The location is excellent, and the hotel itself is stunning. Our room was spacious, and I really enjoyed both the indoor heated pool and the rooftop outdoor pool. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was satisfying, and the modern design of the hotel, paired with its amazing views, made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back, they’ve set a new standard for me.

A short stay with both pros and cons. Wonderful reception from the front desk person who checked us in and placed us in a great room. We worth the price. The breakfast buffet was a real treat indeed and the wait staff an absolute pleasure. Room service was a bit delayed but they were a pleasure to deal with. The delivery guys were wonderful as well. On the flip side, room service menu prices were quiet high. For the room itself the bed wasn't very comfortable. Pillows definitely required an upgrade. The duvet cover contained those white hospital blankets inside. There was some renovative work being done at the hotel during this time that we weren't advised of and was very unpleasant and distracting while we tried to work. An issue with the door led to me being locked out twice and going back and forth to reception to resolve and I was told to wait for the duty manager until I indicated I had to work. It was then a rushed request. A very pleasant duty manager who came through and resolved the issue. The aircon is set on 16 degrees and cannot be adjusted because no remotes were present. But I did request a change on the temperature which was adhered to. I requested a late check out given the disruption of the day before in order to finalize some work before I checked out which is free until 11, but payable if it's 12pm. Reception was to check with the manager but unlikely that they did because the person hesitated to answer when I asked if this was done. All in all a nice stay with great views but a big improvement required from the front desk staff. I'm still deciding if it was arrogance or laziness but it definitely needed improvement.

Great location right on Durban’s beachfront, with easy access to the promenade and restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and a varied breakfast. The pool and bar area are nice for relaxing. Parking can be limited, so check in advance. Overall, a good value stay for beach lovers.

While this hotel boasts exceptional staff and service that would normally warrant high praise, our entire experience was completely overshadowed by one fundamental failure that made our stay utterly disappointing. The staff were indeed outstanding - their attention to detail and customer service was remarkable. The breakfast service was equally impressive with attentive waiters and quality food. Our room was clean with good entertainment options, though a damaged blackout curtain disrupted our sleep by letting in unwanted morning light. However, all of these positive elements became meaningless due to the hotel’s shocking inability to provide basic sleeping comfort. The bed was rock hard, and instead of proper bedding, guests are expected to sleep under scratchy wool blankets with only sheets - no duvets whatsoever. This is absolutely unacceptable for any hotel, regardless of rating. After one miserable night, I made multiple requests to reception for a mattress topper and duvet - basic amenities any reasonable guest would expect. Despite repeated promises from the front desk, housekeeping claimed they simply don’t stock these items. When they finally responded to our urgent requests, they brought another useless itchy blanket instead of addressing our legitimate needs. The fact that this hotel cannot provide something as fundamental as a duvet is unforgivable. No amount of excellent service can compensate for sleepless nights on an uncomfortable bed with inadequate bedding. What should have been a perfect stay was completely ruined by this inexcusable oversight in basic guest comfort. 1-2 stars - Cannot recommend until they address this fundamental accommodation failure.

Stayed in room 1315 with insane views of beach and ocean. Obviously renovated because clean and functional. |Buffet breakfasts were delicious and not short of choices. Coffee excellent|Blue Dolphin many screens to watch different sports and pizzas (Italian Bunny) were exceptional (and ridiculously inexpensive- half price). |Staff extremely friendly and helpful.|Location the best in Durban!! Promenade, Beach, Surf and Suncoast.

Standard has dropped, compared to how the hotel was about 5-10 years ago!! This hotel used to be luxurious from the ground level to the rooms right at the top, but now?! How dare you repeat the same linen that was used the night before, and expect guests to feel comfortable and convinced that the room was thoroughly cleaned? Not to mention the wishy washy staff that enforce rules that somehow apply on one day and don’t apply on the next. You’re messing up BIG time, losing out on customers who have visited this hotel for many years!!! Not giving 4 star hotel in the slightest!!

What a nightmare from start to finish. My family have been coming to bluewaters for years and I decided to fly down to SA and take my parents as this was their favourite hotel. My my my what a disaster. We arrived and got the room and were met with roaches in our suite. I went to complain and was told the manager will contact me he is in a meeting. Did he contact me? No. I had to chase him up as there was no way I was staying in a roach infested room. The bathroom was dirty the room was not cleaned well at all. No wonder the roaches booked the room for themselves. The manager never once came out to apologise. Instead we’re told we are being moved. A porter will come soon. We met the porter by the hotel room door impatient as ever and we had to do his job for him. We moved rooms the new room we didn’t have a single towel or water or glasses and a bag of ours was left behind filled with medication and miscellaneous items. We went to search for said bag as we knew the location. It was no longer there. No one saw it ,it must have been carried away by the roaches because a bag doesn’t disappear. The food was horrible. The breakfast was nasty. Cutlery wasn’t cleaned on the tables. The salt shakers all didn’t have salt. The ingredients used were horrid. The cheese in the omelette was so over processed. The sausages under cooked. There were so many people but they didn’t both to open up another station for food or top things up. The staff is in serious need to training. The cleaners need a session of how to clean properly and the receptionist too. That was the last time I will ever set foot there. Not thing about this stay was good. And our bag is still missing
