and friends

Jk A.

Yelp
Good espresso and pastries, lots of music photos on the wall, modern décor located on a brick street in little Italy

Rosy Q.

Yelp
Love this place. I vouch for their pour over coffee (available only on weekends), lattes, and iced coffees. A great place to study and get some work done with a ton of outlets at their bar top! I always feel welcome and I stay for hours at a time every time I visit. The only potential issue is the parking as they only have 15 minute street parking up front and no parking lot.
google avatar

Yelp
Great coffee but can someone please explain to me how a cafe doesn't sell food? They only have the mini Belgian waffles that they sell at the airport and a few sad Costco looking pastries.
