Highlights

BlueTaco - blue corn becomes blue tortillas At our Blågardsgade location. There are many types of corn, including purple, green, yellow, and black - and, of course, blue. Our organic blue corn has 20% more protein and a lower glycemic index. It is one of the healthiest types of corn, and is naturally gluten-free. The BlueTaco concept is a twist on the Mexican taco, inspired by the rich taco culture of both North and latin America. With bright colors and eye-catching street art, our location captures the feeling of walking down a small Latin American street.

"Blue Taco is an appropriately named blue taco stand, housed in a shipping container at Reffen, often has a line out front consisting of folks willing to wait for its seasonal, gluten-free, blue-corn tortilla tacos. The chef here spent years traveling and working in kitchens throughout Latin America, combining his training with his own culinary point of view. His time in Oaxaca shines through the strongest, with spices, ingredients, and chocolate (for mole) imported directly from that region of Mexico. Though specific offerings change with the season, the chicken with red mole and sesame seeds is a particular hit." - Jenna Scatena

The place is very small and there are only high chairs inside it. Outside there are benches and tables, which is very nice. The Catarina bowl was very cold and tasteless. The chickpea sticks were delicious but the sauce was extremely cold. The nachos are very good, but a little bit messy with the guacamole and cheese on top. The service is fast. And the blue nachos are a differential. Didn't eat the tacos but they don't look tasty. They have cassava fries and I think you cannot find this anywhere else in Copenhagen. That's great :)

Omg!!!! Amazing! I live in Texas and these are the best Tacos I have ever eaten in my entire life! I also had there grasshoppers and they were delicious. If you are ever in Copenhagen and want to eat some amazing Mexican food this is the place to go.

Google
Very cute spot, good music, but we found the tacos to be underwhelming and not very "authentic", or perhaps they are authentic to a region in LATAM we have not been. We did the trio, but with my partner being from Mexico, and us living in California, maybe we just expected something more like Mexico. Was tough to tell which meats were what. In a city like Copenhagen, known for such amazing food, I think this could improve. Tortillas also fell apart. =(

Great blue tacos in a very authentic and beautiful mexican restaurant. Very friendly service. The taco filling was very wet, which made the consistency a little off but very very tasty and delicious.

Google
The guacamole alone is worth a visit but the shrimp taco is spot on! There isn't a lot of room inside but on a sunny summer day it's hard to find a better place to satisfy your snackatight and get a cold one. Everything is based on blue corn flour and finding flavours. IMO this place has better value, and more variety than Hija de Sánchez executued a bit more "street". Oh, and on taco Tuesdays they'll throw in an extra taco in the combo.

Google
Good selection of tacos for a vegetarian and they all tasted good - interesting and unique flavor combos but the fill, consistency and presentation was a bit clumsy. I also got the spiciest salsa which I loved - had a kick and smokiness to it.

Google
This place, and Barburrito, is the best place to get Mexican food in Copenhagen. However, Blue Taco is really bolt and they have some interesting things on the menu. E.g. cactus and pumpkin soft tacos. Will for sure come back

The Bleu Taco is small place tucked in a basement. Directly when you step into the colourful bar you are struck with the great smelling food. It is small with barstools to sit on, food you order at the counter. On a nice day you can sit outside. It all adds up to the street food feeling! The selection of vegan, vegetarian and meat is great. There is something for everyone. There are snacks, taco's and churros as dessert. I had the Smokey Smoke, Baja California and Coca Cola. All three are great and were just packed with flavour! But my favourite dish was I think the Plato de Avocado. It was creamy and crunchy, and just so well flavoured!! For me Copenhagen food was always greasy and salty, nothing special unless you could afford I've of the top restaurants. With places like the Blue Taco the flavour of the city is changing! And it is for the better 😄

Yelp
I have been on the hunt for GOOD tacos in Denmark/Copenhagen and unfortunately most places lack flavor. I tried BlueTaco at refshaleøen (Reffen), and it was the first time in Denmark I've had carne asada that actually had flavor! I was a bit skeptical about their Tinga causa again- tacos in Denmark usual dont have flavor specially the ones with chicken, but I actually liked BlueTacos tinga. Their Baja was also good so I'm very happy with my taco experience for once Update: the three tacos in blue/black tortilla were amazing! Try them in Lyngby

Yelp
Another taco place in town? Why not. Copenhagen needs more "ethnic" food and I totally agree with the new development in town. This place, tucked in the basement of Blågårdsgade smells wonderful when you step in. Blue taco? Yes, the tacos are blue, that's because of the blue corn they're making from, giving them a darker hue and make them different from any other taco places in town. The place is small and there are only small tables with benches, but that's the thing isn't it? Tacos are the kind of food you eat to go, or when the weather allowed, sit outside on the benches. We ordered the coca cola beef, the Baja california shrimp taco and the cactus veggie cheese taco. All good but I like the shrimp much better! The best part about this place is that they always have vegetarian (and a vegan) menus, that makes life easier from my vegetarian friends who are always left out when having tacos.

