This is essentially a basic motel that’s been given a budget facelift — the photos look much better than the actual experience. You can tell they made an effort, but it doesn’t feel upscale; the details are missing both in the rooms and in the amenities. The outdoor pool is old and poorly maintained, while the indoor pool looks like it just got a fresh coat of paint — which is already peeling — and you’ll still find areas with mold, rust, and even some rotting wood. We booked a 2-bed, 1-bath room for a 2-night stay during the summer.
On the positive side, the room was clean, and the bedding, mattress, and pillows were very comfortable. The paint colors are trendy and give the room a fresher feel. They also offer complimentary coffee and tea available all day, which was a nice touch.
The staff is very friendly and responsive — I liked that they communicate via text and actually reply. The grounds are well kept, and it was very nice to be able to relax by the outdoor fire pit in the summer evenings while my two kids ran around and played on the lawn nearby. When the ice machine wasn’t working, the staff kindly provided me with a bag of ice, which I appreciated.
One annoyance: the magnetic key cards get deactivated easily if kept near a phone, so I had to go to the front desk multiple times to get them reprogrammed.
Overall, this is a solid $130-$150 /night motel for the current Stowe, VT market (summer 2025). Paying more than that - specially during ski season - would likely leave you disappointed (and they even add a sneaky “resort fee” on top). All in all, not a terrible experience, but it’s easy to understand why some guests might leave unhappy depending on what they paid.
