Blue Water Divers

What a great experience at Blue Water Divers. Friendly and extremely professional staff in a well stocked facility. A little bit old and stodgy looking, especially from the outside, but the warm, friendly and extremely professional staff more than makes up for it. I would recommend BWD to anyone looking to embark on a lifetime of adventure, or existing divers looking to hone their skills or service their equipment.

Blue Water Divers is going to be my new dive shop from now on. Although I live on Staten Island and after losing my previous dive closer to my home. I searched for a new dive shop, and was impressed enough that my son and my granddaughter took the try scuba class. Everyone that I have spoken to has been extremely helpful and passionate about their role at the shop. I am looking forward to continuing my own scuba education next month.

Unbelievable experience. David and Lorraine (and their staff) were incredibly patient, informative, and kind. I had a blast. Will definitely recommend to friends and family!

I registered my 4 year old son for swimming classes. Upon arrival they allowed my son to get in the water for less than one minute. He was so excited. Then they took him out asked me to hold him back as he had to wait for his turn for instruction. As a paying customer, I have to hold my son back while he's crying to get back in the water??? I am paying for him to be miserable and for myself struggling to calm him down??? The manager came through and explained that students do not really get 30 minutes of water time. Each instructor has up to 3 students who will each get 10 minutes of instruction. So while other students get instruction, my child has to sit out and wait. The interesting part is that my son was the only one who was asked to get out of the water. All the other children were able to stay. When I expressed my frustration, the manager explained that it's important that children learn to take turns. However, that did not apply to the other children in the pool who were not asked to wait or sit out. She then asked me to change my son back into his regular clothes so she can refund my money. Absolutely nothing is taken into account to ensure that each child and each family is satisfied with the experience. The service was nothing short of unacceptable.

I took a scuba diving lesson at Blue Water Divers. I found a very cheap Groupon deal which I decided to accept. This venue is located right on Route 17 Southbound; it can possibly be difficult to park in the lot if it is full, but one may also park on some adjacent streets. My instructor was very friendly and knowledgeable. First, I was fitted with the right scuba attire and I watched a video on scuba diving. Afterwards, my instructor taught me the body language of scuba diving and I really felt very comfortable with her advice. For about ninety (90) minutes, I truly enjoyed swimming around the pool with the scuba gear and I definitely felt like I made much progress throughout my lesson. I even had my instructor take pictures of me with a waterproof cell phone case while I was underwater! I would certainly recommend this organization to others.

My husband and I obtained our PADI certificates from here. All of the instructors really love doing what they do and they are very experienced. You can feel their passion which results in amazing classes that can help us out in different levels and options. From the indoor training to the Dutch springs, we never never disappointed with their classes. I recommend anyone - from swimming to scuba diving classes - to trust them with getting what you need to enjoy your life to its fullest extent. * during the open water dive, I had a moment of panic attack, due to low visibility and thick wet suit. An instructor stayed with me and shared his experience to calm me down. At the end, I trusted him enough to complete the course the same day.

I really wanted to love this place but the service was disappointing. I registered my child online the end of March like I was told over the phone. After registering I never received a call. After a week I called and was told they are figuring out the schedule and would give me a call back. That was the first week of April. I called again mid April and was told the same thing. It is may and I never received a call or was given any information. Really sucks and I tried to be patient from the good reviews.

Can't say enough great things about my exp at BWD. My son did their intro to scuba and the instructor was amazing. He was patient, made it fun and educational, and put safety first. We highly recommend this Dive operator.

This Shop is the best in the Northern New Jersey and New York And i have used this to get PADI Open Water SCUBA Diver Certified in 2015 and Instructor Mike Kresky was the best and it changed my life. Also have done my PADI SCUBA Refresher with this Shop from 2015-2017 as well with Divemasters David Brewer,John Oriocco, and Instructor Andy Schudent. In addition to doing my open water training dives for my PADI Open Water SCUBA Diver with this Shop at Dutch Springs in Bethlehem,PA I have done divemaster guided Dives at Dutch Springs with this Shop during the summer of 2016 and 2017 and had the opportunity to attend their pig roast event in June 2016 and still use them to this day for Dutch Springs Guided Dives,Travel Consultanting and Dive Equipment Rentals.Now I look forward to doing there Wreck Trips in New Jersey in the near future and go on their travel trips. I also brought my own Personal Snorkeling Equipment(Mask,Snorkel,Fins,Booties,Weights and Weight Belt) and PADI Open Water Diver Course Materials needed for the certification.I recommended this shop if looking to get into SCUBA Diving and Travel.Rental Gear Package for Dutch Springs Diving was a great price and it was in good work order.

