Blueberry Field Pancake House & Restaurant

First off, I'll preface with I patronized this establishment on Father's Day in the afternoon. That being said, there was an understandable crowd and a bit of a wait time. However, the wait time applied for those who were in smaller groups, which were seated in the restaurant side. Larger groups were easily accommodated in the adjoining banquet/private event space they opened up, which was where my party was seated. Service was friendly, quick and to the point. The environment was loud, again based on the larger parties in the space we were in. Food wise, the food was just ok for me. There was a Father's Day menu, which my dad shared was a pared down version menu as they usually have a wide variety of offerings. A special menu makes sense in light of the foot traffic and crowd management. I had the special shrimp and grits, which were good but not a traditional profile (no gravy/roux but instead doused in hot sauce- I thought that would be a drizzle but it was described as such). Get there earlier if you want to reduce wait time, especially on weekends. Parking is available but the lot fills quickly. There is other lot on the other side of the building and limited parking behind it. You can also park on the street in the neighborhood. Would go back again to see the full menu offering, and earlier to beat some of the post-church/holiday crowds.

I love coming here. I come here often. They make you feel like family. All the servers are amazing. I had Jennifer today. She was really sweet. We tried the lamb chop special. Best thing on the menu.

Amazing family restaurant and had really nice homely feeling. Their service was really good as well. Food was really tasty. I had the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict and it was amazing. The hashbrown could be tastier if they added some onions to it. Really appreciated the flavoured creamer for coffee at the table.

Clean restaurant, friendly service, fast service. We had a gyro omelette, salmon Croquettes, scrambled eggs with cheese, hash browns, and wheat toast. The food came out within 20 mins. Everything was good. The waitress was quick and checked on us and few times to make sure we were good.

Blueberry Field Restaurant in South Holland, IL: The first thing that strikes you is the openness and high ceilings. The staff was polite. The food...will definitely be filling you up! Great portions and tasty. The menu is vast with plenty of build a meal choices. I'm sure you will add this as one of your favorites.

The Empowerment Network held their 10-week promotion ceremonies here. It's a new location, everything was nice . Clean, the ambiance was great. Care was taken in the details of the decor. The food came out in a timely manner, and the wait staff and management were really great working through all the coordination of people and other meetings.

First time here. The food was amazing. The customer service was wonderful. We really enjoyed ourselves. Just be aware that there are a lot of hidden fees. All the sauces are an extra fee. Paying by credit card is an extra fee. About 20% of our bill was added fees. Won’t knock any stars off for that, just a heads up.

I ate so fast, I missed the photo. I had catfish and waffles, OMG!!! It was delicious! My friend had the Taco Salad, which was huge. It was brunch, so we had breakfast and lunch at the same time Both dishes tasted amazing and were filling. My coffee was on point, and the server understood the assignment: Coffee with cream and sugar. She provided plenty of sugar and cream. I love the space; it feels like coming home for a great meal.

It was packed in the parking lot so we were worried we would have a long wait. But not at all. We were promptly seated although the place was crowded and clearly popular with locals. We were brought water and menus quickly and our food was served fast too. my wife orders blueberry pancakes and our picture doesn't show it but there were a lot of Berrys, and they were fresh too. I ordered a Mexican style wrap (basically a breakfast burrito) which had choices of proteins from chorizo or beef taco filling. I had the taco filling. I was satisfied with the size and glad I did not order anything other than grits on the side. If your passing this way and want a hardy breakfast (there is also a lunch and dinner menu) Blueberry Field is worth consideration.

I love this place, good breakfast and service, however today I order 2 meals I ask 3 times for separate bags, I also ask for no mushrooms, seriously 3 times. First she comes out with all the stuff in one bag, after saying separate bags, I get home after dropping off first order, ready to eat and you know it's mushrooms on food, after spending $40 plus on 2 breakfast meals. Good help is so hard to find, and it's below zero outside, just money down the drain. Maybe if she wasn't so busy talking about her eyelashes, she would've gotten the order right.

When you talk about a business being run well this is it. There was no wait to be seated and the food came out in a timely manner. Our waitress was pleasant, patient and attentive. The service was truly very good. The food hit the spot. We had shrimp & grits, waffles, eggs and turkey bacon. Everything was very good. The star of the show was a tie between the waffles and the shrimp & grits. The waffles were soft, fluffy and a good balance of sweetness. The sauce in the shrimp & grits is something to write home about! I did have to season it a little, but it was still tasty. In addition, the biscuit served with the shrimp & grits was delicious. From the seamless service to the great food, this is a place I look forward to visiting again.

The pancakes are tough. Very small portions. The food is over priced. The waitress was very nice.

Definitely one of my top spots for breakfast near my house and there's an ihop and golden bear nearby which says a lot! Service is everything to me and our server was so attentive! She makes sure everything is perfect and checks in frequently! Will be back soon!

