The Best Hotels in Cape Cod of 2024

"Budget travelers will appreciate the many amenities of this wonderful family-friendly property, sitting just a short walk from a sandy beach in Dennisport. The guest rooms and cottages have a distinctly retro vibe — think 1950s summer camp — with plenty of wood accents, pink tiled bathrooms, and midcentury modern motifs." - Travel + Leisure Editors

13 Best Cape Cod Hotels, From Falmouth to Provincetown

"A newcomer to the Cape hotel scene, Bluebird Dennisport has quickly carved out a niche for itself—it’s a more elevated experience than the roadside motor lodges of the past, but isn’t overladen with expensive five-star amenities you probably won’t even end up using during your stay. If you’re traveling with kids, or in a group, or are just looking for a reasonable option that still feels curated and well-designed, check this one out. There are a number of room categories but the two-bedroom cottages in particular feel perfect for groups or those traveling with little ones."

A nice and clean spot for my solo trip with my dog. Location was really nice and walkable to a nice park and some good eats. Staff was really friendly overall. It is motel style and very kid friendly so we definitely heard kids running around but nothing to the point where it was insane. My only other suggestions would be to have some sheer curtains for the windows so you can have some privacy quit cutting out all the nice sunlight in the AM, maybe add some sort of clock to the room, and coffee maker. It was nice having a microwave.

My wife and I had a reservation for the night of August 3rd. After driving two hours from Quincy, MA, we were informed at check-in that the air conditioning in our room wasn’t working. We then spoke with another guest in the lobby who mentioned that an entire building had been without AC for over 24 hours. We might have stayed if there had been a meaningful discount offered, but the front desk staff said the only adjustment they could make was waiving a $22 fee. Spending over $300 for a room with no air conditioning wasn’t acceptable, so we asked to speak with a manager. The staff attempted to call someone, but no one answered. We were told a manager would be in the next day and would call us—but we never received a follow-up. For a large hospitality group that manages multiple properties, the handling of this situation was disappointing. No effort was made to alert incoming guests about the issue, yet we received several group texts throughout the day about an illegally parked car. Ultimately, we had no choice but to cancel and abandon our plans. We’ve been excited to check out the Bluebird ever since its remodel, so this was a real letdown. Unfortunately, after this experience, we’ll be avoiding any hotels operated by Lark.

🏖️ Bluebird Dennisport – Cape Cod, MA ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cape Fear, Not! If you heard rumors about this place lacking soundproofing, either you’ve got superhero hearing or you need it checked. The pool was warm, and staff were all smiles. Teddy was my fave! She's the bomb. We celebrated our 27th anniversary here, and the team went the extra mile with rose petals in the room—a heartfelt surprise that made the stay feel extra special. The room was spacious, clean, and came equipped with a microwave and fridge—perfect for beach-day leftovers. The shower was spotless, the parking lot had plenty of space, and the location is pure gold. Now the pool... that’s my only complaint. It was so nice, I hated leaving it. Seriously, it’s relaxation personified. And the staff? Beyond courteous—these folks are customer-centric pros who know how to deliver a memorable stay. You’re steps from three great restaurants, just three blocks from the beach, and an easy hour’s drive to Provincetown. It’s got that hipster-chic vibe with real Cape Cod soul. If you're looking for a chill, upgraded, noise-canceling, poolaxing experience—this is the spot. Tell them this freakin' vegan from NYC sent you. This place is underrated and slept on—pun fully intended. --- Boomsauce Scale: 🗑️ B – basura (trash) 😐 BS – basic (come on! Try harder) 👍 BS + – better (Yo! That's better) 🔥 BS ++ – best (alright! Alright! Alrightttt!) 🌟 BS +++ – Amazing location! now that's boomsauce!

First of all, our check-in was a nightmare. The person never looked up or even acknowledged us until I actually asked for help. I had called BlueBird back in early May and was very specific on the room and location that we wanted ( overlooking the pool area). They actually said ‘no problem’. Instead we were given the worst room on the property. Room 49 with a spectacular view of the parking lot….yes, the parking lot. The coupon that we got from our last visit for $30 really threw her for a loop. When we checked out, we found out that instead of subtracting the amount, she ADDED it to the bill. Unbelievable. How was this person even allowed to welcome guests. The rooms are nice but the shower situation remains an accident waiting to happen. No hand bars or shower mats. So dangerous. Also, no hooks to hang towels anywhere. We went to Ocean Lot and bought some hooks. The grounds are nice ( especially the pool area) until the sun goes down. The place is pitch dark. Trying to walk around is taking your life in your hands. There is no spotlight on the BlueBird sign near the road, so we passed it three times. Hello… the solar lights don’t work). To drive your car to the back parking lot ( the globe side lights are all out) is treacherous. God help anyone walking around. I hope management listens because it’s a great location with much potential.