Yelp
We heard about this place having glutenfree tacos so we located blue taco and went for it. It's located at the beginning of blågårdsgade and When you step in you notice that the place is really small, but the interior is awesome with old postcards, bumper sticks etc all over the place. There is not many places to sit, they have few chairs and bench tables but that's what makes it cozy. You get 3 x tacos for 100kr or one for 40kr.. I went for the three and ordered pollo loco with chicken, coca cola with beef and California taco with shrimp. They were tasty and delicious.. The idea behind their name blue taco is also described on their wall ..There are different kind of colored corn and one of them is blue.. Hence; blue taco.. You can also order vegetarian tacos so vegetarians come by and try the place.. The reason why they don't get five stars is that they do not have a toilet..

Yelp
So good. Totally legit tacos. I ate so much I could hardly move for the rest of the day, and I will definitely be back. Hoping they switch up their menu every once in a while but so far so good.

Nima S.

Yelp
Best damn taco I've had! Just do yourself a favor and try them! I ate the 3 vegan tacos which where absolutely delicious!

HM T.

Yelp
We stopped in here on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. They had very tasty combinations and vegetarian options as well. The weather was nice so we were able to eat on picnic tables outside. The street is a lively area and plenty of visual interest with pretty open market produce stores, little shops, other places to eat and drink, draws a younger crowd. It's a close walk to the Queens Bridge and it's all a nice area to spend a half day strolling and relaxing.

Yelp
Super cute latin american place with authentic offerings, including some veggie and vegan options. the staff are so nice and the outdoor seating was pleasant. it was a little pricy and i would choose a different burrito next time, but i will be coming back.

Jacqueline T.

Yelp
Love this place! So many vegan and vegetarian options, and the homemade tacos are delicious wow!!! I ordered the 3 for 100 taco option, which was more then enough food, it included the coca-cola (shredded beef), the huitlacoche (Mexican truffle and cheese) and the fior de calabasa (pumpkin). I also had a bite of the cactus. All of them were amazing, but my favorite was the pumpkin taco (which I almost didn't order)! The beans, salsa verde, fried pumpkin and pumpkin seeds just were such a surprise, definitely a must try! Loved the nuts in the beef taco too, what a clever touch! Next time I think I'll have two pumpkin tacos and one cactus. Should mention that we had the chickpea sticks to start, the salsa it comes with was delicious, only wish we could also have the option to have guacamole. Come to think of it I think they should offer guacamole on the menu, it's the only thing this place is missing. Finally, went here on a Saturday night, had no problem getting a seat inside although the place is quite small only about 12 bar stools (there are benches outside with heat lamps). This is a no frills no fuss order at the counter and eat type of place. Loved it will be back again!!!

Yelp
Very nice and cozy place. I tried the vegan tacos and I really liked the two of them, the third one with the corn was a bit blunt though, sorry guys! The service was very good and the girl who took our order was very helpful and nice. A bit expensive though I think... 1 taco for 40, 3 for 100... Hmmm...

Yelp
Being a big soft-shell taco lover (really, it's the only way to have tacos, and the only thing that should be _called_ tacos... anyways) I was looking forward to trying out Blue Taco, as the latest pop-up in the line of taco shops showing up around Copenhagen. Boy, was I dissappointed - the tacos I got were the opposite of what I've come to expect from the Mexican cousine - almost completely without flavor. The contents of the taco were bland, and I mean b-l-a-n-d, to the point where you basically wanna drown yourself in the green salsa supplied along with the painfully boring meal, until you find out that the salsa is just as half-assed. The texture, I can best describe as eating a large pickled bell pepper: wet and mushy in all the wrong ways - waaaay off the familiar smooth and saucy taco-interior I've come to know and love. The tortilla - with a blue-ish or green-ish tint depending on who you ask - is about twice as thick as usual, which isn't necessarily a problem, but it just adds even more blandness, and an unfamiliar - not in a good way - gooey, doughey texture.

Mina S.

Yelp
Oh yeah!! This taqueria specializes in tortillas made from blue corn, hence the name. Although it may seem gimmicky, they know their stuff. I got the Baja California Shrimp Taco which was perfectly fried and presented beautifully. Of course I wanted to wash it down with tamarind aqua fresca to quench my homesickness. Delicous! The service was fast and friendly and I can't wait to try all of the tacos here, especially cactus. They also have a vegan taco with grilled bell pepper! And just like the taquerias in California, you cannot buy alcohol; this place is here for you to eat tacos AFTER drinking. It is too small to hang out anyway, it's more of a takeaway place.

Annai S.

Yelp
Great tacos take it coming from a Mexican! Not the typical Mexican but definitely with a really nice Latin American touch. I tried their corona chicken with caramelized onions, the California taco with shrimps coleslaw and their white maiz and red bell peppers. They were all amazing! The place is colorful, perfectly located; the owner is very nice! I really recommend it!

Helen R.

Yelp
Lovely Latin American atmosphere in there, unfortunately there is not a lot of space in there, so you should be okay with sitting outside. The staff is very friendly and (when we were there) Spanish speaking. Enjoy the churrrrrrros!

Elisabeth L.