Our ministry decided to have it's Christmas celebration at Blueberry Field. Some in the group had never been and others had not been here in quite a while. There were 10 of us in the group. My meal came with a soup. I asked what my choices were and the waitress said chicken noodle or veggie. I took veggie. Well I guess she might have meant to say beef and veggie because there was a ton of beef in the veggie soup. That forced one person to change her soup order because she doesn't eat beef...her system can't digest it. Our food came in 4 waves. One person ordered a turkey bacon panini. There was no turkey on it so she sent it back. When it returned, she quickly discovered that all they did was throw some turkey on it. The entire sandwich was cold. She had to get the manager involved. When it came back the third time, they forgot to add the mayo. At this point, she was hungry and tired of complaining. Someone else ordered the eggs, rice, parker house sausage, and toast. Her toast came in the first wave. The second wave of food came 5 minutes later and included the rest of her meal. Well now, her toast was cold. She sent it back. When it came back in the 3rd wave, it was still cold. She had to get a manager to get her some hot toast. To add to it, the rice was cold. The person sitting next me had to get a manager because everyone had their food except her. Her meal was the 4th wave. I was half way through my meal when hers arrived. And that made no sense because she ordered fried chicken wings and fries. The same thing as someone else at our table whose meal came in the 1st wave. I would've thought they would have cooked them both together. She quickly asked for a togo box because many were finished with their meal. Her entire meal did not fit into the box so she kept out one wing to eat. So to add insult to injury, a waiter came by, took her plate which still had food on it. She wasn't finished eating. He didn't ask. He just assumed she was finished. This was our Christmas celebration. And we all agreed, we will not be returning.

Wish I tried the food, waitresses never came to my table, after 20 minutes I stopped someone and asked who my waitress was. Not til then was I helped. I'll try again another day.

Delicious fresh breakfast and lunch. Call your order in or inside dining. Reasonable prices with a clean environment. A staple in the community. Give them a try

Clean open friendly staff. Food was good but, the Corned Beef sandwich was an little salty but still good. Try it for yourself like I did and judge on your own.

Nice breakfast spot that offers a variety of breakfast selections as well as mimosas Service is fast, friendly and professional and they even have a counter for those of us solo dinners. I've enjoy both the food and ambiance during each of my. Visits.

I placed an order today through Uber eats. There wasn't an option to hold my own omelet, so I selected a veggie omelet, but only checked the boxes for what I wanted, cheese and spinach only. I got home, it wasn't accurate, so I called immediately. The manager told the cashier Mia, that since I didn't add a note it's not their fault, so there's nothing she can do. This is totally absurd, but I suppose not unexpected as to how patrons are treated in today's society. I'll never return there again, and while I don't think it'll ever matter, it would benefit the manager to do what's right and not stand on principle to just be right. I'll certainly encourage people in my sphere of influence to travel to Orland for a better meal and experience at better restaurants.

I hosted my daughter's surprise party brunch at Blueberry Field and the food was delicious! The owner and staff were amazing and assisted me with the set up. My 40-plus guests were quite pleased with the food and service. I will definitely be using the banquet/party space again in the future. The restrooms were clean and inviting. This is my favorite neighborhood spot for sure! Lastly, the birthday girl was pleasantly surprised and elated! Check out the pics!

It could had used a bit more seasoning and rice should be an option but it was good. I had to add my own black pepper and salt. I asked for green peppers and onions to be added to my hash browns but I got literally 5 diced green peppers!! I had to add hot sauce to make it palatable. Also, I asked for whipped cream on top of my hot chocolate but nothing was added!

Whew... this place used to be a delight, now, not so much. I lived in South Holland for 8 years, and this was a regular for me. Basically, the food was just overpriced and mediocre. Chicken and waffles are 1 medium sized waffle and 1 piece of chicken, in my case, a small breast. Under the chicken was a wedge of honey dew melon, maybe used to make it appear like there's more chicken than it is. Either was, the fruit was hot because of the chicken. I'd skip this place.

My mother and I were in town visiting family and we were looking for a good place to eat close to our hotel as we aren't familiar with the area. We decided to eat at this location due to the Yelp reviews and the food did not disappoint. We actually ate at this restaurant for breakfast both days we were in town and recommended it to our family who lives in the area. I would consider my mom a bit of a coffee snob - she doesn't like the fancy stuff and she likes her coffee strong. It isn't often that we go to a restaurant and my mother likes the coffee and she really enjoyed the coffee at Blueberry Fields. The staff there is extremely friendly and helped us with recommendations on what to get because there are A LOT of tasty sounding options on their menu. I decided to get the fried crab cakes with two eggs scrambled soft. The crab cakes were extremely tasty and the eggs were made perfectly. The service was super quick, too, which was also impressive. I would have given 5 stars but there are two things that are less than ideal. 1. I didn't find out until the second visit that the young lady who took my order the first day didn't ask if I wanted my crab cakes fried or grilled and didn't provide me with the sauce that goes with it. Fortunately, the crab cakes were so good that I didn't need the sauce but it was a bit disappointing that I didn't get those options the first time I visited. 2. This establishment seems to charge you for everything. You get charged if you order the wrong food. You get charged for using a credit card. They indicate they may charge up to 20% gratuity for parties of 5 or more. To each their own, but it seemed a bit excessive to me. Maybe they are reasonable if you have an issue and talk to them about it. Fortunately, we didn't have any issues during our visits.

