A hidden little gem, took us a minute to find it tucked away on main high street. Very friendly staff, extremely welcoming. There is this Brazilian / Jamaican theme going on and food seems to be inspired with this in mind too. Any restaurant you go to where you can see them cooking your food from fresh only gives you confidence that you will get something worth the wait. Extremely tasty food! Full of flavour, really really very good.

How wonderful was it to discover this place having been told by a lovely and funny local lady in the car park that there was nowhere worth visiting. (She had a white car with purple trims if you know her...tell her about this place please). We got chatting with the manager and loved the stories he told us about the owner and how he creates these wonderful dishes and the decor on the alleyway approaching the taproom and unisex toilets (very quirky). I delighted in a Bibimbap with chicken whilst hubby had a burger and some potatoes that were on the specials board. We both relished each dish with much delight. Not enthralled with Bangor itself but would certainly go back just to eat here again. Highly recommended.

Google
10/10 experience here, pink lemonade and dandelion and burdock drinks were brilliant. Great amount of vegetarian options, sesame loaded chips are gorgeous as well as the hummus and pita bread. Definitely will go back!

Fantastic little hidden cafe, staff were amazing, super helpful and super friendly, very large selection of craft beer with some imports and a varied food menu. I had a burger with mushrooms and dirty fries which was magnificent, my partner had a Veggie Buddha bowl which looked amazing too. Good choice for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Prices very reasonable and made to feel very welcome, facilities nice and clean and a lovely relaxed atmosphere, a definite must try if in the area. Top notch 👌

What a cracking wee place! First time I’ve been to this Bangor before and I think this must be the best place in town! Fantastic keg selection and a fully stacked fridge and dog friendly… the food was also really good. I enjoyed the burger which was delicious! This place was super busy so I would recommend booking. We were lucky to get in without a booking! I had a good chat with who I think was the owner who had good beer knowledge. A must visit if you go to Bangor!

Rarely write reviews but had to for this one. I've had a lot of cooked breakfasts in my time and this was genuinely the best I've ever had - yes I've basically wrote an essay about a breakfast. The service was friendly and prompt with food arriving quickly. The bacon and sausages are sourced from a local butchers with the thick cut bacon being maple cured (was that good had to ask where it was from) Beans all home made and a nice difference to regular tinned Heinz with them being sweet and well seasoned, egg cooked well with yolk runny. Also comes with white and black pudding which is nice touch. The food very well seasoned and tasted great which didn't need lashings of additional salt and pepper like other cooked breakfasts you get. Wish I took a picture but genuinely 5 stars. Deserves the 4.8 rating and if anything should be even higher. With the lack of good food in Bangor this one you can't miss. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
We stopped a local on the street and asked for a recommendation for breakfast. She suggested Blue Sky Cafe and it was exactly what we were looking for. You might have difficulty finding Blue Sky (no pun intended) as the sign is small and the establishment is set back through a short walkway. There are two floors with the upstairs being the main level so go up there for most tables. Service was immediate and friendly. Today I ordered the waffle. It was delightful but I could have used a few more bites. My partner ordered the avocado toast (Avo Smash) and said it was the best avocado toast she's ever had and she's frequently ordered similar dishes. I have a feeling that we'll be back.

Yelp
This was the highlight of our stay in Bangor! Don't miss the tunnel off the street that leads to this wonderful cafe. There is seating on the ground floor, but we preferred the larger space upstairs. The service was friendly and quick and the food, well, I had the best avocado toast I've ever had. A definite must if you're visiting Bangor.

Yelp
APPAULINGLY EXPENSIVE for a self-service cafe! Food is yuk - I had humous with so much chilli I could hardly breathe! Waitresses very arrogant; no atmosphere - we had a couple of sandwiches, some cake, and dips and the bill was nearly £30! AVOID!

Yelp
Nice atmosphere, a good attractive cafe but... it's not cheap and... watch out when asked the question 'would you like cream with that' ...because what they mean is 'would you like to pay an extra £1 ontop of that expensive cake?'. 3 stars for the place, -2 for the ripped off feeling

Yelp
Had both ends of the scale with this place. Got a take away soup from here for £4(!!!!!) which was so spicy it was unbearable bread was nice though. And I have also been in for lunch and had really good food with amazing cake to finish! Shame you need to remortgage your house to afford lunch and the waitress was so miserable, I was worried a close family member might have died the same morning. £2.45 for a scone really?!

Yelp
Best place to go for lunch in Bangor! Food is excellent quality, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Understandably it's always busy but the service is still quick and if you have to wait for a table it's worth the wait

Yelp
The only downside to Blue Sky Cafe is that it is incredibly small and there is limited seating. If you don't plan your time correctly, you will not find a seat for about 2 hours. It is slightly pricey but the food is good enough. I usually just go for a hot drink and do some people-watching while reading. If you arrive with a stuffy attitude, then you will receive that same attitude back. If you arrive with a smile, you'll get a smile back. Simple as that.

Yelp
This is the new cafe that has opened up where Java used to be. They've raised the roof, put in velux windows, and have done a great job of renovating the rest of it. I had an organic free range full Welsh breakfast and it was excellent. Hooray!

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous food made from local fresh ingredients. Was one of the best cafe experiences I've had as a veggie. Getting hungry just thinking about it. Not the best place to go on a budget, but much nicer than the equivalent food you'd get in a country pub for the same price.

Yelp
What is it about cafes that advertise breakfast and then tell you that you are 'too late'. Do Chefs loose the ability to put egg and bacon on a plate after 11.30am but can offer you egg and bacon on a bap at any time. Went in last week, the place was half empty, they told me I could not have the advertised breakfast. As I turned around to leave the waitress came after me to tell me I could have a breakfast bap instead. I obviously left without taking up their ludicrous offer. Nice to see they can afford to turn away customers. Found another nice cafe down the side road by WH Smiths.

Yelp
A truly wonderful experience. Terrific food, perfect service and great setting. Child friendly. The words that spring to mind are "You get what you pay for". A credit to Bangor High street, the staff and owner.
