Blue Spring State Park is one of our must-do stops every single time we come to Florida... especially when the temperature drops and the manatees roll in like they own the place. The water is crystal clear, that perfect shade of blue-green, and you can literally stand there for an hour watching manatees cruise by like giant peaceful potatoes. The kids are obsessed every year.
The boardwalk trail is super easy and stroller-friendly, so it’s perfect for families, grandparents, and anyone who just wants to take a slow walk and soak it all in. We’ve seen everything from giant schools of fish to mama manatees and babies, plus the views along the river are just unreal.
It gets busy (because it’s amazing), but it’s absolutely worth the crowds. Pack patience, snacks, and your camera ....you’ll want the pictures.
If you’re in the Orlando/Daytona area in the winter months, this is hands down the best place to see manatees up close without needing a boat.
We’ll keep coming back year after year. 💙🌿🐢