Ordered a classic turkey club sandwich which was TOP NOTCH ! They use real turkey and it was awesome! Also comes with the best chicken noodle soup made with wide egg noodles...and fries ... The soup is amazing too ... Just love this place And I am picky

I love it here. Even when I order on DoorDash, the food gets to be nice and hot. No need to reheat. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with some pancakes, eggs and sausage.... Everything was good.

The service leaves much to be desired. First, my husband and I are greated with this way hun. What happened to Sir and Ma'am.? Disrespectful . Then we sit 20 minutes waiting to have our order taken. Finally, get the order, and it's wrong. While waiting, another set of guest come in, and their order is taken right away, and they get their food before we do. In this day and age, poor customer service and racism are still in full force. By the way, we were not the only guests who waited way too long to have our orders taken and get our food.

I am kind of disgusted. I went there with my family on New Year's Eve for brunch. We wanted a booth and were told it would be a 10-15 minute wait for a booth. We sat down to wait. The same lady who said it would be a 10-15 minute wait looks at us then seated two families right in front of us while we were waiting..., in a booth! I approached nicely to ask and she said,"Oh, that's right you were waiting." I just walked away, because I wasn't about to spend my holiday debating with her. I told my family I didn't want to eat there and would like to leave. They were upset. My mom approached the lady and asked why she didn't seat us. The lady just said she didn't know. What kind of answer is that? So I politely told my mom it was time to go and ushered her out of the place. We won't be back. There are hardly any businesses in South Holland that sell breakfast and brunch, but I'm not from that area so I have no issue with meeting up in other places. Side note: They are opening some sort of hotel in the area. Good for them, we won't be using it. I wish them the best of luck, but I don't spend money in places where I am unwanted and not respected.

Clean floors Booth seats need a thorough cleaning. Waitress isn't wearing gloves. Bottom of plates feel dirty/crusty. Ham off the bone was over charred and served cold. Eggs were a bit too soft for my liking and served cool. Well done hash browns were plentiful and cooked nearly to perfection but bland. Pancakes lacked fluff. They were very much cake-like and the syrup was runny.

Food was good and customer service is great! I don't like having to pay a fee to use my debit card.

I am at the restaurant right now. I ordered an omelette with rice and white toast. Rice is very cold and so is the toast with no butter! The eggs were not done enough.

Went to Blueberry Field Pancake House in South Holland on August 2, 2024. The service was good, and the food was good, but the prices were misleading. A senior plate for 1 egg and a choice of side was $8.99. To add bacon the cost was $9.99. My friends ordered a short stack of pancakes (3) from the senior menu at a cost of $8.99. They believed to add the bacon would raise the cost to 9.99. However, after getting ready to pay, we discovered to add bacon the cost was $9.99. 10 for 4 slices of bacon is ridiculous. Their meal with coffee, bacon and pancakes was a total of $21.97 without taxes. The menu is not clear and needs to be re-written. Needless to say we will not be going back.

I was invite to have brunch at this restaurant with a few of my friends. I ordered Salmon patties as an entree . I wasn't happy with my order so I ask to speak to the manager. A older Caucasian women approached the table I expressed my concerns. Her demean was extremely rude and aggressive she told me she was the owner and "don't ever come back"! Wow some customer service I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to ANYONE disregared the food as taste is an opinion which should be respected in a restaurant setting . However customer service is a MUST when Im spending my money! I would never tell a paying patron to never come back . so I will follow her advice and encourage anyone I know to do the same!

Great service! All the staff is courteous and accommodating. There is a nice variety in the menu, and the food is delicious.

I love this place. It's very clean and it don't be as packed when I go. The service is fast and the food was very tasty. You definitely get alot for your money.

This is a really good breakfast spot. It's a little pricier than the dives we have near me, but it's 100 percent worth it. You can tell the difference in quality. Service was good too. Note that the coffee is mediocre, so next time, I might try an espresso.

Came in for a nice lunch consisting of a Denver Omelette, hash browns with grilled peppers and onions, pancakes, and a side order of the fattest juiciest links... DELICIOUS!!!