Yelp
First of all, I want to say the tacos were not bad. As someone who eats Mexican food daily back at home, I had high expectations of this place, but I was a little disappointed when I saw how little meat and toppings were put on top of the tortilla (but they look like a work of art!) I had to eat 5 to feel satisfied. Other than that, the cactus taco was the best, and if you have the money, then get the horchata and the nachos with your order of tacos. The staff was quick to serve us but they seemed rather unfriendly. The place wasn't packed.

Amanda S.

Yelp
The tacos are small, and they lack filling. The meats are too wet, thus making the tortillas soggy. The flavors are trying, but missing the mark. It's like they've forgotten what a taco is. The price doesn't match what you get. Three teeny tacos for 100dkk or $16usd that you could get for $5usd at most US taco trucks. I wouldn't eat here again, even though it's one of a handful of gluten free restaurants. There are better options for the price.

Tom B.

Yelp
Delicious, creative, exciting street food in Copenhagen. This was perfect for our family with diverse tastes - everyone found something to love here. Great vegetarian options. Highly recommended.

Jill Q.

Yelp
I was so surprised and pleased by Blue Taco! As a vegan, Blue Taco had a lot of options and everything was super tasty! I enjoyed one Tofu Dofu, one Calabaza taco and an Avocado taco. They were all very unique! These were easily some of the best vegan tacos I've had and I come from a state that has more taco places than you can count. My friend who is gluten free and vegan also enjoyed her meal and was very pleased with the quality of the tortillas and options! On top of the food, the staff was very kind and the decor is very cute. The space is rather small, but they have a great patio if the weather is nice!

Andrea H.

Yelp
Cozy place on buzzing Blågårdsgade - a plus you can buy drinks or beers from the bars around. Go for their shrimp and vegan tacos!

Justin E.

Yelp
Wow! This is a great little taco joint that offers imaginative dishes based on traditional, Mexican ingredients (cactus, pozole, avocado, squash blossom, cilantro) and not-so-traditional ingredients (tofu, oyster mushrooms, truffles). Nearly their entire menu is gluten-free, too! Although I am not vegan, I ordered a mixed trio of their vegan tacos and was impressed! The flavors are collectively bold, but individually subtle, making eating here a tasty, layered experience. My other half had a trio of huitlacoche, pollo loco, and shrimp tacos and was equally impressed. He also had horchata to drink and generously gave me a *small* taste and it was heavenly! We also had a starter of nachos, which are house-made tortilla chips with cheese melted over them; we added the salsa from communal squeeze bottles, both of which (rojo and verde) were very good. We're big dudes and the above was a filling lunch. They're located in a fairly unremarkable part of town, but it's worth the walk. They don't have wifi, but I went there for the food, not the internet service. I would definitely return!

Jasmin S.

Yelp
Amazing tacos and great vibe, although The place is small, it has cozy outdoor seating. Would definitely recommend this place and have already been back a couple of times myself!

Paritosh 'Pat' A.

Yelp
Oh man, this is what I wss looking for, for such a long time. A legit good taco place in Copenhagen. This is a newly opened taco place on Blagardsgade, and it is amazing. They make their tacos with blue corn, which gives the tacos a unique color, and it tastes different and is a bit heavier than regular corn. You order 3 for 100 DKK and they are typically enough to fill you up. I got the 2 chicken kind, and one more with corn, and they were all excellent and flavorful. The service is quick, but the place itself is quite small with a few barstools to sit on. A good indicator of great Mexican place is the quality of their horchata and salsas - and the horchatas and salsa at this place are pretty damn good. Enjoy!

Andri G.

Yelp
Great tacos! Fair price and excellent service. The taco bowl was also good - too much garlic in the guacamole for my 1,5 year old son but I loved it.

Nancy Z.

Yelp
The cactus tacos are delicious! But the pollo loco and the chick pea were average at best. What really turned me off was the awful customer service. You're running a business, no need to be rude to your customers!

Alison K.

Yelp
As a person from Southern California, a meal from Blue Taco is a taste of home. Handmade tortillas, home-style salsa, and enough variety of options for any palette (whether a meat-eater or not). Absolutely worth a visit.

Pernille E.

Yelp
In love with this place and the nørrebro-vibes! The Music sets the mood. The horchata is amazing, and I love the fact that all ingredients are presented when served. Very sweet chef, definetly not the last time I visit this place, and I can only recommend it to others

Michelle E.

Yelp
WOW. Blue Taco you stole my heart. I LOVED the shrimp, pumpkin and chicken tings tacos. My mouth is still watering...gotta try them all. Thank goodness for more yummy Mexican coming to Copenhagen.

Olivia A.

Yelp
Delicious tacos! Tried three vegan tacos and they were just as spicy as they should be. There was extra sauces to put on the tacos as well.

Amalie L.

Yelp
I had a fantastic experience at Blue Tacos. Me and my friend went there for "Vegan Viking Week" so obviously the place was packed. The food was amazing - I had the 3 vegan tacos. Pumpkin was definitely my favourite, you have to try it whether you're vegan or not. Who knew vegan food could be this flavourful?!

Anette M.

Yelp
Quite dissapointing, the taste was boring and I did not feel that I was taken to Mexico
