Where to Eat, Stay, and Play in the Adirondacks—the Birthplace of the American Vacation

"Rooms with a cool minimalist aesthetic, earth tones, blonde wood, and unfussy decor. Overlooks Mirror Lake, perfect for outdoor adventure and evening relaxation. Future addition of Après Only bar and tasting room inspired by 1970s-80s ski culture."

Bluebird Lake Placid (Adirondack Mountains, New York) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Lake Placid has twice hosted the Winter Olympics and, as any local will tell you, it’s perhaps an even finer summertime destination. So it’s no surprise that Bluebird Lake Placid is oriented towards outdoor recreation. Its stylish Scandinavian-meets-Japanese minimalist aesthetic is a welcome departure from the region’s more rustic, more familiar Adirondack lodges." - Tablet Hotels

We booked last minute and were pleasantly surprised with the hotel! The location is clutch and the decor was so warm and welcoming. The room itself was quite large and had a cool couch set up (king deluxe) to relax on. Bed was soooo comfy! The lounge and bar were super cool as well- loved the Adirondack feel. They are under construction but it didn’t impact our stay. We would definitely stay again!

The hotel was very warm and inviting. The staff was attentive and helpful. Steve at the bar made great drinks and the housekeeping staff member that also has black and white franchises was great! We traveled with 2 dogs and the hotel was definitely dog friendly. The breakfast in the morning was a nice touch. The view and location was worth it. I am sorry I only gave the room 4 stars..it didn’t have a closet so we had stuff all over the room 🤣

Lovely hotel with great proximity to everything. Friendly staff in the lobby. I did not see the pool or sure there is one, but the decor makes up for this in my opinion. Hot coffee and breakfast in the morning, very sweet girl working there. I recommend staying and hope that they can keep the nightly rates they have been offering. Kudos to the gentleman at reception when i got in. He was trying to assist with a reservation on the phone and the caller was trying his patience. He was polite and professional. Great job to all the staff! I appreciate you.

Near the lake. Easy walking to everything. The rooms have been redone and are modern, simple, warm, and inviting. Beds are comfy. Plenty of plugs for electronics. Staff is very helpful. Stayed here 3 different times. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at Bluebird Lake Placid for two nights this past weekend. While we knew it was a 2-star hotel and weren’t expecting luxury, a few issues left us disappointed. First, the parking situation was frustrating. There weren’t enough spaces for guests, and we had to circle the lot and wait. Staff told us parking is first come first serve, told us to park anywhere, which felt disorganized and stressful after a long drive. At check-in, we were surprised to be charged an additional $30+ per day for Wi-Fi and breakfast. Even though the website clearly stated breakfast was complimentary and included in our stay. When we asked about it, we were told it was a “new policy,” and there wasn’t much we could do in the moment. It felt unfair and misleading. The breakfast only has cereal, yogurt and coffee, no hot food. The room itself was average, the shower had only a half-door, so water easily splashed onto the bathroom floor. Overall, we really wanted to like this place, but for $300 per night, we expected better service.

Newly renovated 2 bed Queen suite was perfect for our family of 5. They even provided a pack and play at no extra charge. Room also has a small kitchen. Lobby is beautiful with lake views. Hotel is few yard away from the lake. All staff was super friendly. Will definitely go back. Thank you for a great stay.

We enjoyed it here. Minimal staff around but that’s kind of nice. Style is great. I was enjoying the lobby one morning with no one around then a staff member came in setting up for breakfast and started singing loud so I just went back to the room. But overall 5/5 thank you

Beautifully designed hotel. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. We stayed at the king bunk suite. Clean and spacious, perfect for our family. Just 2 minutes walk to the lake side and downtown. Highly recommended to everyone!!

Yelp
Warm and welcoming with updated rooms. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Nice bar area with plenty of seating and morning coffee. Location is within walking distance to town with ample parking included. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

Yelp
Such a awesome hotel offering amenities such as spectacular views, convenient location and only walking distance to both Lake Mirror & the Olympic Museum. My hotel stay was rather pleasant. Hotel staff was polite, amenities were always being met and my room was always kept clean & rinsed with toiletries. Strongly recommend if you are seeking a warm stay That offers location convenience, modern amenities and provides a sense of quality.

Yelp
Rooms are deceptively smaller than pictured. No real amenities like pool, sauna or gym. Parking can be a challenge. On the positive side, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and it is perfect walking distance from downtown.

Yelp
Such a cute little hotel! Very modern/cozy design. Right on the end of Main Street so walking to everything was super easy. Didn't realize how dog friendly this hotel/town was! At the bar in the hotel another's couple dog was given a toy and treats! Coffee and tea is free with stay...will come back again!

Yelp
NOT ENOUGH PARKING FOR THE HOTEL GUESTS! Went for a hockey tournament and there was not enough parking for the guests staying in the hotel. When asked if they had over flow parking we were told we had to park in a lot about 1/2 mile away and needed to pay and move our cars by 8am.

Yelp
I am borderline between 3 and 4 stars. The hotel does not seem to be finished and I think once the bar and lounge areas are finished it might bring it to 4 stars. The rooms were very nice and clean and I had a lake view. The hotel design is nice and well thought out. Downsides. The staff was not warm and welcoming. No working elevator but I was helped with my bags. The lack of a small breakfast with the coffee was disappointing. The walkable distance to the shops and restaurants is a huge plus.