Dozens of guests are currently left without air conditioning, without any explanation . As of this review; it’s 24 hours later and nobody has received any notification of the problem, plan of action, or compensation of any kind. The manager did not pick up the phone the afternoon afterwards to address the problem. The rooms and location here are best described as quaint and simple. The service, however, is surprisingly inept. For $400 a night, we expected functioning AC, or at least a timeline to returning it to serviceable condition.

The Bluebird in Dennisport was wonderful. Yes, you could hear noise from neighboring rooms but all was quiet at night. The rooms are very clean, bed comfortable, and free of clutter. Did like the deluxe room which includes a table and bench seating. The glassed in pool was great as the weather was a bit cool. The staff and housekeeping were very friendly.

I stayed at the hotel for two nights and didn't like the experience. Although they offer breakfast, they don't offer it. I'm eight months pregnant, and the bathroom bathtub is super slippery. I don't recommend it for anyone pregnant. There's no coffee maker in the room, and the layout makes it feel like you're staying with other families. The bedspread looked like it hadn't been changed between guests.

We are repeat customers - this time we stayed for a week. I love the modern furniture, stylish retro motel vibe and the ultra comfy bed - the air conditioning was also nice for the hot spell we were experiencing. It's nice to have such modern accommodations in Dennis Port - a town which preserves the best of an old Cape Cod beach town. We enjoyed sitting in the evenings and with our morning coffee at the little table and chairs stationed outside each room. The staff, and especially the cleaning staff, were really nice, and the rooms are very clean. Didn't use the pool, but our niece did - a great family amenity. Now here's a couple points for improvement: 1) the shower tub is slippery! I noted this in a review after we stayed here not long after it opened. Several years later, this is still being remarked on in reviews. This is actually a safety hazard. Either no one in management reads the reviews (is this possible?) or they just don't do anything. But if someone fell and were to sue, the repeated reviews mentioning this hazard would not look good. Knowing it was still an issue, we actually bought some anti-slip matting at the local Job Lot. This really shouldn't be necessary. 2) As numbers of reviews also note - some hooks would be really helpful in the bathroom. Not a complicated fix! 3) It's nice that you offer free coffee in the morning, but would it be all that hard to offer little packets of half and half instead of or in addition to CoffeeMate? It would make such a difference. The little office is full of pricy merchandise and it's not just a cheap motel. All the same, please note I did give this review five stars. We enjoyed our stay, and would happily stay again.

Yelp
Wow ! HIDDEN GEM ‍‍ This is the fourth time I have stayed at this hotel and I have been reluctant to post a review because I didn't want everyone to know about it. But now I just have to. This place is fantastic. Renovated. Beautifully designed. Exceptional management. Very friendly staff. Very convenient location. Rosalynn is the summer manager and I had a few issues that were personal to myself that she was very receptive to and was incredible and in helping me with. It reminds me of a mom and pop business. It's hard to find that nowadays. I've spent 60 years on the cape and have dealt with a lot of unfriendly and unreceptive staff. At the Bluebird Resort front desk ,Ashley and Meleka have always been friendly, kind, polite and very professional. This resort has clean rooms that are beautifully designed with all the conveniences you may need. They also have an indoor and outdoor pool, beautiful grounds, several fire pits surrounded by Adirondack chairs, and they allow pets which is a big plus to me. One last thing that I will add is that the value/cost is exceptional here compared to other resorts on the Cape. Check it out !

Yelp
Rooms are small and smell of mold. Front desk is unhelpful and clueless. Overall the property feels dirty and in need of a deep clean.

Yelp
Such a nice place to stay! We loved the modern design of everything and there are 2 pools; indoor and outdoor. Great location too. Walk to breakfast, lunch or dinner. We had an issue with the remote for the tv - staff is super helpful. We're going to come back next year!

