The Blue Winds Tea Room is a must go to stop when visiting Green Gables Heritage Place and all things Lucy Maud Montgomery in Cavendish, PEI! While planning our trip to PEI, I was searching for an authentic high tea experienced inspired by the "Anne of Green Gables" author, L.M. Montgomery and found this amazing and quaint house turned Tea Room. It's run by a fellow "Anne" enthsiast, Terry... who is the sweetest woman! I emailed her to make reservations for 6 people for the time we were there. While she did not have space on the days she is open... she chose to open her tea room for our party on a day she is typically closed! Very special indeed.
Our six course high tea consisted of a tea ofnour choosing. We also had to try the delicous rasberry cordial and Terry's famous rhubarb punch. Next came our choices of tea sanwiches made on home made bread: cucumber, creamy egg salad, and ham. The next courses was a buttery shortbread and airy scone. The courses kept coming with rhubarb tart, choclate eclair, and delectable cakes. She even made a vegan scone and rasberry choclate cake for my mom! Her featured dessert, New Moon pudding, is from Montgomery's own cook book! We felt so spoiled and pampered by the end of our amazing experience. Terry is an amazing cook whose heart has been about tea experiences for the last 20+ years! You definitely do not want to miss this experience! Be sure to book a reservation!
