We stayed here for a week through 1/4/25 and we were incredibly happy with our experience!!! We primarily booked our trip to finish our SCUBA certifications, and this location was FABULOUS! We typically stay at resorts but because we wanted to immerse ourselves in the culture, we took a gamble and we won! :) |Customer service was A+++ - they responded to all of my emails/texts prior to and during our trip. |I pre-booked a taxi transfer through the Blue Tang website and via email because I'm annoying and need to double check everything :P Pick up was from Maya Air (puddle jumper from BZE) and Isella (front desk) came with the driver to pick us up since it was after hours so that she could check us in at 9p and ensure our happiness. Wow. (Small note: if you book the taxi transfer through Blue Tang, it's a bit confusing, but you are paying Blue Tang for the taxi when you settle the bill, so you just need to tip the driver. I made the mistake of paying him for the ride from the airport and a tip, but oh well) ||The LOCATION!!!! OH MY GOODNESS! This hotel is the perfect location. A few steps and you're on the pier to Palapa Bar and Grill (they do stop serving food at 9pm so you need to go to Sandbar next door if you need to eat after a late arrival!). Our dive shop - Belize Scuba School and Family Dive Center - was a less than 5 minute walk to the south, so we didn't even need the golf cart! We also easily rented a golf cart and that was handy for checking out more of the island, but it was a busy week so parking became somewhat hard to come by, but it was under $350 for a week, so while we're not lazy folks, it did come in handy for places over a mile away. ||The room itself was nice - we had room 12, as it's one of two rooms that accommodate 4 people. It was spacious and the vaulted ceilings added to a feeling of openness. My son slept on the pullout (it was "fine") and the remaining beds were Fulls or Queens - not sure, but very small compared to sleeping on a King! I finally asked for extra pillows mid-week and slept much better after that - DON'T HESITATE TO ASK! ||Breakfast - head down for coffee and a different breakfast each day, with some fruit and hard-boiled eggs. |Towels - check out beach towels at the office, though they are closed for lunch typically|Housekeeping - wasn't consistent as far as timing, but was great! |A/C - worked GREAT!!! :) and fans too |Umbrellas - didn't know we'd need them, didn't ask until it was too late, but I saw others check them out from the front desk||There are water jugs on each floor to refill your water bottles, and there is a carafe in your fridge for refilling as well. Go up to the rooftop floor for a great view of the town.||Suggestions: because we were there for scuba diving, we had a lot of wet items so I wish there were hooks or racks or something to hang dry clothing/bathing suits. We hung our stuff out on the front railing and ended up losing a few items to the wind (one was in lost and found, woohoo!). ||Yes, there is major construction occurring next door (as of January 2025) and they start early and work 7 days per week except holidays. We used a white noise sound machine and it worked out great, so I highly recommend picking one up ($20 or less on Amazon) - heck, maybe BTI should provide them since construction noise will likely be ongoing for at least a year. ||All in all, my family (incl. 2 teenagers) loved this hotel - we felt like we were a part of local culture and felt safe and comfortable the entire time. Highly recommend!!!