Yelp
We were so excited to stay at this charming place. Our room was fantastic with the kids having their own bunk bed room. The pool was great and then at 2am the smoke/CO alarm starts going off. No one at the desk. No one answering the emergency number. We managed to get it off and when we were sure there was no carbon monoxide issue we opened all the windows and went back to sleep only to have the situation repeat itself at 6am. We weren't the only room this was happening to. They were nice enough to credit us the stay but we weren't about to risk it one more night so We left. Stars for decor and warmth and because in our hurry to get out we left some things behind and they made shipping them home a breeze. There were a lot of very sleepless hotel guests at the breakfast place across the street the next day. That place was fantastic by the way.

Yelp
We booked a $69 day pass to use the pool. They wouldn't store our luggage and wouldn't let us use a bathroom. We left after 10 mins to go find somewhere to pee back in Hyannis near the airport. Major waste of time and money. Do not give this place youe business.

Yelp
Given the daily rate, this was not worth it. No one returned my call or email before I arrived on the 5th. Someone promised me that I would get in at 1 p.m. on my arrival day due to my young daughter. The front desk woman gave me attitude. Fortunately, the manager worked to rectify this situation. On Sunday evening, we were locked out of our place for over an hour because the key cards stopped working. Instead of eating our takeout indoors, we sat in the grass while we waited to be let in. Tyreese worked his tail off to help. But none of the cards or keys worked. He had to end up breaking in through a window to let us in. He gets all the credit in the world. Still, it was a major nuisance. Then, at 1 a.m. the front door flew wide open; the chain prevented it from going all the way. This was an unnerving way to wake up. To have a young child and know that all the doors are not opening or closing all the way is a major safety issue. So, fixing doors is a must. I would have asked to not pay for that night based on those two experiences. Lastly, the front desk guy was rude when I left. Didn't say bye. Didn't say thanks for coming. All attitude. A major disappointment given the OUTLANDISH price and the fact that this is tied in with the LARK company. Will not book a stay here again nor will I recommend it to anyone. Hotel Salem has its total act together. This place is off to a very bad start. On many levels.

Yelp
Advertising for the event listed Ryan Montebleau as a performer, and the event time stated 4-9pm. No where in the advertising did it state there would previous performers, and we came expecting to hear Ryan and then comes to find out he wasn't going to perform until 730. Totally false advertising using his name to draw in patrons. The whole music lineup should have been published with the event. Would not recommend or come to this establishment again

Yelp
We had a lovely stay at the Bluebird Dennisport! The beach is an easy 10 minute walk or less, there are great restaurants within walking distance and the area is very quiet. We were very impressed by the rooms, pool area and overall maintenance of the grounds. Friendly staff too, well done!

Yelp
Stayed at Bluebird this weekend. Beautiful spotless room, comfortable bed, truly enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Yelp
We just got back from an overnight stay there yesterday. We rented one of their cottages and it was very quiet. None of the doors shut properly to the bathroom and bedroom as they are made out of wood and it seems the humidity has done them in. They need to check the baseboards next to the floor especially in the kitchen area as bugs, ants etc were freely coming and going through them all the time. I would try to catch one and down the baseboard or between the wood they would go! They need to seal those up and I caught numerous spiders and got rid of black spider eggs with webbing on the floor in the living room area next to the fireplace and the lamp. They need to check those hidden areas! The shower is very small with not much room to maneuver. Other than that no further issues with the cottage. It was the pool area that was disappointing. We booked there as it stated they also had a hot tub..hot! yeah right more like luke warm at best! The massage jets didn't even work as Tyreese..the maintenance guy ( who is very nice and a pleasure to talk to btw ) said they were having mechanical issues with it. I guess that is why it was barely hot? We were cold!! Also they need to refinish or re-do the tiling to it as it is in bad shape and very rough to the skin sitting and moving around in it! It looks very old and the water had a rather unusual smell almost pungent like it is not kept too clean. We didn't smell any chlorine just that weird smell like stagnant water! I was looking forward to the hot tub after the pool and was sadly let down. I did not know you needed to ask them if the hot tub is hot before you book to stay there as that is a big plus to me! It makes a big difference to me to have something nice to soak in while staying at a hotel/resort etc as there is nothing to do that in their bathroom with a super small shower even! I don't think we will be returning as it was not worth the $700 or so a night to stay there. You would expect the accommodations to be more decent and the hot tub,,hot!!