It has been over 10 years since I became a certified PADI scuba diver at Blue Water Divers. Since then I have taken additional, advanced courses at their facility to further my scuba skill set. This is an excellent SCUBA training facility. I have sent several friends here to obtain their PADI open water certification and they all have become fans. Instructors are all very friendly and helpful. I consider myself lucky to have a dive shop like this so close to my home. The Facility: They have a heated dive pool on the premises for your initial pool training. If you're looking to get certified to have they offer several options to help accommodate your schedule, including the traditional Open Water Course: (two nights per week for three weeks - ~$225) and the Executive Open Water Course: one entire weekend (Saturday & Sunday ~$295). They also have a nice inventory of SCUBA equipment on premises. I highly recommend this dive shop to anyone interested in learning SCUBA!

DO NOT WASTE UR MONEY I enroll my 2 yr old grand child in the swimming program. It was mandatory to buy a swimming diaper they sell which they emphasized soooo very much, nevertheless, i never received it because it was never delivered so after complaining they refund me the money. Please DONT WASTE UR MONEY the trainer is almost never there and the other two employees are nice but they only thing they do is taking ur child from one side to the other, and thats if they take ur child cz is mainly u who takes ur child in the pool. Go to a friends pool or pay a pool membership it will be more beneficial to ur child.

I took my PADI SCUBA Diver classes with these guys. David and his staff are best. Our instructor Bill was an excellent teacher. I was going on vacation so they wrote me a referral. The instructors at the dive shop in my destination were surprised at how professional it was.They sold me the equipment. The equipment is high quality. Price was very good. I'd highly recommend this place. The advantage of this place is that they have their own swimming pool on site.

My son and I got our PADI certificates here. My son loved her scuba teacher and mine too. Great place to start learning scuba diving.

I have gone twice with BED. I only have great memories and no complaints for the way they conduct the travels. Thanks Lorraine. I will dive with you anytime and anywhere .

The staff are excellent, passionate about what they do, knowledgeable, and will do everything they can to get you the right gear. I also completed the first portion of PADI with David and it was incredibly well done, educational, and gave me a great foundation to start diving safely. Definitely recommend this as your dive shop!

Review for classes only. Great instructors and great classes. Certification out in Dutch Springs. I dare not review the rest of the shop, they service my regulators so it's best not to say anything bad :-0

I coordinated AND PAID FOR a dive off the Gypsy Blood for 25 SEP 16. I drove up to the boat (3 hour drive for me), and the boat captain told me he had cancelled the dive THE DAY BEFORE, and notified Blue Water. Blue Water never bothered to notify me or any of the other guys that were there who had also paid for the dive. I tried to contact Blue Water twice on the 26th and once on the 27th, and they don't even answer their phone. Shockingly bad customer care, and it's gonna get them a credit card dispute as well as bad reviews on every platform I can find....

I've gone to Blue Water Drivers for a multitude of different reasons. From renting a wetsuit or getting my passport photo, it has always been the simplest process. A big reason for this is because the staff has been so helpful. They have a good way of explaining things that lets you realize what you are looking for and what best fits your situation. This was the place that taught me how to scuba dive. I was a little apprehensive at first because the whole process seemed a bit complicated although it was anything but. The instructors are very patient and ease you into each new step you're finally ready to be dive certified. There's something so calming about hanging out underwater for an extended period of time. Longer than you could hold your breath. It almost reminds me of, "The Graduate." You can just the bubbles float to the surface and feel weightless. It's such a cool feeling.

Just had a birthday party for my 10year old daughter and her friends. Kids had a Blast!!! Highly recommend their staff. Dave, the trainer, was great with the kids!! Highly recommend this as a party option.

Blue Water divers rocks. Awesome people, awesome store. They are super passionate about diving and care about their customers and want to help everyone enjoy diving as much as they do. They run great dive trips and have a dive club that meets once a month to keep people in the mood even when we can't actually be in the water. I know so many people that have been certified by them, including my wife. I got my Nitrox certification from them. Dave and Lorraine and the gang are just amazing. If I could give them 10 stars I would!

