Blue Trailz Hostel & Surf Camp

Overall a great stay, the location is tough to beat as it is a short walk down the street and across it to the beach for surfing. I was able to choose from several different boards during my stay as I progressed with surfing. If there is an opportunity to include a Fish board in the rental lineup, that would be a bonus. I appreciated that the rooms and kitchen were cleaned every day, and the staff was very friendly and responsive. I met quite a few like-minded travelers, many who were also excited about surfing, which helped us bond easily.

Beautiful. Pura Vida Pure life. Everyday the chill atmosphere was enveloping. And the weather was super perfect. Warm ocean water. Great surf board deals along with the renting of the room. The room was perfect and we had a balcony with a table and chairs. The howler monkeys even visited before we left. Board rental was easy and room rental was easy. They offer clothes washing for you for $5 a bag. Wash, fold, dry and return to your room same day. The bus back to San Jose stops right in front of the hostel.

Super great stay at blue trailz hostel. Rooms are okay and cleaned every day. Bathroom for each room and air co. Kitchen outside and a lovely patio. The staff is lovely and the surf teacher is amazing (thanks Carlos ). I stayed for 5 nights and had 4 surf classes. It s a good compromis to learn. It s at 2min from beach and there is an Great place to eat next door: pico, right on the beach and pangas, a bit further towards playa grande and more pricey but amazing food Thanks for the stay

Amazing. Private room was huge, with warm showers, full kitchen, and private balcony. Free coffee and good wifi. Located across from best waves, restaurants, and brewery. Cheapest board rentals in town (11 per day if staying!) and most importantly awesome staff. They even called a local doctor and scheduled the covid test we needed to return to the US. Fantastic

Besides being located close to most popular section of the beach in Tamarindo, this was one of the cleanest hostels I have stayed at and the only one with hot water! The staff and owners there were extremely friendly and accommodating. Would recommend for sure, especially if you are here to surf.

This place is amazing, and has anything you may want or need while in Tamarindo. My friend and I did the surf and yoga camp, and the surf instructor was amazing and the yoga instructor was the best one I have taken from around the world. Highly recommend for anyone who is not wanting to party with the English gap year students nightly.

Had a great stay here. Perfect location, wide selection of surfboards to try, friendly staff, reasonable prices. Had a private room with A/C and hot water (some other places we looked at didn't have it). I would certainly stay here again.

This hostel has a really great vibe. There is a common area in front of the rooms where everyone will hang out. Great way to meet new people from around the world! It offers surf rentals and it's just a minute walk from the beach. Would highly recommend for a stay in Tamarindo.