Everything from the coffee to the breakfast was fantastic. Service was perfect. This was our first morning visiting the area. If we ever come back here we will definitely come back to Blueberry Fields Pancake House.

This was a nice surprise! We happened to drive by around breakfast time as we were on our way back through the Midwest so stopped by. Very generous servings. Nice, clean restaurant with a warm atmosphere. Friendly staff. We were seated right away on a Sunday morning around 8-9.

Good food & great service. Be sure to try the coffee bar. The coffee drinks are very well made, flavorful but not overdone. I hear that they are opening in Brookhaven closer to my home & I couldn't be more thrilled!

If you're a person who can eat a lot, you'll be very happy here. Otherwise, you'll have leftovers for tomorrow. Ingredients were fresh in my Denver omelette and the hash browns were crispy on top. Added cheese, which may have been a bit too much. The whole middle was basically cheese. But still a good eggy omelette full of ham and green peppers and onions. Again, huge portion sizes so I tried my hardest but just could not finish it. Service was quick, friendly, coffee was always refilled and they made sure to always check on us. The cashier was awesome, funny and sweet. Sent us out on a positive, warm note.

Got a #7 it was the worse thing EVERRRRR!!! The turkey bacon tasted burnt. Like they didn't clean the grill or pan it was cooked in. The pancakes were plain and boring. Made me feel, I'm studying in the library for a test that I'm dreading. Any hoo, you do get a LARGE portion size of food. Tootles!

Very good food Near Pechanga and the I5 interstate the flapjack's were a hit think I finished the whole plate

On February 27, 2022, I had breakfast here after several years of NOT patronizing this establishment for horrible service by the owner. I sincerely believe in second chances and I'm happy that I did provide this establishment with another opportunity because the owner was hospitable and attentive to all patrons, including me. There was a slight mix up on the seating which caused my family and I to get waited on after 2O minutes, but mistakes happen. The owner approached our table to apologize and she even deducted our drinks. The moral of this review is I will continue to patronize this place because people deserve a second chance. Totally different experience... Thank you! P.S Food was extremely good as I remembered it to be.....The "Service" will always be huge over the food!

I only go out for breakfast when I want a Denver Omelette or Skillet and this is my favorite place to go, and I've been going here for YEARS. The staff is always nice and welcoming, it's always nice and clean and the food is delicious

If your near the area it maybe an option for a quick breakfast. Wife mentioned coffee was bad and my chicken in the skillet tasted a bit frozen burn and dry. The service was fast and friendly so that saved it.

We really enjoyed our experience at this great breakfast spot. There are several options and the portion sizes are giant. They also had seating for larger groups. Everything was delicious and all our family members gave this a five stars rating. The prices were reasonable.

Very friendly staff. The bacon was surprisingly amazing. Pass on the sausage links. Pass on the coffee as well, it was pretty auful. The biscuits were those pre made Puck things, which were meh. The gravy was surprisingly good though. Next time I will try the southern skillets. This way I get the gravy with out the pucks. The prices were also very reasonable. The space was not crowded with too many tables. The booths were spacious enough for today's American belly.

Its ok but never ever order the potato pancakes they are gross and misleading The bacon isn't the best testing either I think the eggs were mediocre another black own south Holland restaurant Im in favor of I rather go to blue berry hill in Homewood And you can get a Groupon and great food

Well I've been going here for years, and ordered breakfast almost every weekend during the covid shut-down. Just after covid was over, I went with friends for breakfast. When I went to pay my bill, he didn't want to give me the offer on my account from their rewards program, stating I should have told the server. Nowhere was this posted. How would I know. He didn't waver for maybe $4. It's not about the money, but the customer service and loyalty. I went to a different place the next weekend, and my favorite server from this place was at the new place. Easy peasy!

First time here, The food was delicious I really enjoyed the breakfast combo. Will be coming back

On my way to my nephew's football game nearby and wanted some breakfast beforehand. I saw this spot which the parking lot was pretty full so it must be good right?? It looked nice from the outside and upon entering a young lady greeted and sat me & hub. We got a booth. The place was pretty full. The water server came quickly. Within 30 mins our server said she'll be back to us. Upon returning she had coffee pot in hand, she knew what I needed. Her name was Lelah, very nice, friendly, cheery, on point!! We placed order and it was available in 10 minutes. It was delicious. The salmon patties were second to my mother's. The rice was fluffy, flavorful. The egg whites were good. I took the pancake home. Coffee was good 2. She asked if I wanted flavorful creamer. I have never been asked before. The vibe was family, friend like. People were enjoying their food. I saw bags which means they give u good portions. I am so glad I made this impromptu stop here. I will be back. Good job guys, not one complaint.

This is a hidden gem in an older style casino. Great food and service. I have been here several times when traveling thru town and it never disappoints.