Blue Water Divers is as good as it gets. I was looking to be scuba certified and had heard about this shop from a friend. I started with the intro to Scuba course in their on site pool and immediately knew that this was for me and I wanted to get certified. I purchased the executive weekend course for open water certification and shortly after injured my back and had to put my course on hold. The staff was very friend and accommodating working with me as I had to reschedule numerous times and not once did anyone give me a hard time. For the executive weekend course we had Marc as our instructor. He was very knowledgeable and worked well with the class to make sure that everyone understood each skill and was able to do it comfortably on their own. This past weekend I finally had my opportunity to do my open water certification dives at Dutch Springs with the Bill and Eddie. Bill and Eddie were very informative and supportive with the whole process and amazing to work. They also were extremely helpful with carrying my gear due to my medical limitations. I ended up buying my equipment from the shop and was pleasantly surprised when I looked online that what I paid at the shop was in alignment with online pricing if not an even better deal than I could find online. I liked the fact that I didn't feel like they were trying to upsell me on anything and were giving me their honest opinions on actual experience with the equipment I was looking at. Overall this whole process was great and I will be sticking with Blue Water Divers for all of my diving needs.

I highly recommend this dive shop if you are trying to get certified. This place has very helpful and friendly employees.

My husband and i drove from long island just because this was the only place that had reasonable prices And friendly service that was willing to help me get what i wanted. Definitely the best service for diving school/class for beginners out there. Suzanne was amazing and easy to learn from. I truly appreciate that they worked around the schedule I needed. The entire staff was so friendly. If there was anyone worth getting certified by, it would be by them.

Great place to learn scuba. If you're just a beginner, the instructor will show you a video, answer any questions, and give you a heads up of what to expect. He will then bring the class to their swimming pool, fit you into your scuba rental gear, and show you the basics of scuba. It's a lot of fun, and with proper instruction, can be a great hobby. Of course, being a retailer, he may give you the mandatory sell-up shpiel, buy something if you'd like. I would recommend this place!

My husband and I got our PADI Open Water and Advanced Open Water certifications with Blue Water (Rochelle Location). During both certifications we felt at ease with the lessons, and comfortable with the equipment. The trips out to the quarry were well organized and fun. We also bought our equipment there at very good prices. If you are looking to get a SCUBA certification, don't hesitate to go here. This place is tops and the staff is super helpful. These guys have great patience and a great sense of humor. No complaints.

I am so grateful to Blue Water Divers for their expertise and instruction in SCUBA. Everyone in the shop was extremely helpful and friendly and they took great care in helping me acquire the right equipment. They are committed to making SCUBA accessible for all people (even folks like me with handicaps); therefore, in my book, are right up there with the angels. Sandy Shaw was chief angel instructor to me and, over the course of 4 pool dives at the shop, she assessed my specific needs, suggested adaptations, and provided encouragement - ultimately leading to comfort and confidence in the water. She took great care in teaching me strategies and skills, determining exactly which skills I could perform independently and which required assistance. This prepared me well for HSA certification and our holiday vacation to Curaçao, where I enjoyed 4 remarkable open water dives (also with a handicap dive trained instructor). Kudos and appreciation to Sandy, Lorraine, and David as well as the whole Blue Water Divers community for your kindness and your commitment to enabling everyone to enjoy the wonder and beauty of our oceans.

Great dive shop if you're a resident of northern New Jersey because they are so conveniently located. My son did their "Executive" Open Water Diver course this past weekend in advance of a family trip to Costa Rica and Dave Riscinti (BWD's owner/instructor) did a great job teaching him and his classmates (class was packed). Now he's ready to complete his open water dives in Costa Rica and receive his junior PADI certification. Thanks, Dave!

Had two OTS guardian full face masks masks serviced by these guys and they were incredibly fast and responsive. Would use again!

Instructor Helen is the best! My son and I take swim lessons with her. She focuses so much on the individual and teach according to their learning capability. Always pushes to go to the next level.

I've been going to Blue Water Divers for years and they are always great. I originally got certified with them 14 years ago, and it was a really fun, safe and pleasant process the whole way through (which is awesome considering I went into the process terrified of deep water). Since getting certified, they have continued to be great at everything I go to them for - from servicing my equipment to organizing some really great trips to amazing places. The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and I always have confidence they will be able to answer any questions I come up with. I highly recommend Blue Water Divers to everyone.

I recently took the open water class with my 15 year old son. We had been wanting to do this for some time. My son was a natural and loved it. I thought I would be too but I panicked at the first class taking my mask off under water. I began to think that maybe scuba was not for me but luckily I had a wonderful instructor named Marc. Marc was great, he was extremely patient, I never felt rushed or pressured. I made it through the class, he calmed my fears and could not have asked for a better instructor!
